Chapter 21

Total Verses: 69

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

اتْلُ مَا أُوحِيَ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ تَنْهَى عَنِ الْفَحْشَاء وَالْمُنكَرِ وَلَذِكْرُ اللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ

45.             Otlu ma oohiya ilayka mina alkitabi waaqimi alssalata inna alssalata tanha AAani alfahshai waalmunkari walathikru Allahi akbaru waAllahu yaAAlamu ma tasnaAAoona
(O Prophet, Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) Recite from this Book (Al-Qur'ân) which has been sent to you through Revelation and establish prayer (As-Salât), surely prayer stops from the indecent and evil deeds (Al-Fahshâ' and Al-Munkar) and the remembrance of Allâh is the thing (which is) even far greater than it, Allâh knows whatever you do.

وَلَا تُجَادِلُوا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ إِلَّا بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْهُمْ وَقُولُوا آمَنَّا بِالَّذِي أُنزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَأُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَإِلَهُنَا وَإِلَهُكُمْ وَاحِدٌ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ

46.             Wala tujadiloo ahla alkitabi illa biallatee hiya ahsanu illa allatheena thalamoo minhum waqooloo amanna biallathee onzila ilayna waonzila ilaykum wailahuna wailahukum wahidun wanahnu lahu muslimoona
And do not argue with the people of the Book but in a best way--except those people who are cruel among them--and tell them: "We have brought Faith in that thing which has been sent to us as well as on that thing which had been sent toward you, our Allâh (Ilâh) and your Allâh (Ilâh) is the same (Allâh, subhaana wa ta'aala) and we are HIS Muslims (obedient)”.

وَكَذَلِكَ أَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ فَالَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ وَمِنْ هَؤُلَاء مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِهِ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَّا الْكَافِرُونَ

47.             Wakathalika anzalna ilayka alkitaba faallatheena ataynahumu alkitaba yuminoona bihi wamin haolai man yuminu bihi wama yajhadu biayatina illa alkafiroona
(O Prophet, Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) In the same way, WE have revealed the Book (Al-Qur'ân) to you for this very reason, those people whom WE had given the Book before they bring Faith in it, and among these people, many of them are bringing Faith in it, and only infidels (Kafir) reject OUR Revelation (Ayât).

وَمَا كُنتَ تَتْلُو مِن قَبْلِهِ مِن كِتَابٍ وَلَا تَخُطُّهُ بِيَمِينِكَ إِذًا لَّارْتَابَ الْمُبْطِلُونَ

48.             Wama kunta tatloo min qablihi min kitabin wala takhuttuhu biyameenika ithan lairtaba almubtiloona
(O Prophet, Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) You did not use to read any book before it and nor did you use to write with your hand, if it would be so then the worshipper of falsehood could had doubted.

بَلْ هُوَ آيَاتٌ بَيِّنَاتٌ فِي صُدُورِ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَّا الظَّالِمُونَ

49.             Bal huwa ayatun bayyinatun fee sudoori allatheena ootoo alAAilma wama yajhadu biayatina illa alththalimoona
In fact, these are clear signs in the hearts of those people who have been given knowledge, and no one rejects OUR Revelation (Ayât) except those who are cruel (Zâlimûn).

وَقَالُوا لَوْلَا أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَاتٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِ قُلْ إِنَّمَا الْآيَاتُ عِندَ اللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ

50.             Waqaloo lawla onzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi qul innama alayatu AAinda Allahi wainnama ana natheerun mubeenun
These people ask, "Why have the signs not been sent down on this person from his Râbb”.  Tell (them): "The signs are with Allâh and I am only a plain warner”.

أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِهِمْ أَنَّا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ يُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَرَحْمَةً وَذِكْرَى لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ

51.             Awa lam yakfihim anna anzalna AAalayka alkitaba yutla AAalayhim inna fee thalika larahmatan wathikra liqawmin yuminoona
And is it (sign) not enough for the people that WE have sent down to you the Book (Al-Qur'ân) that is recited to them?  In fact, there is blessing and advice in it for those people who bring Faith.  (R) 1

قُلْ كَفَى بِاللَّهِ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ شَهِيدًا يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْبَاطِلِ وَكَفَرُوا بِاللَّهِ أُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ

52.            Qul kafa biAllahi baynee wabaynakum shaheedan yaAAlamu ma fee alssamawati waalardi waallatheena amanoo bialbatili wakafaroo biAllahi olaika humu alkhasiroona
(O Prophet, Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) Say: "Allâh is sufficient as a witness between you and I.  HE knows everything in the heavens and on the earth.  Those people who believe in falsehood (Bâtil) and commit infidelity with Allâh they are the ones who are going to be in loss”.

وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِالْعَذَابِ وَلَوْلَا أَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى لَجَاءهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَلَيَأْتِيَنَّهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

53.            WayastaAAjiloonaka bialAAathabi walawla ajalun musamman lajaahumu alAAathabu walayatiyannahum baghtatan wahum la yashAAuroona
These people demand from you to hasten the torment.  If a term had not been fixed then the torment would have come on them.  And surely, (on its time) it will come suddenly, while they will not notice.

يَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِالْعَذَابِ وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمُحِيطَةٌ بِالْكَافِرِينَ

54.            YastaAAjiloonaka bialAAathabi wainna jahannama lamuheetatun bialkafireena
They demand you to hasten the torment whereas the Hell has encircled these infidels (Kafir)

يَوْمَ يَغْشَاهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَمِن تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِهِمْ وَيَقُولُ ذُوقُوا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

55.            Yawma yaghshahumu alAAathabu min fawqihim wamin tahti arjulihim wayaqoolu thooqoo ma kuntum taAAmaloona
(And they will come to know) On that Day when the torment will cover them from above them and from under their feet and will say: "Now taste (the reward) of your deeds that you used to do.

يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ أَرْضِي وَاسِعَةٌ فَإِيَّايَ فَاعْبُدُونِ

56.            Ya AAibadiya allatheena amanoo inna ardee wasiAAatun faiyyaya faoAAbudooni
O MY servants who have brought Faith, MY earth is spacious, so you only Serve ME Alone."

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ

57.             Kullu nafsin thaiqatu almawti thumma ilayna turjaAAoona
Every soul has to taste death, and then you all will be brought back to US.

وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُم مِّنَ الْجَنَّةِ غُرَفًا تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا نِعْمَ أَجْرُ الْعَامِلِينَ

58.             Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lanubawwiannahum mina aljannati ghurafan tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha niAAma ajru alAAamileena
Those people who have brought Faith and who have done righteous deeds, WE shall keep them in the lofty buildings of Paradise underneath which the canals will be flowing, there they will live forever, what an excellent reward is for those who did good deeds --

الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ

59.             Allatheena sabaroo waAAala rabbihim yatawakkaloona
For those people who have showed patience and those who trust in their Râbb.

وَكَأَيِّن مِن دَابَّةٍ لَا تَحْمِلُ رِزْقَهَا اللَّهُ يَرْزُقُهَا وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

60.             Wakaayyin min dabbatin la tahmilu rizqaha Allahu yarzuquha waiyyakum wahuwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu
How many creatures are there who do not carry their provisions with them, Allâh gives them the provisions and HE is your provider as well.  HE Hears and Knows everything.

وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُ فَأَنَّى يُؤْفَكُونَ

61.             Walain saaltahum man khalaqa alssamawati waalarda wasakhkhara alshshamsa waalqamara layaqoolunna Allahu faanna yufakoona
If you ask from these people that who has created the skies and the earth and who has subdued the moon and the sun -- then they will surely say “Allâh”, then how they are being deceived (erring).

اللَّهُ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَاء مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَقْدِرُ لَهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ

62.             Allahu yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao min AAibadihi wayaqdiru lahu inna Allaha bikulli shayin AAaleemun
Allâh is the One WHO increases the provisions for whom HE pleases from among HIS servants, and restricts it for whom HE wills, surely Allâh Knows everything.

وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّن نَّزَّلَ مِنَ السَّمَاء مَاء فَأَحْيَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ مِن بَعْدِ مَوْتِهَا لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُ قُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ

63.             Walain saaltahum man nazzala mina alssamai maan faahya bihi alarda min baAAdi mawtiha layaqoolunna Allahu quli alhamdu lillahi bal aktharuhum la yaAAqiloona
And if you ask them that who has sent down water (rain) from the sky and with it gave life to the dead earth then they will surely say "Allâh."  Say, "All thanks to Allâh (Al-Hamdulillâh)”, but most of them do not understand.  (R) 2

وَمَا هَذِهِ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا لَهْوٌ وَلَعِبٌ وَإِنَّ الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ لَهِيَ الْحَيَوَانُ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ

64.             Wama hathihi alhayatu alddunya illa lahwun walaAAibun wainna alddara alakhirata lahiya alhayawanu law kanoo yaAAlamoona
And the life of this world is nothing but a play and an amusement.  The Hereafter is a home of the real life -- would that!  These people knew.

فَإِذَا رَكِبُوا فِي الْفُلْكِ دَعَوُا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ فَلَمَّا نَجَّاهُمْ إِلَى الْبَرِّ إِذَا هُمْ يُشْرِكُونَ

65.             Faitha rakiboo fee alfulki daAAawoo Allaha mukhliseena lahu alddeena falamma najjahum ila albarri itha hum yushrikoona
When these people embark the boat then they pray to HIM by purifying their Faith for Allâh then when HE brings them safely to land then suddenly they start associating partners with Allâh

لِيَكْفُرُوا بِمَا آتَيْنَاهُمْ وَلِيَتَمَتَّعُوا فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ

66.             Liyakfuroo bima ataynahum waliyatamattaAAoo fasawfa yaAAlamoona
So that to show ungratefulness to HIM for HIS safe rescue, and enjoy (the worldly life).  Well, soon they will come to know.

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا جَعَلْنَا حَرَمًا آمِنًا وَيُتَخَطَّفُ النَّاسُ مِنْ حَوْلِهِمْ أَفَبِالْبَاطِلِ يُؤْمِنُونَ وَبِنِعْمَةِ اللَّهِ يَكْفُرُونَ

67.             Awa lam yaraw anna jaAAalna haraman aminan wayutakhattafu alnnasu min hawlihim afabialbatili yuminoona wabiniAAmati Allahi yakfuroona
Don’t they see that WE have made a safe sanctuary (Makkah) whereas the people are being grabbed away from their surroundings?  What, even then they believe in falsehood (Bâtil) and deny the Mercy of Allâh?

