Chapter 3

Total Verses: 286

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi

(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

253.         Tilka alrrusulu faddalna baAAdahum AAala baAAdin minhum man kallama Allahu warafaAAa baAAdahum darajatin waatayna AAeesa ibna maryama albayyinati waayyadnahu biroohi alqudusi walaw shaa Allahu ma iqtatala allatheena min baAAdihim min baAAdi ma jaathumu albayyinatu walakini ikhtalafoo faminhum man amana waminhum man kafara walaw shaa Allahu ma iqtataloo walakinna Allaha yafAAalu ma yureedu
The Rasools (whom WE have appointed for the guidance of the mankind) WE blessed them with better ranks above each other. There was someone among them with whom Allâh HIMSELF spoke directly, HE granted high rank to someone in other capacities, and likewise granted the clear signs to 'Iesa the son of Maryam and supported him with the Holy Spirit (Rûh-ul-Qudus). If Allâh wanted then it was not possible that after these Rasools those people who had seen clear signs would have fought against each other. But (it was not the will of Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala, -- HE should stop people with force from these differences, for this reason) they mutually differed, then a few brought Faith and a few adopted the path of infidelity (Kufr). Yes, (if) Allâh wanted, then they would have never fought, but Allâh does whatever HE likes. (R) 1

254.         Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo anfiqoo mimma razaqnakum min qabli an yatiya yawmun la bayAAun feehi wala khullatun wala shafaAAatun waalkafiroona humu alththalimoona
O people who have brought Faith, whatever provisions WE have granted you, spend from it before the Day arrives, when no buying or selling will take place, neither friendship will benefit and nor intercession will be of any avail. And in fact the cruels (Zâlimûn) are those who adopt the way of infidelity (Kufr).

255.         Allahu la ilaha illa huwa alhayyu alqayyoomu la takhuthuhu sinatun wala nawmun lahu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi man tha allathee yashfaAAu AAindahu illa biithnihi yaAAlamu ma bayna aydeehim wama khalfahum wala yuheetoona bishayin min AAilmihi illa bima shaa wasiAAa kursiyyuhu alssamawati waalarda wala yaooduhu hifthuhuma wahuwa alAAaliyyu alAAatheemu
Allâh the One WHO is Living and Eternal (Lâ ilâha illa Huwa), WHO is sustaining all the Universes, except HIM there is no Deity (ilâha). HE neither sleeps nor snoozes. Whatever is in the earth and in the skies -- belongs to HIM. There is no one who can intercession before HIM without HIS Permission? Whatever is before the people HE Knows it and HE is also aware of that what is hidden from them and they cannot comprehend anything from HIS Knowledge except that HE wanted to give them the knowledge of something by HIMSELF. HIS Sovereignty (Kursî) is all over the skies and the earth and it is not tiring for HIM to guard all these. Therefore HE Alone is Exalted and Absolute.

256.         La ikraha fee alddeeni qad tabayyana alrrushdu mina alghayyi faman yakfur bialttaghooti wayumin biAllahi faqadi istamsaka bialAAurwati alwuthqa la infisama laha waAllahu sameeAAun AAaleemun
There is no compulsion and pressure about the Deen (to accept the Islamic way of life). The right thing has been singled out from the wrong thoughts. Now whoever rejects the forces of Satan (Tâghût) and brings Faith in Allâh he/she has taken such a strong support that is unbreakable, and Allâh (WHOSE support he/she has taken) Hears and Knows everything.

257.          Allahu waliyyu allatheena amanoo yukhrijuhum mina alththulumati ila alnnoori waallatheena kafaroo awliyaohumu alttaghootu yukhrijoonahum mina alnnoori ila alththulumati olaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona
Those people who bring Faith, their protector and guardian (Walî) is Allâh and HE brings them into light from darkness. And those people, who choose the path of infidelity (Kufr), their helpers and supporters (Auliyâ) are the forces of Satan (Tâghût) and he (Satan) drags them to the darkness from the light. These are people who are bond to go to the Fire, where they will stay forever. (R) 2

258.         Alam tara ila allathee hajja ibraheema fee rabbihi an atahu Allahu almulka ith qala ibraheemu rabbiya allathee yuhyee wayumeetu qala ana ohyee waomeetu qala ibraheemu fainna Allaha yatee bialshshamsi mina almashriqi fati biha mina almaghribi fabuhita allathee kafara waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena
Have you not ponder upon the condition of that person who disputed with Ibrâhim? Disputed on the thing that who is the Râbb of Ibrâhim, and because Allâh had given him the kingdom. When Ibrâhim said: "My Râbb is the One WHO has control over life and death." Then he replied: "The life and death is in my control." Ibrâhim said: "Well, Allâh raises the sun from the east, you just raise it from the west." Hearing this that denier of the truth was baffled, but Allâh does not guide the evildoers (Zâlimûn) to the right path.

259.          Aw kaallathee marra AAala qaryatin wahiya khawiyatun AAala AAurooshiha qala anna yuhyee hathihi Allahu baAAda mawtiha faamatahu Allahu miata AAamin thumma baAAathahu qala kam labithta qala labithtu yawman aw baAAda yawmin qala bal labithta miata AAamin faonthur ila taAAamika washarabika lam yatasannah waonthur ila himarika walinajAAalaka ayatan lilnnasi waonthur ila alAAithami kayfa nunshizuha thumma naksooha lahman falamma tabayyana lahu qala aAAlamu anna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun
Or for an example consider that person, who passed by a town, which had fallen down on its roofs. He said: "The population that had been destroyed, how will Allâh bring it to life again?" On this Allâh seized his soul and he remained dead for a hundred year. Then Allâh granted him life again and asked him: "Tell, how long have you been resting?" He said: "I would have stayed for one day or a few hours." Allâh said: "You have remained in this state for hundred years. Now just look at your food and water it has not changed a bit. On the other side just look at your donkey (that its skeleton is decomposing). And WE have done so because WE want to make you a sign for the people. Then look how WE raise this skeleton of bones and cover it with skin and flesh". This way when the truth became quite clear to him, then he said: "I know that Allâh has the Power over everything."

