The Opening of Al-Qur'ân

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi

(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

             الْحَمْدُ للّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

1.                  Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena

Praise is only for Allâh WHO is the Râbb of the entire Universe (Alamîn),

            الرَّحْمـنِ الرَّحِيمِ

2.                  Alrrahmani alrraheemi

The Most Loving and the Gracious,

            مَـالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ

3.                  Maliki yawmi alddeeni

The Owner of the Day of Judgment.

            إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ

4.                  Iyyaka naAAbudu waiyyaka nastaAAeenu

We serve YOU (Allâh) Alone and we ask for YOUR help.

            اهدِنَــــا الصِّرَاطَ المُستَقِيمَ

5.                  Ihdina alssirata almustaqeema

Guide us to the Straight Path,

            صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنعَمتَ عَلَيهِمْ

6.                  Sirata allatheena anAAamta AAalayhim

The Path of those whom YOU have blessed with YOUR Bounties;

            غَيرِ المَغضُوبِ عَلَيهِمْ وَلاَ الضَّالِّينَ

7.                  Ghayri almaghdoobi AAalayhim wala alddalleena

(Not the path of those people) Whom YOU cursed with YOUR wrath and those who are lost in misguidance. (amen).