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَى عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءهُ أَلَيْسَ فِي جَهَنَّمَ مَثْوًى لِّلْكَافِرِينَ

68.             Waman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban aw kaththaba bialhaqqi lamma jaahu alaysa fee jahannama mathwan lilkafireena
Who else will be crueler than the one -- who invents lie against Allâh or rejects the truth when it has come to him?  Is not the Hell destination for such infidel (Kafir)?

وَالَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمَعَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ

69.             Waallatheena jahadoo feena lanahdiyannahum subulana wainna Allaha lamaAAa almuhsineena
Those people who strive hard for US (in OUR Cause) WE will guide them to OUR Path, and certainly Allâh is with the pious people (Muhsinûn).”  (R) 3

“Ar­Rûm/Al-Room - The Romans -” – (Makki - 30^th Surah)

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

الم

1.                 Alif­Lâm­Mîm
(Aliflammeem -- these are prefixes, muqatta’at, only Allâh, subhaana wa ta'aala, knows the meanings).

غُلِبَتِ الرُّومُ

2.                Ghulibati alrroomu
The Romans have been defeated

فِي أَدْنَى الْأَرْضِ وَهُم مِّن بَعْدِ غَلَبِهِمْ سَيَغْلِبُونَ

3.                Fee adna alardi wahum min baAAdi ghalabihim sayaghliboona
In the neighboring land (in Syria, Persian defeated Romans), and after their defeat they will become victorious within a few years.

فِي بِضْعِ سِنِينَ لِلَّهِ الْأَمْرُ مِن قَبْلُ وَمِن بَعْدُ وَيَوْمَئِذٍ يَفْرَحُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ

4.                Fee bidAAi sineena lillahi alamru min qablu wamin baAAdu wayawmaithin yafrahu almuminoona
It is a command of Allâh prior as well as afterwards.  And that will be the Day when the Muslims will rejoice at the victory given by Allâh (to the Romans against the Persians).

بِنَصْرِ اللَّهِ يَنصُرُ مَن يَشَاء وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ

5.                Binasri Allahi yansuru man yashao wahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
Allâh gives victory to whom HE wills, and HE is All Powerful and Most Merciful.

وَعْدَ اللَّهِ لَا يُخْلِفُ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

6.                WaAAda Allahi la yukhlifu Allahu waAAdahu walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona
Allâh has made this Promise, Allâh never goes against HIS Promise, but most of the people do not know.

يَعْلَمُونَ ظَاهِرًا مِّنَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ عَنِ الْآخِرَةِ هُمْ غَافِلُونَ

7.                YaAAlamoona thahiran mina alhayati alddunya wahum AAani alakhirati hum ghafiloona
The people only know the visible part of the worldly life and they themselves are ignorant of the Hereafter.

أَوَلَمْ يَتَفَكَّرُوا فِي أَنفُسِهِمْ مَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ النَّاسِ بِلِقَاء رَبِّهِمْ لَكَافِرُونَ

8.                Awa lam yatafakkaroo fee anfusihim ma khalaqa Allahu alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma illa bialhaqqi waajalin musamman wainna katheeran mina alnnasi biliqai rabbihim lakafiroona
Have they never pondered in their own-selves?  Allâh has created the earth and the skies and all that is between them with truth and for an appointed term.  But many people deny the meeting with their Râbb.

أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَانُوا أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَأَثَارُوا الْأَرْضَ وَعَمَرُوهَا أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا عَمَرُوهَا وَجَاءتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَكِن كَانُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ

9.                Awa lam yaseeroo fee alardi fayanthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablihim kanoo ashadda minhum quwwatan waatharoo alarda waAAamarooha akthara mimma AAamarooha wajaathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati fama kana Allahu liyathlimahum walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona
And have these people never traveled through the land that they could see the end of those people who have passed away before them?  They had more power than these people did -- they had tilled the land at their utmost and had cultivated it that much which they have not done.  Their Rasools came to them with clear signs.  Then Allâh was not going to do unjust to these people but they themselves were doing unjust to them.

ثُمَّ كَانَ عَاقِبَةَ الَّذِينَ أَسَاؤُوا السُّوأَى أَن كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَكَانُوا بِهَا يَسْتَهْزِؤُون

10.            Thumma kana AAaqibata allatheena asaoo alssooa an kaththaboo biayati Allahi wakanoo biha yastahzioona
Finally, those people who had committed sins their end-result was very bad, because they denied the Revelation (Ayât) of Allâh and they used to ridicule them.  (R) 4

اللَّهُ يَبْدَأُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ

11.            Allahu yabdao alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu thumma ilayhi turjaAAoona
Allâh originates the creation, then HE will repeat it, and then you will be brought back to HIM.

وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ يُبْلِسُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ

12.            Wayawma taqoomu alssaAAatu yublisu almujrimoona
And when the hour will be established on that Day -- the criminals (Mujrimûn) will be confused.

وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُم مِّن شُرَكَائِهِمْ شُفَعَاء وَكَانُوا بِشُرَكَائِهِمْ كَافِرِينَ

13.            Walam yakun lahum min shurakaihim shufaAAao wakanoo bishurakaihim kafireena
None will be their intercessor from among their taken deities and they will deny their deities. 

وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَفَرَّقُونَ

14.             Wayawma taqoomu alssaAAatu yawmaithin yatafarraqoona
The Day that hour will be established; that Day (entire mankind) shall be divided into separate groups.

فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فَهُمْ فِي رَوْضَةٍ يُحْبَرُونَ

15.             Faamma allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati fahum fee rawdatin yuhbaroona
Those people who have brought Faith and (those) who have done righteous deeds they will be kept in gardens -- happy and rejoicing.

وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَلِقَاء الْآخِرَةِ فَأُوْلَئِكَ فِي الْعَذَابِ مُحْضَرُونَ

16.             Waamma allatheena kafaroo wakaththaboo biayatina waliqai alakhirati faolaika fee alAAathabi muhdaroona
And as for those who have committed infidelity (Kufr) and denied OUR Revelation (Ayât) and the meeting of the Hereafter they will be kept present in the torment.

فَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ حِينَ تُمْسُونَ وَحِينَ تُصْبِحُونَ

17.             Fasubhana Allahi heena tumsoona waheena tusbihoona
Therefore, glorify Allâh when you come up to the evening (Maghrib and Ishâ prayer) and when you enter the morning (Fajr prayer).

وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَعَشِيًّا وَحِينَ تُظْهِرُونَ

18.             Walahu alhamdu fee alssamawati waalardi waAAashiyyan waheena tuthhiroona
In the heavens and in the earth praise is only for HIM.  And (glorify HIM) in the late afternoon ('Asr prayer) and when the day begins to decline at you (Zuhr prayer)."

يُخْرِجُ الْحَيَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَيُخْرِجُ الْمَيِّتَ مِنَ الْحَيِّ وَيُحْيِي الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَكَذَلِكَ تُخْرَجُونَ

19.             Yukhriju alhayya mina almayyiti wayukhriju almayyita mina alhayyi wayuhyee alarda baAAda mawtiha wakathalika tukhrajoona
HE brings out the living from the dead and the dead from the living and (HE) revives the earth after its death.  The same way you people will be brought out (from the state of death).  (R) 5

وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَنْ خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ إِذَا أَنتُم بَشَرٌ تَنتَشِرُونَ

20.             Wamin ayatihi an khalaqakum min turabin thumma itha antum basharun tantashiroona
Among HIS Signs is -- that HE has created you from dust.  Then all of sudden you human are keep spreading (on the earth).

وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا لِّتَسْكُنُوا إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُم مَّوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

21.             Wamin ayatihi an khalaqa lakum min anfusikum azwajan litaskunoo ilayha wajaAAala baynakum mawaddatan warahmatan inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yatafakkaroona
And among HIS Signs is this -- that HE has created wives from your own class so that you may attain harmony with them and (HE) created love and kindness between you.  Surely there are many Signs in it for those people who ponder upon.

وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ خَلْقُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلَافُ أَلْسِنَتِكُمْ وَأَلْوَانِكُمْ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّلْعَالِمِينَ

22.             Wamin ayatihi khalqu alssamawati waalardi waikhtilafu alsinatikum waalwanikum inna fee thalika laayatin lilAAalimeena
And the creation of the skies and the earth is among HIS Signs, and the difference of your languages and colors.  Surely there are many signs in it for the people with commonsense.

وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ مَنَامُكُم بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَابْتِغَاؤُكُم مِّن فَضْلِهِ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَسْمَعُونَ

23.             Wamin ayatihi manamukum biallayli waalnnahari waibtighaokum min fadlihi inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yasmaAAoona
And from among HIS Signs -- your sleeping at night and (in the) day your seeking of HIS Bounty.  Surely there are many signs in it for those people who listen (attentively).

وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ يُرِيكُمُ الْبَرْقَ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ السَّمَاء مَاء فَيُحْيِي بِهِ الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ

24.             Wamin ayatihi yureekumu albarqa khawfan watamaAAan wayunazzilu mina alssamai maan fayuhyee bihi alarda baAAda mawtiha inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yaAAqiloona
And from among HIS Signs is that HE shows you lightning with fear as well as with hope.  And sends water (rain) from the sky, then with it gives life to the earth after its death.  Surely, there are many signs in it for those people who use commonsense.

وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَن تَقُومَ السَّمَاء وَالْأَرْضُ بِأَمْرِهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ دَعْوَةً مِّنَ الْأَرْضِ إِذَا أَنتُمْ تَخْرُجُونَ

25.             Wamin ayatihi an taqooma alssamao waalardu biamrihi thumma itha daAAakum daAAwatan mina alardi itha antum takhrujoona
And from among HIS Signs is -- that the skies and the earth are standing by HIS Command.  Then as soon as HE calls you from the earth, so just with one call -- all of sudden you will come out from the earth.

وَلَهُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ كُلٌّ لَّهُ قَانِتُونَ

26.             Walahu man fee alssamawati waalardi kullun lahu qanitoona
Whosoever is in the skies and in the earth are HIS servants.  All are obedient to HIM.

