Chapter 11

Total Verses: 129

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi

(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

يَعْتَذِرُونَ إِلَيْكُمْ إِذَا رَجَعْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ قُل لاَّ تَعْتَذِرُواْ لَن نُّؤْمِنَ لَكُمْ قَدْ نَبَّأَنَا اللّهُ مِنْ أَخْبَارِكُمْ وَسَيَرَى اللّهُ عَمَلَكُمْ وَرَسُولُهُ ثُمَّ تُرَدُّونَ إِلَى عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

94.            YaAAtathiroona ilaykum itha rajaAAtum ilayhim qul la taAAtathiroo lan numina lakum qad nabbaana Allahu min akhbarikum wasayara Allahu AAamalakum warasooluhu thumma turaddoona ila AAalimi alghaybi waalshshahadati fayunabbiokum bima kuntum taAAmaloona
When you will return to them, they (hypocrites) will submit all sorts of excuses.  But you should clearly say that "do not make excuses, we will not trust in anything you say.  Allâh has informed us about your affairs.  Now Allâh and HIS Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) will observe your deeds, then you will be returned towards HIM who knows all the open and hidden and HE will inform you of that what you have been doing."

سَيَحْلِفُونَ بِاللّهِ لَكُمْ إِذَا انقَلَبْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لِتُعْرِضُواْ عَنْهُمْ فَأَعْرِضُواْ عَنْهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ رِجْسٌ وَمَأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ جَزَاء بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ

95.             Sayahlifoona biAllahi lakum itha inqalabtum ilayhim lituAAridoo AAanhum faaAAridoo AAanhum innahum rijsun wamawahum jahannamu jazaan bima kanoo yaksiboona
On your return they will swear before you so that you may ignore them.  Then no doubt you may turn away from them, because they are (like) filth (Rijsun, Najasun) and their real place is Hell-Fire, which they will get as recompense of their earnings.

يَحْلِفُونَ لَكُمْ لِتَرْضَوْاْ عَنْهُمْ فَإِن تَرْضَوْاْ عَنْهُمْ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يَرْضَى عَنِ الْقَوْمِ الْفَاسِقِينَ

96.             Yahlifoona lakum litardaw AAanhum fain tardaw AAanhum fainna Allaha la yarda AAani alqawmi alfasiqeena
They will swear before you so that you may be pleased with them.  Whereas even if you are pleased with them -- (even) then Allâh will never be pleased with such rebellious people (Al-Fâsiqûn).

الأَعْرَابُ أَشَدُّ كُفْرًا وَنِفَاقًا وَأَجْدَرُ أَلاَّ يَعْلَمُواْ حُدُودَ مَا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ وَاللّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ

97.             AlaAArabu ashaddu kufran wanifaqan waajdaru alla yaAAlamoo hudooda ma anzala Allahu AAala rasoolihi waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun
These Bedouins Arabs (the Arabs of desert) are harder in disbelief and hypocrisy and in their matters -- the chances are more that they will remain ignorant about the limits of that Deen which Allâh has revealed to HIS Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).  Allâh Knows everything and is All-Wise.

وَمِنَ الأَعْرَابِ مَن يَتَّخِذُ مَا يُنفِقُ مَغْرَمًا وَيَتَرَبَّصُ بِكُمُ الدَّوَائِرَ عَلَيْهِمْ دَآئِرَةُ السَّوْءِ وَاللّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

98.             Wamina alaAArabi man yattakhithu ma yunfiqu maghraman wayatarabbasu bikumu alddawaira AAalayhim dairatu alssawi waAllahu sameeAAun AAaleemun
There are such people among these Bedouins who spend anything for the Cause of Allâh and consider it as a forced fine for themselves and (they) are waiting for the calamities for you (that if you are seized in any calamity then they take-off from the hook of obedience of this system in which you have confined them).  Whereas the circle of an evil is imposed on them and Allâh Hears and Knows everything.

وَمِنَ الأَعْرَابِ مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِاللّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ وَيَتَّخِذُ مَا يُنفِقُ قُرُبَاتٍ عِندَ اللّهِ وَصَلَوَاتِ الرَّسُولِ أَلا إِنَّهَا قُرْبَةٌ لَّهُمْ سَيُدْخِلُهُمُ اللّهُ فِي رَحْمَتِهِ إِنَّ اللّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

99.             Wamina alaAArabi man yuminu biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri wayattakhithu ma yunfiqu qurubatin AAinda Allahi wasalawati alrrasooli ala innaha qurbatun lahum sayudkhiluhumu Allahu fee rahmatihi inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun
And among these Bedouins there are few such people who believe in Allâh and the Last Day and whatever (they) spend make it as means to approach to Allâh and get the prayers of good fortune from the Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).  Yes! It is certainly a way of nearness (to Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) and Allâh will surely allow them to enter into HIS Mercy, certainly Allâh is Forgiving and Most Merciful. (R) 1

وَالسَّابِقُونَ الأَوَّلُونَ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالأَنصَارِ وَالَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُم بِإِحْسَانٍ رَّضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُواْ عَنْهُ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي تَحْتَهَا الأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ذَلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ

100.          Waalssabiqoona alawwaloona mina almuhajireena waalansari waallatheena ittabaAAoohum biihsanin radiya Allahu AAanhum waradoo AAanhu waaAAadda lahum jannatin tajree tahtaha alanharu khalideena feeha abadan thalika alfawzu alAAatheemu
Those Muhâjirûn (immigrants) and Ansâr (citizens of Al-Madinah) who were the first to accept the invitation of Faith, in addition, those who followed them subsequently in good deeds, Allâh has been pleased with them and they have been well-pleased with Allâh, Allâh has prepared such gardens for them underneath that canals will be flowing and they will live in it forever, this is the great success.

وَمِمَّنْ حَوْلَكُم مِّنَ الأَعْرَابِ مُنَافِقُونَ وَمِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ مَرَدُواْ عَلَى النِّفَاقِ لاَ تَعْلَمُهُمْ نَحْنُ نَعْلَمُهُمْ سَنُعَذِّبُهُم مَّرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ يُرَدُّونَ إِلَى عَذَابٍ عَظِيمٍ

101.          Wamimman hawlakum mina alaAArabi munafiqoona wamin ahli almadeenati maradoo AAala alnnifaqi la taAAlamuhum nahnu naAAlamuhum sanuAAaththibuhum marratayni thumma yuraddoona ila AAathabin AAatheemin
The Bedouins who live in your surroundings there are many hypocrites among them and in the same way there are hypocrites among the people of Al-Madinah who have become expert in hypocrisy.  You do not know them; WE Know them.  That time is near when WE shall give them double punishment, then they will be brought back for most severe punishment.

وَآخَرُونَ اعْتَرَفُواْ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ خَلَطُواْ عَمَلاً صَالِحًا وَآخَرَ سَيِّئًا عَسَى اللّهُ أَن يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ إِنَّ اللّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

102.          Waakharoona iAAtarafoo bithunoobihim khalatoo AAamalan salihan waakhara sayyian AAasa Allahu an yatooba AAalayhim inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun
There are some other people who have acknowledged their sins.  Their actions are mixed some righteous and some evil.  It is quite possible that Allâh may turn to them in mercy because HE is Forgiving and Merciful.

خُذْ مِنْ أَمْوَالِهِمْ صَدَقَةً تُطَهِّرُهُمْ وَتُزَكِّيهِم بِهَا وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ إِنَّ صَلاَتَكَ سَكَنٌ لَّهُمْ وَاللّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

103.          Khuth min amwalihim sadaqatan tutahhiruhum watuzakkeehim biha wasalli AAalayhim inna salataka sakanun lahum waAllahu sameeAAun AAaleemun
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), you should take the Sadaqah (alms, Zakât-ul-Mall) from their wealth in order to purify them and motivate them (in the path of righteousness) and pray for their mercy, because your prayer will be a cause of their comfort, Allâh Hears and Knows everything.

أَلَمْ يَعْلَمُواْ أَنَّ اللّهَ هُوَ يَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَأْخُذُ الصَّدَقَاتِ وَأَنَّ اللّهَ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ

104.          Alam yaAAlamoo anna Allaha huwa yaqbalu alttawbata AAan AAibadihi wayakhuthu alssadaqati waanna Allaha huwa alttawwabu alrraheemu
Don’t these people know that HE is Allâh WHO accepts the repentance of HIS servants and gives acceptance to their charities (Sadaqât), and that Allâh is Oft-Forgiving and Most Merciful?

وَقُلِ اعْمَلُواْ فَسَيَرَى اللّهُ عَمَلَكُمْ وَرَسُولُهُ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَسَتُرَدُّونَ إِلَى عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

105.          Waquli iAAmaloo fasayara Allahu AAamalakum warasooluhu waalmuminoona wasaturaddoona ila AAalimi alghaybi waalshshahadati fayunabbiokum bima kuntum taAAmaloona
And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) tell these people that you do your deeds, Allâh and HIS Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and the Believers -- all will observe that now how is your behavior, then you will be brought back to HIM – Who knows all seen and unseen, and HE will tell you what you have been doing.

وَآخَرُونَ مُرْجَوْنَ لِأَمْرِ اللّهِ إِمَّا يُعَذِّبُهُمْ وَإِمَّا يَتُوبُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاللّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ

106.          Waakharoona murjawna liamri Allahi imma yuAAaththibuhum waimma yatoobu AAalayhim waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun
There are some other people whose matter is still pending for the Decree of Allâh whether to punish them or to turn back to them with mercy.  Allâh Knows everything and is All-Wise.

وَالَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُواْ مَسْجِدًا ضِرَارًا وَكُفْرًا وَتَفْرِيقًا بَيْنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَإِرْصَادًا لِّمَنْ حَارَبَ اللّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَيَحْلِفَنَّ إِنْ أَرَدْنَا إِلاَّ الْحُسْنَى وَاللّهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ

107.          Waallatheena ittakhathoo masjidan diraran wakufran watafreeqan bayna almumineena wairsadan liman haraba Allaha warasoolahu min qablu walayahlifunna in aradna illa alhusna waAllahu yashhadu innahum lakathiboona
There are some other people who built a Masjid (Muslims place of worship) with the intention to harm (the invitation of Truth), and to commit infidelity (Kufr --instead of worshiping Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala), and to sow (the seed of) disagreement among the believers, and to make (in appearance a place of worship) an ambush (outpost) for that person who have fought against Allâh and HIS Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) before it.  They will certainly swear and say, "Our intention was nothing except to do good".  But Allâh is witness that they are absolutely liars.

لاَ تَقُمْ فِيهِ أَبَدًا لَّمَسْجِدٌ أُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوَى مِنْ أَوَّلِ يَوْمٍ أَحَقُّ أَن تَقُومَ فِيهِ فِيهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّونَ أَن يَتَطَهَّرُواْ وَاللّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُطَّهِّرِينَ

108.          La taqum feehi abadan lamasjidun ossisa AAala alttaqwa min awwali yawmin ahaqqu an taqooma feehi feehi rijalun yuhibboona an yatatahharoo waAllahu yuhibbu almuttahhireena
You should never stand in that building.  The Masjid (Muslims place of worship) which had been built on piety from the very first-day -- is more proper place that you stand in it (for prayer), there are such people in it who like to keep themselves pure (clean) and Allâh only likes those who adopt the cleanliness.

