Chapter 13

Total Verses: 111

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

وَمَا أُبَرِّىءُ نَفْسِي إِنَّ النَّفْسَ لأَمَّارَةٌ بِالسُّوءِ إِلاَّ مَا رَحِمَ رَبِّيَ إِنَّ رَبِّي غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

53.        Wama obarrio nafsee inna alnnafsa laammaratun bialssooi illa ma rahima rabbee inna rabbee ghafoorun raheemun
I am not giving any justification from my inner-soul, the inner-soul encourages towards the evil except that there is Mercy of my Râbb on someone, no doubt my Râbb is Oft-Forgiving and Merciful."

وَقَالَ الْمَلِكُ ائْتُونِي بِهِ أَسْتَخْلِصْهُ لِنَفْسِي فَلَمَّا كَلَّمَهُ قَالَ إِنَّكَ الْيَوْمَ لَدَيْنَا مِكِينٌ أَمِينٌ

54.        Waqala almaliku itoonee bihi astakhlishu linafsee falamma kallamahu qala innaka alyawma ladayna makeenun ameenun
The king said: "Bring him to me so that I designate him for myself."  When Yûsuf spoke with him, he (king) said: "Now you have an honorable place with us and we have full trust on your honesty."

قَالَ اجْعَلْنِي عَلَى خَزَآئِنِ الأَرْضِ إِنِّي حَفِيظٌ عَلِيمٌ

55.        Qala ijAAalnee AAala khazaini alardi innee hafeethun AAaleemun
Yûsuf said: "Hand-over the treasures of the country to me, I am protector and I also have knowledge."

وَكَذَلِكَ مَكَّنِّا لِيُوسُفَ فِي الأَرْضِ يَتَبَوَّأُ مِنْهَا حَيْثُ يَشَاء نُصِيبُ بِرَحْمَتِنَا مَن نَّشَاء وَلاَ نُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ

56.        Wakathalika makanna liyoosufa fee alardi yatabawwao minha haythu yashao nuseebu birahmatina man nashao wala nudeeAAu ajra almuhsineena
In this way WE smoothen the path for Yûsuf to rule on that land.  He was authoritative to make place for him wherever he wanted.  WE grant OUR Mercy whom WE want; the reward of pious people is never wasted with US (Al-Muhsinûn),

وَلَأَجْرُ الآخِرَةِ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَكَانُواْ يَتَّقُونَ

57.        Walaajru alakhirati khayrun lillatheena amanoo wakanoo yattaqoona
And the reward of the Hereafter is lot better for those who brought Faith and kept doing their duty by fearing Allâh. (R) 1

وَجَاء إِخْوَةُ يُوسُفَ فَدَخَلُواْ عَلَيْهِ فَعَرَفَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُ مُنكِرُونَ

58.        Wajaa ikhwatu yoosufa fadakhaloo AAalayhi faAAarafahum wahum lahu munkiroona
Yûsuf's brothers came to Egypt and presented before him.  He (Yûsuf') recognized them but they were unaware of him.

وَلَمَّا جَهَّزَهُم بِجَهَازِهِمْ قَالَ ائْتُونِي بِأَخٍ لَّكُم مِّنْ أَبِيكُمْ أَلاَ تَرَوْنَ أَنِّي أُوفِي الْكَيْلَ وَأَنَاْ خَيْرُ الْمُنزِلِينَ

59.        Walamma jahhazahum bijahazihim qala itoonee biakhin lakum min abeekum ala tarawna annee oofee alkayla waana khayru almunzileena
And when he got their goods ready then at the time of departure he said to them: "Bring your step brother to me.  Don't you see that I give full measure and how good host am I?

فَإِن لَّمْ تَأْتُونِي بِهِ فَلاَ كَيْلَ لَكُمْ عِندِي وَلاَ تَقْرَبُونِ

60.        Fain lam tatoonee bihi fala kayla lakum AAindee wala taqrabooni
If you will not bring him to me then I do not have any grain for you moreover you should not even come closer to me." 

قَالُواْ سَنُرَاوِدُ عَنْهُ أَبَاهُ وَإِنَّا لَفَاعِلُونَ

61.        Qaloo sanurawidu AAanhu abahu wainna lafaAAiloona
They replied: "We shall try that father agrees to send him, and we will surely do so."

وَقَالَ لِفِتْيَانِهِ اجْعَلُواْ بِضَاعَتَهُمْ فِي رِحَالِهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَعْرِفُونَهَا إِذَا انقَلَبُواْ إِلَى أَهْلِهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

62.        Waqala lifityanihi ijAAaloo bidaAAatahum fee rihalihim laAAallahum yaAArifoonaha itha inqalaboo ila ahlihim laAAallahum yarjiAAoona
Yûsuf gave gesture to his servants that "The wealth they have given for the grain secretly put it in their merchandise (luggage)".  Yûsuf' did so with a hope that they will recognize their returned wealth after reaching home (or will be obliged for this kindness) and (it is) quite possible that they might come back.

فَلَمَّا رَجِعُوا إِلَى أَبِيهِمْ قَالُواْ يَا أَبَانَا مُنِعَ مِنَّا الْكَيْلُ فَأَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا أَخَانَا نَكْتَلْ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ

63.        Falamma rajaAAoo ila abeehim qaloo ya abana muniAAa minna alkaylu faarsil maAAana akhana naktal wainna lahu lahafithoona
When they returned to their father, they said: "Dear father, for next time we have been denied for the grain, therefore please send our brother with us so that we could bring grain.  And we are responsible for his security."

قَالَ هَلْ آمَنُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ إِلاَّ كَمَا أَمِنتُكُمْ عَلَى أَخِيهِ مِن قَبْلُ فَاللّهُ خَيْرٌ حَافِظًا وَهُوَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ

64.        Qala hal amanukum AAalayhi illa kama amintukum AAala akheehi min qablu faAllahu khayrun hafithan wahuwa arhamu alrrahimeena
Father replied: "Should I trust you for him the same way as I trusted you before for his brother?  Allâh Alone is the best Protector and HE is the Most Merciful of all."

وَلَمَّا فَتَحُواْ مَتَاعَهُمْ وَجَدُواْ بِضَاعَتَهُمْ رُدَّتْ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالُواْ يَا أَبَانَا مَا نَبْغِي هَـذِهِ بِضَاعَتُنَا رُدَّتْ إِلَيْنَا وَنَمِيرُ أَهْلَنَا وَنَحْفَظُ أَخَانَا وَنَزْدَادُ كَيْلَ بَعِيرٍ ذَلِكَ كَيْلٌ يَسِيرٌ

65.        Walamma fatahoo mataAAahum wajadoo bidaAAatahum ruddat ilayhim qaloo ya abana ma nabghee hathihi bidaAAatuna ruddat ilayna wanameeru ahlana wanahfathu akhana wanazdadu kayla baAAeerin thalika kaylun yaseerun
Then when they opened their baggage they found that their money have been returned to them.  Seeing this they cried out: "Dear father! What else we need, see our money has also been returned to us.  So now we will go and get provisions for our family, (we) will also guard our brother and bring one more measure of a camel's load, this much grain will easily increase."