260.         Waith qala ibraheemu rabbi arinee kayfa tuhyee almawta qala awa lam tumin qala bala walakin liyatmainna qalbee qala fakhuth arbaAAatan mina alttayri fasurhunna ilayka thumma ijAAal AAala kulli jabalin minhunna juzan thumma odAAuhunna yateenaka saAAyan waiAAlam anna Allaha AAazeezun hakeemun
And also imagine about the incident, when Ibrâhim had said: "My Owner, show me, how YOU give life to the dead." (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) Responded: "Do you not have Faith?" He submitted: "I do have Faith, but need satisfaction for my heart." (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) Responded: "Well, then take four birds, and tame them with you. Then put each of their pieces on each mountain. Then call them; they will come to you running. Know it well that Allâh is Omnipotent and All-Wise." (R) 3

261.         Mathalu allatheena yunfiqoona amwalahum fee sabeeli Allahi kamathali habbatin anbatat sabAAa sanabila fee kulli sunbulatin miatu habbatin waAllahu yudaAAifu liman yashao waAllahu wasiAAun AAaleemun
Those people, who spend their wealth for the cause of Allâh the example of their spending is like as to sow a seed and seven branches grow from it, and each branch has hundred grains. This way Allâh increases the deeds of anyone HE Wants. HE is
Bountiful as well as Wise.

262.          Allatheena yunfiqoona amwalahum fee sabeeli Allahi thumma la yutbiAAoona ma anfaqoo mannan wala athan lahum ajruhum AAinda rabbihim wala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona
Those people, who spend their wealth for the cause of Allâh and after spending, do not show off their kindness, or give grief, their reward is with their Râbb and for them there is no moment of fear and grieve.

263.         Qawlun maAAroofun wamaghfiratun khayrun min sadaqatin yatbaAAuha athan waAllahu ghaniyyun haleemun
A kind word and ignorance on some bitter talk is a lot better than that charity (Sadaqah) which has grief. Allâh is Affluent -- and Forbearance is one of HIS Attributes.

264.         Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tubtiloo sadaqatikum bialmanni waalatha kaallathee yunfiqu malahu riaa alnnasi wala yuminu biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri famathaluhu kamathali safwanin AAalayhi turabun faasabahu wabilun fatarakahu saldan la yaqdiroona AAala shayin mimma kasaboo waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alkafireena
O you who have brought Faith, do not destroy your charity (Sadaqah) by boasting on it or hurting the feelings like the one who spends ones wealth for the show off and do not have Faith in Allâh or in the Last Day. The example of his/her spending is like, as there was a rock, on which there was a layer of soil, when heavy rain fell on it, then all the soil washed away and only bare rock was left. Such people think that they have earned good by charity, (while) they do not gain any benefit out of it, and this is not the Custom of Allâh to show the Straight path to the infidels (Kafir).

265.         Wamathalu allatheena yunfiqoona amwalahumu ibtighaa mardati Allahi watathbeetan min anfusihim kamathali jannatin birabwatin asabaha wabilun faatat okulaha diAAfayni fain lam yusibha wabilun fatallun waAllahu bima taAAmaloona baseerun
Contrary to it those people who spend their wealth with sincerity and satisfaction of their hearts just to seek the pleasure of Allâh; the example of their spending is like, as there is a garden on a fertile earth (plateau). If heavy rainfalls then it harvests fruits two times, and if heavy rain do not fall even a light shower is sufficient for it. Whatever you do all is in the Sight of Allâh.

266.         Ayawaddu ahadukum an takoona lahu jannatun min nakheelin waaAAnabin tajree min tahtiha alanharu lahu feeha min kulli alththamarati waasabahu alkibaru walahu thurriyyatun duAAafao faasabaha iAAsarun feehi narun faihtaraqat kathalika yubayyinu Allahu lakumu alayati laAAallakum tatafakkaroona
Does anyone of you like it that he/she has a green garden, saturated with canals, loaded with date-palms and grapes and of all types of fruits, and it burns out with a fiery tornado right at that time when he/she is old and his/her minor children cannot do anything? In this way Allâh states HIS Word (Ayât) before you, so that you may ponder upon. (R) 4

267.         Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo anfiqoo min tayyibati ma kasabtum wamimma akhrajna lakum mina alardi wala tayammamoo alkhabeetha minhu tunfiqoona walastum biakhitheehi illa an tughmidoo feehi waiAAlamoo anna Allaha ghaniyyun hameedun
O people, who have brought Faith, the properties you have earned and whatever WE have produced from the earth for you, spend the best portion of it for the cause of Allâh. It should not be that to spend for HIS cause you try to pick the worst thing, whereas if anyone gives you the same thing, then you will never like to take it except that you may close your eyes to accept it. You should know that Allâh is Affluent and has all the Best Attributes.

268.         Alshshaytanu yaAAidukumu alfaqra wayamurukum bialfahshai waAllahu yaAAidukum maghfiratan minhu wafadlan waAllahu wasiAAun AAaleemun
Satan scares you with poverty and induces you to adopt the ways of indecency (Fahshâ), but Allâh gives you hope for HIS Forgiveness and Bounty. Allâh is most Affluent and All Wise.

269.         Yutee alhikmata man yashao waman yuta alhikmata faqad ootiya khayran katheeran wama yaththakkaru illa oloo alalbabi
Whom HE wants blesses with wisdom (Hikmah), and whoever gets wisdom (Hikmah), in fact he/she has gotten great wealth. From these things only those people learn lesson who are wise.

270.         Wama anfaqtum min nafaqatin aw nathartum min nathrin fainna Allaha yaAAlamuhu wama lilththalimeena min ansarin
Whatever you have spent and whatever offering you have intended, Allâh knows about it, and there is no helper for the evildoers (Zâlimûn).

271.         In tubdoo alssadaqati faniAAimma hiya wain tukhfooha watutooha alfuqaraa fahuwa khayrun lakum wayukaffiru AAankum min sayyiatikum waAllahu bima taAAmaloona khabeerun
If you give your charity openly, it is good, but if you secretly give to the needy, that is the best for you. This act washes away lots of your sins. And whatever you do Allâh is Aware of it.