أَفَمَنْ أَسَّسَ بُنْيَانَهُ عَلَى تَقْوَى مِنَ اللّهِ وَرِضْوَانٍ خَيْرٌ أَم مَّنْ أَسَّسَ بُنْيَانَهُ عَلَىَ شَفَا جُرُفٍ هَارٍ فَانْهَارَ بِهِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ وَاللّهُ لاَ يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ

109.          Afaman assasa bunyanahu AAala taqwa mina Allahi waridwanin khayrun am man assasa bunyanahu AAala shafa jurufin harin fainhara bihi fee nari jahannama waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena
Then what do you think that who is better -- the one who laid foundation of his building on the fear of Allâh (piety) and to seek HIS Pleasure or the one who raised his building on an unstable brink of a cliff and which crumbled down with him straight into the Fire of Hell?  Allâh never shows the Straight Path to such cruel people (Zâlimûn).

لاَ يَزَالُ بُنْيَانُهُمُ الَّذِي بَنَوْاْ رِيبَةً فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ إِلاَّ أَن تَقَطَّعَ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَاللّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ

110.          La yazalu bunyanuhumu allathee banaw reebatan fee quloobihim illa an taqattaAAa quloobuhum waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun
The building, which they have built, will always be a root (cause) of uncertainty in their hearts (there is no chance of its coming out for their hearts) except this that their hearts break into pieces (till they die).  Allâh is Well Aware and All-Wise. (R) 2

إِنَّ اللّهَ اشْتَرَى مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُم بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ الجَنَّةَ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ فَيَقْتُلُونَ وَيُقْتَلُونَ وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّا فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالإِنجِيلِ وَالْقُرْآنِ وَمَنْ أَوْفَى بِعَهْدِهِ مِنَ اللّهِ فَاسْتَبْشِرُواْ بِبَيْعِكُمُ الَّذِي بَايَعْتُم بِهِ وَذَلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ

111.          Inna Allaha ishtara mina almumineena anfusahum waamwalahum bianna lahumu aljannata yuqatiloona fee sabeeli Allahi fayaqtuloona wayuqtaloona waAAdan AAalayhi haqqan fee alttawrati waalinjeeli waalqurani waman awfa biAAahdihi mina Allahi faistabshiroo bibayAAikumu allathee bayaAAtum bihi wathalika huwa alfawzu alAAatheemu
The fact is that Allâh has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties at the price of Paradise.  They fight and kill and die in the Path of Allâh.  With them (the promise of Paradise) is true pledge of Allâh in Taurât and in Injeel and in Al-Qur'ân.  And who else is truer in fulfilling his promise than Allâh?  Therefore celebrate on your this bargain which you have settled with Allâh -- this is the supreme success.

التَّائِبُونَ الْعَابِدُونَ الْحَامِدُونَ السَّائِحُونَ الرَّاكِعُونَ السَّاجِدونَ الآمِرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَالنَّاهُونَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَالْحَافِظُونَ لِحُدُودِ اللّهِ وَبَشِّرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

112.          Alttaiboona alAAabidoona alhamidoona alssaihoona alrrakiAAoona alssajidoona alamiroona bialmaAAroofi waalnnahoona AAani almunkari waalhafithoona lihudoodi Allahi wabashshiri almumineena
Those who, return to Allâh over and over again, worshipers of HIM, the singers of hymns in HIS praise, move about in the land for HIS sake, bow down and prostrate themselves before HIM, enjoin for good (Al-Ma'rûf), forbid from evil (Al-Munkar) and protectors of the limits (laws) set by Allâh (these believers are of such qualities who make this bargain with Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) and O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) give good news to these believers.

مَا كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ أَن يَسْتَغْفِرُواْ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَلَوْ كَانُواْ أُوْلِي قُرْبَى مِن بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْجَحِيمِ

113.          Ma kana lilnnabiyyi waallatheena amanoo an yastaghfiroo lilmushrikeena walaw kanoo olee qurba min baAAdi ma tabayyana lahum annahum ashabu aljaheemi
It is not proper for the Prophet and those people who have brought Faith to pray for the Forgiveness of Mushrikûn (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala), even though (if) they are their close relatives, when it has been manifested to them that they deserve Hell-Fire.

وَمَا كَانَ اسْتِغْفَارُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لِأَبِيهِ إِلاَّ عَن مَّوْعِدَةٍ وَعَدَهَا إِيَّاهُ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ أَنَّهُ عَدُوٌّ لِلّهِ تَبَرَّأَ مِنْهُ إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لأوَّاهٌ حَلِيمٌ

114.          Wama kana istighfaru ibraheema liabeehi illa AAan mawAAidatin waAAadaha iyyahu falamma tabayyana lahu annahu AAaduwwun lillahi tabarraa minhu inna ibraheema laawwahun haleemun
The reason Ibrahîm prayed for the forgiveness of his father was because of the promise -- he had made with his father, but when it was manifested to him that his father is an enemy to Allâh then he became unconcerned of him, the truth is that Ibrahîm was tender-hearted (Al-Awwah), pious and forbearing man.

وَمَا كَانَ اللّهُ لِيُضِلَّ قَوْمًا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَاهُمْ حَتَّى يُبَيِّنَ لَهُم مَّا يَتَّقُونَ إِنَّ اللّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ

115.          Wama kana Allahu liyudilla qawman baAAda ith hadahum hatta yubayyina lahum ma yattaqoona inna Allaha bikulli shayin AAaleemun
It is not the Way of Allâh to lead the people astray after giving them guidance until (HE) tells them clearly that from which thing they need to abstain.  In fact Allâh has the Knowledge of everything.

إِنَّ اللّهَ لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ يُحْيِـي وَيُمِيتُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلاَ نَصِيرٍ

116.          Inna Allaha lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi yuhyee wayumeetu wama lakum min dooni Allahi min waliyyin wala naseerin
And this is also true that the sovereignty of the skies and the earth is in the Command of Allâh HE has control over life and death, and you do not have any such protector or helper (Walî) who could save you from HIM.

لَقَد تَّابَ الله عَلَى النَّبِيِّ وَالْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالأَنصَارِ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ فِي سَاعَةِ الْعُسْرَةِ مِن بَعْدِ مَا كَادَ يَزِيغُ قُلُوبُ فَرِيقٍ مِّنْهُمْ ثُمَّ تَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ إِنَّهُ بِهِمْ رَؤُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ

117.          Laqad taba Allahu AAala alnnabiyyi waalmuhajireena waalansari allatheena ittabaAAoohu fee saAAati alAAusrati min baAAdi ma kada yazeeghu quloobu fareeqin minhum thumma taba AAalayhim innahu bihim raoofun raheemun
Allâh has forgiven the Prophet and those Muhâjirûn (immigrants) and the Ansâr (Muslims of Al-Madinah) who supported Prophet at the time of distress.  Although the hearts of some of them were inclined towards the infirmity, (but when they did not follow the crooked way and stood by the Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, then) Allâh forgave them, no doubt Allâh is Kind and Merciful to these people.

وَعَلَى الثَّلاَثَةِ الَّذِينَ خُلِّفُواْ حَتَّى إِذَا ضَاقَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الأَرْضُ بِمَا رَحُبَتْ وَضَاقَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنفُسُهُمْ وَظَنُّواْ أَن لاَّ مَلْجَأَ مِنَ اللّهِ إِلاَّ إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ تَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ لِيَتُوبُواْ إِنَّ اللّهَ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ

118.          WaAAala alththalathati allatheena khullifoo hatta itha daqat AAalayhimu alardu bima rahubat wadaqat AAalayhim anfusuhum wathannoo an la maljaa mina Allahi illa ilayhi thumma taba AAalayhim liyatooboo inna Allaha huwa alttawwabu alrraheemu
And HE also forgave those three -- whose case had been postponed.  When the earth became narrow for them besides its all vastness and their own souls were becoming burden for them and they perceived that there is no place to hide from Allâh except in the Mercy of Allâh HIMSELF then Allâh turned to them with HIS Mercy so that they should turn to HIM, certainly HE is Oft-Forgiving and Merciful. (R) 3

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ اتَّقُواْ اللّهَ وَكُونُواْ مَعَ الصَّادِقِينَ

119.          Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ittaqoo Allaha wakoonoo maAAa alssadiqeena
O people, who have brought Faith, fear Allâh and support those who are truthful.

مَا كَانَ لِأَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهُم مِّنَ الأَعْرَابِ أَن يَتَخَلَّفُواْ عَن رَّسُولِ اللّهِ وَلاَ يَرْغَبُواْ بِأَنفُسِهِمْ عَن نَّفْسِهِ ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ لاَ يُصِيبُهُمْ ظَمَأٌ وَلاَ نَصَبٌ وَلاَ مَخْمَصَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ وَلاَ يَطَؤُونَ مَوْطِئًا يَغِيظُ الْكُفَّارَ وَلاَ يَنَالُونَ مِنْ عَدُوٍّ نَّيْلاً إِلاَّ كُتِبَ لَهُم بِهِ عَمَلٌ صَالِحٌ إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ

120.          Ma kana liahli almadeenati waman hawlahum mina alaAArabi an yatakhallafoo AAan rasooli Allahi wala yarghaboo bianfusihim AAan nafsihi thalika biannahum la yuseebuhum thamaon wala nasabun wala makhmasatun fee sabeeli Allahi wala yataoona mawtian yagheethu alkuffara wala yanaloona min AAaduwwin naylan illa kutiba lahum bihi AAamalun salihun inna Allaha la yudeeAAu ajra almuhsineena
It was not proper for the people of Al-Madinah and the Bedouins in its surroundings to leave the Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) of Allâh and stay home and worry about their own lives without caring for him.  It will never happen that they suffer hunger, thirst and physical hardship, and take any step towards that which the deniers of truth do not like, and from any enemy take the revenge (of the enmity with truth), and in reward a righteous deed is not written in their favor.  Surely Allâh does not waste reward of the services of the pious (Muhsinûn) people.

وَلاَ يُنفِقُونَ نَفَقَةً صَغِيرَةً وَلاَ كَبِيرَةً وَلاَ يَقْطَعُونَ وَادِيًا إِلاَّ كُتِبَ لَهُمْ لِيَجْزِيَهُمُ اللّهُ أَحْسَنَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ

121.          Wala yunfiqoona nafaqatan sagheeratan wala kabeeratan wala yaqtaAAoona wadiyan illa kutiba lahum liyajziyahumu Allahu ahsana ma kanoo yaAAmaloona
In the same way it will never happen that they spend anything (in the Path of Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) small or large and they cross any valley (in the effort of Jihad) and it is not written in their favor so that Allâh may reward them for their this good deed.

وَمَا كَانَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ لِيَنفِرُواْ كَآفَّةً فَلَوْلاَ نَفَرَ مِن كُلِّ فِرْقَةٍ مِّنْهُمْ طَآئِفَةٌ لِّيَتَفَقَّهُواْ فِي الدِّينِ وَلِيُنذِرُواْ قَوْمَهُمْ إِذَا رَجَعُواْ إِلَيْهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَحْذَرُونَ

122.          Wama kana almuminoona liyanfiroo kaffatan falawla nafara min kulli firqatin minhum taifatun liyatafaqqahoo fee alddeeni waliyunthiroo qawmahum itha rajaAAoo ilayhim laAAallahum yahtharoona
And it is not necessary at all that all the believers should have come out collectively, but why it did not happen so; that some people from each part of their habitation should have come out and should have gotten the understanding of Deen (Islamic way of life) and when they returned (they) should have warned the people of their inhabitation so that they should have abstained (from non-Islamic conduct). (R) 4

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ قَاتِلُواْ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَكُم مِّنَ الْكُفَّارِ وَلِيَجِدُواْ فِيكُمْ غِلْظَةً وَاعْلَمُواْ أَنَّ اللّهَ مَعَ الْمُتَّقِينَ

123.         Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo qatiloo allatheena yaloonakum mina alkuffari walyajidoo feekum ghilthatan waiAAlamoo anna Allaha maAAa almuttaqeena
O people who have brought Faith, fight against those deniers of truth who are with you.  And it should be that they find hardness in you, and know that Allâh is with the pious (Al-Muttaqûn) people.