وَهُوَ الَّذِي يَبْدَأُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ وَهُوَ أَهْوَنُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَهُ الْمَثَلُ الْأَعْلَى فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ

27.             Wahuwa allathee yabdao alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu wahuwa ahwanu AAalayhi walahu almathalu alaAAla fee alssamawati waalardi wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu
HE is the One -- WHO originates the creation, then HE will repeat it and this is most easy for HIM.  HIS praise is the highest in the skies and in the earth.  And HE is All Powerful and All Wise.  (R) 6

ضَرَبَ لَكُم مَّثَلًا مِنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ هَل لَّكُم مِّن مَّا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُم مِّن شُرَكَاء فِي مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ فَأَنتُمْ فِيهِ سَوَاء تَخَافُونَهُمْ كَخِيفَتِكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ كَذَلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ

28.             Daraba lakum mathalan min anfusikum hal lakum mimma malakat aymanukum min shurakaa fee ma razaqnakum faantum feehi sawaon takhafoonahum kakheefatikum anfusakum kathalika nufassilu alayati liqawmin yaAAqiloona
HE gives you an example from your own lives.  Are there a few such salves from among your those salves who are in your possessions, who are equal partners in the wealth that WE have given you and you fear them as you fear from your own companions?  -- This is how WE explain Revelation (Ayât) clearly for those people who use commonsense.

بَلِ اتَّبَعَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا أَهْوَاءهُم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ فَمَن يَهْدِي مَنْ أَضَلَّ اللَّهُ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّاصِرِينَ

29.             Bali ittabaAAa allatheena thalamoo ahwaahum bighayri AAilmin faman yahdee man adalla Allahu wama lahum min nasireena
But these cruels are following their own imaginations without any understanding.  Now who can show path to that person whom Allâh has sent astray?  No one can be helper for such people.

فَأَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ حَنِيفًا فِطْرَةَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي فَطَرَ النَّاسَ عَلَيْهَا لَا تَبْدِيلَ لِخَلْقِ اللَّهِ ذَلِكَ الدِّينُ الْقَيِّمُ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

30.             Faaqim wajhaka lilddeeni haneefan fitrata Allahi allatee fatara alnnasa AAalayha la tabdeela likhalqi Allahi thalika alddeenu alqayyimu walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona
Therefore (O Prophet, Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, and the followers of the Prophet) firmly incorporated your devotion towards the Deen Hanifa (Upright Islamic way of life).  Firmly establish yourselves on that Nature (Fitrah) on which Allâh has created the mankind, the Laws of Allâh  (Khalq­illâh) cannot be changed, this is the straight and upright Deen (The Islamic way of life), but most of the people do not know.

مُنِيبِينَ إِلَيْهِ وَاتَّقُوهُ وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ

31.             Muneebeena ilayhi waittaqoohu waaqeemoo alssalata wala takoonoo mina almushrikeena
(Stand firm on this thing) Inclining toward Allâh and fear HIM, and establish prayer (As ­Salât) and do not be from among those idolaters (Mushrikûn)

مِنَ الَّذِينَ فَرَّقُوا دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُوا شِيَعًا كُلُّ حِزْبٍ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ

32.             Mina allatheena farraqoo deenahum wakanoo shiyaAAan kullu hizbin bima ladayhim farihoona
And who have made up their own separate Deens (the ways of life) and have divided into groups, whatever each group has -- it is absorbed in it.

وَإِذَا مَسَّ النَّاسَ ضُرٌّ دَعَوْا رَبَّهُم مُّنِيبِينَ إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا أَذَاقَهُم مِّنْهُ رَحْمَةً إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ

33.             Waitha massa alnnasa durrun daAAaw rabbahum muneebeena ilayhi thumma itha athaqahum minhu rahmatan itha fareequn minhum birabbihim yushrikoona
This is the condition of the people that when any harm touches them then they turn towards their Râbb and pray to HIM, then when HE let them to taste some of HIS Blessings then all of sudden some of them start committing shirk (associate partners with Allâh, subhaana wa ta'aala)

لِيَكْفُرُوا بِمَا آتَيْنَاهُمْ فَتَمَتَّعُوا فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ

34.             Liyakfuroo bima ataynahum fatamattaAAoo fasawfa taAAlamoona
So that they should be ungrateful for OUR Favor.  Well, enjoy yourselves; soon you will come to know. 

أَمْ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَانًا فَهُوَ يَتَكَلَّمُ بِمَا كَانُوا بِهِ يُشْرِكُونَ

35.             Am anzalna AAalayhim sultanan fahuwa yatakallamu bima kanoo bihi yushrikoona
Have WE sent to them any authority and reason that gives testimony in favor of that idolatry (shirk) which they are committing?

وَإِذَا أَذَقْنَا النَّاسَ رَحْمَةً فَرِحُوا بِهَا وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ إِذَا هُمْ يَقْنَطُونَ

36.             Waitha athaqna alnnasa rahmatan farihoo biha wain tusibhum sayyiatun bima qaddamat aydeehim itha hum yaqnatoona
When WE let the people to taste OUR Blessings then they glow on it.  And when a misery comes to them because of their own misdeeds all of sudden they start glomming (losing hope).

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَاء وَيَقْدِرُ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ

37.             Awa lam yaraw anna Allaha yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao wayaqdiru inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yuminoona
Don’t these people see that Allâh increases the provisions for whom HE pleases with and restrains (it from whom HE wills)?  Surely there are many signs in it for those people who bring Faith.

فَآتِ ذَا الْقُرْبَى حَقَّهُ وَالْمِسْكِينَ وَابْنَ السَّبِيلِ ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَ اللَّهِ وَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ

38.             Faati tha alqurba haqqahu waalmiskeena waibna alssabeeli thalika khayrun lillatheena yureedoona wajha Allahi waolaika humu almuflihoona
Therefore, (O believer) give the right to the relative and the poor (Al ­Miskîn) and the traveler.  This is the best way for those people who want to seek the pleasure of Allâh and they are the ones who are going to attain success.

وَمَا آتَيْتُم مِّن رِّبًا لِّيَرْبُوَ فِي أَمْوَالِ النَّاسِ فَلَا يَرْبُو عِندَ اللَّهِ وَمَا آتَيْتُم مِّن زَكَاةٍ تُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَ اللَّهِ فَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُضْعِفُونَ

39.             Wama ataytum min riban liyarbuwa fee amwali alnnasi fala yarboo AAinda Allahi wama ataytum min zakatin tureedoona wajha Allahi faolaika humu almudAAifoona
The interest (usury) that you give so that including in the wealth of the people it may increase, it does not increase in the Sight of Allâh and the poor-dues (Zakât) which you give with the intention of seeking the pleasure of Allâh in fact those who pay it (Zakât) increase their wealth.

اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ رَزَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكُمْ هَلْ مِن شُرَكَائِكُم مَّن يَفْعَلُ مِن ذَلِكُم مِّن شَيْءٍ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

40.             Allahu allathee khalaqakum thumma razaqakum thumma yumeetukum thumma yuhyeekum hal min shurakaikum man yafAAalu min thalikum min shayin subhanahu wataAAala AAamma yushrikoona
Allâh is the One WHO created you, then gave you the provisions, then HE gives you death, then HE will resurrect you.  Is there any among your taken deities who does any of these tasks?  Pure is HE and exalted above all that shirk (to associate partners with Allâh, subhaana wa ta'aala) which these people commit.  (R) 7

ظَهَرَ الْفَسَادُ فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِي النَّاسِ لِيُذِيقَهُم بَعْضَ الَّذِي عَمِلُوا لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

41.             Thahara alfasadu fee albarri waalbahri bima kasabat aydee alnnasi liyutheeqahum baAAda allathee AAamiloo laAAallahum yarjiAAoona
The mischief has been introduced in the land and in the sea because of the earning of their hands (misdeeds) so that (HE) makes them to taste for some of their misdeeds, perhaps they may give-up.

قُلْ سِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلُ كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّشْرِكِينَ

42.             Qul seeroo fee alardi faonthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablu kana aktharuhum mushrikeena
(O Prophet; Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) Tell them: "Travel through the land and see what has been the end of those people who have passed away before you, the most of them were idolaters (Mushrikûn)."

فَأَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ الْقَيِّمِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَ يَوْمٌ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَهُ مِنَ اللَّهِ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصَّدَّعُونَ

43.             Faaqim wajhaka lilddeeni alqayyimi min qabli an yatiya yawmun la maradda lahu mina Allahi yawmaithin yassaddaAAoona
So, (O Prophet, Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) stand firmly in the direction of this upright Deen (The Islamic way of life) before it, that Day comes of which there is no chance of being averted by Allâh.  On that Day, the people will be separated from each other by splitting.

مَن كَفَرَ فَعَلَيْهِ كُفْرُهُ وَمَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَلِأَنفُسِهِمْ يَمْهَدُونَ

44.             Man kafara faAAalayhi kufruhu waman AAamila salihan falianfusihim yamhadoona
The one who has committed infidelity (Kufr) the burden of his/her infidelity (Kufr) is upon him/her and those who have done righteous deeds they are clearing-up (the path of success)

لِيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ مِن فَضْلِهِ إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْكَافِرِينَ

45.             Liyajziya allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati min fadlihi innahu la yuhibbu alkafireena
So that, Allâh may reward from HIS Mercy to those who brought Faith and did righteous deeds.  Surely, HE does not like the infidels (Kafir).

وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَن يُرْسِلَ الرِّيَاحَ مُبَشِّرَاتٍ وَلِيُذِيقَكُم مِّن رَّحْمَتِهِ وَلِتَجْرِيَ الْفُلْكُ بِأَمْرِهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا مِن فَضْلِهِ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

46.             Wamin ayatihi an yursila alrriyaha mubashshiratin waliyutheeqakum min rahmatihi walitajriya alfulku biamrihi walitabtaghoo min fadlihi walaAAallakum tashkuroona
From among HIS Signs is this, that HE sends the winds to give glad tidings and to benefit with HIS Mercy and in order to make the boats sail by HIS Command and you seek HIS Bounty and be grateful to HIM.

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ رُسُلًا إِلَى قَوْمِهِمْ فَجَاؤُوهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَانتَقَمْنَا مِنَ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا وَكَانَ حَقًّا عَلَيْنَا نَصْرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

47.             Walaqad arsalna min qablika rusulan ila qawmihim fajaoohum bialbayyinati faintaqamna mina allatheena ajramoo wakana haqqan AAalayna nasru almumineena
And WE send Rasools towards their nations before you and they came to them with clear proofs.  Then those who committed sin WE took revenge from them and it was incumbent on US to help the believers.