272.         Laysa AAalayka hudahum walakinna Allaha yahdee man yashao wama tunfiqoo min khayrin falianfusikum wama tunfiqoona illa ibtighaa wajhi Allahi wama tunfiqoo min khayrin yuwaffa ilaykum waantum la tuthlamoona
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), you do not have the responsibility to give guidance to the people. Allâh Alone gives the guidance to whom HE wants. And whatever you spend in charity that is good for your own-self. After all you spend -- to seek the pleasure of Allâh. Whatever wealth you will spend in charity, full reward will be given to you for it and you will not be deprived from any of your rights.

273.         Lilfuqarai allatheena ohsiroo fee sabeeli Allahi la yastateeAAoona darban fee alardi yahsabuhumu aljahilu aghniyaa mina alttaAAaffufi taAArifuhum biseemahum la yasaloona alnnasa ilhafan wama tunfiqoo min khayrin fainna Allaha bihi AAaleemun
Especially those needy people deserve the charities who have pledged themselves for the cause of Allâh and they cannot move around in the land to earn their livelihood. The one -- who does not know them looking on their modesty -- thinks that they are wealthy. You can recognize their inner condition by their faces. But they are not such people who go after people and beg from them. To support them whatever you will spend that will not be hidden from Allâh. (R) 5

274.         Allatheena yunfiqoona amwalahum biallayli waalnnahari sirran waAAalaniyatan falahum ajruhum AAinda rabbihim wala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona
Those people who spend their wealth secretly and openly by night and day their reward is with their Râbb and for them there is no fear and grieve.

275.         Allatheena yakuloona alrriba la yaqoomoona illa kama yaqoomu allathee yatakhabbatuhu alshshaytanu mina almassi thalika biannahum qaloo innama albayAAu mithlu alrriba waahalla Allahu albayAAa waharrama alrriba faman jaahu mawAAithatun min rabbihi faintaha falahu ma salafa waamruhu ila Allahi waman AAada faolaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona
But those people who take the interest (Ribâ) their condition is like that person whom Satan (Shaitân) has made crazy by his touch. And the reason for their being in this condition is that they say, "trade is also like an interest (Ribâ)”, whereas Allâh has made commerce Lawful (Halâl) and interest (Ribâ) unlawful (Harâm). Therefore whoever receives this advice from his/her Râbb and stops taking interest (Ribâ), then whatever he/she has taken before, has taken, his/her case is with Allâh. And after this commandment whoever repeats this act, he/she is a resident of hell – where he/she will remain forever.

276.         Yamhaqu Allahu alrriba wayurbee alssadaqati waAllahu la yuhibbu kulla kaffarin atheemin
Allâh eradicates interest (Ribâ) and gives growth to charity (Sadaqât). And Allâh does not like any ungrateful wrongdoer person.

277.         Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati waaqamoo alssalata waatawoo alzzakata lahum ajruhum AAinda rabbihim wala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona
Yes, those people who bring Faith and do good deeds and establish prayer (As-Salât) and pay the poor-dues (Zakât), without any doubt their reward is with their Râbb and for them there is no fear and grieve.

278.         Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ittaqoo Allaha watharoo ma baqiya mina alrriba in kuntum mumineena
O people, who have brought Faith, fear Allâh and give up whatever your interest (Ribâ) has remained with the people, if you really have brought Faith.

279.         Fain lam tafAAaloo fathanoo biharbin mina Allahi warasoolihi wain tubtum falakum ruoosu amwalikum la tathlimoona wala tuthlamoona
But if you did not do so, then beaware that Allâh and HIS Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) has announced war against you. Even now, repent (and leave the interest), then you are only entitled to receive your principal. Neither you oppress nor you be oppressed.

280.         Wain kana thoo AAusratin fanathiratun ila maysaratin waan tasaddaqoo khayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona
(If) Your debtor is in a hardship, then give him/her time till it is easy for him/her, and if you give it as charity, then it is best for you, if you understand.

281.         Waittaqoo yawman turjaAAoona feehi ila Allahi thumma tuwaffa kullu nafsin ma kasabat wahum la yuthlamoona
Save your-self from disgrace and misery of the Day -- when you will return to Allâh, there every person shall be rewarded for the good or the bad deeds he/she has earned and no unjust ever will be done to anyone. (R) 6

O people, who have brought Faith, when you deal with each other in debt for a fixed period of time, write it down. Between the parties one person should write it with justice. Whom Allâh has given the ability to read and write he/she should not refuse to write. He/she should write and who incurs the liability (the one who is borrowing) should dictate, and he/she must fear Allâh his/her Râbb, that he/she should not add or delete anything from the accepted terms. But if the borrower is mentally unsound, or weak, or is unable to give dictation, then his/her guardian should give the dictation with justice. Then among your own men get two witnesses on it. If two men are not available, then there should be one man and two women so that if one woman forgets the other should remind her. These witnesses should be from among such people, whose witness is popular (considered trustworthy) among you. When the witnesses are asked to testify, they should not refuse. Whether the matter is small or big, do not delay to put it in writing with its settled term period. In the Sight of Allâh this action is more just for you, it makes easy to establish the evidence, and it helps to prevent your doubts and mistrusts. Yes the trading you do on the spot among yourselves, if you do not write it down then there is no harm in it, but do take witnesses when you make a business contract. Do not harass writer and the witnesses. If you will do so, then (you) will commit sin. Save yourself from the anger of Allâh. HE (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) teaches you to adopt the right way of action and HE has Knowledge of everything.

If you are on a journey and could not find a writer to write the agreement, then conduct your business on the security of backing (Advance) taken in hand. If anyone among you conducts business trusting other, then the one who has been trusted, he/she should fulfill the trust and fear his/her Râbb, Allâh. And never conceal the testimony. Who conceals the testimony; his/her heart is stained with sin. And Allâh is not unaware of your deeds. (R) 7

Whatever is in the skies and in the earth all that belongs to Allâh. Whether you disclose the secrets of your heart, or conceal it; however Allâh will call you to account for it. Then HE has the authority, to forgive whom HE wants and to punish whom HE wants. Allâh has Power over everything.

Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) has brought Faith in the guidance that has been revealed on him from his Râbb. And those people who believe in this Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), they have also accepted this guidance from their hearts. They all believe in Allâh and HIS Angels and HIS Books and HIS Rasools and they say: "We do not isolate the Rasools of Allâh from each other, we heard the command and submitted to it. Our Owner, we seek YOUR Forgiveness and we have to return to YOU."