قَالَ لَنْ أُرْسِلَهُ مَعَكُمْ حَتَّى تُؤْتُونِ مَوْثِقًا مِّنَ اللّهِ لَتَأْتُنَّنِي بِهِ إِلاَّ أَن يُحَاطَ بِكُمْ فَلَمَّا آتَوْهُ مَوْثِقَهُمْ قَالَ اللّهُ عَلَى مَا نَقُولُ وَكِيلٌ

66.        Qala lan orsilahu maAAakum hatta tutooni mawthiqan mina Allahi latatunnanee bihi illa an yuhata bikum falamma atawhu mawthiqahum qala Allahu AAala ma naqoolu wakeelun
Their father (Ya'qûb) said: "I will never send him with you until you give me pledge in the name of Allâh that you will certainly bring him back to me unless you are surrounded (by enemies, etc.)."  When they gave their pledges to him then he said: Look, Allâh is Witness above our pledges."

وَقَالَ يَا بَنِيَّ لاَ تَدْخُلُواْ مِن بَابٍ وَاحِدٍ وَادْخُلُواْ مِنْ أَبْوَابٍ مُّتَفَرِّقَةٍ وَمَا أُغْنِي عَنكُم مِّنَ اللّهِ مِن شَيْءٍ إِنِ الْحُكْمُ إِلاَّ لِلّهِ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَعَلَيْهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ

67.        Waqala ya baniyya la tadkhuloo min babin wahidin waodkhuloo min abwabin mutafarriqatin wama oghnee AAankum mina Allahi min shayin ini alhukmu illa lillahi AAalayhi tawakkaltu waAAalayhi falyatawakkali almutawakkiloona
Then he said: "O my children, do not enter in the capital of Egypt through one gate but enter through different gates.  But I cannot save you from the Will of Allâh no one's command is implemented except HIM, I have put my trust in HIM, and whoever wants to trust should put one’s trust in HIM."

وَلَمَّا دَخَلُواْ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرَهُمْ أَبُوهُم مَّا كَانَ يُغْنِي عَنْهُم مِّنَ اللّهِ مِن شَيْءٍ إِلاَّ حَاجَةً فِي نَفْسِ يَعْقُوبَ قَضَاهَا وَإِنَّهُ لَذُو عِلْمٍ لِّمَا عَلَّمْنَاهُ وَلَـكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ

68.        Walamma dakhaloo min haythu amarahum aboohum ma kana yughnee AAanhum mina Allahi min shayin illa hajatan fee nafsi yaAAqooba qadaha wainnahu lathoo AAilmin lima AAallamnahu walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona
And it so happened that when they entered in the city (through different gates) according to their father's advice his precautionary plan did not avail against the Will of Allâh. Yes, Ya'qûb tried to do it only to avert the fear he had in his heart.  No doubt he was knowledgeable with the education WE gave him but most of the people do not know the truth of the matter. (R) 2

وَلَمَّا دَخَلُواْ عَلَى يُوسُفَ آوَى إِلَيْهِ أَخَاهُ قَالَ إِنِّي أَنَاْ أَخُوكَ فَلاَ تَبْتَئِسْ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ

69.        Walamma dakhaloo AAala yoosufa awa ilayhi akhahu qala innee ana akhooka fala tabtais bima kanoo yaAAmaloona
These people came to Yûsuf and he called his brother alone to himself and told him: "I am your same brother (who was lost), now you should not grieve for those things which these people have been doing."

فَلَمَّا جَهَّزَهُم بِجَهَازِهِمْ جَعَلَ السِّقَايَةَ فِي رَحْلِ أَخِيهِ ثُمَّ أَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌ أَيَّتُهَا الْعِيرُ إِنَّكُمْ لَسَارِقُونَ

70.        Falamma jahhazahum bijahazihim jaAAala alssiqayata fee rahli akheehi thumma aththana muaththinun ayyatuha alAAeeru innakum lasariqoona
When Yûsuf helped in loading the provisions for these brothers, he put his bowl into his brother's baggage.  Then a crier called out: "O people of the caravan, you are thieves"

قَالُواْ وَأَقْبَلُواْ عَلَيْهِم مَّاذَا تَفْقِدُونَ

71.        Qaloo waaqbaloo AAalayhim matha tafqidoona
They turned back and asked, "what have you lost?"

قَالُواْ نَفْقِدُ صُوَاعَ الْمَلِكِ وَلِمَن جَاء بِهِ حِمْلُ بَعِيرٍ وَأَنَاْ بِهِ زَعِيمٌ

72.        Qaloo nafqidu suwaAAa almaliki waliman jaa bihi himlu baAAeerin waana bihi zaAAeemun
The government servant said: "We do not find the king’s bowl."  (And their leader added) "Whoever will bring it back a load of camel is a reward for him; I take the responsibility of it."

قَالُواْ تَاللّهِ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتُم مَّا جِئْنَا لِنُفْسِدَ فِي الأَرْضِ وَمَا كُنَّا سَارِقِينَ

73.        Qaloo taAllahi laqad AAalimtum ma jina linufsida fee alardi wama kunna sariqeena
The brothers said: "By Allâh you people know it very well that we do not come to this country to make mischief and we are not the people who steal."

قَالُواْ فَمَا جَزَآؤُهُ إِن كُنتُمْ كَاذِبِينَ

74.        Qaloo fama jazaohu in kuntum kathibeena
They said, "well, if your word proved to be wrong then what is the punishment of the thief?"

قَالُواْ جَزَآؤُهُ مَن وُجِدَ فِي رَحْلِهِ فَهُوَ جَزَاؤُهُ كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الظَّالِمِينَ

75.        Qaloo jazaohu man wujida fee rahlihi fahuwa jazaohu kathalika najzee alththalimeena
They replied: "His punishment?  In whose luggage the thing is found he should be kept himself in his punishment, this is our custom of punishing the wrong doers."

فَبَدَأَ بِأَوْعِيَتِهِمْ قَبْلَ وِعَاء أَخِيهِ ثُمَّ اسْتَخْرَجَهَا مِن وِعَاء أَخِيهِ كَذَلِكَ كِدْنَا لِيُوسُفَ مَا كَانَ لِيَأْخُذَ أَخَاهُ فِي دِينِ الْمَلِكِ إِلاَّ أَن يَشَاء اللّهُ نَرْفَعُ دَرَجَاتٍ مِّن نَّشَاء وَفَوْقَ كُلِّ ذِي عِلْمٍ عَلِيمٌ

76.        Fabadaa biawAAiyatihim qabla wiAAai akheehi thumma istakhrajaha min wiAAai akheehi kathalika kidna liyoosufa ma kana liyakhutha akhahu fee deeni almaliki illa an yashaa Allahu narfaAAu darajatin man nashao wafawqa kulli thee AAilmin AAaleemun
Then Yûsuf began searching in their baggage before his own (real) brother’s, then he produced the lost thing from his brother’s baggage - in this way WE supported Yûsuf with OUR Plan.  It was not his job to hold his brother in the king’s deen (according to the Egyptian law) unless Allâh wanted this way.  WE raise the ranks high of whomsoever WE want, and there is one such knowledgeable who is exalted over all the knowledgeable.

قَالُواْ إِن يَسْرِقْ فَقَدْ سَرَقَ أَخٌ لَّهُ مِن قَبْلُ فَأَسَرَّهَا يُوسُفُ فِي نَفْسِهِ وَلَمْ يُبْدِهَا لَهُمْ قَالَ أَنتُمْ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَاللّهُ أَعْلَمْ بِمَا تَصِفُونَ

77.        Qaloo in yasriq faqad saraqa akhun lahu min qablu faasarraha yoosufu fee nafsihi walam yubdiha lahum qala antum sharrun makanan waAllahu aAAlamu bima tasifoona
Those brothers said: "It is not a matter of surprise if he steals, before him his brother (Yûsuf) has also committed a theft."  Yûsuf kept quiet after hearing their talk and did not reveal the truth on them, but he only whispered this much that, "You people are very bad, (on my face) the blame you are putting on me, Allâh knows best the truth of it."

قَالُواْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْعَزِيزُ إِنَّ لَهُ أَبًا شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا فَخُذْ أَحَدَنَا مَكَانَهُ إِنَّا نَرَاكَ مِنَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ

78.        Qaloo ya ayyuha alAAazeezu inna lahu aban shaykhan kabeeran fakhuth ahadana makanahu inna naraka mina almuhsineena
They replied: "O ruler of the land ('Azîz), his father is very old man, take one of us in his place, we see that you are very noble person (Muhsinûn)."

قَالَ مَعَاذَ اللّهِ أَن نَّأْخُذَ إِلاَّ مَن وَجَدْنَا مَتَاعَنَا عِندَهُ إِنَّـآ إِذًا لَّظَالِمُونَ

79.        Qala maAAatha Allahi an nakhutha illa man wajadna mataAAana AAindahu inna ithan lathalimoona
Yûsuf replied: "Allâh forbid, how can we keep another person?  If we keep other person and let the one go with whom we have found our property then we will be cruel (Zâlimûn). (R) 3

فَلَمَّا اسْتَيْأَسُواْ مِنْهُ خَلَصُواْ نَجِيًّا قَالَ كَبِيرُهُمْ أَلَمْ تَعْلَمُواْ أَنَّ أَبَاكُمْ قَدْ أَخَذَ عَلَيْكُم مَّوْثِقًا مِّنَ اللّهِ وَمِن قَبْلُ مَا فَرَّطتُمْ فِي يُوسُفَ فَلَنْ أَبْرَحَ الأَرْضَ حَتَّىَ يَأْذَنَ لِي أَبِي أَوْ يَحْكُمَ اللّهُ لِي وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الْحَاكِمِينَ

80.        Falamma istayasoo minhu khalasoo najiyyan qala kabeeruhum alam taAAlamoo anna abakum qad akhatha AAalaykum mawthiqan mina Allahi wamin qablu ma farrattum fee yoosufa falan abraha alarda hatta yathana lee abee aw yahkuma Allahu lee wahuwa khayru alhakimeena
When they got disappointed from Yûsuf, they went in a corner and started counseling with each other. The one who was eldest among them said: "Do you not know that your father has taken an oath from you in the name of Allâh?  And you also know that which you have done about Yûsuf before it.  Now I will never go from here until my father gives me permission, or Allâh decides something in my favor because HE is the best of all judges.

ارْجِعُواْ إِلَى أَبِيكُمْ فَقُولُواْ يَا أَبَانَا إِنَّ ابْنَكَ سَرَقَ وَمَا شَهِدْنَا إِلاَّ بِمَا عَلِمْنَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِلْغَيْبِ حَافِظِينَ

81.        IrjiAAoo ila abeekum faqooloo ya abana inna ibnaka saraqa wama shahidna illa bima AAalimna wama kunna lilghaybi hafitheena
You go back and tell your father, dear father, your son has committed a theft.  We did not see him stealing.  We are stating that what we came to know, and we were unable to guard the unseen.

وَاسْأَلِ الْقَرْيَةَ الَّتِي كُنَّا فِيهَا وَالْعِيْرَ الَّتِي أَقْبَلْنَا فِيهَا وَإِنَّا لَصَادِقُونَ

82.        Waisali alqaryata allatee kunna feeha waalAAeera allatee aqbalna feeha wainna lasadiqoona
You ask the people of that town where we were.  Inquire from the caravan with whom we have come.  We are truthful in our statement."

قَالَ بَلْ سَوَّلَتْ لَكُمْ أَنفُسُكُمْ أَمْرًا فَصَبْرٌ جَمِيلٌ عَسَى اللّهُ أَن يَأْتِيَنِي بِهِمْ جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْعَلِيمُ الْحَكِيمُ

83.        Qala bal sawwalat lakum anfusukum amran fasabrun jameelun AAasa Allahu an yatiyanee bihim jameeAAan innahu huwa alAAaleemu alhakeemu
After hearing this story father responded: "In fact, your souls have made another big thing easy for you.  Well, I will be patient on it and will do it with submissiveness.  It is possible that Allâh may bring all of them to me, HE knows everything and HIS all work is based on Wisdom (Hikmah)."

وَتَوَلَّى عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَا أَسَفَى عَلَى يُوسُفَ وَابْيَضَّتْ عَيْنَاهُ مِنَ الْحُزْنِ فَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ

84.        Watawalla AAanhum waqala ya asafa AAala yoosufa waibyaddat AAaynahu mina alhuzni fahuwa katheemun
Then he turned his face away from them and said: "Oh, Yûsuf!"-He was grieving in his heart and his eyes were turned white- 

قَالُواْ تَالله تَفْتَأُ تَذْكُرُ يُوسُفَ حَتَّى تَكُونَ حَرَضًا أَوْ تَكُونَ مِنَ الْهَالِكِينَ

85.        Qaloo taAllahi taftao tathkuru yoosufa hatta takoona haradan aw takoona mina alhalikeena
Sons said: "By Allâh! You only keep remembering Yûsuf.  Now you have reached to the point that you will ruin your health in his grief or will kill yourself."

قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَشْكُو بَثِّي وَحُزْنِي إِلَى اللّهِ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ اللّهِ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ

86.        Qala innama ashkoo baththee wahuznee ila Allahi waaAAlamu mina Allahi ma la taAAlamoona
He said: "I do not complain of my grief and sorrow to anyone else except Allâh and as I know Allâh you do not know.

يَا بَنِيَّ اذْهَبُواْ فَتَحَسَّسُواْ مِن يُوسُفَ وَأَخِيهِ وَلاَ تَيْأَسُواْ مِن رَّوْحِ اللّهِ إِنَّهُ لاَ يَيْأَسُ مِن رَّوْحِ اللّهِ إِلاَّ الْقَوْمُ الْكَافِرُونَ

87.        Ya baniyya ithhaboo fatahassasoo min yoosufa waakheehi wala tayasoo min rawhi Allahi innahu la yayasu min rawhi Allahi illa alqawmu alkafiroona
My children go and search for Yûsuf and his brother, do not be disappointed from the Mercy of Allâh.  Only infidels (Kafir) become hopeless from HIS Mercy."

فَلَمَّا دَخَلُواْ عَلَيْهِ قَالُواْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْعَزِيزُ مَسَّنَا وَأَهْلَنَا الضُّرُّ وَجِئْنَا بِبِضَاعَةٍ مُّزْجَاةٍ فَأَوْفِ لَنَا الْكَيْلَ وَتَصَدَّقْ عَلَيْنَآ إِنَّ اللّهَ يَجْزِي الْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ

88.        Falamma dakhaloo AAalayhi qaloo ya ayyuha alAAazeezu massana waahlana alddurru wajina bibidaAAatin muzjatin faawfi lana alkayla watasaddaq AAalayna inna Allaha yajzee almutasaddiqeena
When these people went back to Egypt and presented before Yûsuf then they said: "O ruler of the land! Our families and we are in great difficulty, and we have brought very little capital, you please give us full measure of grain and some charity as well.  Allâh rewards those who give charity."