اللَّهُ الَّذِي يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ فَتُثِيرُ سَحَابًا فَيَبْسُطُهُ فِي السَّمَاء كَيْفَ يَشَاء وَيَجْعَلُهُ كِسَفًا فَتَرَى الْوَدْقَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ خِلَالِهِ فَإِذَا أَصَابَ بِهِ مَن يَشَاء مِنْ عِبَادِهِ إِذَا هُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ

48.             Allahu allathee yursilu alrriyaha fatutheeru sahaban fayabsutuhu fee alssamai kayfa yashao wayajAAaluhu kisafan fatara alwadqa yakhruju min khilalihi faitha asaba bihi man yashao min AAibadihi itha hum yastabshiroona
Allâh is the One WHO sends the winds and they carry the clouds, then HE spreads these clouds on the sky as HE pleases and divides them into pieces, then you see that the raindrops are dripping from the clouds.  When HE showers this rain from among HIS servants on whom HE Pleases then all of sudden they are filled with joy

وَإِن كَانُوا مِن قَبْلِ أَن يُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْهِم مِّن قَبْلِهِ لَمُبْلِسِينَ

49.             Wain kanoo min qabli an yunazzala AAalayhim min qablihi lamubliseena
Whereas before its coming they were losing their hopes.

فَانظُرْ إِلَى آثَارِ رَحْمَتِ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ يُحْيِي الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لَمُحْيِي الْمَوْتَى وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

50.             Faonthur ila athari rahmati Allahi kayfa yuhyee alarda baAAda mawtiha inna thalika lamuhyee almawta wahuwa AAala kulli shayin qadeerun
Observe the effects (signs) of the Mercy of Allâh that how HE revives the dead earth, surely, HE is the One WHO gives life to the dead and HE is Able to do all things.

وَلَئِنْ أَرْسَلْنَا رِيحًا فَرَأَوْهُ مُصْفَرًّا لَّظَلُّوا مِن بَعْدِهِ يَكْفُرُونَ

51.             Walain arsalna reehan faraawhu musfarran lathalloo min baAAdihi yakfuroona
And if WE send such a wind, which turns their corps yellow, then they keep committing infidelity (Kufr).

فَإِنَّكَ لَا تُسْمِعُ الْمَوْتَى وَلَا تُسْمِعُ الصُّمَّ الدُّعَاء إِذَا وَلَّوْا مُدْبِرِينَ

52.             Fainnaka la tusmiAAu almawta wala tusmiAAu alssumma aldduAAaa itha wallaw mudbireena
(O Prophet, Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) You cannot make the dead to hear, nor can you make the deaf to hear your call who are going away turning their backs,

وَمَا أَنتَ بِهَادِي الْعُمْيِ عَن ضَلَالَتِهِمْ إِن تُسْمِعُ إِلَّا مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِآيَاتِنَا فَهُم مُّسْلِمُونَ

53.             Wama anta bihadi alAAumyi AAan dalalatihim in tusmiAAu illa man yuminu biayatina fahum muslimoona
And nor you can show the right path to the blinds by bringing them out from their straying.  You can only make them to hear who bring Faith in OUR Revelation (Ayât) and bowed down in submission.  (R) 8

اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُم مِّن ضَعْفٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِن بَعْدِ ضَعْفٍ قُوَّةً ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِن بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ ضَعْفًا وَشَيْبَةً يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاء وَهُوَ الْعَلِيمُ الْقَدِيرُ

54.             Allahu allathee khalaqakum min daAAfin thumma jaAAala min baAAdi daAAfin quwwatan thumma jaAAala min baAAdi quwwatin daAAfan washaybatan yakhluqu ma yashao wahuwa alAAaleemu alqadeeru
Allâh is the One WHO originated your creation from the state of weakness, then after this feebleness gave you strength, then after this strength -- made you weak and old.  HE creates whatever HE wants.  And HE knows everything; (HE) has Power over everything.

وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ يُقْسِمُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ مَا لَبِثُوا غَيْرَ سَاعَةٍ كَذَلِكَ كَانُوا يُؤْفَكُونَ

55.             Wayawma taqoomu alssaAAatu yuqsimu almujrimoona ma labithoo ghayra saAAatin kathalika kanoo yufakoona
And when that time will be established -- then the criminals (Mujrimûn) will swear and say that we have not stayed more than a moment, the same way they used to be deceived in the worldly life.

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ وَالْإِيمَانَ لَقَدْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْبَعْثِ فَهَذَا يَوْمُ الْبَعْثِ وَلَكِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

56.             Waqala allatheena ootoo alAAilma waaleemana laqad labithtum fee kitabi Allahi ila yawmi albaAAthi fahatha yawmu albaAAthi walakinnakum kuntum la taAAlamoona
But those who were favored with Knowledge and Faith they will say: "According to the Book of Allâh you have stayed until the Day of Resurrection, so this is the same Day of Resurrection, but you did not know."

فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يَنفَعُ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مَعْذِرَتُهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ

57.             Fayawmaithin la yanfaAAu allatheena thalamoo maAAthiratuhum wala hum yustaAAtaboona
Therefore it will be a Day when the excuse of the criminals will not benefit them at all and nor they will be asked to apologize.

وَلَقَدْ ضَرَبْنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِي هَذَا الْقُرْآنِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٍ وَلَئِن جِئْتَهُم بِآيَةٍ لَيَقُولَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا مُبْطِلُونَ

58.             Walaqad darabna lilnnasi fee hatha alqurani min kulli mathalin walain jitahum biayatin layaqoolanna allatheena kafaroo in antum illa mubtiloona
WE have made people to understand with all kinds of examples in this Al-Qur'ân.  You may bring any sign, those people who have refused to accept they will only say this that you are on falsehood.

كَذَلِكَ يَطْبَعُ اللَّهُ عَلَى قُلُوبِ الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

59.             Kathalika yatbaAAu Allahu AAala quloobi allatheena la yaAAlamoona
In this way, Allâh seals the hearts of those people who do not have knowledge.

فَاصْبِرْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَلَا يَسْتَخِفَّنَّكَ الَّذِينَ لَا يُوقِنُونَ

60.             Faisbir inna waAAda Allahi haqqun wala yastakhiffannaka allatheena la yooqinoona
Therefore (O Prophet, Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) be patient, surely, the Promise of Allâh is true, and those people who do not bring Faith -- should never find you weak.  (R) 9

“Luqmân -- Luqmaan” - (Makki - 31^st Surah)

Total Verses: 34

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

الم

1.               Alif­Lâm­Mîm.
(Aliflammeem -- these are prefixes, muqatta’at, only Allâh, subhaana wa ta'aala, knows the meanings).

تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ الْحَكِيمِ

2.                Tilka ayatu alkitabi alhakeemi
These are the Verses of the Wise Book (Al-Qur'ân),

هُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّلْمُحْسِنِينَ

3.                 Hudan warahmatan lilmuhsineena
Guidance and mercy for the pious people (Muhsinûn),

الَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَهُم بِالْآخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ

4.                 Allatheena yuqeemoona alssalata wayutoona alzzakata wahum bialakhirati hum yooqinoona
Who establish prayer (As­ Salât), pay the poor-dues (Zakât) and believe in the Hereafter.

أُوْلَئِكَ عَلَى هُدًى مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ

5.                 Olaika AAala hudan min rabbihim waolaika humu almuflihoona
These are the people, who are on the upright path from their Râbb and they are going to attain success.

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَشْتَرِي لَهْوَ الْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا أُولَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ

6.                 Wamina alnnasi man yashtaree lahwa alhadeethi liyudilla AAan sabeeli Allahi bighayri AAilmin wayattakhithaha huzuwan olaika lahum AAathabun muheenun
And there is such a person from among the mankind who buys attractive story so that without any knowledge (he/she) could lead the people astray from the Path of Allâh and make mockery of the invitation of this path.  There is a humiliating torment for such people.

وَإِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا وَلَّى مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَأَن لَّمْ يَسْمَعْهَا كَأَنَّ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ وَقْرًا فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ

7.                 Waitha tutla AAalayhi ayatuna walla mustakbiran kaan lam yasmaAAha kaanna fee othunayhi waqran fabashshirhu biAAathabin aleemin
When OUR Revelation (Verses) is recited to him/her then he/she turns his/her face aside with arrogance in such way as if he/she did not hear them, as if his/her ears are deaf.  Well, give him/her news of a severe torment.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتُ النَّعِيمِ

8.                 Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum jannatu alnnaAAeemi
However those people who bring Faith and do righteous deeds, there are gardens of delight for them

خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقًّا وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ

9.                 Khalideena feeha waAAda Allahi haqqan wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu
In which they will live forever.  It is a firm Promise of Allâh and HE is Powerful and Wise.

خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ تَرَوْنَهَا وَأَلْقَى فِي الْأَرْضِ رَوَاسِيَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَبَثَّ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ دَابَّةٍ وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاء مَاء فَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ

10.             Khalaqa alssamawati bighayri AAamadin tarawnaha waalqa fee alardi rawasiya an tameeda bikum wabaththa feeha min kulli dabbatin waanzalna mina alssamai maan faanbatna feeha min kulli zawjin kareemin
HE created skies without pillars, which you can see.  HE placed mountains on the earth so that it should not role away accompanying you.  HE spreaded all types of animals on the earth and sent down water (rain) from the sky and grew different kinds of fine vegetation in the earth.

هَذَا خَلْقُ اللَّهِ فَأَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقَ الَّذِينَ مِن دُونِهِ بَلِ الظَّالِمُونَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ

11.             Hatha khalqu Allahi faaroonee matha khalaqa allatheena min doonihi bali alththalimoona fee dalalin mubeenin
This is the creation of Allâh now just show ME, what other (your deities) have created?  -- The fact is that these cruel people (the Zâlimûn) are in obvious error.  (R) 10

وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا لُقْمَانَ الْحِكْمَةَ أَنِ اشْكُرْ لِلَّهِ وَمَن يَشْكُرْ فَإِنَّمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهِ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ حَمِيدٌ

12.             Walaqad atayna luqmana alhikmata ani oshkur lillahi waman yashkur fainnama yashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fainna Allaha ghaniyyun hameedun
WE had given wisdom (Al ­Hikmah) to Luqmân that (he) be grateful to Allâh.  Whoever pays thanks his thankfulness is beneficial for him/her own-self.  And whoever commits infidelity (Kufr) then in fact, Allâh is beyond all needs and worthy of all praises.

وَإِذْ قَالَ لُقْمَانُ لِابْنِهِ وَهُوَ يَعِظُهُ يَا بُنَيَّ لَا تُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّ الشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌ

13.             Waith qala luqmanu liibnihi wahuwa yaAAithuhu ya bunayya la tushrik biAllahi inna alshshirka lathulmun AAatheemun
Recall when Luqmân was advising to his son and he said: "O my son, never associate anyone with Allâh the truth is that the idolatry (shirk) is a worst cruelty (Zûlm)” ---- 

وَوَصَّيْنَا الْإِنسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُ وَهْنًا عَلَى وَهْنٍ وَفِصَالُهُ فِي عَامَيْنِ أَنِ اشْكُرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيْكَ إِلَيَّ الْمَصِيرُ

14.             Wawassayna alinsana biwalidayhi hamalathu ommuhu wahnan AAala wahnin wafisaluhu fee AAamayni ani oshkur lee waliwalidayka ilayya almaseeru
And it is fact that WE OURSELF have enjoined mankind to recognize the rights of their parents.  His/her mother kept him/her in her womb with discomfort of weakness and hardship and it took two years to remove him/her from nursing.  (This is why WE advised him/her) To be grateful to ME and be thankful to your parents, you have to return to ME. 