Allâh does not put burden of intense responsibility on any soul than his/her capacity. Whatever good each person has earned, the fruit of it is for him/her and the evil that he/she has earned; the burden for it is on him/her. (O you who have brought Faith, you should supplicate like this) O our Râbb, the sins we commit mistakenly, do not hold us accountable on it. Master; do not put the burden on us, which YOU had put on the people before us. O Râbb, do not put that burden on us for which we do not have the capacity to carry. Be lenient to us, grant us forgiveness, have mercy on us. YOU are our Protector and Supporter (Maulâ); help us against the infidels (Kafir). (R) 8

(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

الم

1.                Alif-Lâm-Mîm. (Alif-Lâm-Mîm -- these are called prefixes, muqatta’at, only Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala, knows the real meanings).

2.                Allahu la ilaha illa huwa alhayyu alqayyoomu
Allâh the One WHO is Ever Living, WHO is Sustaining all the Universes; in fact there is no deity (ilâha) except HIM (Lâ ilahâ illa Huwa).

3.                Nazzala AAalayka alkitaba bialhaqqi musaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi waanzala alttawrata waalinjeela
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) HE revealed this Book (Al-Qur'ân) to you, which has brought the truth and is confirming those Scriptures, which had come before it. Before it HE has revealed the Taurât and the Injeel,

4.                Min qablu hudan lilnnasi waanzala alfurqana inna allatheena kafaroo biayati Allahi lahum AAathabun shadeedun waAllahu AAazeezun thoo intiqamin
For the guidance of mankind, and HE has revealed the criterion (which gives judgment between right and wrong). Now those people who refuse to accept the revelation of Allâh they will certainly get severe punishment. Allâh has infinite power and paybacks the evil.

5.                Inna Allaha la yakhfa AAalayhi shayon fee alardi wala fee alssamai
Nothing of the earth and the skies is hidden from Allâh.

6.                Huwa allathee yusawwirukum fee alarhami kayfa yashao la ilaha illa huwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu
HE is the One, WHO gives you shape, as HE wants -- in the wombs of your mothers. There is no deity except the Omnipotent the All Wise (Lâ ilâha illa Huwa).

7.                Huwa allathee anzala AAalayka alkitaba minhu ayatun muhkamatun hunna ommu alkitabi waokharu mutashabihatun faamma allatheena fee quloobihim zayghun fayattabiAAoona ma tashabaha minhu ibtighaa alfitnati waibtighaa taweelihi wama yaAAlamu taweelahu illa Allahu waalrrasikhoona fee alAAilmi yaqooloona amanna bihi kullun min AAindi rabbina wama yaththakkaru illa oloo alalbabi
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) HE is the One WHO has revealed this Book (Al-Qur'ân) to you. In this Book there are two types of Verses: The Absolute (Muhkamat, plain and clear, truthful), which are the real foundation of this Book and the other are Symbolic (Mutashabihat, metaphoricals, which are helpful for your understanding). Those people, who have doubts in their hearts, in search of mischief they always follow the Symbolic (Mutashabihat, legend, conceptual happening, world of unseen are described in similes -- for example -- Image of Allâh, HIS Throne, HIS Hand, HIS Book of Decrees, etc.) and try to give them meanings, whereas no one except Allâh knows the real meanings of those. On the other hand those people who have in depth knowledge, they say: "We have Faith in these, these all are from our Râbb." And the truth is that only the wise people get the right lesson from anything.

8.                Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana baAAda ith hadaytana wahab lana min ladunka rahmatan innaka anta alwahhabu
They keep praying to Allâh that: "Our Râbb! While YOU have put us on the straight path, then do not let our hearts deviate. Grant us mercy from YOUR Own Generosity that YOU are the real Grantor of the Bounties.

9.                Rabbana innaka jamiAAu alnnasi liyawmin la rayba feehi inna Allaha la yukhlifu almeeAAada
Our Râbb! One Day YOU are surely going to gather all the people, there is no doubt in its coming. YOU are never going to deviate from YOUR Promise."(R) 9

10.            Inna allatheena kafaroo lan tughniya AAanhum amwaluhum wala awladuhum mina Allahi shayan waolaika hum waqoodu alnnari
Those people who have adopted the path of infidelity (Kufr), neither their wealth nor their offspring will benefit them against Allâh. They will become fuel of the Hell.

11.            Kadabi ali firAAawna waallatheena min qablihim kaththaboo biayatina faakhathahumu Allahu bithunoobihim waAllahu shadeedu alAAiqabi
Their end will be like, as it has been of the companions of Fir'aun and of the disobedients before them that they denied the revelation (Ayât) of Allâh -- the consequence was that Allâh caught them for their sins and that Allâh is Severe in punishment.

12.            Qul lillatheena kafaroo satughlaboona watuhsharoona ila jahannama wabisa almihadu
Therefore O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), those people who have refused to accept your invitation, tell them that the time is near, when you will be conquered and driven to hell and hell is the worst place."

13.            Qad kana lakum ayatun fee fiatayni iltaqata fiatun tuqatilu fee sabeeli Allahi waokhra kafiratun yarawnahum mithlayhim raya alAAayni waAllahu yuayyidu binasrihi man yashao inna fee thalika laAAibratan liolee alabsari
There was a sign of warning for you in those two groups, who faced each other (at Badr). One group was fighting for the Cause of Allâh and the other was a group of infidels. The observers were observing that the group of infidels is twice in number as of a group of believers. But (result proved that) Allâh supports with HIS Victory whoever HE pleases. There is a great lesson hidden in this for those who have wisdom.

14.            Zuyyina lilnnasi hubbu alshshahawati mina alnnisai waalbaneena waalqanateeri almuqantarati mina alththahabi waalfiddati waalkhayli almusawwamati waalanAAami waalharthi thalika mataAAu alhayati alddunya waAllahu AAindahu husnu almaabi
For the people -- the temptations of life, women, offspring, heap of gold and silver, the selected horses, the cattle and agriculture lands, are made very tempting, but all these are the provisions of temporary life of this world. In fact the best destination is with Allâh.

Say: "Do I tell you what the best thing from these is? Those people who adopt the way of piety (Al-Muttaqûn), for them there are Gardens with their Râbb, underneath which canals will be flowing, there they will have eternal life, the chaste spouse will be their companions (Azwâjun Mutahharatun) and they will be bestowed with the favor of Allâh. Allâh watches closely the behavior of HIS servants.