قَالَ هَلْ عَلِمْتُم مَّا فَعَلْتُم بِيُوسُفَ وَأَخِيهِ إِذْ أَنتُمْ جَاهِلُونَ

89.        Qala hal AAalimtum ma faAAaltum biyoosufa waakheehi ith antum jahiloona
(Hearing this Yûsuf could not stop) He said: "Do you remember what you did to Yûsuf and his brother, when you were ignorant?"

قَالُواْ أَإِنَّكَ لَأَنتَ يُوسُفُ قَالَ أَنَاْ يُوسُفُ وَهَـذَا أَخِي قَدْ مَنَّ اللّهُ عَلَيْنَا إِنَّهُ مَن يَتَّقِ وَيِصْبِرْ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ

90.        Qaloo ainnaka laanta yoosufa qala ana yoosufu wahatha akhee qad manna Allahu AAalayna innahu man yattaqi wayasbir fainna Allaha la yudeeAAu ajra almuhsineena
They were astonished and said: "Oh, are you Yûsuf?"  He responded: "Yes I am Yûsuf and this is my brother.  Allâh has done Mercy on us.  The truth is that if anyone practices piety and patience then the reward of such pious person is not wasted in the Sight of Allâh."

قَالُواْ تَاللّهِ لَقَدْ آثَرَكَ اللّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَإِن كُنَّا لَخَاطِئِينَ

91.        Qaloo taAllahi laqad atharaka Allahu AAalayna wain kunna lakhatieena
They said: "By Allâh! Allâh has preferred you above us and in fact we were mistaken."

قَالَ لاَ تَثْرَيبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ يَغْفِرُ اللّهُ لَكُمْ وَهُوَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ

92.        Qala la tathreeba AAalaykumu alyawma yaghfiru Allahu lakum wahuwa arhamu alrrahimeena
He responded: "Today there is no impoundment on you, may Allâh forgive you, HE is the Most Merciful of all!

اذْهَبُواْ بِقَمِيصِي هَـذَا فَأَلْقُوهُ عَلَى وَجْهِ أَبِي يَأْتِ بَصِيرًا وَأْتُونِي بِأَهْلِكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

93.        Ithhaboo biqameesee hatha faalqoohu AAala wajhi abee yati baseeran watoonee biahlikum ajmaAAeena
Go, take my shirt and put it on my father’s face, his sight will return, and bring all your families to me." (R) 4

وَلَمَّا فَصَلَتِ الْعِيرُ قَالَ أَبُوهُمْ إِنِّي لَأَجِدُ رِيحَ يُوسُفَ لَوْلاَ أَن تُفَنِّدُونِ

94.        Walamma fasalati alAAeeru qala aboohum innee laajidu reeha yoosufa lawla an tufannidooni
When this caravan departed (from Egypt), their father (in Kenaan) said: "I am smelling the scent of Yûsuf, you people should not start saying that in old age I am gone out of mind."

قَالُواْ تَاللّهِ إِنَّكَ لَفِي ضَلاَلِكَ الْقَدِيمِ

95.        Qaloo taAllahi innaka lafee dalalika alqadeemi
The people of the family said: "By Allâh! You are still in your old craze"

فَلَمَّا أَن جَاء الْبَشِيرُ أَلْقَاهُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ فَارْتَدَّ بَصِيرًا قَالَ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكُمْ إِنِّي أَعْلَمُ مِنَ اللّهِ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ

96.        Falamma an jaa albasheeru alqahu AAala wajhihi fairtadda baseeran qala alam aqul lakum innee aAAlamu mina Allahi ma la taAAlamoona
Then, when the bearer of the good news arrived then he put Yûsuf’s shirt over Ya'qûb’s face and suddenly his eyesight came back.   Then he said: "Did I not tell you? I know that from Allâh which you do not know."

قَالُواْ يَا أَبَانَا اسْتَغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا خَاطِئِينَ

97.        Qaloo ya abana istaghfir lana thunoobana inna kunna khatieena
They all cried out: "Dear father! Please pray for the forgiveness of our sins, in fact we were mistaken."

قَالَ سَوْفَ أَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكُمْ رَبِّيَ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ

98.        Qala sawfa astaghfiru lakum rabbee innahu huwa alghafooru alrraheemu
He said: "I will pray to my Râbb for your forgiveness, HE is Oft-Forgiving and Merciful."

فَلَمَّا دَخَلُواْ عَلَى يُوسُفَ آوَى إِلَيْهِ أَبَوَيْهِ وَقَالَ ادْخُلُواْ مِصْرَ إِن شَاء اللّهُ آمِنِينَ

99.        Falamma dakhaloo AAala yoosufa awa ilayhi abawayhi waqala odkhuloo misra in shaa Allahu amineena
Then, when these people reached to Yûsuf, he made his parents to sit with him and (said to all his family members): Well, now enter in the city, if Allâh wills you will live in peace and comfort."

وَرَفَعَ أَبَوَيْهِ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ وَخَرُّواْ لَهُ سُجَّدًا وَقَالَ يَا أَبَتِ هَـذَا تَأْوِيلُ رُؤْيَايَ مِن قَبْلُ قَدْ جَعَلَهَا رَبِّي حَقًّا وَقَدْ أَحْسَنَ بَي إِذْ أَخْرَجَنِي مِنَ السِّجْنِ وَجَاء بِكُم مِّنَ الْبَدْوِ مِن بَعْدِ أَن نَّزغَ الشَّيْطَانُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ إِخْوَتِي إِنَّ رَبِّي لَطِيفٌ لِّمَا يَشَاء إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْعَلِيمُ الْحَكِيمُ

100.      WarafaAAa abawayhi AAala alAAarshi wakharroo lahu sujjadan waqala ya abati hatha taweelu ruyaya min qablu qad jaAAalaha rabbee haqqan waqad ahsana bee ith akhrajanee mina alssijni wajaa bikum mina albadwi min baAAdi an nazagha alshshaytanu baynee wabayna ikhwatee inna rabbee lateefun lima yashao innahu huwa alAAaleemu alhakeemu
(After entering into the city) He raised his parents to sit on the throne with him and all inadvertently bow down before him in prostration.  Yûsuf said: "Dear father! This is the interpretation of my dream that I dreamt long before; my Râbb has made it to come true.  It is HIS Mercy that (HE) got me out of the prison, and brought you all to me from the desert, whereas Shaitân had sown enmity between my brothers and me.  The fact is that my Râbb fulfills HIS Will with unnoticed plans; no doubt HE is All-Knowing and All-Wise.

رَبِّ قَدْ آتَيْتَنِي مِنَ الْمُلْكِ وَعَلَّمْتَنِي مِن تَأْوِيلِ الأَحَادِيثِ فَاطِرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ أَنتَ وَلِيِّي فِي الدُّنُيَا وَالآخِرَةِ تَوَفَّنِي مُسْلِمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ

101.      Rabbi qad ataytanee mina almulki waAAallamtanee min taweeli alahadeethi fatira alssamawati waalardi anta waliyyee fee alddunya waalakhirati tawaffanee musliman waalhiqnee bialssaliheena
"O my Râbb! YOU granted me the sovereignty and taught me to get to the bottom of the things. Creator of the skies and the earth, YOU are my Protector and Helper (Walî) in this world as well as in the Hereafter, make me to die on Islam, and in the end include me with the righteous."

ذَلِكَ مِنْ أَنبَاء الْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهِ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ أَجْمَعُواْ أَمْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ يَمْكُرُونَ

102.      Thalika min anbai alghaybi nooheehi ilayka wama kunta ladayhim ith ajmaAAoo amrahum wahum yamkuroona
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) this is of the news of the unseen (Ghaib), which WE are revealing to you otherwise you were not present at that time when Yûsuf’s brothers had conspired collectively.