وَإِن جَاهَدَاكَ عَلى أَن تُشْرِكَ بِي مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا وَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِي الدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا وَاتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ مَنْ أَنَابَ إِلَيَّ ثُمَّ إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

15.             Wain jahadaka AAala an tushrika bee ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun fala tutiAAhuma wasahibhuma fee alddunya maAAroofan waittabiAA sabeela man anaba ilayya thumma ilayya marjiAAukum faonabbiokum bima kuntum taAAmaloona
But if they force you to associate with ME anyone whom you do not know then do not accept their word at all.  Keep treating them with kindness in this world but follow the footsteps of that person who has turned towards ME.  Then you all have to return to ME, at that time I shall tell you -- what deeds you have been doing.

يَا بُنَيَّ إِنَّهَا إِن تَكُ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ فَتَكُن فِي صَخْرَةٍ أَوْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ أَوْ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَأْتِ بِهَا اللَّهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَطِيفٌ خَبِيرٌ

16.             Ya bunayya innaha in taku mithqala habbatin min khardalin fatakun fee sakhratin aw fee alssamawati aw fee alardi yati biha Allahu inna Allaha lateefun khabeerun
(And Luqmân had said) "My son, Allâh would bring all things out even which are as small as the weight of a grain of mustard seed, or it be in a rock, or in the skies or hidden in the earth.  HE is very skillful and Well Aware.

يَا بُنَيَّ أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ وَأْمُرْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَانْهَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا أَصَابَكَ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ الْأُمُورِ

17.             Ya bunayya aqimi alssalata wamur bialmaAAroofi wainha AAani almunkari waisbir AAala ma asabaka inna thalika min AAazmi alomoori
O son, establish prayer (Salât), enjoin righteousness (Al­-Ma'rûf), forbid evil (Al-­Munkar), and whatever difficulty come to you remain patient.  These are the things, which have been strictly urged.

وَلَا تُصَعِّرْ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَمْشِ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَرَحًا إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخْتَالٍ فَخُورٍ

18.             Wala tusaAAAAir khaddaka lilnnasi wala tamshi fee alardi marahan inna Allaha la yuhibbu kulla mukhtalin fakhoorin
And do not turn away your face from people (with pride) while talking, nor walk arrogantly on the earth; Allâh does not like any self-centered and proud big-talker.

وَاقْصِدْ فِي مَشْيِكَ وَاغْضُضْ مِن صَوْتِكَ إِنَّ أَنكَرَ الْأَصْوَاتِ لَصَوْتُ الْحَمِيرِ

19.             Waiqsid fee mashyika waoghdud min sawtika inna ankara alaswati lasawtu alhameeri
Adopt moderation in your walk (pace), and keep your voice low, the most displeasing of all the voices is the voice (braying) of the donkey (ass)."  (R) 11

أَلَمْ تَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَأَسْبَغَ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعَمَهُ ظَاهِرَةً وَبَاطِنَةً وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يُجَادِلُ فِي اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَلَا هُدًى وَلَا كِتَابٍ مُّنِيرٍ

20.             Alam taraw anna Allaha sakhkhara lakum ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi waasbagha AAalaykum niAAamahu thahiratan wabatinatan wamina alnnasi man yujadilu fee Allahi bighayri AAilmin wala hudan wala kitabin muneerin
Don’t you people see that Allâh has subjected for you all that is in the skies and in the earth and has completed HIS known and unknown blessings on you?  Yet, some people among mankind dispute about Allâh without any knowledge or guidance or an enlightening books!

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّبِعُوا مَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ قَالُوا بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءنَا أَوَلَوْ كَانَ الشَّيْطَانُ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ

21.             Waitha qeela lahumu ittabiAAoo ma anzala Allahu qaloo bal nattabiAAu ma wajadna AAalayhi abaana awa law kana alshshaytanu yadAAoohum ila AAathabi alssaAAeeri
And when it is said to them: "Follow that which Allâh has Revealed", they say: "We shall only follow that on which we have found our forefathers."  Will they only follow them even if Shaitân have been inviting them towards the fiery Fire?

وَمَن يُسْلِمْ وَجْهَهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقَى وَإِلَى اللَّهِ عَاقِبَةُ الْأُمُورِ

22.             Waman yuslim wajhahu ila Allahi wahuwa muhsinun faqadi istamsaka bialAAurwati alwuthqa waila Allahi AAaqibatu alomoori
Whoever submits himself/herself to Allâh and is a noble in his/her deeds (practically pious), in fact he/she has taken the trustworthiest supporter.  And the final decision of all the matters is in the Hands of Allâh.

وَمَن كَفَرَ فَلَا يَحْزُنكَ كُفْرُهُ إِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُهُمْ فَنُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا عَمِلُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ

23.             Waman kafara fala yahzunka kufruhu ilayna marjiAAuhum fanunabbiohum bima AAamiloo inna Allaha AAaleemun bithati alssudoori
Now whoever commits infidelity (Kufr) his/her infidelity (Kufr) should not put you in distress, they have to return to US, then WE shall tell them that what they have done.  Certainly, Allâh knows even the secrets hidden in the hearts.

نُمَتِّعُهُمْ قَلِيلًا ثُمَّ نَضْطَرُّهُمْ إِلَى عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍ

24.             NumattiAAuhum qaleelan thumma nadtarruhum ila AAathabin ghaleethin
WE are giving them respite to enjoy for a little while in the world then by making them helpless WE shall drag them toward a severe torment.

وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُ قُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

25.             Walain saaltahum man khalaqa alssamawati waalarda layaqoolunna Allahu quli alhamdu lillahi bal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoona
If you ask them that who has created the earth and the skies then they will certainly say: "Allâh”.  Say, "All praises are for Allâh (Al-Hamdulillâh)".  But most of them do not know.

 لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْغَنِيُّ الْحَمِيدُ

26.             Lillahi ma fee alssamawati waalardi inna Allaha huwa alghaniyyu alhameedu
Whatever is in the skies and in the earth (all that) belongs to Allâh.  No doubt, Allâh is beyond all needs (Al-­Ghanî) and Worthy of all praises.

وَلَوْ أَنَّمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ مِن شَجَرَةٍ أَقْلَامٌ وَالْبَحْرُ يَمُدُّهُ مِن بَعْدِهِ سَبْعَةُ أَبْحُرٍ مَّا نَفِدَتْ كَلِمَاتُ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ

27.             Walaw annama fee alardi min shajaratin aqlamun waalbahru yamudduhu min baAAdihi sabAAatu abhurin ma nafidat kalimatu Allahi inna Allaha AAazeezun hakeemun
If all the trees on the earth were, to become pens and the ocean (inkpot) which is filled with seven other oceans even then the (writing) Words of Allâh would not finish.  No doubt, Allâh is All Powerful and All Wise.

مَّا خَلْقُكُمْ وَلَا بَعْثُكُمْ إِلَّا كَنَفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ بَصِيرٌ

28.             Ma khalqukum wala baAAthukum illa kanafsin wahidatin inna Allaha sameeAAun baseerun
To create the entire mankind and then to resurrect them all is as simple (for HIM) as to (create and resurrect) one human being.  The fact is that Allâh is All Hearing and All Seeing.

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُولِجُ اللَّيْلَ فِي النَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ يَجْرِي إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ

29.             Alam tara anna Allaha yooliju allayla fee alnnahari wayooliju alnnahara fee allayli wasakhkhara alshshamsa waalqamara kullun yajree ila ajalin musamman waanna Allaha bima taAAmaloona khabeerun
Don’t you see that Allâh brings the night merging into the day and (merges) the day into the night?  HE has subjected the sun and the moon -- all are serving till the appointed term, and (don’t you know) that whatever you do Allâh is Aware of it? 

ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنَّ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ الْبَاطِلُ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْكَبِيرُ

30.             Thalika bianna Allaha huwa alhaqqu waanna ma yadAAoona min doonihi albatilu waanna Allaha huwa alAAaliyyu alkabeeru
This all is because Allâh is the Truth, and all those others things whom they call except HIM are falsehood (Al-­Bâtil), and (this is by reason of that) Allâh is the Most High and Great.  (R) 12

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ الْفُلْكَ تَجْرِي فِي الْبَحْرِ بِنِعْمَتِ اللَّهِ لِيُرِيَكُم مِّنْ آيَاتِهِ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ

31.             Alam tara anna alfulka tajree fee albahri biniAAmati Allahi liyuriyakum min ayatihi inna fee thalika laayatin likulli sabbarin shakoorin
Don’t you see that the boat sails through the ocean by the Grace of Allâh so that HE may show you some of HIS Signs?  In fact, there are many signs in it for each such person who is patient and grateful.

وَإِذَا غَشِيَهُم مَّوْجٌ كَالظُّلَلِ دَعَوُا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ فَلَمَّا نَجَّاهُمْ إِلَى الْبَرِّ فَمِنْهُم مُّقْتَصِدٌ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَّا كُلُّ خَتَّارٍ كَفُورٍ

32.             Waitha ghashiyahum mawjun kaalththulali daAAawoo Allaha mukhliseena lahu alddeena falamma najjahum ila albarri faminhum muqtasidun wama yajhadu biayatina illa kullu khattarin kafoorin
And when a wave (in an ocean) covers them like shades then they call upon Allâh purifying their Faith only for HIM.  But when HE delivers them safely to the land then someone among them struggle awkwardly (between belief and disbelief), and none denies OUR Signs but every such person who is traitor and ungrateful.

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمْ وَاخْشَوْا يَوْمًا لَّا يَجْزِي وَالِدٌ عَن وَلَدِهِ وَلَا مَوْلُودٌ هُوَ جَازٍ عَن وَالِدِهِ شَيْئًا إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا وَلَا يَغُرَّنَّكُم بِاللَّهِ الْغَرُورُ

33.             Ya ayyuha alnnasu ittaqoo rabbakum waikhshaw yawman la yajzee walidun AAan waladihi wala mawloodun huwa jazin AAan walidihi shayan inna waAAda Allahi haqqun fala taghurrannakumu alhayatu alddunya wala yaghurrannakum biAllahi algharooru
O people save yourselves from the wrath of your Râbb and fear the Day when no father will pay the retribution for his son and nor a son will pay any retribution for his father.  In fact, the Promise of Allâh is true.  Therefore, the life of this world should not put you in deception.  And nor deceiver could deceive you about Allâh.