16.            Allatheena yaqooloona rabbana innana amanna faighfir lana thunoobana waqina AAathaba alnnari
These are those people, who say: "Our Râbb, we brought Faith, forgive our mistakes and save us from the Hellfire."

17.            Alssabireena waalssadiqeena waalqaniteena waalmunfiqeena waalmustaghfireena bialashari
These are the people who are patient, upright, obedient and generous and in the last hours of night they pray to Allâh for HIS Forgiveness.

18.            Shahida Allahu annahu la ilaha illa huwa waalmalaikatu waoloo alAAilmi qaiman bialqisti la ilaha illa huwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu
"Allâh HIMSELF has testified it, that there is no deity (ilâha) except HIM, and the angels and the people with knowledge have given (the same testimony). HE is firm in Justice. In fact except HIM the All-Wise there is no deity (Lâ ilâh illa Huwa)."

19.            Inna alddeena AAinda Allahi alislamu wama ikhtalafa allatheena ootoo alkitaba illa min baAAdi ma jaahumu alAAilmu baghyan baynahum waman yakfur biayati Allahi fainna Allaha sareeAAu alhisabi
To Allâh the Deen (the way to live a life) is only Islâm. Those people, whom the Scripture was given whatever different ways they have adopted except this Deen, there was no other reason for their this behavior except that they did so to do unjust with each other after knowledge had come and whoever refuses to obey the orders and guidance of Allâh it does not take longer for Allâh to call them to account.

20.            Fain hajjooka faqul aslamtu wajhiya lillahi wamani ittabaAAani waqul lillatheena ootoo alkitaba waalommiyyeena aaslamtum fain aslamoo faqadi ihtadaw wain tawallaw fainnama AAalayka albalaghu waAllahu baseerun bialAAibadi
Now O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) if these people dispute with you then tell them: "I and my followers have submitted to Allâh." Then ask both who possess Scripture and those who do not hold Scripture: "Have you also submitted yourself to HIM?" If they have then they are on the right path, and if they turn their backs then your responsibility was only to convey the message. Then Allâh HIMSELF is watching over the matters of HIS servants. (R) 10

21.            Inna allatheena yakfuroona biayati Allahi wayaqtuloona alnnabiyyeena bighayri haqqin wayaqtuloona allatheena yamuroona bialqisti mina alnnasi fabashshirhum biAAathabin aleemin
Those people who refuse to accept the orders and guidance (Ayât) of Allâh and kill HIS Messengers in falsehood and are after the lives of those people who from among the mankind rise up to establish the justice, give them good news for the painful punishment.

22.            Olaika allatheena habitat aAAmaluhum fee alddunya waalakhirati wama lahum min nasireena
These are those people whose deeds have been destroyed both in this world and as well as in the Hereafter, and no one is their helper.

23.             Alam tara ila allatheena ootoo naseeban mina alkitabi yudAAawna ila kitabi Allahi liyahkuma baynahum thumma yatawalla fareequn minhum wahum muAAridoona
Have you not seen those people who received a portion from the knowledge of Scripture, what is their behavior? When they are invited towards the Book of Allâh so that it gives judgment among them, then one party among them avoids it and turns away from coming towards this judgment.

24.            Thalika biannahum qaloo lan tamassana alnnaru illa ayyaman maAAdoodatin wagharrahum fee deenihim ma kanoo yaftaroona
Their this behavior is because they say: "The Hell Fire will not even touch us and if ever the punishment of the Hell will be given to us then it will be only for a few days." Their self-made beliefs have put them in great misunderstanding about their Deen (Way of Life).

But what will happen to them when WE will gather them together on that Day which has to come for sure? That day each person will be rewarded for what he/she has earned and no injustice will be done to anyone.

Say, O Allâh Owner of the Universe, whom YOU want, give the kingdom and from whom YOU want take it away. Whom YOU want give honor -- and humiliate whom YOU want. All good is in YOUR Power. No doubt, YOU have Power over everything.

YOU bring the night entering into the day and the day into the night. YOU bring the living out of the dead and the dead out of the living. And whomsoever YOU want give the provisions without limits.

The believers should never take the infidels as their friends and helpers or protectors (Auliyâ) except the people with faith. Whoever will do so; he/she has no relation with Allâh. Yes it is forgiven that if you do this just to save yourself from their cruelty. But Allâh warns you to fear HIM and you have to return to Allâh.

29.            Qul in tukhfoo ma fee sudoorikum aw tubdoohu yaAAlamhu Allahu wayaAAlamu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi waAllahu AAala kulli shayin qadeerun
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam), warn the people that whatever is in their hearts whether they hide it or disclose, anyhow Allâh knows it, nothing of the skies and the earth is beyond HIS knowledge and HIS kingdom is prevailing over everything.

That Day is approaching when every person will get fruit for his/her deeds; either he/she has done evil or good. That Day a person will wish that still this day should be far away from him/her, Allâh makes you to fear HIM and HE is Well-wisher of HIS servants. (R) 11

31.            Qul in kuntum tuhibboona Allaha faittabiAAoonee yuhbibkumu Allahu wayaghfir lakum thunoobakum waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam) tell the people: "If you really love Allâh then follow me, Allâh will love you and forgive you of your sins. HE is Oft-Forgiving and Most Merciful."

32.            Qul ateeAAoo Allaha waalrrasoola fain tawallaw fainna Allaha la yuhibbu alkafireena
Tell them: "To embrace the obedience of Allâh and Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)." Then if they do not accept your invitation, then of course it is not possible that Allâh love such people, who refuse to obey HIM and HIS Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

33.            Inna Allaha istafa adama wanoohan waala ibraheema waala AAimrana AAala alAAalameena
Allâh had chosen Adam, Nûh, the family of Ibrâhim, and the family of 'Imrân (for the Prophethood) preferring them above all the people of the world ('Alamîn).

34.             Thurriyyatan baAAduha min baAAdin waAllahu sameeAAun AAaleemun
These were the people of continuation; who were progeny of one another. Allâh Hears and Knows everything.

(HE was listening at that time) When 'Imrân’s wife was saying: "O my Râbb, I dedicate my child to YOU who is in my womb, he/she will be devoted for YOUR Service. Please accept my submission. YOU Hear and Know everything."