وَمَا أَكْثَرُ النَّاسِ وَلَوْ حَرَصْتَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ

103.      Wama aktharu alnnasi walaw harasta bimumineena
But no matter how eagerly you desire most of the people among them are not going to accept.

وَمَا تَسْأَلُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ هُوَ إِلاَّ ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَالَمِينَ

104.      Wama tasaluhum AAalayhi min ajrin in huwa illa thikrun lilAAalameena
Whereas you do not ask for any reward for this service.  It (Al-Qur'ân) is an advice that is publicly available for the entire mankind ('Alamîn). (R) 5

وَكَأَيِّن مِّن آيَةٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ يَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهَا وَهُمْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضُونَ

105.      Wakaayyin min ayatin fee alssamawati waalardi yamurroona AAalayha wahum AAanha muAAridoona
There are many signs on the earth and in the skies, from which these people keep passing by and do not pay any attention.

وَمَا يُؤْمِنُ أَكْثَرُهُمْ بِاللّهِ إِلاَّ وَهُم مُّشْرِكُونَ

106.      Wama yuminu aktharuhum biAllahi illa wahum mushrikoona
Most of them believe in Allâh but in a way that (they) join others (deities) with HIM.

أَفَأَمِنُواْ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمْ غَاشِيَةٌ مِّنْ عَذَابِ اللّهِ أَوْ تَأْتِيَهُمُ السَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لاَ يَشْعُرُونَ

107.      Afaaminoo an tatiyahum ghashiyatun min AAathabi Allahi aw tatiyahumu alssaAAatu baghtatan wahum la yashAAuroona
Are they satisfied that any cruelty of punishment of Allâh will not fall on them or in their unawareness the hour of doom will not suddenly come upon them?

قُلْ هَـذِهِ سَبِيلِي أَدْعُو إِلَى اللّهِ عَلَى بَصِيرَةٍ أَنَاْ وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَنِي وَسُبْحَانَ اللّهِ وَمَا أَنَاْ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ

108.      Qul hathihi sabeelee adAAoo ila Allahi AAala baseeratin ana wamani ittabaAAanee wasubhana Allahi wama ana mina almushrikeena
You (O Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) tell them clearly: "That my way is that I invite (you all) towards Allâh -- I am also myself seeing my way in full light and as well as my companions', and Allâh is Pure and Exalted and I do not have any relation with those who associate partners with Allâh (Al-Mushrikûn)."

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ إِلاَّ رِجَالاً نُّوحِي إِلَيْهِم مِّنْ أَهْلِ الْقُرَى أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُواْ فِي الأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُواْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَدَارُ الآخِرَةِ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِينَ اتَّقَواْ أَفَلاَ تَعْقِلُونَ

109.      Wama arsalna min qablika illa rijalan noohee ilayhim min ahli alqura afalam yaseeroo fee alardi fayanthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablihim waladaru alakhirati khayrun lillatheena ittaqaw afala taAAqiloona
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), the messengers WE had sent before you they all were human beings and were from among the residents of these towns, and WE have been sending the Revelation towards them.  Have then these people not traveled through the land that they did not see the end of those nations who have passed before them?  Certainly, the home of the Hereafter is far better for those people who (by accepting the message of Prophets) adopted the way of piety.  What, will you people not understand even now?

حَتَّى إِذَا اسْتَيْأَسَ الرُّسُلُ وَظَنُّواْ أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ كُذِبُواْ جَاءهُمْ نَصْرُنَا فَنُجِّيَ مَن نَّشَاء وَلاَ يُرَدُّ بَأْسُنَا عَنِ الْقَوْمِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ

110.      Hatta itha istayasa alrrusulu wathannoo annahum qad kuthiboo jaahum nasruna fanujjiya man nashao wala yuraddu basuna AAani alqawmi almujrimeena
(It has been happing with the former prophets that they have been advising for long time and people did not listen to them) Until when the messengers became hopeless from the people and people also thought that a lie had been told to them, then all of sudden OUR help reached to the messengers.  And when such occasion comes then OUR Principle is that WE save whom WE wish and OUR Punishment cannot be averted from the criminals (Mujrimûn).

لَقَدْ كَانَ فِي قَصَصِهِمْ عِبْرَةٌ لِّأُوْلِي الأَلْبَابِ مَا كَانَ حَدِيثًا يُفْتَرَى وَلَـكِن تَصْدِيقَ الَّذِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَتَفْصِيلَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ

111.      Laqad kana fee qasasihim AAibratun liolee alalbabi ma kana hadeethan yuftara walakin tasdeeqa allathee bayna yadayhi watafseela kulli shayin wahudan warahmatan liqawmin yuminoona
In the stories of former people there is lesson for those who have wisdom.  Whatever is narrated in Al-Qur’ân these are not the forged statements whereas it is a confirmation of those books, which have been sent before it and a detail of everything and a Guidance and Blessing for those who brought Faith. (R) 6

“Ar-Ra'ad – The Thunder” – (Makki - 13^th Surah)

Total Verses: 43

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

المر تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ وَالَّذِيَ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ الْحَقُّ وَلَـكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ

1.          Alif-Lâm-Mîm-Râ tilka ayatu alkitabi waallathee onzila ilayka min rabbika alhaqqu walakinna akthara alnnasi la yuminoona
(Alif-Lâm-Mîm-Râ -- Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala, Alone knows its meanings).  These are the Verses of the Book of Allâh and whatever has been revealed to you from your Râbb that is the truth, but most of the people (of your nation) do not believe.

اللّهُ الَّذِي رَفَعَ السَّمَاوَاتِ بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ تَرَوْنَهَا ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى عَلَى الْعَرْشِ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ يَجْرِي لأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى يُدَبِّرُ الأَمْرَ يُفَصِّلُ الآيَاتِ لَعَلَّكُم بِلِقَاء رَبِّكُمْ تُوقِنُونَ

2.          Allahu allathee rafaAAa alssamawati bighayri AAamadin tarawnaha thumma istawa AAala alAAarshi wasakhkhara alshshamsa waalqamara kullun yajree liajalin musamman yudabbiru alamra yufassilu alayati laAAallakum biliqai rabbikum tooqinoona
HE is Allâh WHO established the skies without such pillars that you can see, then HE rose above (Istawâ) HIS Throne of Kingdom, and HE subjected the sun and the moon to a law.  Everything of this arrangement is in order for an appointed term and Allâh is the One WHO is regulating all these affairs.  HE presents the Signs (Ayât) in details and clearly perhaps you may believe in meeting your Râbb.

وَهُوَ الَّذِي مَدَّ الأَرْضَ وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنْهَارًا وَمِن كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ جَعَلَ فِيهَا زَوْجَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ يُغْشِي اللَّيْلَ النَّهَارَ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

3.          Wahuwa allathee madda alarda wajaAAala feeha rawasiya waanharan wamin kulli alththamarati jaAAala feeha zawjayni ithnayni yughshee allayla alnnahara inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yatafakkaroona
And HE is the One WHO has spread-out the earth, fixed the pegs of mountains in it and has channeled the rivers.  HE has created pairs of every kind of fruits and HE makes the night to cover the day.  There are great signs (Ayât) in all these things for those people who ponder upon.