وَإِذَا مَا أُنزِلَتْ سُورَةٌ فَمِنْهُم مَّن يَقُولُ أَيُّكُمْ زَادَتْهُ هَـذِهِ إِيمَانًا فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ فَزَادَتْهُمْ إِيمَانًا وَهُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ

124.          Waitha ma onzilat sooratun faminhum man yaqoolu ayyukum zadathu hathihi eemanan faamma allatheena amanoo fazadathum eemanan wahum yastabshiroona
Whenever a new Sûrah (chapter from Al-Qur'ân) is being revealed then a few people among them ask, (from Muslims as fun) "Tell, whose Faith among you has increased by it?"  Those people who have brought Faith in fact (each revealed Sûrah) has increased in their Faith and they are pleased with it,

وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ فَزَادَتْهُمْ رِجْسًا إِلَى رِجْسِهِمْ وَمَاتُواْ وَهُمْ كَافِرُونَ

125.          Waamma allatheena fee quloobihim maradun fazadathum rijsan ila rijsihim wamatoo wahum kafiroona
Although those people in whose hearts was a disease (of hypocrisy) on their previous filth (each new revealed Sûrah) has added more filth to it and they remained unbelievers till the time of death.

أَوَلاَ يَرَوْنَ أَنَّهُمْ يُفْتَنُونَ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ مَّرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ لاَ يَتُوبُونَ وَلاَ هُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ

126.         Awa la yarawna annahum yuftanoona fee kulli AAamin marratan aw marratayni thumma la yatooboona wala hum yaththakkaroona
Don’t these people see that each year they are tried once or twice?  But even on this they neither repent nor learn lesson from it.

وَإِذَا مَا أُنزِلَتْ سُورَةٌ نَّظَرَ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ هَلْ يَرَاكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ ثُمَّ انصَرَفُواْ صَرَفَ اللّهُ قُلُوبَهُم بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لاَّ يَفْقَهُون

127.         Waitha ma onzilat sooratun nathara baAAduhum ila baAAdin hal yarakum min ahadin thumma insarafoo sarafa Allahu quloobahum biannahum qawmun la yafqahoona
When any Sûrah (chapter from Al-Qur'ân) is revealed then these people communicate by looking into each other’s eyes (saying) that, "In any way someone is not watching you", then they silently slip away.  Allâh has turned their hearts away because they are illiterate people.

لَقَدْ جَاءكُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُم بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَؤُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ

128.         Laqad jaakum rasoolun min anfusikum AAazeezun AAalayhi ma AAanittum hareesun AAalaykum bialmumineena raoofun raheemun
Look! A Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) has come to you people who is from among yourselves, your suffering of loss -- grieves him, he is anxious for your prosperity, he is loving and very kind for those who bring Faith.--

فَإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَقُلْ حَسْبِيَ اللّهُ لا إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ

129.         Fain tawallaw faqul hasbiya Allahu la ilaha illa huwa AAalayhi tawakkaltu wahuwa rabbu alAAarshi alAAatheemi
--Now if these people turn their faces from you (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) then O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) tell them that: "Allâh is sufficient for me, there is no deity (Ilâha) except HIM, I have put my Trust in HIM and HE is Owner of the Mighty Throne." (R) 5

“Yûnus-Jonah” – (Makki - 10^th Surah)

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

الر تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ الْحَكِيمِ

1.               Alif-Lâm-Râ tilka ayatu alkitabi alhakeemi
(Aliflâmrâ -- these letters are called prefixes, only Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala, knows the meanings), these are the Verses of the Book (Al-Qur'ân), which is full of wisdom (Al-Hakîm) and knowledge.

أَكَانَ لِلنَّاسِ عَجَبًا أَنْ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَى رَجُلٍ مِّنْهُمْ أَنْ أَنذِرِ النَّاسَ وَبَشِّرِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ أَنَّ لَهُمْ قَدَمَ صِدْقٍ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ قَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ إِنَّ هَـذَا لَسَاحِرٌ مُّبِينٌ

2.                Akana lilnnasi AAajaban an awhayna ila rajulin minhum an anthiri alnnasa wabashshiri allatheena amanoo anna lahum qadama sidqin AAinda rabbihim qala alkafiroona inna hatha lasahirun mubeenun
Did it become strange thing for the people that WE sent Revelation on a man from among themselves to awaken the (dreamy) people and give good news to those who accept it, that there is a true honor and highest ranking for them with their Râbb?  (On it) The deniers (of truth) said that this person is an obvious magician.

إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ اللّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى عَلَى الْعَرْشِ يُدَبِّرُ الأَمْرَ مَا مِن شَفِيعٍ إِلاَّ مِن بَعْدِ إِذْنِهِ ذَلِكُمُ اللّهُ رَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوهُ أَفَلاَ تَذَكَّرُونَ

3.                Inna rabbakumu Allahu allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda fee sittati ayyamin thumma istawa AAala alAAarshi yudabbiru alamra ma min shafeeAAin illa min baAAdi ithnihi thalikumu Allahu rabbukum faoAAbudoohu afala tathakkaroona
The truth is that your Râbb is that Allâh WHO has created the skies and the earth in Six Days (Six Yôme), then is controlling the affairs of the universes by manifesting over the Throne of Kingdom.  There is no one who can intercede (can plead with HIM) except that intercedes after HIS Permission.  This Allâh is your Râbb; therefore you should serve HIM Alone.  Then will you not come to your senses?

إِلَيْهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا وَعْدَ اللّهِ حَقًّا إِنَّهُ يَبْدَأُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ لِيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ الصَّالِحَاتِ بِالْقِسْطِ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَهُمْ شَرَابٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ وَعَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْفُرُونَ

4.               Ilayhi marjiAAukum jameeAAan waAAda Allahi haqqan innahu yabdao alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu liyajziya allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati bialqisti waallatheena kafaroo lahum sharabun min hameemin waAAathabun aleemun bima kanoo yakfuroona
You all have to return to HIM, this is a firm Promise of Allâh.  No doubt HE is the One WHO originates the (process of) Creation, then HE will re-create again so that HE may justly reward those people who brought Faith and did righteous deeds, and those who adopted the way of infidelity (Kufr) they shall drink the boiling water and suffer painful torment as compensation of the denial of Truth which they have been doing.

هُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ الشَّمْسَ ضِيَاء وَالْقَمَرَ نُورًا وَقَدَّرَهُ مَنَازِلَ لِتَعْلَمُواْ عَدَدَ السِّنِينَ وَالْحِسَابَ مَا خَلَقَ اللّهُ ذَلِكَ إِلاَّ بِالْحَقِّ يُفَصِّلُ الآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ

5.               Huwa allathee jaAAala alshshamsa diyaan waalqamara nooran waqaddarahu manazila litaAAlamoo AAadada alssineena waalhisaba ma khalaqa Allahu thalika illa bialhaqqi yufassilu alayati liqawmin yaAAlamoona
HE is the One WHO made the sun to shine and gave the moon glitter and established precisely the decreasing and increasing phases of the moon so that you calculate the accounts of years and dates from it.  Allâh has created all this in truth.  HE is presenting HIS Signs clearly and plainly for those people who have knowledge.

إِنَّ فِي اخْتِلاَفِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَمَا خَلَقَ اللّهُ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ لآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَّقُونَ

6.               Inna fee ikhtilafi allayli waalnnahari wama khalaqa Allahu fee alssamawati waalardi laayatin liqawmin yattaqoona
Certainly in the rotation of night and day and in all those things, which Allâh has created in the skies and in the earth, there are Signs (Ayât) for those people who intend to abstain (from wrong seeing and wrongdoing).

إَنَّ الَّذِينَ لاَ يَرْجُونَ لِقَاءنَا وَرَضُواْ بِالْحَياةِ الدُّنْيَا وَاطْمَأَنُّواْ بِهَا وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنْ آيَاتِنَا غَافِلُونَ

7.               Inna allatheena la yarjoona liqaana waradoo bialhayati alddunya waitmaannoo biha waallatheena hum AAan ayatina ghafiloona
The fact is that those people who do not hope to meet US and have become content and pleased with this worldly life, and those people who are negligent of OUR Signs (Ayât),

أُوْلَـئِكَ مَأْوَاهُمُ النُّارُ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ

8.               Olaika mawahumu alnnaru bima kanoo yaksiboona
Their final destination will be Hell-Fire in compensation of those evils, which they have been committing (because of their wrong belief and wrong attitude).

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ الصَّالِحَاتِ يَهْدِيهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ بِإِيمَانِهِمْ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهِمُ الأَنْهَارُ فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ

9.               Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati yahdeehim rabbuhum bieemanihim tajree min tahtihimu alanharu fee jannati alnnaAAeemi
And this is also fact that those people who brought Faith (who have accepted that Truth/Facts which are described in this Book) and have been doing righteous deeds, their Râbb will guide them to the Straight (right) Path because of their Faith, in the gardens full of blessing the canals will flow underneath them,

دَعْوَاهُمْ فِيهَا سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَتَحِيَّتُهُمْ فِيهَا سَلاَمٌ وَآخِرُ دَعْوَاهُمْ أَنِ الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

10.            DaAAwahum feeha subhanaka allahumma watahiyyatuhum feeha salamun waakhiru daAAwahum ani alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena
There; their noise will be, "O Allâh YOU are Pure (Subhânaka Allâhumma)", their prayer will be that, "Peace" (Salâm) and the end of their each talk will be on this, "All the praises are for Allâh Alone -- the Râbb of all the Universes (Al-Hamdu Lillâhi Rabbil-'Alamîn). (R) 6

وَلَوْ يُعَجِّلُ اللّهُ لِلنَّاسِ الشَّرَّ اسْتِعْجَالَهُم بِالْخَيْرِ لَقُضِيَ إِلَيْهِمْ أَجَلُهُمْ فَنَذَرُ الَّذِينَ لاَ يَرْجُونَ لِقَاءنَا فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ

11.            Walaw yuAAajjilu Allahu lilnnasi alshsharra istiAAjalahum bialkhayri laqudiya ilayhim ajaluhum fanatharu allatheena la yarjoona liqaana fee tughyanihim yaAAmahoona
If ever Allâh has rushed in settling the bad accounts with the people as they hasten in asking the good for this world then their respite time for actions would have been ended long before.  (But this is not OUR Way) For this reason WE give respite to those people to wander in their rebellion, who do not expect to meet with US.

وَإِذَا مَسَّ الإِنسَانَ الضُّرُّ دَعَانَا لِجَنبِهِ أَوْ قَاعِدًا أَوْ قَآئِمًا فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُ ضُرَّهُ مَرَّ كَأَن لَّمْ يَدْعُنَا إِلَى ضُرٍّ مَّسَّهُ كَذَلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ

12.            Waitha massa alinsana alddurru daAAana lijanbihi aw qaAAidan aw qaiman falamma kashafna AAanhu durrahu marra kaan lam yadAAuna ila durrin massahu kathalika zuyyina lilmusrifeena ma kanoo yaAAmaloona
This is the behavior of mankind that when any hard time comes to him/her then (he/she) calls upon US standing and sitting and lying down, but when WE postpone his/her hardship then walks away as he/she had never called US in his/her difficult time.  In this way the deeds of the wrongdoers (Musrifûn) have been made pleasing to them.

وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا الْقُرُونَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَمَّا ظَلَمُواْ وَجَاءتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَمَا كَانُواْ لِيُؤْمِنُواْ كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْقَوْمَ الْمُجْرِمِينَ

13.            Walaqad ahlakna alquroona min qablikum lamma thalamoo wajaathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati wama kanoo liyuminoo kathalika najzee alqawma almujrimeena
O people, WE destroyed the nations before you when they adopted the path of cruelty      and their Rasools came to them with clear and plain signs and they never brought Faith.          In this way WE punish the criminals (Mujrimûn) for their crimes.

ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ خَلاَئِفَ فِي الأَرْضِ مِن بَعْدِهِم لِنَنظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ

14.            Thumma jaAAalnakum khalaifa fee alardi min baAAdihim linanthura kayfa taAAmaloona
Now WE have given you their place after them, so that (WE should) see how you act.

وَإِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ قَالَ الَّذِينَ لاَ يَرْجُونَ لِقَاءنَا ائْتِ بِقُرْآنٍ غَيْرِ هَـذَا أَوْ بَدِّلْهُ قُلْ مَا يَكُونُ لِي أَنْ أُبَدِّلَهُ مِن تِلْقَاء نَفْسِي إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلاَّ مَا يُوحَى إِلَيَّ إِنِّي أَخَافُ إِنْ عَصَيْتُ رَبِّي عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

15.            Waitha tutla AAalayhim ayatuna bayyinatin qala allatheena la yarjoona liqaana iti biquranin ghayri hatha aw baddilhu qul ma yakoonu lee an obaddilahu min tilqai nafsee in attabiAAu illa ma yooha ilayya innee akhafu in AAasaytu rabbee AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin
When OUR Clear Verses are recited to them then those people who do not expect to meet US, (they) say: "In its place bring another Qur'ân or do some revision in it."  O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), tell them, "It is not my job to make any change in it by myself.  I only follow that revelation which is sent to me. If I disobey my Râbb then I have fear of the torment of the horrifying Day (Day of Resurrection)."

قُل لَّوْ شَاء اللّهُ مَا تَلَوْتُهُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلاَ أَدْرَاكُم بِهِ فَقَدْ لَبِثْتُ فِيكُمْ عُمُرًا مِّن قَبْلِهِ أَفَلاَ تَعْقِلُونَ

16.            Qul law shaa Allahu ma talawtuhu AAalaykum wala adrakum bihi faqad labithtu feekum AAumuran min qablihi afala taAAqiloona
And say: "If it would be the Leave of Allâh then I should have never recited this Al-Qur’ân to you and Allâh would have never informed you about it.  After all I have spent an age among you before this, do you not use your sense?

فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَى عَلَى اللّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِآيَاتِهِ إِنَّهُ لاَ يُفْلِحُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ

17.            Faman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban aw kaththaba biayatihi innahu la yuflihu almujrimoona
Then who else would be crueler than the one who fabricates lie and ascribes it toward Allâh or denies the True Revelation (Ayâts) of Allâh? Certainly, the criminals (Mujrimûn) can never attain success."

وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللّهِ مَا لاَ يَضُرُّهُمْ وَلاَ يَنفَعُهُمْ وَيَقُولُونَ هَـؤُلاء شُفَعَاؤُنَا عِندَ اللّهِ قُلْ أَتُنَبِّئُونَ اللّهَ بِمَا لاَ يَعْلَمُ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلاَ فِي الأَرْضِ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

18.            WayaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi ma la yadurruhum wala yanfaAAuhum wayaqooloona haolai shufaAAaona AAinda Allahi qul atunabbioona Allaha bima la yaAAlamu fee alssamawati wala fee alardi subhanahu wataAAala AAamma yushrikoona
These people are worshiping those (deities) except Allâh-- who can neither harm them nor benefit them, and (they) say this that: They are our intercessors near Allâh."  O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) ask them: "Do you inform Allâh of that thing which HE neither Knows in the skies nor in the earth?"  Pure is HE and is Exalted above that shirk (an act of associating partners with HIM) which these people commit.

وَمَا كَانَ النَّاسُ إِلاَّ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً فَاخْتَلَفُواْ وَلَوْلاَ كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ فِيمَا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ

19.             Wama kana alnnasu illa ommatan wahidatan faikhtalafoo walawla kalimatun sabaqat min rabbika laqudiya baynahum feema feehi yakhtalifoona
In the beginning all the mankind were one nation, afterwards they made different creeds and sects, and if one thing have not already been decided from your Râbb then the matter in which they are disputing that would have been resolved.

وَيَقُولُونَ لَوْلاَ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِ فَقُلْ إِنَّمَا الْغَيْبُ لِلّهِ فَانْتَظِرُواْ إِنِّي مَعَكُم مِّنَ الْمُنتَظِرِينَ

20.             Wayaqooloona lawla onzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi faqul innama alghaybu lillahi faintathiroo innee maAAakum mina almuntathireena
And in regard to their saying that why any sign has not been sent toward this Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) from his Râbb, so tell them, "Allâh Alone is the Owner and the Authority over all unseen, well, wait, I also wait with you." (R) 7

وَإِذَا أَذَقْنَا النَّاسَ رَحْمَةً مِّن بَعْدِ ضَرَّاء مَسَّتْهُمْ إِذَا لَهُم مَّكْرٌ فِي آيَاتِنَا قُلِ اللّهُ أَسْرَعُ مَكْرًا إِنَّ رُسُلَنَا يَكْتُبُونَ مَا تَمْكُرُونَ

21.             Waitha athaqna alnnasa rahmatan min baAAdi darraa massathum itha lahum makrun fee ayatina quli Allahu asraAAu makran inna rusulana yaktuboona ma tamkuroona
This is the behavior of the people that after the calamity when WE let them taste the mercy then all of sudden they start plotting against OUR Signs (Ayât).  Tell them: "Allâh is more swift in HIS plans than you, HIS Angels are writing down all your deceptions."

هُوَ الَّذِي يُسَيِّرُكُمْ فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنتُمْ فِي الْفُلْكِ وَجَرَيْنَ بِهِم بِرِيحٍ طَيِّبَةٍ وَفَرِحُواْ بِهَا جَاءتْهَا رِيحٌ عَاصِفٌ وَجَاءهُمُ الْمَوْجُ مِن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ وَظَنُّواْ أَنَّهُمْ أُحِيطَ بِهِمْ دَعَوُاْ اللّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ لَئِنْ أَنجَيْتَنَا مِنْ هَـذِهِ لَنَكُونَنِّ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ

22.             Huwa allathee yusayyirukum fee albarri waalbahri hatta itha kuntum fee alfulki wajarayna bihim bireehin tayyibatin wafarihoo biha jaatha reehun AAasifun wajaahumu almawju min kulli makanin wathannoo annahum oheeta bihim daAAawoo Allaha mukhliseena lahu alddeena lain anjaytana min hathihi lanakoonanna mina alshshakireena
HE is Allâh WHO enables you to travel through the land and the sea.  Therefore when you board on the boat and are happily sailing with favorable winds and then all of sudden a stormy wind flows and billows (waves breaking on the shore) strike them from all-sides and the passengers think that they stuck in the storm, at that time everyone purify their Deen (religion) for Allâh and pray to HIM that, "If YOU (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) rescue us from this disaster then we shall become grateful servants."

فَلَمَّا أَنجَاهُمْ إِذَا هُمْ يَبْغُونَ فِي الأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّمَا بَغْيُكُمْ عَلَى أَنفُسِكُم مَّتَاعَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ إِلَينَا مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَنُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

23.             Falamma anjahum itha hum yabghoona fee alardi bighayri alhaqqi ya ayyuha alnnasu innama baghyukum AAala anfusikum mataAAa alhayati alddunya thumma ilayna marjiAAukum fanunabbiokum bima kuntum taAAmaloona
But when HE saves them -- then the same people begin to rebel in the land by denying the truth.  O people, your revolt is going only against you.  This is the enjoyment of a short-lived worldly life (you may enjoy it), then you have to return to US, at that time WE will tell you what you have been doing.

إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا كَمَاء أَنزَلْنَاهُ مِنَ السَّمَاء فَاخْتَلَطَ بِهِ نَبَاتُ الأَرْضِ مِمَّا يَأْكُلُ النَّاسُ وَالأَنْعَامُ حَتَّىَ إِذَا أَخَذَتِ الأَرْضُ زُخْرُفَهَا وَازَّيَّنَتْ وَظَنَّ أَهْلُهَا أَنَّهُمْ قَادِرُونَ عَلَيْهَآ أَتَاهَا أَمْرُنَا لَيْلاً أَوْ نَهَارًا فَجَعَلْنَاهَا حَصِيدًا كَأَن لَّمْ تَغْنَ بِالأَمْسِ كَذَلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

24.             Innama mathalu alhayati alddunya kamain anzalnahu mina alssamai faikhtalata bihi nabatu alardi mimma yakulu alnnasu waalanAAamu hatta itha akhathati alardu zukhrufaha waizzayyanat wathanna ahluha annahum qadiroona AAalayha ataha amruna laylan aw naharan fajaAAalnaha haseedan kaan lam taghna bialamsi kathalika nufassilu alayati liqawmin yatafakkaroona
The example of this worldly life (which you love so much that even you have become neglectful of OUR Signs) is as WE sent down water from the sky then the produce of the earth, which men and cattle eat, grew up in plentiful, then at that very moment when the earth was on its full swing and the crops were with its adornments and its owners were thinking that now they are able to take benefit from it, all of sudden OUR Command came by night or by day and WE destroyed it in such a way that as it was nothing there yesterday.  In this way WE explain OUR Signs plainly for those people who are thoughtful

وَاللّهُ يَدْعُو إِلَى دَارِ السَّلاَمِ وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاء إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

25.             WaAllahu yadAAoo ila dari alssalami wayahdee man yashao ila siratin mustaqeemin
(You are involving in the deception of this temporary life) And Allâh is inviting you to the home of peace (Dar-ul-Salaam).  (The guidance is with HIM) HE Guides to the Right Path whomever HE Wants.

لِّلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُواْ الْحُسْنَى وَزِيَادَةٌ وَلاَ يَرْهَقُ وُجُوهَهُمْ قَتَرٌ وَلاَ ذِلَّةٌ أُوْلَـئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ

26.             Lillatheena ahsanoo alhusna waziyadatun wala yarhaqu wujoohahum qatarun wala thillatun olaika ashabu aljannati hum feeha khalidoona
There is blessing for those people who adopted the way of righteousness and all good.  The darkness and disgrace will not cover their faces.  They deserve Paradise where they will live forever.

وَالَّذِينَ كَسَبُواْ السَّيِّئَاتِ جَزَاء سَيِّئَةٍ بِمِثْلِهَا وَتَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ مَّا لَهُم مِّنَ اللّهِ مِنْ عَاصِمٍ كَأَنَّمَا أُغْشِيَتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ قِطَعًا مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ مُظْلِمًا أُوْلَـئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ

27.             Waallatheena kasaboo alssayyiati jazao sayyiatin bimithliha watarhaquhum thillatun ma lahum mina Allahi min AAasimin kaannama oghshiyat wujoohuhum qitaAAan mina allayli muthliman olaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona
And those people who earned evils they will get the reward according to their evils, the humiliation will prevail over them, there will be no one to save them from Allâh -- such darkness will be prevailing over their faces as the black curtains of the night are covering them, they deserve the Hell where they will live forever.