And when she gave birth to a baby girl she said: "My Râbb, I have given birth to a girl
--whereas whatever she had delivered, Allâh already had the knowledge of it--and a boy is not like a girl. Well, I name her Maryam and I give her and her forthcoming offspring in YOUR Protection from the mischief of the outcasted Satan (Shaitan)."

Eventually her Râbb accepted this girl with pleasure, raised her as very good girl, and appointed Zakariyâ as her guardian. Whenever Zakariyâ went to see her in the sanctuary (Al-Mihrâb) he found something with her to eat. He asked: "Maryam, from where did you get this? She replied, “ It has come from Allâh”, whomsoever Allâh wants gives provisions (of life) without limits.

38.             Hunalika daAAa zakariyya rabbahu qala rabbi hab lee min ladunka thurriyyatan tayyibatan innaka sameeAAu aldduAAai
After seeing all that Zakariyâ called upon his Râbb: "O my Râbb, give me a righteous child as YOUR special favor. YOU are the only WHO answers the prayers."

In response the Angel called, while he was offering prayer standing in sanctuary (Al-Mihrâb), "Allâh gives you glad tidings of Yahya. He will come from Allâh as a testifier of the commandment. He will have the qualities of leadership and greatness. He will be a great ruler. He will be appointed at the rank of Prophethood and will be counted among the nobles."

40.             Qala rabbi anna yakoonu lee ghulamun waqad balaghaniya alkibaru waimraatee AAaqirun qala kathalika Allahu yafAAalu ma yashao
Zakariyâ said: "O Râbb, how will I have a son? I have grown too old and my wife is barren." A reply came: "It will be, whatever Allâh wants does it."

41.             Qala rabbi ijAAal lee ayatan qala ayatuka alla tukallima alnnasa thalathata ayyamin illa ramzan waothkur rabbaka katheeran wasabbih bialAAashiyyi waalibkari
He humbly requested: "O Master then appoint some sign for me." It was said: "The sign is that you will not (or could not) speak to the people for three days except with gestures/signs. During this period praise your Râbb too much and glorify HIM day and night." (R) 12

42.             Waith qalati almalaikatu ya maryamu inna Allaha istafaki watahharaki waistafaki AAala nisai alAAalameena
Then time came when Angel said to Maryam: "O Maryam, Allâh has exalted you and granted purification and has chosen you for HIS Service in preference to all the women of the world ('Alamîn)."

43.             Ya maryamu oqnutee lirabbiki waosjudee wairkaAAee maAAa alrrakiAAeena
O Maryam, "Submit yourself in an obedience to your Râbb, prostrate yourself before HIM, and bow down (Irkâ'i) with others who are bowing down (Ar-Râki'ûn) before HIM."

O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), these are the news of unseen (Ghaib) which WE are revealing to you otherwise you were not present there -- at the time when the servants of Haical (name of a temple) were throwing their pens to decide, who should be the guardian of Maryam, and nor you were present at that time when a dispute arouse among them.

And when the Angel said: "O Maryam, Allâh gives you glad tidings with a Word from HIM. His name will be Messiah 'Iesa the son of Maryam (Messiah ‘Iesa ibne-Maryam), (he) will be honorable in this world as well as in the Hereafter, (he) will be among those who are Favored by Allâh,

46.             Wayukallimu alnnasa fee almahdi wakahlan wamina alssaliheena
(He) Will also speak to the people in the cradle and reaching to an old age, and he will be the righteous person."

After hearing this Maryam said: "O my Râbb how I shall have a child, no man has ever touched me." A response came: "Even then it shall be so, Allâh creates whatever HE wants. When HE decides to do anything HE only says ‘Be’ and ‘It is’."

48.             WayuAAallimuhu alkitaba waalhikmata waalttawrata waalinjeela
(In continuing their message the Angel said): "And Allâh will teach him the Book and Wisdom (Al-Hikmah), will give him the knowledge of the Taurât and the Injeel.

Israel he said) "I have come to you from your Râbb with a proof. I make a statue of bird from clay in your presence and breathe into it; it becomes bird with the command of Allâh. With the commandment of Allâh I heal the born blind and the lepers, and with Leave of Allâh I bring the dead to life. I tell you what you eat and what you store in your houses. There is a great sign for you in it if you are going to bring Faith.

And I have come to confirm the teaching and guidance of the Taurât, which is present in my time. And I have come to make some of those things lawful to you, which had been made unlawful to you. Look! I have come to you from your Râbb with sign, therefore fear Allâh and obey me.

51.             Inna Allaha rabbee warabbukum faoAAbudoohu hatha siratun mustaqeemun
Allâh is my Râbb and as well as your Râbb, therefore you worship HIM (Alone), this is the Straight Path."

52.             Falamma ahassa AAeesa minhumu alkufra qala man ansaree ila Allahi qala alhawariyyoona nahnu ansaru Allahi amanna biAllahi waishhad bianna muslimoona
When 'Iesa felt that the Children of Israel are inclined towards infidelity and denial then he said: "Who becomes my helper in the Path of Allâh?" The disciples (Al-Hawâriûn) responded: "We are the helpers of Allâh we have brought Faith in Allâh -- you should be witness that we are Muslims (the one who submits to Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala, in obedience).

53.             Rabbana amanna bima anzalta waittabaAAna alrrasoola faoktubna maAAa alshshahideena
Our Owner, we have accepted the command that YOU have revealed and have accepted the leadership of the Rasool, write our names among the testifiers."

54.             Wamakaroo wamakara Allahu waAllahu khayru almakireena
Then the children of
Israel started making secret plans (against Iesa). In response Allâh also made HIS Secret Plan and in such Plans Allâh is the Best. (R) 13

55.             Ith qala Allahu ya AAeesa innee mutawaffeeka warafiAAuka ilayya wamutahhiruka mina allatheena kafaroo wajaAAilu allatheena ittabaAAooka fawqa allatheena kafaroo ila yawmi alqiyamati thumma ilayya marjiAAukum faahkumu baynakum feema kuntum feehi takhtalifoona
(That was a secret Plan of Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) When HE said: "O 'Iesa, now I will call you back and raise you up towards MYSELF and (I) will purify you (means from their company and from their filthy environment) from those who have denied you and (I) will give supremacy to your followers upon those who have denied you till the Day of Resurrection. Then finally you all have to return to ME, then I will give MY judgment for those matters in which you have disputed.