وَفِي الأَرْضِ قِطَعٌ مُّتَجَاوِرَاتٌ وَجَنَّاتٌ مِّنْ أَعْنَابٍ وَزَرْعٌ وَنَخِيلٌ صِنْوَانٌ وَغَيْرُ صِنْوَانٍ يُسْقَى بِمَاء وَاحِدٍ وَنُفَضِّلُ بَعْضَهَا عَلَى بَعْضٍ فِي الأُكُلِ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ

4.          Wafee alardi qitaAAun mutajawiratun wajannatun min aAAnabin wazarAAun wanakheelun sinwanun waghayru sinwanin yusqa bimain wahidin wanufaddilu baAAdaha AAala baAAdin fee alokuli inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yaAAqiloona
And Look! There are separate regions on the earth, which are situated close to one another. There are gardens of grapes, green crops (fields), and date-palm trees some of them are single and some are double.  All are irrigated with the same water, but in taste WE make some of them good and some of them inferior. In all these things there are great Signs (Ayât) for those people who use their common sense.

وَإِن تَعْجَبْ فَعَجَبٌ قَوْلُهُمْ أَئِذَا كُنَّا تُرَابًا أَئِنَّا لَفِي خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ أُوْلَـئِكَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمْ وَأُوْلَئِكَ الأَغْلاَلُ فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ وَأُوْلَـئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدونَ

5.          Wain taAAjab faAAajabun qawluhum aitha kunna turaban ainna lafee khalqin jadeedin olaika allatheena kafaroo birabbihim waolaika alaghlalu fee aAAnaqihim waolaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona
Now if you have to wonder then wonder on the saying of those people who say that! "When we will die and become dust then will we be recreated from the beginning?"  These are those people who have committed infidelity (Kufr) with their Râbb.  These are those people in whose necks are the yokes.  They are the people of Hell-fire and will remain in it forever.

وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ قَبْلَ الْحَسَنَةِ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِمُ الْمَثُلاَتُ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغْفِرَةٍ لِّلنَّاسِ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَشَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ

6.          WayastaAAjiloonaka bialssayyiati qabla alhasanati waqad khalat min qablihimu almathulatu wainna rabbaka lathoo maghfiratin lilnnasi AAala thulmihim wainna rabbaka lashadeedu alAAiqabi
These people are asking to hasten the evil before the good -- whereas exemplary punishments (the wrath of Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) have taken place (on those people who have adopted this attitude) before them.  The fact is that your Râbb Forgives them despite the wrongdoing of those people, and it is also a fact that your Râbb is Severe in punishment.

وَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوْلآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِ إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مُنذِرٌ وَلِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ هَادٍ

7.          Wayaqoolu allatheena kafaroo lawla onzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi innama anta munthirun walikulli qawmin hadin
These people who have denied accepting your word, they say: "Why any sign has not been sent down to this person from his Râbb?"  You are only a warner, and there is a guide for every nation. (R) 7

اللّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَحْمِلُ كُلُّ أُنثَى وَمَا تَغِيضُ الأَرْحَامُ وَمَا تَزْدَادُ وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ عِندَهُ بِمِقْدَارٍ

8.          Allahu yaAAlamu ma tahmilu kullu ontha wama tagheedu alarhamu wama tazdadu wakullu shayin AAindahu bimiqdarin
Allâh knows what is in the womb of each and every pregnant female, HE also knows what is created in it and HE is well aware of decrease or increase that takes place in it.  For everything there is fixed measure with HIM.

عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ الْكَبِيرُ الْمُتَعَالِ

9.          AAalimu alghaybi waalshshahadati alkabeeru almutaAAali
HE is the Knower of all the unseen and the seen.  HE is the Most Respectable and is Exalted above everything in all circumstances.

سَوَاء مِّنكُم مَّنْ أَسَرَّ الْقَوْلَ وَمَن جَهَرَ بِهِ وَمَنْ هُوَ مُسْتَخْفٍ بِاللَّيْلِ وَسَارِبٌ بِالنَّهَارِ

10.        Sawaon minkum man asarra alqawla waman jahara bihi waman huwa mustakhfin biallayli wasaribun bialnnahari
Anyone among you whether speaks aloud or secretly, either anyone has been hidden in the darkness of the night or walking in the open daylight, for HIM all are the same.

لَهُ مُعَقِّبَاتٌ مِّن بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ يَحْفَظُونَهُ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللّهِ إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّى يُغَيِّرُواْ مَا بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ اللّهُ بِقَوْمٍ سُوءًا فَلاَ مَرَدَّ لَهُ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن دُونِهِ مِن وَالٍ

11.        Lahu muAAaqqibatun min bayni yadayhi wamin khalfihi yahfathoonahu min amri Allahi inna Allaha la yughayyiru ma biqawmin hatta yughayyiroo ma bianfusihim waitha arada Allahu biqawmin sooan fala maradda lahu wama lahum min doonihi min walin
There are HIS appointed watchers on the front and back of each person, who are watching him/her with the commandment of Allâh.  The fact is that Allâh does not change the condition of any nation until they themselves change their own merits or attributes.  And when Allâh decides to bring adversity to any nation then it cannot be averted by anyone, nor anyone could be helper of such nation against Allâh.

هُوَ الَّذِي يُرِيكُمُ الْبَرْقَ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَيُنْشِىءُ السَّحَابَ الثِّقَالَ

12.        Huwa allathee yureekumu albarqa khawfan watamaAAan wayunshio alssahaba alththiqala
HE is the One, WHO flashes the lights before you on seeing it you fill with fear and also have some hope in it.  HE is the One WHO raises the clouds full of water.

وَيُسَبِّحُ الرَّعْدُ بِحَمْدِهِ وَالْمَلاَئِكَةُ مِنْ خِيفَتِهِ وَيُرْسِلُ الصَّوَاعِقَ فَيُصِيبُ بِهَا مَن يَشَاء وَهُمْ يُجَادِلُونَ فِي اللّهِ وَهُوَ شَدِيدُ الْمِحَالِ

13.        Wayusabbihu alrraAAdu bihamdihi waalmalaikatu min kheefatihi wayursilu alssawaAAiqa fayuseebu biha man yashao wahum yujadiloona fee Allahi wahuwa shadeedu almihali
The thunder (Ar-Ra'd) of the clouds Glorifies HIM with HIS Praise and the angels Glorify HIM trembling with HIS Fear.  HE sends the thunderbolts and HE (quite often) drops it on whomever HE wants right at the moment when the people are disputing about Allâh.  In fact HIS Plans are very strong.

لَهُ دَعْوَةُ الْحَقِّ وَالَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ لاَ يَسْتَجِيبُونَ لَهُم بِشَيْءٍ إِلاَّ كَبَاسِطِ كَفَّيْهِ إِلَى الْمَاء لِيَبْلُغَ فَاهُ وَمَا هُوَ بِبَالِغِهِ وَمَا دُعَاء الْكَافِرِينَ إِلاَّ فِي ضَلاَلٍ

14.        Lahu daAAwatu alhaqqi waallatheena yadAAoona min doonihi la yastajeeboona lahum bishayin illa kabasiti kaffayhi ila almai liyablugha fahu wama huwa bibalighihi wama duAAao alkafireena illa fee dalalin
To call upon HIM is the Truth.  As regards to those deities, whom these people call except HIM, they cannot answer to their prayers.  Calling upon them is like as people stretches his/her hand toward water and requests it to reach his/her mouth, whereas water is not going to reach him/her.  Therefore likewise the prayers of infidels (Kafir) are nothing but an aimless effort!