وَيَوْمَ نَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ نَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ مَكَانَكُمْ أَنتُمْ وَشُرَكَآؤُكُمْ فَزَيَّلْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ وَقَالَ شُرَكَآؤُهُم مَّا كُنتُمْ إِيَّانَا تَعْبُدُونَ

28.             Wayawma nahshuruhum jameeAAan thumma naqoolu lillatheena ashrakoo makanakum antum washurakaokum fazayyalna baynahum waqala shurakaohum ma kuntum iyyana taAAbudoona
The Day when WE shall gather them all together (in OUR Court) then shall say to those people who committed Shirk (associated Partners with Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala): "Stop!  You as well as your taken deities (whom you associated as OUR partners)", then WE shall remove the state of strangeness from among them and their deities will say: "You did not use to worship us.

فَكَفَى بِاللّهِ شَهِيدًا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ إِن كُنَّا عَنْ عِبَادَتِكُمْ لَغَافِلِينَ

29.             Fakafa biAllahi shaheedan baynana wabaynakum in kunna AAan AAibadatikum laghafileena
The witness of Allâh is sufficient between us and you (even if you used to worship us then) we were completely unaware of your this worship."

هُنَالِكَ تَبْلُو كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا أَسْلَفَتْ وَرُدُّواْ إِلَى اللّهِ مَوْلاَهُمُ الْحَقِّ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَفْتَرُونَ

30.             Hunalika tabloo kullu nafsin ma aslafat waruddoo ila Allahi mawlahumu alhaqqi wadalla AAanhum ma kanoo yaftaroona
At that time every soul will taste of that -- what he/she did, all will be directed toward their True Owner (Allâh Maulâ) and all those lies, which they had invented will vanish from them. (R) 8

قُلْ مَن يَرْزُقُكُم مِّنَ السَّمَاء وَالأَرْضِ أَمَّن يَمْلِكُ السَّمْعَ والأَبْصَارَ وَمَن يُخْرِجُ الْحَيَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَيُخْرِجُ الْمَيَّتَ مِنَ الْحَيِّ وَمَن يُدَبِّرُ الأَمْرَ فَسَيَقُولُونَ اللّهُ فَقُلْ أَفَلاَ تَتَّقُونَ

31.             Qul man yarzuqukum mina alssamai waalardi amman yamliku alssamAAa waalabsara waman yukhriju alhayya mina almayyiti wayukhriju almayyita mina alhayyi waman yudabbiru alamra fasayaqooloona Allahu faqul afala tattaqoona
Ask them: "Who provides you the provisions (of life) from the sky and the earth?  Who has the power over the faculties of hearing and sight?  Who brings out the living from the dead and the dead from the living?  Who is planning for the arrangements of this universe?"  They will certainly say: "Allâh."  Say: "Then do you not refrain (from going against the Truth)?"

فَذَلِكُمُ اللّهُ رَبُّكُمُ الْحَقُّ فَمَاذَا بَعْدَ الْحَقِّ إِلاَّ الضَّلاَلُ فَأَنَّى تُصْرَفُونَ

32.             Fathalikumu Allahu rabbukumu alhaqqu famatha baAAda alhaqqi illa alddalalu faanna tusrafoona
Then the same Allâh is your real Râbb.  Then what else is left except going astray after Truth?  After all where you are being turned away?

كَذَلِكَ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ فَسَقُواْ أَنَّهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ

33.             Kathalika haqqat kalimatu rabbika AAala allatheena fasaqoo annahum la yuminoona
(O Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, see) In this way the Word of your Râbb has been proven true against those who disobeyed (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) that they will not believe.

قُلْ هَلْ مِن شُرَكَآئِكُم مَّن يَبْدَأُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ قُلِ اللّهُ يَبْدَأُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ فَأَنَّى تُؤْفَكُونَ

34.             Qul hal min shurakaikum man yabdao alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu quli Allahu yabdao alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu faanna tufakoona
Ask them: "Is there anyone among your taken deities who originates the creation and then repeats it?"   Say: "That is Only Allâh WHO originates the creation as well as repeats it, then on which wrong direction you are being lead?"

قُلْ هَلْ مِن شُرَكَآئِكُم مَّن يَهْدِي إِلَى الْحَقِّ قُلِ اللّهُ يَهْدِي لِلْحَقِّ أَفَمَن يَهْدِي إِلَى الْحَقِّ أَحَقُّ أَن يُتَّبَعَ أَمَّن لاَّ يَهِدِّيَ إِلاَّ أَن يُهْدَى فَمَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ

35.             Qul hal min shurakaikum man yahdee ila alhaqqi quli Allahu yahdee lilhaqqi afaman yahdee ila alhaqqi ahaqqu an yuttabaAAa amman la yahiddee illa an yuhda fama lakum kayfa tahkumoona
Ask them: "Is there anyone among your taken deities who guides toward the Truth?"  Say: "That is Only Allâh WHO guides toward the Truth.  Then just tell, the One WHO guides toward the Truth is more worthy to be followed, or the one who does not find the guidance oneself unless he is being guided?  After all what has happened to you, what wrong decisions do you make?"

وَمَا يَتَّبِعُ أَكْثَرُهُمْ إِلاَّ ظَنًّا إَنَّ الظَّنَّ لاَ يُغْنِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ شَيْئًا إِنَّ اللّهَ عَلَيمٌ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ

36.             Wama yattabiAAu aktharuhum illa thannan inna alththanna la yughnee mina alhaqqi shayan inna Allaha AAaleemun bima yafAAaloona
The fact is that the majority of them are merely following the suppositions and assumptions, whereas the assumptions do not fulfill the necessity of Truth.  Whatever they are doing Allâh Knows it very well.

وَمَا كَانَ هَـذَا الْقُرْآنُ أَن يُفْتَرَى مِن دُونِ اللّهِ وَلَـكِن تَصْدِيقَ الَّذِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَتَفْصِيلَ الْكِتَابِ لاَ رَيْبَ فِيهِ مِن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

37.             Wama kana hatha alquranu an yuftara min dooni Allahi walakin tasdeeqa allathee bayna yadayhi watafseela alkitabi la rayba feehi min rabbi alAAalameena
And this Al-Qur'ân is not such a thing that could be composed without the Revelation and Education of Allâh.  Whereas it is a confirmation of that which had already been revealed and the explanation of "The Book" (Al-Kitab).  There is no doubt in it that it is from the Sovereign of the universes (Râbb-ul-'Alamîn).

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَاهُ قُلْ فَأْتُواْ بِسُورَةٍ مِّثْلِهِ وَادْعُواْ مَنِ اسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن دُونِ اللّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

 38.             Am yaqooloona iftarahu qul fatoo bisooratin mithlihi waodAAoo mani istataAAtum min dooni Allahi in kuntum sadiqeena
Do these people say that the Messenger (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) has authored it himself?  Say if you are truthful in your this allegation then produce a Sûrah (Chapter) like it, and except One Allâh whomever you can call for help call them."

بَلْ كَذَّبُواْ بِمَا لَمْ يُحِيطُواْ بِعِلْمِهِ وَلَمَّا يَأْتِهِمْ تَأْوِيلُهُ كَذَلِكَ كَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الظَّالِمِينَ

39.             Bal kaththaboo bima lam yuheetoo biAAilmihi walamma yatihim taweeluhu kathalika kaththaba allatheena min qablihim faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu alththalimeena
The reality is that they negated (without any reason) whatever their knowledge could not grasp and yet the result of that has not come before them.  The same way those people who were before them had denied, then see what was the end-result of those wrongdoers (Zâlimûn).

وَمِنهُم مَّن يُؤْمِنُ بِهِ وَمِنْهُم مَّن لاَّ يُؤْمِنُ بِهِ وَرَبُّكَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُفْسِدِينَ

40.             Waminhum man yuminu bihi waminhum man la yuminu bihi warabbuka aAAlamu bialmufsideena
Some people among them will bring Faith and some will not and your Râbb Knows these falsifiers (Mufsidûn) very well. (R) 9

وَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقُل لِّي عَمَلِي وَلَكُمْ عَمَلُكُمْ أَنتُمْ بَرِيئُونَ مِمَّا أَعْمَلُ وَأَنَاْ بَرِيءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

41.             Wain kaththabooka faqul lee AAamalee walakum AAamalukum antum bareeoona mimma aAAmalu waana bareeon mimma taAAmaloona
If they deny you (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) then tell them: "My deeds are for me and your deeds are for you, whatever I do -- you are free from its accountability and whatever you are doing -- I am free from its accountability."

وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَسْتَمِعُونَ إِلَيْكَ أَفَأَنتَ تُسْمِعُ الصُّمَّ وَلَوْ كَانُواْ لاَ يَعْقِلُونَ

42.             Waminhum man yastamiAAoona ilayka afaanta tusmiAAu alssumma walaw kanoo la yaAAqiloona
There are many people among them who listen what you say, but will you make the deaf to hear even though they do not understand anything?

وَمِنهُم مَّن يَنظُرُ إِلَيْكَ أَفَأَنتَ تَهْدِي الْعُمْيَ وَلَوْ كَانُواْ لاَ يُبْصِرُونَ

43.             Waminhum man yanthuru ilayka afaanta tahdee alAAumya walaw kanoo la yubsiroona
There are many people among them who see you but will you show the path to the blinds even though they could not perceive (distinguish) anything?

إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يَظْلِمُ النَّاسَ شَيْئًا وَلَـكِنَّ النَّاسَ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ

44.             Inna Allaha la yathlimu alnnasa shayan walakinna alnnasa anfusahum yathlimoona
The Truth is that Allâh does not do cruelty to the people; the people themselves do cruelty to them.

وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ كَأَن لَّمْ يَلْبَثُواْ إِلاَّ سَاعَةً مِّنَ النَّهَارِ يَتَعَارَفُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ قَدْ خَسِرَ الَّذِينَ

 كَذَّبُواْ بِلِقَاء اللّهِ وَمَا كَانُواْ مُهْتَدِينَ

45.             Wayawma yahshuruhum kaan lam yalbathoo illa saAAatan mina alnnahari yataAAarafoona baynahum qad khasira allatheena kaththaboo biliqai Allahi wama kanoo muhtadeena
(Today they are intoxicated with this worldly life) And the Day when Allâh will gather them together then (they will feel the same worldly life) as if they had stayed for a while to get to know each other.  (That time it will be confirmed that) In fact the losers are those people who denied the meeting with Allâh and they were not at all on the right path.

وَإِمَّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ الَّذِي نَعِدُهُمْ أَوْ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُهُمْ ثُمَّ اللّهُ شَهِيدٌ عَلَى مَا يَفْعَلُونَ

46.             Waimma nuriyannaka baAAda allathee naAAiduhum aw natawaffayannaka failayna marjiAAuhum thumma Allahu shaheedun AAala ma yafAAaloona
The bad results with which WE are warning them -- whether WE show the part of it in your lifetime or take you (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) before it, after all they have to return to US and whatever they are doing Allâh is Witness over it.

وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ رَّسُولٌ فَإِذَا جَاء رَسُولُهُمْ قُضِيَ بَيْنَهُم بِالْقِسْطِ وَهُمْ لاَ يُظْلَمُونَ

47.             Walikulli ommatin rasoolun faitha jaa rasooluhum qudiya baynahum bialqisti wahum la yuthlamoona
There is a Rasool for each nation (Ummâh).  And when a Rasool comes to his nation then its decision is made with complete justice and no unjust is done to it.

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَى هَـذَا الْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

48.             Wayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeena
They ask if your this threat is true then after all when will it be fulfilled?