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عِندَهُ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الْأَرْحَامِ وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ مَّاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ بِأَيِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ

34.             Inna Allaha AAindahu AAilmu alssaAAati wayunazzilu alghaytha wayaAAlamu ma fee alarhami wama tadree nafsun matha taksibu ghadan wama tadree nafsun biayyi ardin tamootu inna Allaha AAaleemun khabeerun
The knowledge of that Hour is only with Allâh -- HE sends down the rain, HE knows what is nourishing in the wombs of mothers, no one (soul) knows what he/she is going to earn tomorrow, and nor any person knows that in what land he/she will die, Allâh alone knows all this; and is Aware of everything.  (R) 13

“As-Sajdah – The Prostration” – (Makki - 32^nd Surah)

Total Verses: 30

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

الم

1.                Alif­Lâm­Mîm.
(Aliflammeem -- these are prefixes, muqatta’at, only Allâh, subhaana wa ta'aala, knows the meanings).

تَنزِيلُ الْكِتَابِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ مِن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

2.                Tanzeelu alkitabi la rayba feehi min rabbi alAAalameena
No doubt the revelation of this Book (Al-Qur'ân) is from the Râbb-ul-'Alamîn (nourisher/sustainer of the entire world).

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَاهُ بَلْ هُوَ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّا أَتَاهُم مِّن نَّذِيرٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ

3.                Am yaqooloona iftarahu bal huwa alhaqqu min rabbika litunthira qawman ma atahum min natheerin min qablika laAAallahum yahtadoona
Do these people say that this person (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) has fabricated it himself?  Absolutely not, but it is the truth from your Râbb so that you may warn such nation to whom no warner has come before you -- perhaps they may find guidance.

اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى عَلَى الْعَرْشِ مَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا شَفِيعٍ أَفَلَا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ

4.                Allahu allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma fee sittati ayyamin thumma istawa AAala alAAarshi ma lakum min doonihi min waliyyin wala shafeeAAin afala tatathakkaroona
HE is Allâh -- WHO has created the skies and the earth and all that is between them in six Days and then HE manifested (Istawâ) on the Throne, except HIM you neither have any helper (Walî) nor any intercessor, will you not then come into senses?

يُدَبِّرُ الْأَمْرَ مِنَ السَّمَاء إِلَى الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ يَعْرُجُ إِلَيْهِ فِي يَوْمٍ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّونَ

5.               Yudabbiru alamra mina alssamai ila alardi thumma yaAAruju ilayhi fee yawmin kana miqdaruhu alfa sanatin mimma taAAuddoona
HE plans all the affairs of the world from skies to the earth and the report of this plan ascends towards HIM in such a Day whose duration in your calculation is one thousand years.  

ذَلِكَ عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ

6.                Thalika AAalimu alghaybi waalshshahadati alAAazeezu alrraheemu
HE is the One WHO is Knower of all the hidden and the open, All Powerful and Loving.

الَّذِي أَحْسَنَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ وَبَدَأَ خَلْقَ الْإِنسَانِ مِن طِينٍ

7.                Allathee ahsana kulla shayin khalaqahu wabadaa khalqa alinsani min teenin
Whatever HE created (HE has) created excellent.  HE initiated the creation of human beings from clay,

ثُمَّ جَعَلَ نَسْلَهُ مِن سُلَالَةٍ مِّن مَّاء مَّهِينٍ

8.               Thumma jaAAala naslahu min sulalatin min main maheenin
Then spread his progeny with such a core (gist) which is like worthless water,

ثُمَّ سَوَّاهُ وَنَفَخَ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِهِ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ

9.                Thumma sawwahu wanafakha feehi min roohihi wajaAAala lakumu alssamAAa waalabsara waalafidata qaleelan ma tashkuroona
Then HE finished him/her in due proportion and breathed into him/her HIS Own Spirit, and gave you ears, eyes and heart.  You people seldom pay thanks.

وَقَالُوا أَئِذَا ضَلَلْنَا فِي الْأَرْضِ أَئِنَّا لَفِي خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ بَلْ هُم بِلِقَاء رَبِّهِمْ كَافِرُونَ

10.             Waqaloo aitha dalalna fee alardi ainna lafee khalqin jadeedin bal hum biliqai rabbihim kafiroona
And these people say: "When we will be lost in the earth then shall we be created again from the beginning?"  The matter of fact is that they are the deniers of the meeting with their Râbb.

قُلْ يَتَوَفَّاكُم مَّلَكُ الْمَوْتِ الَّذِي وُكِّلَ بِكُمْ ثُمَّ إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ تُرْجَعُونَ

11.             Qul yatawaffakum malaku almawti allathee wukkila bikum thumma ila rabbikum turjaAAoona
Tell them: "The angel of death who has been appointed on you will take you completely in his custody and then you will be brought back to your Râbb”.  (R) 14

وَلَوْ تَرَى إِذِ الْمُجْرِمُونَ نَاكِسُو رُؤُوسِهِمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ رَبَّنَا أَبْصَرْنَا وَسَمِعْنَا فَارْجِعْنَا نَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا إِنَّا مُوقِنُونَ

12.             Walaw tara ithi almujrimoona nakisoo ruoosihim AAinda rabbihim rabbana absarna wasamiAAna faarjiAAna naAAmal salihan inna mooqinoona
Would that!  You see that time when these criminals (Mujrimûn) will be standing heads down before their Râbb (at that time they will be saying): "O our Râbb, we have seen well and heard, now send us back (to the world) so that we may do righteous deeds, now we are convinced."

وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَآتَيْنَا كُلَّ نَفْسٍ هُدَاهَا وَلَكِنْ حَقَّ الْقَوْلُ مِنِّي لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ

13.             Walaw shina laatayna kulla nafsin hudaha walakin haqqa alqawlu minnee laamlaanna jahannama mina aljinnati waalnnasi ajmaAAeena
(It will be said in reply) “If WE wanted then WE would have given every soul its guidance.  But MY Word has been fulfilled which I had said that I should fill the Hell with jinn and mankind, all together.

فَذُوقُوا بِمَا نَسِيتُمْ لِقَاء يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا إِنَّا نَسِينَاكُمْ وَذُوقُوا عَذَابَ الْخُلْدِ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

14.             Fathooqoo bima naseetum liqaa yawmikum hatha inna naseenakum wathooqoo AAathaba alkhuldi bima kuntum taAAmaloona
Therefore, now taste the reward of your behavior that you forget the meeting of this Day, now WE have also forgotten you.  Taste the endless punishment in recompense of your misdeeds.”

إِنَّمَا يُؤْمِنُ بِآيَاتِنَا الَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِّرُوا بِهَا خَرُّوا سُجَّدًا وَسَبَّحُوا بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ(Al- Sajjdah)        

15.             Innama yuminu biayatina allatheena itha thukkiroo biha kharroo sujjadan wasabbahoo bihamdi rabbihim wahum la yastakbiroona
Only those people bring Faith in OUR Revelation (Ayât) whom when advice is given by reciting these Verses (Ayâts) then they fall down in prostration and Glorify their Râbb with HIS Praises and they are not proud.

تَتَجَافَى جُنُوبُهُمْ عَنِ الْمَضَاجِعِ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ

16.             Tatajafa junoobuhum AAani almadajiAAi yadAAoona rabbahum khawfan watamaAAan wamimma razaqnahum yunfiqoona
Their backs are separated from their beds, (they) call their Râbb in fear and hope, and whatever provisions WE have given them -- they spend from it.

فَلَا تَعْلَمُ نَفْسٌ مَّا أُخْفِيَ لَهُم مِّن قُرَّةِ أَعْيُنٍ جَزَاء بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ

17.             Fala taAAlamu nafsun ma okhfiya lahum min qurrati aAAyunin jazaan bima kanoo yaAAmaloona
No soul knows about it that what provisions have been kept hidden for the comforts of the eyes as the recompense of their deeds.

أَفَمَن كَانَ مُؤْمِنًا كَمَن كَانَ فَاسِقًا لَّا يَسْتَوُونَ

18.             Afaman kana muminan kaman kana fasiqan la yastawoona
Is it possible that the one who is a believer be like the one who is sinner (Fâsiq)?  These both can never be equal.

أَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فَلَهُمْ جَنَّاتُ الْمَأْوَى نُزُلًا بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ

19.             Amma allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati falahum jannatu almawa nuzulan bima kanoo yaAAmaloona
Those people who have brought Faith and (those) who have done righteous deeds, for them are dwelling of Paradise a place of an entertainment as recompense of their deeds.

وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ فَسَقُوا فَمَأْوَاهُمُ النَّارُ كُلَّمَا أَرَادُوا أَن يَخْرُجُوا مِنْهَا أُعِيدُوا فِيهَا وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ ذُوقُوا عَذَابَ النَّارِ الَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ

20.             Waamma allatheena fasaqoo famawahumu alnnaru kullama aradoo an yakhrujoo minha oAAeedoo feeha waqeela lahum thooqoo AAathaba alnnari allathee kuntum bihi tukaththiboona
And those who have adopted evil (Fâsiqûn) their destination is Hell.  Whenever they will try to get out of it (they) will be pushed back into it and it will be said to them: "Now taste the punishments of that fire which you used to deny."

وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُمْ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ الْأَدْنَى دُونَ الْعَذَابِ الْأَكْبَرِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

21.             Walanutheeqannahum mina alAAathabi aladna doona alAAathabi alakbari laAAallahum yarjiAAoona
Before that severe punishment (in the hereafter) WE shall keep them encountering with (one or other) minor torment in this world, perhaps they abstain (from their rebellious behavior).