وَلِلّهِ يَسْجُدُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ طَوْعًا وَكَرْهًا وَظِلالُهُم بِالْغُدُوِّ وَالآصَالِ(Al- Sajjdah).

15.        Walillahi yasjudu man fee alssamawati waalardi tawAAan wakarhan wathilaluhum bialghuduwwi waalasali
HE is Allâh before WHOM everything in the skies and the earth willingly or unwillingly is prostrating and the shadows of everything bow down before HIM morning and evening.

قُلْ مَن رَّبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ قُلِ اللّهُ قُلْ أَفَاتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاء لاَ يَمْلِكُونَ لِأَنفُسِهِمْ نَفْعًا وَلاَ ضَرًّا قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الأَعْمَى وَالْبَصِيرُ أَمْ هَلْ تَسْتَوِي الظُّلُمَاتُ وَالنُّورُ أَمْ جَعَلُواْ لِلّهِ شُرَكَاء خَلَقُواْ كَخَلْقِهِ فَتَشَابَهَ الْخَلْقُ عَلَيْهِمْ قُلِ اللّهُ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ

16.        Qul man rabbu alssamawati waalardi quli Allahu qul afaittakhathtum min doonihi awliyaa la yamlikoona lianfusihim nafAAan wala darran qul hal yastawee alaAAma waalbaseeru am hal tastawee alththulumatu waalnnooru am jaAAaloo lillahi shurakaa khalaqoo kakhalqihi fatashabaha alkhalqu AAalayhim quli Allahu khaliqu kulli shayin wahuwa alwahidu alqahharu
Ask them, who is the Râbb of skies and the earth? - Say, Allâh. Then again ask them that when this is the truth -- then except Allâh have you taken such deities (Auliyâ') who even do not have the power to benefit or harm themselves?  Say: "Can the blind and the person with sight be equal?  Is the light and the darkness equal?  And if it is not so then have their taken deities created anything like Allâh and for that reason the matter of creation has become dubious for them? -  Say: "Allâh Alone is the Creator of all things and HE is the One, Governing over everything!

أَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاء مَاء فَسَالَتْ أَوْدِيَةٌ بِقَدَرِهَا فَاحْتَمَلَ السَّيْلُ زَبَدًا رَّابِيًا وَمِمَّا يُوقِدُونَ عَلَيْهِ فِي النَّارِ ابْتِغَاء حِلْيَةٍ أَوْ مَتَاعٍ زَبَدٌ مِّثْلُهُ كَذَلِكَ يَضْرِبُ اللّهُ الْحَقَّ وَالْبَاطِلَ فَأَمَّا الزَّبَدُ فَيَذْهَبُ جُفَاء وَأَمَّا مَا يَنفَعُ النَّاسَ فَيَمْكُثُ فِي الأَرْضِ كَذَلِكَ يَضْرِبُ اللّهُ الأَمْثَالَ

17.        Anzala mina alssamai maan fasalat awdiyatun biqadariha faihtamala alssaylu zabadan rabiyan wamimma yooqidoona AAalayhi fee alnnari ibtighaa hilyatin aw mataAAin zabadun mithluhu kathalika yadribu Allahu alhaqqa waalbatila faamma alzzabadu fayathhabu jufaan waamma ma yanfaAAu alnnasa fayamkuthu fee alardi kathalika yadribu Allahu alamthala
Allâh sent down water from the sky and every channel/canal carried it according to its measure.  And when the flood raised then the foam also came on the surface.  And the same kind of foam comes on those metals which people melt to make the ornaments and utensils.  By the same example Allâh clarifies the matter of truth and falsehood.  The foam evaporates and that which is beneficial for the mankind remains on the earth.  In this way Allâh clarifies HIS Message with examples.

لِلَّذِينَ اسْتَجَابُواْ لِرَبِّهِمُ الْحُسْنَى وَالَّذِينَ لَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُواْ لَهُ لَوْ أَنَّ لَهُم مَّا فِي الأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا وَمِثْلَهُ مَعَهُ لاَفْتَدَوْاْ بِهِ أُوْلَـئِكَ لَهُمْ سُوءُ الْحِسَابِ وَمَأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ

18.        Lillatheena istajaboo lirabbihimu alhusna waallatheena lam yastajeeboo lahu law anna lahum ma fee alardi jameeAAan wamithlahu maAAahu laiftadaw bihi olaika lahum sooo alhisabi wamawahum jahannamu wabisa almihadu
Those people who accepted the invitation of their Râbb there is a good for them, and those who did not accept it and even if they have all the wealth of earth and could get that much more -- they will be ready to give all that to be saved from the punishment of Allâh.  These are those people from whom severe accountability will be taken and their destination is Hell-fire, it is the worst place to rest. (R) 8

أَفَمَن يَعْلَمُ أَنَّمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَبِّكَ الْحَقُّ كَمَنْ هُوَ أَعْمَى إِنَّمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ أُوْلُواْ الأَلْبَابِ

19.        Afaman yaAAlamu annama onzila ilayka min rabbika alhaqqu kaman huwa aAAma innama yatathakkaru oloo alalbabi
How is it possible that a person -- who considers that this Book of your Râbb, which HE has revealed to you is the truth, and a person who is blind from this truth, both could be equal?  Only the wise people accept the advice.

الَّذِينَ يُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللّهِ وَلاَ يِنقُضُونَ الْمِيثَاقَ

20.        Allatheena yoofoona biAAahdi Allahi wala yanqudoona almeethaqa
And their behavior is such that they fulfill their promises with Allâh (they) do not break after confirming (Mîthâq) it.

وَالَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ مَا أَمَرَ اللّهُ بِهِ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ وَيَخَافُونَ سُوءَ الحِسَابِ

21.        Waallatheena yasiloona ma amara Allahu bihi an yoosala wayakhshawna rabbahum wayakhafoona sooa alhisabi
Their behavior is such that they establish those relations that Allâh has commanded to establish; they fear their Râbb and fear that they shall not be called for the terrible reckoning.

وَالَّذِينَ صَبَرُواْ ابْتِغَاء وَجْهِ رَبِّهِمْ وَأَقَامُواْ الصَّلاَةَ وَأَنفَقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ سِرًّا وَعَلاَنِيَةً وَيَدْرَؤُونَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ السَّيِّئَةَ أُوْلَئِكَ لَهُمْ عُقْبَى الدَّارِ

22.        Waallatheena sabaroo ibtighaa wajhi rabbihim waaqamoo alssalata waanfaqoo mimma razaqnahum sirran waAAalaniyatan wayadraoona bialhasanati alssayyiata olaika lahum AAuqba alddari
Their condition is such that they remain patient to seek the consent of their Râbb, establish prayer (As-Salât), they spend openly and secretly out of those provisions which WE have given to them, and repel evil with good.  The house of hereafter is for these people.

جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ يَدْخُلُونَهَا وَمَنْ صَلَحَ مِنْ آبَائِهِمْ وَأَزْوَاجِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّاتِهِمْ وَالمَلاَئِكَةُ يَدْخُلُونَ عَلَيْهِم مِّن كُلِّ بَابٍ

23.        Jannatu AAadnin yadkhuloonaha waman salaha min abaihim waazwajihim wathurriyyatihim waalmalaikatu yadkhuloona AAalayhim min kulli babin
(It) Mean such Gardens ('Adn), which will be their eternal living place.  They themselves will enter in it and their forefathers and their wives and from among their children who are pious they will also accompany them in it.  The angels will come from all directions to welcome them.