قُل لاَّ أَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِي ضَرًّا وَلاَ نَفْعًا إِلاَّ مَا شَاء اللّهُ لِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ إِذَا جَاء أَجَلُهُمْ

 فَلاَ يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً وَلاَ يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ

49.             Qul la amliku linafsee darran wala nafAAan illa ma shaa Allahu likulli ommatin ajalun itha jaa ajaluhum fala yastakhiroona saAAatan wala yastaqdimoona
Say: "I do not have the authority even to benefit or harm myself, all depends upon the Will of Allâh.  There is a respite time period for every nation (Ummâh), when this period is complete then there is no precedence or delay (in it) for a moment."

قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَتَاكُمْ عَذَابُهُ بَيَاتًا أَوْ نَهَارًا مَّاذَا يَسْتَعْجِلُ مِنْهُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ

50.             Qul araaytum in atakum AAathabuhu bayatan aw naharan matha yastaAAjilu minhu almujrimoona
Ask them, have you ever thought that if all of sudden the misery of Allâh comes in daytime or nighttime (then what can you do?) after all -- what is that thing for which these criminals (Mujrimûn) should wish to be hastened?

أَثُمَّ إِذَا مَا وَقَعَ آمَنْتُم بِهِ آلآنَ وَقَدْ كُنتُم بِهِ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ

51.             Athumma itha ma waqaAAa amantum bihi alana waqad kuntum bihi tastaAAjiloona
What -- when it overtakes you then you will believe it?--Now want to be saved?  Whereas you yourselves were demanding for it to come early!

ثُمَّ قِيلَ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ ذُوقُواْ عَذَابَ الْخُلْدِ هَلْ تُجْزَوْنَ إِلاَّ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ

52.            Thumma qeela lillatheena thalamoo thooqoo AAathaba alkhuldi hal tujzawna illa bima kuntum taksiboona
Then it will be said to the cruels that now taste the everlasting torment, whatever you have been earning for that what else recompense could be given to you?

وَيَسْتَنبِئُونَكَ أَحَقٌّ هُوَ قُلْ إِي وَرَبِّي إِنَّهُ لَحَقٌّ وَمَا أَنتُمْ بِمُعْجِزِينَ

53.             Wayastanbioonaka ahaqqun huwa qul ee warabbee innahu lahaqqun wama antum bimuAAjizeena
Then they again ask, is that what you say really true?  Say, "Yes, by my Râbb, it is of course true, and you do not have the power -- that you could stop it to happen." (R) 10       

وَلَوْ أَنَّ لِكُلِّ نَفْسٍ ظَلَمَتْ مَا فِي الأَرْضِ لاَفْتَدَتْ بِهِ وَأَسَرُّواْ النَّدَامَةَ لَمَّا رَأَوُاْ الْعَذَابَ وَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُم بِالْقِسْطِ وَهُمْ لاَ يُظْلَمُونَ

54.             Walaw anna likulli nafsin thalamat ma fee alardi laiftadat bihi waasarroo alnnadamata lamma raawoo alAAathaba waqudiya baynahum bialqisti wahum la yuthlamoona
If every such person, who has done wrong, possessed all that is on the earth, he/she will be willing to give it all as recompense to save himself/herself from this punishment.  When these people will see that misery then they will regret in their hearts.  But the decision will be made among them with complete justice; no wrong will be done to them.

أَلا إِنَّ لِلّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ أَلاَ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللّهِ حَقٌّ وَلَـكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ

55.             Ala inna lillahi ma fee alssamawati waalardi ala inna waAAda Allahi haqqun walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona
Listen! Whatever is in the skies and on the earth all that belongs to Allâh. Make note of it!  The Promise of Allâh is true, but most of the people do not know.

هُوَ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ

56.             Huwa yuhyee wayumeetu wailayhi turjaAAoona
HE is the One WHO gives life and HE is the One WHO causes death and you all have to return to HIM.

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَاءتْكُم مَّوْعِظَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَشِفَاء لِّمَا فِي الصُّدُورِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

57.             Ya ayyuha alnnasu qad jaatkum mawAAithatun min rabbikum washifaon lima fee alssudoori wahudan warahmatun lilmumineena
O people, an advice (Al-Qur'ân) has come to you from your Râbb.  This is the thing -- which is cure (medicine) of the diseases of the heart and it is guidance and blessing for those who embrace it.

قُلْ بِفَضْلِ اللّهِ وَبِرَحْمَتِهِ فَبِذَلِكَ فَلْيَفْرَحُواْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ

58.             Qul bifadli Allahi wabirahmatihi fabithalika falyafrahoo huwa khayrun mimma yajmaAAoona
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), Say: "This is Blessing and Mercy of Allâh that HE has sent this thing, the people should celebrate on it, this is better than all those things -- what these people are accumulating."

قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُم مَّا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ لَكُم مِّن رِّزْقٍ فَجَعَلْتُم مِّنْهُ حَرَامًا وَحَلاَلاً قُلْ آللّهُ أَذِنَ لَكُمْ

 أَمْ عَلَى اللّهِ تَفْتَرُونَ

59.             Qul araaytum ma anzala Allahu lakum min rizqin fajaAAaltum minhu haraman wahalalan qul allahu athina lakum am AAala Allahi taftaroona
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), ask them: "Have you people ever thought that the provisions Allâh had sent down for you; from it you yourselves have made something lawful and something unlawful."  Ask them: "Had Allâh given you permission for that?  Or are you falsifying against Allâh?"

وَمَا ظَنُّ الَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى اللّهِ الْكَذِبَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّ اللّهَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ

 وَلَـكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لاَ يَشْكُرُونَ

60.             Wama thannu allatheena yaftaroona AAala Allahi alkathiba yawma alqiyamati inna Allaha lathoo fadlin AAala alnnasi walakinna aktharahum la yashkuroona
Those people who falsify against Allâh what they think how they will be handled on the Day of Judgment?  Allâh intends to do generosity to the mankind but most of them are ungrateful. (R) 11

وَمَا تَكُونُ فِي شَأْنٍ وَمَا تَتْلُو مِنْهُ مِن قُرْآنٍ وَلاَ تَعْمَلُونَ مِنْ عَمَلٍ إِلاَّ كُنَّا عَلَيْكُمْ

شُهُودًا إِذْ تُفِيضُونَ فِيهِ وَمَا يَعْزُبُ عَن رَّبِّكَ مِن مِّثْقَالِ ذَرَّةٍ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلاَ

 فِي السَّمَاء وَلاَ أَصْغَرَ مِن ذَلِكَ وَلا أَكْبَرَ إِلاَّ فِي كِتَابٍ مُّبِينٍ

61.             Wama takoonu fee shanin wama tatloo minhu min quranin wala taAAmaloona min AAamalin illa kunna AAalaykum shuhoodan ith tufeedoona feehi wama yaAAzubu AAan rabbika min mithqali tharratin fee alardi wala fee alssamai wala asghara min thalika wala akbara illa fee kitabin mubeenun
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), in whatever situation you may be and whatever you recite from Al-Qur'ân, and O people, whatever you also do during all that WE keep watching you.  There is not a little thing in the skies and on the earth, either a tiny or a big, which is hidden from your Râbb and is not recorded in a Clear Book.

أَلا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَاء اللّهِ لاَ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

62.             Ala inna awliyaa Allahi la khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona
Listen! Those who are friends of Allâh (Auliyâ'), there is no fear or grieve for them,

الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَكَانُواْ يَتَّقُونَ

63.             Allatheena amanoo wakanoo yattaqoona
(They are those) Who brought Faith and who adopted the way of piety,

لَهُمُ الْبُشْرَى فِي الْحَياةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الآخِرَةِ لاَ تَبْدِيلَ لِكَلِمَاتِ اللّهِ ذَلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ

64.             Lahumu albushra fee alhayati alddunya wafee alakhirati la tabdeela likalimati Allahi thalika huwa alfawzu alAAatheemu
There are glad tidings for them in this worldly life as well as in the Hereafter.  The Words of Allâh cannot be changed.  This is the supreme success.

وَلاَ يَحْزُنكَ قَوْلُهُمْ إِنَّ الْعِزَّةَ لِلّهِ جَمِيعًا هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

 65.             Wala yahzunka qawluhum inna alAAizzata lillahi jameeAAan huwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), the remarks these people pass on you those should not grieve you the entire honor is in the authority of Allâh and HE Listens and Knows everything.

أَلا إِنَّ لِلّهِ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَات وَمَن فِي الأَرْضِ وَمَا يَتَّبِعُ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللّهِ شُرَكَاء إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلاَّ الظَّنَّ وَإِنْ هُمْ إِلاَّ يَخْرُصُونَ

66.             Ala inna lillahi man fee alssamawati waman fee alardi wama yattabiAAu allatheena yadAAoona min dooni Allahi shurakaa in yattabiAAoona illa alththanna wain hum illa yakhrusoona
Be aware! Either the inhabitants of the skies or the earth, they all belong to Allâh.  And those people who are calling upon some other deities (self made falls partners) except Allâh they are the only followers of suppositions and assumptions and are merely speculating.

هُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ لِتَسْكُنُواْ فِيهِ وَالنَّهَارَ مُبْصِرًا إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَسْمَعُونَ

67.             Huwa allathee jaAAala lakumu allayla litaskunoo feehi waalnnahara mubsiran inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yasmaAAoona
HE is Allâh WHO created night for you that (you) seek comfort in it and made the day bright.  There are Signs in it for those people who listen (the invitation of Prophet, Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, with open ears).

قَالُواْ اتَّخَذَ اللّهُ وَلَدًا سُبْحَانَهُ هُوَ الْغَنِيُّ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَات وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ إِنْ عِندَكُم مِّن سُلْطَانٍ بِهَـذَا أَتقُولُونَ عَلَى اللّهِ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ

68.             Qaloo ittakhatha Allahu waladan subhanahu huwa alghaniyyu lahu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi in AAindakum min sultanin bihatha ataqooloona AAala Allahi ma la taAAlamoona
The people said that Allâh has taken someone as a son.  Praise to Allâh!  HE is Free of all needs; whatever is in the skies and on the earth all that belongs to HIM.  What argument do you have for this saying?  Do you say those things about Allâh that are not in your knowledge?

قُلْ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى اللّهِ الْكَذِبَ لاَ يُفْلِحُونَ

69.             Qul inna allatheena yaftaroona AAala Allahi alkathiba la yuflihoona
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), say that those people who invent lie against Allâh they can never prosper.

مَتَاعٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُهُمْ ثُمَّ نُذِيقُهُمُ الْعَذَابَ الشَّدِيدَ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْفُرُونَ

70.             MataAAun fee alddunya thumma ilayna marjiAAuhum thumma nutheequhumu alAAathaba alshshadeeda bima kanoo yakfuroona
They can enjoy the pleasure of this transitory life of this world, then they have to return to US -- then WE shall make them to taste the severe punishment as recompense of that infidelity (Kufr) which they are committing. (R) 12

وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ نُوحٍ إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ يَا قَوْمِ إِن كَانَ كَبُرَ عَلَيْكُم مَّقَامِي وَتَذْكِيرِي

 بِآيَاتِ اللّهِ فَعَلَى اللّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ فَأَجْمِعُواْ أَمْرَكُمْ وَشُرَكَاءكُمْ ثُمَّ لاَ يَكُنْ أَمْرُكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ

 غُمَّةً ثُمَّ اقْضُواْ إِلَيَّ وَلاَ تُنظِرُونِ

71.             Waotlu AAalayhim nabaa noohin ith qala liqawmihi ya qawmi in kana kabura AAalaykum maqamee watathkeeree biayati Allahi faAAala Allahi tawakkaltu faajmiAAoo amrakum washurakaakum thumma la yakun amrukum AAalaykum ghummatan thumma iqdoo ilayya wala tunthirooni
Tell them the story of Nûh, the story of that time when he said to his nation that O people of my nation, "If my stay among you and waking you from the negligence by reciting the Revelation (Ayât) of Allâh has become intolerable for you, then my trust is in Allâh; you with all your deities (shorakâs) unanimously make a decision, and the plans you make -- think over it carefully so that nothing should remain hidden from you, then act upon it against me and do not give me any respite.