56.             Faamma allatheena kafaroo faoAAaththibuhum AAathaban shadeedan fee alddunya waalakhirati wama lahum min nasireena
I will punish those people who have adopted the attitude of infidelity (Kufr) in this world as well as in the Hereafter and they will not find any helper,

57.             Waamma allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati fayuwaffeehim ojoorahum waAllahu la yuhibbu alththalimeena
And those people who have adopted the path of Faith and righteousness they will be paid in full for their good deeds and (know it well that) Allâh does not love the cruel (Zâlimûn)."

58.             Thalika natloohu AAalayka mina alayati waalththikri alhakeemi
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam) these Verses (Ayâts) and statements are full of Wisdom, which WE are narrating to you.

59.             Inna mathala AAeesa AAinda Allahi kamathali adama khalaqahu min turabin thumma qala lahu kun fayakoonu
In the sight of Allâh the example of 'Iesa is like Adam -- that Allâh created him (Adam) from dust and ordered to “Be” and he was.

60.             Alhaqqu min rabbika fala takun mina almumtareena
This is the real truth, which has been revealed from your Râbb, and you should not be among those people who doubt about it.

61.             Faman hajjaka feehi min baAAdi ma jaaka mina alAAilmi faqul taAAalaw nadAAu abnaana waabnaakum wanisaana wanisaakum waanfusana waanfusakum thumma nabtahil fanajAAal laAAnata Allahi AAala alkathibeena
Now whoever disputes with you about these matters, after receiving this knowledge then O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) tell him/her: "Well! We and you gather together and as well as bring our families and pray to Allâh that the Curse of Allâh be upon the one whoever is liar."

62.             Inna hatha lahuwa alqasasu alhaqqu wama min ilahin illa Allahu wainna Allaha lahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu
These are the true facts, and the reality is that there is no deity except Allâh, and HE is the Allâh WHOSE Power is above all and WHOSE wisdom is prevailing all over the Universe.

63.             Fain tawallaw fainna Allaha AAaleemun bialmufsideena
Therefore if these people turn away (to accept challenge on this condition) then (it will be manifested that they are mischief-makers) and Allâh is Well Aware of the behavior of the mischief-makers. (R) 14

64.             Qul ya ahla alkitabi taAAalaw ila kalimatin sawain baynana wabaynakum alla naAAbuda illa Allaha wala nushrika bihi shayan wala yattakhitha baAAduna baAAdan arbaban min dooni Allahi fain tawallaw faqooloo ishhadoo bianna muslimoona
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) say: "O people of the Scripture, come towards such thing that is common between us and you. That we should not worship anyone except Allâh, do not associate anyone with HIM, and no one among us take others as our Râbb except Allâh."
If they refuse to accept this invitation then say clearly that be witness, we are Muslims (who serve and submit to Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala, alone)."

65.             Ya ahla alkitabi lima tuhajjoona fee ibraheema wama onzilati alttawratu waalinjeelu illa min baAAdihi afala taAAqiloona
O people of the Scripture, why do you dispute about (Deen of) Ibrâhim? The Taurât and the Injeel are revealed after Ibrâhim. Then do you not understand this much?

66.             Ha antum haolai hajajtum feema lakum bihi AAilmun falima tuhajjoona feema laysa lakum bihi AAilmun waAllahu yaAAlamu waantum la taAAlamoona
You people have done enough arguments about which you have knowledge, now why are you disputing about those matters for which you do not have any knowledge. Allâh knows, you do not know.

67.             Ma kana ibraheemu yahoodiyyan wala nasraniyyan walakin kana haneefan musliman wama kana mina almushrikeena
Ibrâhim was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a true Muslim (Hanifa) and he was not from among the idolaters (Al-Mushrikûn).

68.             Inna awla alnnasi biibraheema lallatheena ittabaAAoohu wahatha alnnabiyyu waallatheena amanoo waAllahu waliyyu almumineena
If anyone has the right to claim relationship (association) with Ibrâhim they are those people who followed him and now this Prophet (Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and his followers have more right to claim this relationship. Allâh is the Helper and Protector (Walî) of those people who have Faith.

69.             Waddat taifatun min ahli alkitabi law yudilloonakum wama yudilloona illa anfusahum wama yashAAuroona
(O who have brought Faith) A group from among the people of the Scripture wishes that in any way they could mislead you, whereas in fact they are not misleading anyone except themselves but they do not understand it.

70.             Ya ahla alkitabi lima takfuroona biayati Allahi waantum tashhadoona
O people of the Scripture, why do you deny the revelation (Ayât) of Allâh whereas you yourself are witnessing it?

71.             Ya ahla alkitabi lima talbisoona alhaqqa bialbatili wataktumoona alhaqqa waantum taAAlamoona
O people of the Scripture, why do you make truth doubtful by coloring it with falsehood? Why do you conceal the truth knowingly?
(R) 15

72.             Waqalat taifatun min ahli alkitabi aminoo biallathee onzila AAala allatheena amanoo wajha alnnahari waokfuroo akhirahu laAAallahum yarjiAAoona
One group from among the people of the Scripture says; in the morning believe in that which has been revealed to the followers of this Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and deny it at the evening, perhaps by this trick these people may turn back from their Faith.

73.             Wala tuminoo illa liman tabiAAa deenakum qul inna alhuda huda Allahi an yuta ahadun mithla ma ooteetum aw yuhajjookum AAinda rabbikum qul inna alfadla biyadi Allahi yuteehi man yashao waAllahu wasiAAun AAaleemun
In addition; these people say to each other that do not accept any one’s word except the people of your own religion. O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) tell them: "In fact the guidance is the Guidance of Allâh and this is HIS blessing that HE gives someone the same thing which HE had given you once. Or others may get some strong argument against you to present before your Râbb." O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) tell them: "Blessing and Grace is with Allâh, (HE) grants to whom HE wants. Allâh is All-Sufficient and Knows everything,

74.             Yakhtassu birahmatihi man yashao waAllahu thoo alfadli alAAatheemi
HE Chooses for HIS Blessing whom HE wants and HIS Bounty is Infinite."