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن ذُكِّرَ بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِ ثُمَّ أَعْرَضَ عَنْهَا إِنَّا مِنَ الْمُجْرِمِينَ مُنتَقِمُونَ

22.             Waman athlamu mimman thukkira biayati rabbihi thumma aAArada AAanha inna mina almujrimeena muntaqimoona
And who else could be crueler than the one whom advice is given by the Revelation (Ayât) of his/her Râbb and then he/she turns away from it?  WE will certainly take revenge from such cruel (Mujrimûn).  (R) 15

وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ فَلَا تَكُن فِي مِرْيَةٍ مِّن لِّقَائِهِ وَجَعَلْنَاهُ هُدًى لِّبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ

23.             Walaqad atayna moosa alkitaba fala takun fee miryatin min liqaihi wajaAAalnahu hudan libanee israeela
Before this WE have given a Book to Mûsa, therefore you should have no doubt on receiving the same thing.  WE had made that Book Guidance for the Children of Israel,

وَجَعَلْنَا مِنْهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا لَمَّا صَبَرُوا وَكَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يُوقِنُونَ

24.             WajaAAalna minhum aimmatan yahdoona biamrina lamma sabaroo wakanoo biayatina yooqinoona
And when they practiced patience and kept bringing Faith on OUR Revelation (Ayâts) then WE created such leaders from among them who used to guide with OUR Command.

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ

25.             Inna rabbaka huwa yafsilu baynahum yawma alqiyamati feema kanoo feehi yakhtalifoona
Certainly, on the Day of Judgment your Râbb alone will decide about those things in which they (children of Israel) have been disputing among themselves.

أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لَهُمْ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّنَ الْقُرُونِ يَمْشُونَ فِي مَسَاكِنِهِمْ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ أَفَلَا يَسْمَعُونَ

26.             Awa lam yahdi lahum kam ahlakna min qablihim mina alqurooni yamshoona fee masakinihim inna fee thalika laayatin afala yasmaAAoona
And have these people gotten no guidance (from these historical events) that how many nations WE have destroyed before them in whose living place now they walk around?  There are many (great) signs in it -- don’t they listen?

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا نَسُوقُ الْمَاء إِلَى الْأَرْضِ الْجُرُزِ فَنُخْرِجُ بِهِ زَرْعًا تَأْكُلُ مِنْهُ أَنْعَامُهُمْ وَأَنفُسُهُمْ أَفَلَا يُبْصِرُونَ

27.             Awa lam yaraw anna nasooqu almaa ila alardi aljuruzi fanukhriju bihi zarAAan takulu minhu anAAamuhum waanfusuhum afala yubsiroona
And have these people never watched the scene that WE drive the water towards the barren land and then from the same land (WE) grow the crops from which their animals get food and also they eat from it?  Then do they not realize anything?

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَى هَذَا الْفَتْحُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

28.             Wayaqooloona mata hatha alfathu in kuntum sadiqeena
These people ask: "When will this decision (Al­-Fath) take place if you are truthful?"

قُلْ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ لَا يَنفَعُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِيمَانُهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ

29.             Qul yawma alfathi la yanfaAAu allatheena kafaroo eemanuhum wala hum yuntharoona
Tell them: "To bring Faith on the Day of decision (Al­Fath) will not benefit those people at all who have committed infidelity (Kufr) and then no respite will be given to them."

فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ وَانتَظِرْ إِنَّهُم مُّنتَظِرُونَ

30.             FaaAArid AAanhum waintathir innahum muntathiroona
Well, leave them alone and wait, they are waiting?  (R) 16

“Al­Ahzâb - The Parties/ The Coalition” –  (Madanni - 33^rd Surah)

Total Verses: 73

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ اتَّقِ اللَّهَ وَلَا تُطِعِ الْكَافِرِينَ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا

1.                Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu ittaqi Allaha wala tutiAAi alkafireena waalmunafiqeena inna Allaha kana AAaleeman hakeeman
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) fear Allâh and do not obey the infidels (Kafir) and the hypocrites, in fact Allâh is All Knowing and All Wise.       

وَاتَّبِعْ مَا يُوحَى إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا

2.                WaittabiAA ma yooha ilayka min rabbika inna Allaha kana bima taAAmaloona khabeeran
Follow that which has been pointed out to you by your Râbb.  Allâh is aware of all that which you people do.

وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَكَفَى بِاللَّهِ وَكِيلًا

3.                Watawakkal AAala Allahi wakafa biAllahi wakeelan
Trust in Allâh, Allâh Alone is Sufficient to be the advisor (Wakîl).

مَّا جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لِرَجُلٍ مِّن قَلْبَيْنِ فِي جَوْفِهِ وَمَا جَعَلَ أَزْوَاجَكُمُ اللَّائِي تُظَاهِرُونَ مِنْهُنَّ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ وَمَا جَعَلَ أَدْعِيَاءكُمْ أَبْنَاءكُمْ ذَلِكُمْ قَوْلُكُم بِأَفْوَاهِكُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَقُولُ الْحَقَّ وَهُوَ يَهْدِي السَّبِيلَ

4.                Ma jaAAala Allahu lirajulin min qalbayni fee jawfihi wama jaAAala azwajakumu allaee tuthahiroona minhunna ommahatikum wama jaAAala adAAiyaakum abnaakum thalikum qawlukum biafwahikum waAllahu yaqoolu alhaqqa wahuwa yahdee alssabeela
Allâh has not put two hearts in any person’s body, neither has HE made your those wives your real mothers, whom you declare as to be your mothers' backs (Az­Zihâr, saying to wife that you are to me like the back of my mother), nor has HE made your adopted son as your real son.  These are those things that you utter from your mouth, but Allâh says that thing which is based on truth and HE alone guides to the Right Path. 

ادْعُوهُمْ لِآبَائِهِمْ هُوَ أَقْسَطُ عِندَ اللَّهِ فَإِن لَّمْ تَعْلَمُوا آبَاءهُمْ فَإِخْوَانُكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ وَمَوَالِيكُمْ وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَا أَخْطَأْتُم بِهِ وَلَكِن مَّا تَعَمَّدَتْ قُلُوبُكُمْ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا

5.                OdAAoohum liabaihim huwa aqsatu AAinda Allahi fain lam taAAlamoo abaahum faikhwanukum fee alddeeni wamawaleekum walaysa AAalaykum junahun feema akhtatum bihi walakin ma taAAammadat quloobukum wakana Allahu ghafooran raheeman
Call the adopted sons after the names of their own fathers; this is more just in the Sight of Allâh.  And if you do not know who are their (real) fathers then they are your brothers in Faith (Deen) and are friends (Mawâlîkum).  There is no accountability on you if you say something unintentionally, but there is accountability for that which you say with intention of your heart.  Allâh is Most Forbearing and Most Loving.

النَّبِيُّ أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَأَزْوَاجُهُ أُمَّهَاتُهُمْ وَأُوْلُو الْأَرْحَامِ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلَى بِبَعْضٍ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُهَاجِرِينَ إِلَّا أَن تَفْعَلُوا إِلَى أَوْلِيَائِكُم مَّعْرُوفًا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فِي الْكِتَابِ مَسْطُورًا

6.                Alnnabiyyu awla bialmumineena min anfusihim waazwajuhu ommahatuhum waoloo alarhami baAAduhum awla bibaAAdin fee kitabi Allahi mina almumineena waalmuhajireena illa an tafAAaloo ila awliyaikum maAAroofan kana thalika fee alkitabi mastooran
No doubt, the Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) is superior for the believers than their own-selves, and the wives of the Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) are their mothers, but according to the Book of Allâh the blood relations have greater rights on one another than the believers and the immigrants  (Muhâjirûn), however if you (want to do) any good to your friends then you can do it.  This command has been written in the Book of Allâh."

وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ مِيثَاقَهُمْ وَمِنكَ وَمِن نُّوحٍ وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى وَعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ وَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُم مِّيثَاقًا غَلِيظًا

7.                Waith akhathna mina alnnabiyyeena meethaqahum waminka wamin noohin waibraheema wamoosa waAAeesa ibni maryama waakhathna minhum meethaqan ghaleethan
And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) remember that covenant which WE have taken from all the Prophets, from you (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) as well as from Nûh and Ibrâhim and Mûsa, and from 'Iesa, son of Maryam.  WE have taken firm promise from all of them.

لِيَسْأَلَ الصَّادِقِينَ عَن صِدْقِهِمْ وَأَعَدَّ لِلْكَافِرِينَ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا

8.                Liyasala alssadiqeena AAan sidqihim waaAAadda lilkafireena AAathaban aleeman
So, that (their Râbb) may question from the truthful people about their truthfulness, and HE has prepared painful torment for the infidels (Kafir).  (R) 17

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ جَاءتْكُمْ جُنُودٌ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا وَجُنُودًا لَّمْ تَرَوْهَا وَكَانَ اللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرًا

9.                Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo othkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum ith jaatkum junoodun faarsalna AAalayhim reehan wajunoodan lam tarawha wakana Allahu bima taAAmaloona baseeran
O people, who have brought Faith, remember the Favor of Allâh that HE has (just now) done to you.  When the armies attacked you then WE sent severe storm against them and sent such forces (against them) that you could not see.  Allâh was watching all that which you people were doing at that time.

إِذْ جَاؤُوكُم مِّن فَوْقِكُمْ وَمِنْ أَسْفَلَ مِنكُمْ وَإِذْ زَاغَتْ الْأَبْصَارُ وَبَلَغَتِ الْقُلُوبُ الْحَنَاجِرَ وَتَظُنُّونَ بِاللَّهِ الظُّنُونَا

10.             Ith jaookum min fawqikum wamin asfala minkum waith zaghati alabsaru wabalaghati alquloobu alhanajira watathunnoona biAllahi alththunoona
When the enemies came upon you from above and from below, when the eyes were petrified with fear, the hearts reached to throats, and you people start bringing all kinds of doubts about Allâh in your heart.

هُنَالِكَ ابْتُلِيَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَزُلْزِلُوا زِلْزَالًا شَدِيدًا

11.              Hunalika ibtuliya almuminoona wazulziloo zilzalan shadeedan
At that time, those who brought Faith were tested well and were severely shaken.

وَإِذْ يَقُولُ الْمُنَافِقُونَ وَالَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ مَّا وَعَدَنَا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ إِلَّا غُرُورًا

12.             Waith yaqoolu almunafiqoona waallatheena fee quloobihim maradun ma waAAadana Allahu warasooluhu illa ghurooran
Recall that occasion when the hypocrites and all those people in whose heart was a disease (of doubts) were clearly saying: "Whatever Allâh and HIS Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) promised us -- it was nothing but deception".

وَإِذْ قَالَت طَّائِفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَا أَهْلَ يَثْرِبَ لَا مُقَامَ لَكُمْ فَارْجِعُوا وَيَسْتَأْذِنُ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمُ النَّبِيَّ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّ بُيُوتَنَا عَوْرَةٌ وَمَا هِيَ بِعَوْرَةٍ إِن يُرِيدُونَ إِلَّا فِرَارًا

13.             Waith qalat taifatun minhum ya ahla yathriba la muqama lakum fairjiAAoo wayastathinu fareequn minhumu alnnabiyya yaqooloona inna buyootana AAawratun wama hiya biAAawratin in yureedoona illa firaran
When one group among them said: "O people of Yathrib (Al-Madinah), go back there is no way you can stand (against these armies)".  When their one group was asking for permission of the Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) saying: "Our homes are in danger."  Whereas they were not in danger, in fact they wanted to run away (from the battlefront).