فَإِن تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَمَا سَأَلْتُكُم مِّنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلاَّ عَلَى اللّهِ وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ

72.             Fain tawallaytum fama saaltukum min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala Allahi waomirtu an akoona mina almuslimeena
You turned your faces away from my advice (then what harm have you done to me); I did not desire any reward from you, my reward is with Allâh.  And I have been ordered that I myself should become Muslim (either anyone accept it or not)"--

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُ فِي الْفُلْكِ وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ خَلاَئِفَ وَأَغْرَقْنَا الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا

 فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُنذَرِينَ

73.             Fakaththaboohu fanajjaynahu waman maAAahu fee alfulki wajaAAalnahum khalaifa waaghraqna allatheena kaththaboo biayatina faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almunthareena
They denied him and consequently WE saved him and those who were with him in the boat, and made them successors in the earth and drowned all those people who had denied OUR Revelation (Ayât).  Therefore see that what was the end of those people who were warned (and even then they did not believe).

ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِ رُسُلاً إِلَى قَوْمِهِمْ فَجَآؤُوهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَمَا كَانُواْ لِيُؤْمِنُواْ بِمَا

كَذَّبُواْ بِهِ مِن قَبْلُ كَذَلِكَ نَطْبَعُ عَلَى قُلوبِ الْمُعْتَدِينَ

74.             Thumma baAAathna min baAAdihi rusulan ila qawmihim fajaoohum bialbayyinati fama kanoo liyuminoo bima kaththaboo bihi min qablu kathalika natbaAAu AAala quloobi almuAAtadeena
Then after Nûh WE sent different Prophets toward their nations and they brought clear signs to them, but what they had denied before then (they) did not embrace it.  In this way WE seal the hearts of those who cross all the limits.

ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِم مُّوسَى وَهَارُونَ إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِ بِآيَاتِنَا فَاسْتَكْبَرُواْ وَكَانُو

اْ قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِينَ

75.             Thumma baAAathna min baAAdihim moosa waharoona ila firAAawna wamalaihi biayatina faistakbaroo wakanoo qawman mujrimeena
Then after them WE sent Mûsa and Hârûn with OUR Signs toward Fir'aun and his chiefs, but they boasted on their greatness and they were criminals (Mujrimûn) people.

فَلَمَّا جَاءهُمُ الْحَقُّ مِنْ عِندِنَا قَالُواْ إِنَّ هَـذَا لَسِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ

76.             Falamma jaahumu alhaqqu min AAindina qaloo inna hatha lasihrun mubeenun
Therefore when the truth came to them from US then they said that it is a clear magic.

قَالَ مُوسَى أَتقُولُونَ لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءكُمْ أَسِحْرٌ هَـذَا وَلاَ يُفْلِحُ السَّاحِرُونَ

77.             Qala moosa ataqooloona lilhaqqi lamma jaakum asihrun hatha wala yuflihu alssahiroona
Mûsa said: "You say it about the Truth when it has come before you?  Is this magic?  Whereas the magicians do not succeed."

قَالُواْ أَجِئْتَنَا لِتَلْفِتَنَا عَمَّا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءنَا وَتَكُونَ لَكُمَا الْكِبْرِيَاء فِي الأَرْضِ وَمَا

نَحْنُ لَكُمَا بِمُؤْمِنِينَ

78.             Qaloo ajitana litalfitana AAamma wajadna AAalayhi abaana watakoona lakuma alkibriyao fee alardi wama nahnu lakuma bimumineena
They said in response: "Have you come for the purpose to turn us away from that path (faith) on which we found our forefathers and the greatness of both of you should establish in the land?  We are not going to believe in your words."

وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ ائْتُونِي بِكُلِّ سَاحِرٍ عَلِيمٍ

79.             Waqala firAAawnu itoonee bikulli sahirin AAaleemin
And Fir'aun said (to his people): "Bring all expert magicians to me."--

فَلَمَّا جَاء السَّحَرَةُ قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَى أَلْقُواْ مَا أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ

80.             Falamma jaa alssaharatu qala lahum moosa alqoo ma antum mulqoona
When magicians came then Mûsa said to them: "Throw whatever you want to throw."

فَلَمَّا أَلْقَواْ قَالَ مُوسَى مَا جِئْتُم بِهِ السِّحْرُ إِنَّ اللّهَ سَيُبْطِلُهُ إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يُصْلِحُ عَمَلَ الْمُفْسِدِينَ

81.             Falamma alqaw qala moosa ma jitum bihi alssihru inna Allaha sayubtiluhu inna Allaha la yuslihu AAamala almufsideena
And when they threw all their devices then Mûsa said: "Whatever you have thrown is a magic, right now Allâh is going to nullify it, Allâh does not let the work of evildoers (Al-Mufsidûn) prosper.

وَيُحِقُّ اللّهُ الْحَقَّ بِكَلِمَاتِهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُجْرِمُونَ

82.             Wayuhiqqu Allahu alhaqqa bikalimatihi walaw kariha almujrimoona
And Allâh proves the Truth as Truth from HIS Words, (even though) it do not matter how much the criminals (Mujrimûn) hate it." (R) 13

فَمَا آمَنَ لِمُوسَى إِلاَّ ذُرِّيَّةٌ مِّن قَوْمِهِ عَلَى خَوْفٍ مِّن فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِمْ أَن يَفْتِنَهُمْ وَإِنَّ

 فِرْعَوْنَ لَعَالٍ فِي الأَرْضِ وَإِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الْمُسْرِفِينَ

83.             Fama amana limoosa illa thurriyyatun min qawmihi AAala khawfin min firAAawna wamalaihim an yaftinahum wainna firAAawna laAAalin fee alardi wainnahu lamina almusrifeena
(Look again that) No one embraced Mûsa from his nation except a few young people, because of the fear of Fir'aun and the fear of the chiefs of his own people (they had fear that) Fir'aun will punish them.  And the fact is that the Fir'aun had power on the earth and he was among those people who do not stop on any limit (Musrifûn).

وَقَالَ مُوسَى يَا قَوْمِ إِن كُنتُمْ آمَنتُم بِاللّهِ فَعَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلُواْ إِن كُنتُم مُّسْلِمِينَ

84.             Waqala moosa ya qawmi in kuntum amantum biAllahi faAAalayhi tawakkaloo in kuntum muslimeena
Mûsa said to his nation that: "O people, if you really have Faith in Allâh then trust in HIM if you are Muslims."

فَقَالُواْ عَلَى اللّهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا رَبَّنَا لاَ تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةً لِّلْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ

85.             Faqaloo AAala Allahi tawakkalna rabbana la tajAAalna fitnatan lilqawmi alththalimeena
They responded: "We put our Trust in Allâh Alone, O our Râbb do not let us suffer at the hands of criminals (Zâlimûn).

وَنَجِّنَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

86.             Wanajjina birahmatika mina alqawmi alkafireena
"And save us by YOUR Mercy from the infidels (Kafir)."

وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَى مُوسَى وَأَخِيهِ أَن تَبَوَّءَا لِقَوْمِكُمَا بِمِصْرَ بُيُوتًا وَاجْعَلُواْ بُيُوتَكُمْ قِبْلَةً

وَأَقِيمُواْ الصَّلاَةَ وَبَشِّرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

87.             Waawhayna ila moosa waakheehi an tabawwaa liqawmikuma bimisra buyootan waijAAaloo buyootakum qiblatan waaqeemoo alssalata wabashshiri almumineena
And WE inspired Mûsa and his brother (saying): "Get a few houses for your nation in Egypt and make your these houses as your Qiblah (place for worship) and establish prayer (As-Salât) and give glad tidings to the people with Faith."

وَقَالَ مُوسَى رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ آتَيْتَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلأهُ زِينَةً وَأَمْوَالاً فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا رَبَّنَا لِيُضِلُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِكَ رَبَّنَا اطْمِسْ عَلَى أَمْوَالِهِمْ وَاشْدُدْ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ فَلاَ يُؤْمِنُواْ حَتَّى يَرَوُاْ الْعَذَابَ الأَلِيمَ

88.             Waqala moosa rabbana innaka atayta firAAawna wamalaahu zeenatan waamwalan fee alhayati alddunya rabbana liyudilloo AAan sabeelika rabbana itmis AAala amwalihim waoshdud AAala quloobihim fala yuminoo hatta yarawoo alAAathaba alaleema
Mûsa prayed: "O our Râbb! YOU have given wealth and fame to Fir'aun and his chiefs in the worldly life.  O Râbb! Is it that they mislead people from YOUR Path?  O Râbb! Destroy their wealth and put such a seal on their hearts so that they should not bring Faith until they see the painful torment."

قَالَ قَدْ أُجِيبَت دَّعْوَتُكُمَا فَاسْتَقِيمَا وَلاَ تَتَّبِعَآنِّ سَبِيلَ الَّذِينَ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ

89.             Qala qad ojeebat daAAwatukuma faistaqeema wala tattabiAAanni sabeela allatheena la yaAAlamoona
Allâh said in response: "The prayers of you both have been accepted.  Remain steadfast and do not follow the path of those people who do not have knowledge."

وَجَاوَزْنَا بِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ الْبَحْرَ فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ فِرْعَوْنُ وَجُنُودُهُ بَغْيًا وَعَدْوًا حَتَّى إِذَا أَدْرَكَهُ الْغَرَقُ قَالَ آمَنتُ أَنَّهُ لا إِلِـهَ إِلاَّ الَّذِي آمَنَتْ بِهِ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ وَأَنَاْ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ

90.            Wajawazna bibanee israeela albahra faatbaAAahum firAAawnu wajunooduhu baghyan waAAadwan hatta itha adrakahu algharaqu qala amantu annahu la ilaha illa allathee amanat bihi banoo israeela waana mina almuslimeena
And WE let the Children of Israel to cross the sea.  Then Fir'aun and his armies followed them with the intention of cruelty and oppression.  Until when Fir'aun was drowning he cried out: "I have believed that there is no other real deity Except HIM (Lâ ilâha illa, Huwa), in WHOM the Children of Israel brought Faith, and I am also among those who have submitted in obedience (Muslims).

آلآنَ وَقَدْ عَصَيْتَ قَبْلُ وَكُنتَ مِنَ الْمُفْسِدِينَ

91.             Alana waqad AAasayta qablu wakunta mina almufsideena
(The response was given to him that) Now you bring Faith!  Whereas until now you had been disobeying and was among the mischief-makers (Mufsidûn).

فَالْيَوْمَ نُنَجِّيكَ بِبَدَنِكَ لِتَكُونَ لِمَنْ خَلْفَكَ آيَةً وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ النَّاسِ عَنْ آيَاتِنَا لَغَافِلُونَ

92.             Faalyawma nunajjeeka bibadanika litakoona liman khalfaka ayatan wainna katheeran mina alnnasi AAan ayatina laghafiloona
Now WE will only save your dead body (corpse) so that you become the sign of warning (advice) for the succeeding generations although there are many such people who neglect OUR Signs (Ayât). (R) 14

وَلَقَدْ بَوَّأْنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مُبَوَّأَ صِدْقٍ وَرَزَقْنَاهُم مِّنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ فَمَا اخْتَلَفُواْ حَتَّى جَاءهُمُ الْعِلْمُ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِي بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ

93.             Walaqad bawwana banee israeela mubawwaa sidqin warazaqnahum mina alttayyibati fama ikhtalafoo hatta jaahumu alAAilmu inna rabbaka yaqdee baynahum yawma alqiyamati feema kanoo feehi yakhtalifoona
WE gave an excellent place to the Children of Israel (Shâm and Misr) and provided them with best provisions of life.  Then they did not mutually disagree until the knowledge had come to them. Certainly, Allâh will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection for that thing in which they have been disputing.