75.             Wamin ahli alkitabi man in tamanhu biqintarin yuaddihi ilayka waminhum man in tamanhu bideenarin la yuaddihi ilayka illa ma dumta AAalayhi qaiman thalika biannahum qaloo laysa AAalayna fee alommiyyeena sabeelun wayaqooloona AAala Allahi alkathiba wahum yaAAlamoona
Among the people of the Scripture a few is such that if you give a heap of gold on his/her trust he/she will pay you back all your wealth, and some is like that if you trust him/her with a single silver coin he/she will never pay you back unless you constantly keep on demanding. The reason for their moral condition is because they say: " In the matters of unlettered (gentiles, Arabs) there is no accountability on us." And they just fabricate lie and relate these things towards Allâh whereas they know it (that Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala, has not said any such thing).

76.             Bala man awfa biAAahdihi waittaqa fainna Allaha yuhibbu almuttaqeena
After all why they should not be called to account? Whoever will fulfill his/her promise and will guard against the evil he/she will be loved by Allâh, because Allâh likes the pious people (Al-Muttaqûn).

77.             Inna allatheena yashtaroona biAAahdi Allahi waaymanihim thamanan qaleelan olaika la khalaqa lahum fee alakhirati wala yukallimuhumu Allahu wala yanthuru ilayhim yawma alqiyamati wala yuzakkeehim walahum AAathabun aleemun
As for those who sell the covenant of Allâh and their own oaths for a small price, then there is no share in the Hereafter for them, at the day of judgment Allâh will neither speak to them nor look at them and nor will purify them, but there is a painful punishment for them.

78.             Wainna minhum lafareeqan yalwoona alsinatahum bialkitabi litahsaboohu mina alkitabi wama huwa mina alkitabi wayaqooloona huwa min AAindi Allahi wama huwa min AAindi Allahi wayaqooloona AAala Allahi alkathiba wahum yaAAlamoona
There are some people among them who twist their tongues in such a way while reciting the Book so that you may think what they are reciting -- is a part of the Book, whereas it is not the text of the Book. They say: "Whatever we are reciting is from Allâh -- whereas it is not from Allâh they knowingly ascribe lie to Allâh.

It is not for any human that Allâh Blesses him with the Book and Wisdom (Al-Hukma) and Prophethood and he says to the people that instead of Allâh you become my servants. He will only say that become true believers of Râbb (Rabbaniyun), as it is the demand of the teaching of that Book which you read and teach.

80.             Wala yamurakum an tattakhithoo almalaikata waalnnabiyyeena arbaban ayamurukum bialkufri baAAda ith antum muslimoona
He will never say to you that take Angels or Prophets as your Râbb. Is it possible that a Prophet commands you for infidelity (Kufr) when you are Muslims? (R) 16

Remember, Allâh had taken an oath from Prophets: "Today I have blessed you with the Book and Wisdom and Understanding, tomorrow if any other Rasool comes to you confirming the same teachings which you already possess, then you will have to bring Faith in him and will have to help him."After saying this Allâh asked: "Do you acknowledge it and take the important responsibility of this covenant from ME?" They responded: "Yes we acknowledge." Allâh said: "Well then bear witness and I AM also witness with you,

82.             Faman tawalla baAAda thalika faolaika humu alfasiqoona
After this whoever turns away from one’s covenant is the wrong doer (Fâsiqûn)."

83.             Afaghayra deeni Allahi yabghoona walahu aslama man fee alssamawati waalardi tawAAan wakarhan wailayhi yurjaAAoona
Now do these people want another way -- leaving the Way of Submission to Allâh (Deen of Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala)? Whereas everything in the skies and in the earth willingly or unwillingly has submitted to Allâh (Became Muslims) and everyone has to return to HIM?

O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) say: "We believe in Allâh, (we) believe in those teachings which have been sent down to us, also (we) believe in that which had been sent down to Ibrâhim, Ismâ'il, Ishâque, Ya'qûb, and the children of Ya'qûb (Al-Asbât), and also believe in the guidance which has been given to Mûsa, 'Iesa and other Prophets from their Râbb. We do not discriminate among them and we have submitted to Allâh (Muslims)."

85.             Waman yabtaghi ghayra alislami deenan falan yuqbala minhu wahuwa fee alakhirati mina alkhasireena
Whoever wants to adopt another way except this way of submission (Islam) then his/her that way will never be accepted and on the Day of Judgment he/she will be total failure and unfortunate.

86.             Kayfa yahdee Allahu qawman kafaroo baAAda eemanihim washahidoo anna alrrasoola haqqun wajaahumu albayyinatu waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena
How could it be that Allâh Guides those people who have adopted the way of infidelity (Kufr) after receiving the blessing of Faith whereas they themselves have testified it that this Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) is on truth and the clear proofs have also come to them? Allâh does not guide the cruel (Zâlimûn).

87.             Olaika jazaohum anna AAalayhim laAAnata Allahi waalmalaikati waalnnasi ajmaAAeena
The right reward of their wrongdoing is that on them is the Curse of Allâh and the Angels and the entire mankind.

88.             Khalideena feeha la yukhaffafu AAanhumu alAAathabu wala hum yuntharoona
They will remain in that state forever, neither their punishment will be lightened nor any break will be given to them.

89.             Illa allatheena taboo min baAAdi thalika waaslahoo fainna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun
Although those people will be saved who repented and corrected their deeds, Allâh is Oft Forgiving and Most Merciful.

90.             Inna allatheena kafaroo baAAda eemanihim thumma izdadoo kufran lan tuqbala tawbatuhum waolaika humu alddalloona
But those people, who adopted the way of infidelity (Kufr) after bringing Faith, then keep advancing in their infidelity (Kufr) their repentance will never be accepted such people have surely gone astray.

91.             Inna allatheena kafaroo wamatoo wahum kuffarun falan yuqbala min ahadihim milo alardi thahaban walawi iftada bihi olaika lahum AAathabun aleemun wama lahum min nasireena
Be sure, the people who adopted infidelity (Kufr) and die in the state of infidelity (Kufr) from among them if anyone gives the whole earth full of gold as ransom to save oneself from the punishment -- it will not be accepted. For such people severe punishment is ready and they will not find any of their helpers. (R) 17