وَلَوْ دُخِلَتْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنْ أَقْطَارِهَا ثُمَّ سُئِلُوا الْفِتْنَةَ لَآتَوْهَا وَمَا تَلَبَّثُوا بِهَا إِلَّا يَسِيرًا

14.             Walaw dukhilat AAalayhim min aqtariha thumma suiloo alfitnata laatawha wama talabbathoo biha illa yaseeran
If the enemies had entered from all sides of the city and at that time (if) they had been invited towards mischief (Al-­Fitnah) then they would surely have gone into it (committed it) and would have hardly any hesitation to be a part of mischief.

وَلَقَدْ كَانُوا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ مِن قَبْلُ لَا يُوَلُّونَ الْأَدْبَارَ وَكَانَ عَهْدُ اللَّهِ مَسْؤُولًا

15.             Walaqad kanoo AAahadoo Allaha min qablu la yuwalloona aladbara wakana AAahdu Allahi masoolan
These people had made a covenant with Allâh before it that they will not turn their backs, and the covenant made with Allâh must be held accountable.

قُل لَّن يَنفَعَكُمُ الْفِرَارُ إِن فَرَرْتُم مِّنَ الْمَوْتِ أَوِ الْقَتْلِ وَإِذًا لَّا تُمَتَّعُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا

16.             Qul lan yanfaAAakumu alfiraru in farartum mina almawti awi alqatli waithan la tumattaAAoona illa qaleelan
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), Tell them: "If you run away from death or killing then this escape will not benefit you at all.  After this you will be able to get a little while to enjoy (this worldly) life."

قُلْ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَعْصِمُكُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ إِنْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ سُوءًا أَوْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ رَحْمَةً وَلَا يَجِدُونَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَلِيًّا وَلَا نَصِيرًا

17.             Qul man tha allathee yaAAsimukum mina Allahi in arada bikum sooan aw arada bikum rahmatan wala yajidoona lahum min dooni Allahi waliyyan wala naseeran
Ask them: "Who can save you from Allâh -- if HE intends to harm you?  And who can stop HIS Mercy -- if HE intends to be kind on you?"  These people cannot find any helper and protector against Allâh.

قَدْ يَعْلَمُ اللَّهُ الْمُعَوِّقِينَ مِنكُمْ وَالْقَائِلِينَ لِإِخْوَانِهِمْ هَلُمَّ إِلَيْنَا وَلَا يَأْتُونَ الْبَأْسَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا

18.             Qad yaAAlamu Allahu almuAAawwiqeena minkum waalqaileena liikhwanihim halumma ilayna wala yatoona albasa illa qaleelan
Allâh knows those people very well among you who create hindrance (in war affairs), who say to their brothers: "Come toward us”.  Those who participate in the battle just for the sake of participation,

أَشِحَّةً عَلَيْكُمْ فَإِذَا جَاء الْخَوْفُ رَأَيْتَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ تَدُورُ أَعْيُنُهُمْ كَالَّذِي يُغْشَى عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْمَوْتِ فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ الْخَوْفُ سَلَقُوكُم بِأَلْسِنَةٍ حِدَادٍ أَشِحَّةً عَلَى الْخَيْرِ أُوْلَئِكَ لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا فَأَحْبَطَ اللَّهُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرًا

19.             Ashihhatan AAalaykum faitha jaa alkhawfu raaytahum yanthuroona ilayka tadooru aAAyunuhum kaallathee yughsha AAalayhi mina almawti faitha thahaba alkhawfu salaqookum bialsinatin hidadin ashihhatan AAala alkhayri olaika lam yuminoo faahbata Allahu aAAmalahum wakana thalika AAala Allahi yaseeran
Who are very hesitant to accompany you.  When the danger comes, they see you with their rolling eyes as the faint is prevailing over the one who is going to die, but when danger goes away then the same people becoming the greedy of benefits -- with scissors like sharp tongues come to welcome you.  These people never brought Faith; this is why Allâh has destroyed all their deeds.  And to do so is very easy for Allâh.

يَحْسَبُونَ الْأَحْزَابَ لَمْ يَذْهَبُوا وَإِن يَأْتِ الْأَحْزَابُ يَوَدُّوا لَوْ أَنَّهُم بَادُونَ فِي الْأَعْرَابِ يَسْأَلُونَ عَنْ أَنبَائِكُمْ وَلَوْ كَانُوا فِيكُم مَّا قَاتَلُوا إِلَّا قَلِيلًا

20.             Yahsaboona alahzaba lam yathhaboo wain yati alahzabu yawaddoo law annahum badoona fee alaAArabi yasaloona AAan anbaikum walaw kanoo feekum ma qataloo illa qaleelan
They are thinking that attacking army (Al-­Ahzâb) has not gone yet.  And if they attack again (Al-­Ahzâb) then on that occasion they wish that they should go and sit among the Bedouins in the desert and from there keep asking about you.  However, if they remain among you even then they will take least part in the fight.  (R) 18

لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِّمَن كَانَ يَرْجُو اللَّهَ وَالْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ وَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا

21.             Laqad kana lakum fee rasooli Allahi oswatun hasanatun liman kana yarjoo Allaha waalyawma alakhira wathakara Allaha katheeran
In fact, there was an excellent example for you among the Rasools of Allâh for every such person who hopes for Allah and the Last Day and extensively remembers Allâh.

وَلَمَّا رَأَى الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الْأَحْزَابَ قَالُوا هَذَا مَا وَعَدَنَا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَصَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَمَا زَادَهُمْ إِلَّا إِيمَانًا وَتَسْلِيمًا

22.             Walamma raa almuminoona alahzaba qaloo hatha ma waAAadana Allahu warasooluhu wasadaqa Allahu warasooluhu wama zadahum illa eemanan watasleeman
And (at that time the condition) of the true believers (was such) that when they saw attacking armies (Al-­Ahzâb) they cried out: "This is the same thing what Allâh and HIS Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) had promised us, Allâh and HIS Rasool were completely right (true).”  That incident increased their Faith and submissiveness (to Allâh, subhaana wa ta'aala).

مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُم مَّن قَضَى نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلًا

23.             Mina almumineena rijalun sadaqoo ma AAahadoo Allaha AAalayhi faminhum man qada nahbahu waminhum man yantathiru wama baddaloo tabdeelan
There are such people, among those who have brought Faith, who have proved their promises to be true (which were) made with Allâh.  Among them, some have fulfilled their obligations and some are waiting for the time.  They have not brought any change in their behaviors.

لِيَجْزِيَ اللَّهُ الصَّادِقِينَ بِصِدْقِهِمْ وَيُعَذِّبَ الْمُنَافِقِينَ إِن شَاء أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا

24.             Liyajziya Allahu alssadiqeena bisidqihim wayuAAaththiba almunafiqeena in shaa aw yatooba AAalayhim inna Allaha kana ghafooran raheeman
(This all happened for the reason) That Allâh may reward the truthful for their truthfulness and punish the hypocrites -- if HE Wills or accept their repentance if HE Wills, no doubt Allâh is Most Loving and Most Merciful.

وَرَدَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِغَيْظِهِمْ لَمْ يَنَالُوا خَيْرًا وَكَفَى اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الْقِتَالَ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ قَوِيًّا عَزِيزًا

25.             Waradda Allahu allatheena kafaroo bighaythihim lam yanaloo khayran wakafa Allahu almumineena alqitala wakana Allahu qawiyyan AAazeezan
Allâh repelled the infidels (Kafir), they withdrew with rage in their hearts without gaining any benefit, and Allâh was sufficient to fight on behalf of the believers, Allâh is All Powerful and Strong.

وَأَنزَلَ الَّذِينَ ظَاهَرُوهُم مِّنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ مِن صَيَاصِيهِمْ وَقَذَفَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ الرُّعْبَ فَرِيقًا تَقْتُلُونَ وَتَأْسِرُونَ فَرِيقًا

26.             Waanzala allatheena thaharoohum min ahli alkitabi min sayaseehim waqathafa fee quloobihimu alrruAAba fareeqan taqtuloona watasiroona fareeqan
Then among the people of the Book who had supported these attackers, Allâh brought them down from their castles and produced such panic in their hearts that today you are killing one group and arresting the other group.

وَأَوْرَثَكُمْ أَرْضَهُمْ وَدِيَارَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ وَأَرْضًا لَّمْ تَطَؤُوهَا وَكَانَ اللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرًا

27.             Waawrathakum ardahum wadiyarahum waamwalahum waardan lam tataooha wakana Allahu AAala kulli shayin qadeeran
HE made you heirs of their lands and their houses and their wealth and gave you that piece of land, which you had never conquered.  Allâh has Power over everything.  (R) 19

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُل لِّأَزْوَاجِكَ إِن كُنتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتَهَا فَتَعَالَيْنَ أُمَتِّعْكُنَّ وَأُسَرِّحْكُنَّ سَرَاحًا جَمِيلًا

28.             Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu qul liazwajika in kuntunna turidna alhayata alddunya wazeenataha fataAAalayna omattiAAkunna waosarrihkunna sarahan jameelan
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), tell your wives: “If you desire this world and its ornaments then come, I send you off in a fair way by giving you something.

وَإِن كُنتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَالدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ أَعَدَّ لِلْمُحْسِنَاتِ مِنكُنَّ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا

29.             Wain kuntunna turidna Allaha warasoolahu waalddara alakhirata fainna Allaha aAAadda lilmuhsinati minkunna ajran AAatheeman
And if you desire Allâh and HIS Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and the home of the Hereafter then should know that Allâh has prepared a great reward for those among you who are pious (Al-­Muhsinât).

يَا نِسَاء النَّبِيِّ مَن يَأْتِ مِنكُنَّ بِفَاحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ يُضَاعَفْ لَهَا الْعَذَابُ ضِعْفَيْنِ وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرًا

30.             Ya nisaa alnnabiyyi man yati minkunna bifahishatin mubayyinatin yudaAAaf laha alAAathabu diAAfayni wakana thalika AAala Allahi yaseeran
O wives of the Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), whoever of you will commit an act of an open indecency -- she will be given double punishment, it is very easy task for Allâh.