فَإِن كُنتَ فِي شَكٍّ مِّمَّا أَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ فَاسْأَلِ الَّذِينَ يَقْرَؤُونَ الْكِتَابَ مِن قَبْلِكَ لَقَدْ جَاءكَ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلاَ تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُمْتَرِينَ

94.             Fain kunta fee shakkin mimma anzalnna ilayka faisali allatheena yaqraoona alkitaba min qablika laqad jaaka alhaqqu min rabbika fala takoonanna mina almumtareena
Now if you have any doubt about this guidance, which WE have revealed to you then ask from those people who have been reading the Book before you.  In fact the Truth has come to you from your Râbb, therefore you should not be among those people who are doubtful.

وَلاَ تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِآيَاتِ اللّهِ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ

95.             Wala takoonanna mina allatheena kaththaboo biayati Allahi fatakoona mina alkhasireena
And should not join those people who have denied the Revelation (Ayât) of Allâh otherwise you will be among those who are losers.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ حَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِمْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ

96.             Inna allatheena haqqat AAalayhim kalimatu rabbika la yuminoona
The fact is that those people against whom the Word (Wrath) of your Râbb has proven true, will not believe,

وَلَوْ جَاءتْهُمْ كُلُّ آيَةٍ حَتَّى يَرَوُاْ الْعَذَابَ الأَلِيمَ

97.             Walaw jaathum kullu ayatin hatta yarawoo alAAathaba alaleema
It does not matter which sign come before them, until they see the severe punishment coming.

فَلَوْلاَ كَانَتْ قَرْيَةٌ آمَنَتْ فَنَفَعَهَا إِيمَانُهَا إِلاَّ قَوْمَ يُونُسَ لَمَّآ آمَنُواْ كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمْ عَذَابَ

الخِزْيِ فِي الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَتَّعْنَاهُمْ إِلَى حِينٍ

98.             Falawla kanat qaryatun amanat fanafaAAaha eemanuha illa qawma yoonusa lamma amanoo kashafna AAanhum AAathaba alkhizyi fee alhayati alddunya wamattaAAnahum ila heenin
Then is there any example that a town had brought Faith by seeing the torment and its Faith had proved to be beneficial for it?  Except the nation of Yûnus (there is no other such example).  When that nation had brought Faith then albeit WE had postponed the torment of disgrace from them in this worldly life and had given them a chance to benefit from the worldly life for a fixed time period.

وَلَوْ شَاء رَبُّكَ لآمَنَ مَن فِي الأَرْضِ كُلُّهُمْ جَمِيعًا أَفَأَنتَ تُكْرِهُ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَكُونُواْ مُؤْمِنِينَ

99.             Walaw shaa rabbuka laamana man fee alardi kulluhum jameeAAan afaanta tukrihu alnnasa hatta yakoonoo mumineena
If it had been the Will of your Râbb (that all people should be believers and obedient in the earth) then all the people of the earth would have brought Faith.  Then will you force the people to become believers?

وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ أَن تُؤْمِنَ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِ اللّهِ وَيَجْعَلُ الرِّجْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ لاَ يَعْقِلُونَ

100.          Wama kana linafsin an tumina illa biithni Allahi wayajAAalu alrrijsa AAala allatheena la yaAAqiloona
No individual can bring Faith except by the Leave (Permission) of Allâh and it is the Way of Allâh that those people who do not use common sense HE throws filth on him or her.

قُلِ انظُرُواْ مَاذَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا تُغْنِي الآيَاتُ وَالنُّذُرُ عَن قَوْمٍ لاَّ يُؤْمِنُونَ

101.          Quli onthuroo matha fee alssamawati waalardi wama tughnee alayatu waalnnuthuru AAan qawmin la yuminoona
Tell them: "Whatever is on the earth and in the skies observe it with an open eyes."  Those people who do not want to bring Faith after all how the signs and warnings can benefit them?

فَهَلْ يَنتَظِرُونَ إِلاَّ مِثْلَ أَيَّامِ الَّذِينَ خَلَوْاْ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ قُلْ فَانتَظِرُواْ إِنِّي مَعَكُم مِّنَ الْمُنتَظِرِينَ

102.          Fahal yantathiroona illa mithla ayyami allatheena khalaw min qablihim qul faintathiroo innee maAAakum mina almuntathireena
Now for what (other) thing these people are waiting except this that they should see the same evil days, which those people have seen who passed away before them?  Tell them, well, "Wait, I also wait with you."

ثُمَّ نُنَجِّي رُسُلَنَا وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ كَذَلِكَ حَقًّا عَلَيْنَا نُنجِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

103.          Thumma nunajjee rusulana waallatheena amanoo kathalika haqqan AAalayna nunjee almumineena
Then (when such time comes) WE save OUR Rasools and those people who have brought Faith. This is OUR way.  This is obligatory for US to save the believers. (R) 15

قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِن كُنتُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِّن دِينِي فَلاَ أَعْبُدُ الَّذِينَ تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللّهِ

 وَلَـكِنْ أَعْبُدُ اللّهَ الَّذِي يَتَوَفَّاكُمْ وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

104.          Qul ya ayyuha alnnasu in kuntum fee shakkin min deenee fala aAAbudu allatheena taAAbudoona min dooni Allahi walakin aAAbudu Allaha allathee yatawaffakum waomirtu an akoona mina almumineena
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), Say it that: "O people, if you still are in any doubt about my Deen (Islam -- the way of life) then listen that I do not serve those whom you serve except Allâh but I only serve that Allâh WHO has control over your death.  I have been commanded that I should be among those who brought Faith.

وَأَنْ أَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ حَنِيفًا وَلاَ تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ

105.          Waan aqim wajhaka lilddeeni haneefan wala takoonanna mina almushrikeena
And I have been told -- to establish yourself on this Deen (Islam -- way of life) with dedication and sincerity, and never; never be among those who associate partners with Allâh (Mushrikûn).

وَلاَ تَدْعُ مِن دُونِ اللّهِ مَا لاَ يَنفَعُكَ وَلاَ يَضُرُّكَ فَإِن فَعَلْتَ فَإِنَّكَ إِذًا مِّنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

106.          Wala tadAAu min dooni Allahi ma la yanfaAAuka wala yadurruka fain faAAalta fainnaka ithan mina alththalimeena
And except Allâh do not call upon any such deity who can neither benefit nor harm you if you will do so then will be among the wrongdoers (Zâlimûn).

وَإِن يَمْسَسْكَ اللّهُ بِضُرٍّ فَلاَ كَاشِفَ لَهُ إِلاَّ هُوَ وَإِن يُرِدْكَ بِخَيْرٍ فَلاَ رَآدَّ لِفَضْلِهِ

 يُصَيبُ بِهِ مَن يَشَاء مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ

107.          Wain yamsaska Allahu bidurrin fala kashifa lahu illa huwa wain yuridka bikhayrin fala radda lifadlihi yuseebu bihi man yashao min AAibadihi wahuwa alghafooru alrraheemu
If Allâh puts you in any difficulty then except HIM there is no one who can put off this difficulty, and if HE intends to do any good for you then there is no one who can repel HIS Favor.  HE Blesses with HIS Bounty whomever HE Pleases among HIS Servants and HE is Forgiving and Most Merciful."

قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَاءكُمُ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ فَمَنِ اهْتَدَى فَإِنَّمَا يَهْتَدِي لِنَفْسِهِ وَمَن

ضَلَّ فَإِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَيْهَا وَمَا أَنَاْ عَلَيْكُم بِوَكِيلٍ

108.          Qul ya ayyuha alnnasu qad jaakumu alhaqqu min rabbikum famani ihtada fainnama yahtadee linafsihi waman dalla fainnama yadillu AAalayha wama ana AAalaykum biwakeelin
O Muhammad (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) tell them: "O people, the Truth has come to you from your Râbb.  Now whosoever adopts the right path his/her righteousness is beneficial for him/her, and whosoever remains misled his/her rebelliousness is destructive for him/her.  And I am not keeper or custodian (Wakîl) over you."

وَاتَّبِعْ مَا يُوحَى إِلَيْكَ وَاصْبِرْ حَتَّىَ يَحْكُمَ اللّهُ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الْحَاكِمِينَ

109.         WaittabiAA ma yooha ilayka waisbir hatta yahkuma Allahu wahuwa khayru alhakimeena
And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), you keep following that Guidance which is being sent down to you through Revelation, and be patient till Allâh gives HIS Verdict, and HE is the Best Judge. (R) 16

“Hûd- Hood” – (Makki - 11^th Surah)

Total Verses: 123   

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

الَر كِتَابٌ أُحْكِمَتْ آيَاتُهُ ثُمَّ فُصِّلَتْ مِن لَّدُنْ حَكِيمٍ خَبِيرٍ

1.                Aliflamra kitabun ohkimat ayatuhu thumma fussilat min ladun hakeemin khabeerin
(Alif-Lâm-Râ -- these letters are called prefixes, only Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala, knows the meanings).  This is a command, whose verses have been narrated perfectly and explained in detail, from the One (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) WHO is Wise and Aware,

أَلاَّ تَعْبُدُواْ إِلاَّ اللّهَ إِنَّنِي لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ وَبَشِيرٌ

2.                Alla taAAbudoo illa Allaha innanee lakum minhu natheerun wabasheerun
That you should not worship (anyone) except Allâh Alone.  From HIM I am a warner as well as a bearer of good news for you.

وَأَنِ اسْتَغْفِرُواْ رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُواْ إِلَيْهِ يُمَتِّعْكُم مَّتَاعًا حَسَنًا إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى وَيُؤْتِ كُلَّ ذِي فَضْلٍ فَضْلَهُ وَإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَإِنِّيَ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ كَبِيرٍ

3.               Waani istaghfiroo rabbakum thumma tooboo ilayhi yumattiAAkum mataAAan hasanan ila ajalin musamman wayuti kulla thee fadlin fadlahu wain tawallaw fainee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin kabeerin
And that you should seek forgiveness of your Râbb and return to HIM then HE will grant you good provisions of life for an appointed term and will grant the grace to the one who is owner of grace.  But if you turn away then I fear for you the torment of a Great Day.

إِلَى اللّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

4.                Ila Allahi marjiAAukum wahuwa AAala kulli shayin qadeerun
You all have to return to Allâh and HE can do everything.

أَلا إِنَّهُمْ يَثْنُونَ صُدُورَهُمْ لِيَسْتَخْفُواْ مِنْهُ أَلا حِينَ يَسْتَغْشُونَ ثِيَابَهُمْ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ

 وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ إِنَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ

5.                 Ala innahum yathnoona sudoorahum liyastakhfoo minhu ala heena yastaghshoona thiyabahum yaAAlamu ma yusirroona wama yuAAlinoona innahu AAaleemun bithati alssudoori
Look! These people turn aside their hearts -- so that (they) hide themselves from HIM.  Be aware, when they cover themselves with clothes, Allâh Knows their secrets as well as their open, HE is even aware of their secrets, which are in their hearts.