سَلاَمٌ عَلَيْكُم بِمَا صَبَرْتُمْ فَنِعْمَ عُقْبَى الدَّارِ

24.        Salamun AAalaykum bima sabartum faniAAma AAuqba alddari
And will say to them "peace be (Salâmun 'Alaikum) on you, the way you showed patience in the world because of that you deserve all this today"- Therefore what a beautiful home is of the Hereafter!

وَالَّذِينَ يَنقُضُونَ عَهْدَ اللّهِ مِن بَعْدِ مِيثَاقِهِ وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ اللّهُ بِهِ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُونَ فِي الأَرْضِ أُوْلَئِكَ لَهُمُ اللَّعْنَةُ وَلَهُمْ سُوءُ الدَّارِ

25.        Waallatheena yanqudoona AAahda Allahi min baAAdi meethaqihi wayaqtaAAoona ma amara Allahu bihi an yoosala wayufsidoona fee alardi olaika lahumu allaAAnatu walahum sooo alddari
As for those people who break the Covenant of Allâh after confirming it, those who cut-off those relations which Allâh has commanded to unite, and those who spread mischief in the land, they deserve the curse and there is a worst destination for them in the Hereafter.

اللّهُ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاء وَيَقَدِرُ وَفَرِحُواْ بِالْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا فِي الآخِرَةِ إِلاَّ مَتَاعٌ

26.        Allahu yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao wayaqdiru wafarihoo bialhayati alddunya wama alhayatu alddunya fee alakhirati illa mataAAun
Allâh gives affluence in provisions to whom HE wills and gives measured provisions to whom HE wills.  These people are engrossed in this worldly life, whereas the worldly life is insignificant as compare to the Hereafter. (R) 9

وَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوْلاَ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِ قُلْ إِنَّ اللّهَ يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَاء وَيَهْدِي إِلَيْهِ مَنْ أَنَابَ

27.        Wayaqoolu allatheena kafaroo lawla onzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi qul inna Allaha yudillu man yashao wayahdee ilayhi man anaba
Those people who have denied (accepting the Prophethood of Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, they) ask: "Why any sign has not been sent to him from his Râbb?"- Say: "Allâh sends astray whom HE wills and HE guides to HIMSELF only the one who turns to HIM."

الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَتَطْمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكْرِ اللّهِ أَلاَ بِذِكْرِ اللّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ

28.        Allatheena amanoo watatmainnu quloobuhum bithikri Allahi ala bithikri Allahi tatmainnu alquloobu
Such are those people who have accepted (the message of Prophet, Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and their hearts achieved satisfaction with the remembrance of Allâh.  Beware! The remembrance of Allâh is the only thing that gives satisfaction to the hearts.

الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ الصَّالِحَاتِ طُوبَى لَهُمْ وَحُسْنُ مَآبٍ

29.        Allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati tooba lahum wahusnu maabin
Then they are the blessed ones who have accepted the message of truth and did good deeds, and there is good end for them.

كَذَلِكَ أَرْسَلْنَاكَ فِي أُمَّةٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهَا أُمَمٌ لِّتَتْلُوَ عَلَيْهِمُ الَّذِيَ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ وَهُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ بِالرَّحْمَـنِ قُلْ هُوَ رَبِّي لا إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ مَتَابِ

30.        Kathalika arsalnaka fee ommatin qad khalat min qabliha omamun litatluwa AAalayhimu allathee awhayna ilayka wahum yakfuroona bialrrahmani qul huwa rabbee la ilaha illa huwa AAalayhi tawakkaltu wailayhi matabi
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), with the same glory WE have sent you as a Rasool among such a nation before whom many other nations have passed away, so that you should recite to them that message that WE have revealed to you in a situation while they have become infidels (Kafir) of their Most Loving Allâh.  Tell them: "HE is my Râbb, there is no deity except HIM (Lâ ilâha illâ Huwa), I have trust in HIM and HE is my only and sole source."

وَلَوْ أَنَّ قُرْآنًا سُيِّرَتْ بِهِ الْجِبَالُ أَوْ قُطِّعَتْ بِهِ الأَرْضُ أَوْ كُلِّمَ بِهِ الْمَوْتَى بَل لِّلّهِ الأَمْرُ جَمِيعًا أَفَلَمْ يَيْأَسِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ أَن لَّوْ يَشَاء اللّهُ لَهَدَى النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا وَلاَ يَزَالُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ تُصِيبُهُم بِمَا صَنَعُواْ قَارِعَةٌ أَوْ تَحُلُّ قَرِيبًا مِّن دَارِهِمْ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ وَعْدُ اللّهِ إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ

31.        Walaw anna quranan suyyirat bihi aljibalu aw quttiAAat bihi alardu aw kullima bihi almawta bal lillahi alamru jameeAAan afalam yayasi allatheena amanoo an law yashao Allahu lahada alnnasa jameeAAan wala yazalu allatheena kafaroo tuseebuhum bima sanaAAoo qariAAatun aw tahullu qareeban min darihim hatta yatiya waAAdu Allahi inna Allaha la yukhlifu almeeAAada
And what would have happened if such Qur'ân have been sent down with its power -- the mountains be made to move, or the earth be made to split, or the dead start speaking coming out from their graves?  (To show such types of signs is not a difficult task) But all the authority is in the Hands of Allâh.  Then the people with Faith (are still waiting for a sign to answer the demand of infidels and knowing this) have not given up hope that if Allâh Wanted then could have given Guidance to the entire mankind?  Those people who have adopted the attitude of infidelity with Allâh a disaster keep coming on them because of their misdeeds, or it comes some where near to their homes.  This thing will continue until the Promise of Allâh is fulfilled.  Certainly, Allâh does not go against HIS Promise. (R) 10

وَلَقَدِ اسْتُهْزِىءَ بِرُسُلٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَأَمْلَيْتُ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهُمْ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عِقَابِ

32.        Walaqadi istuhzia birusulin min qablika faamlaytu lillatheena kafaroo thumma akhathtuhum fakayfa kana AAiqabi
Many Rasools have been mocked before you but I always granted respite to the unbelievers and finally seized them, then see how terrible MY Punishment was!

أَفَمَنْ هُوَ قَآئِمٌ عَلَى كُلِّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ وَجَعَلُواْ لِلّهِ شُرَكَاء قُلْ سَمُّوهُمْ أَمْ تُنَبِّئُونَهُ بِمَا لاَ يَعْلَمُ فِي الأَرْضِ أَم بِظَاهِرٍ مِّنَ الْقَوْلِ بَلْ زُيِّنَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مَكْرُهُمْ وَصُدُّواْ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ اللّهُ فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ هَادٍ

33.        Afaman huwa qaimun AAala kulli nafsin bima kasabat wajaAAaloo lillahi shurakaa qul sammoohum am tunabbioonahu bima la yaAAlamu fee alardi am bithahirin mina alqawli bal zuyyina lillatheena kafaroo makruhum wasuddoo AAani alssabeeli waman yudlili Allahu fama lahu min hadin
Then what; the One WHO watches the deeds of each and every soul (such boldness has been done against HIM that) the people have ascribed some partners to HIM.  O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) ask them: "(If Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala, HIMSELF has taken them as partners) Then just utter their names who are they?- Are you informing Allâh of something new that HE does not know in HIS earth? Or you people just say whatever comes in your mouth."  The Truth is that those people who have denied to accept the message of the Truth -- their misdeeds have been made pleasing for them and they have been stopped from the Right Path, then whomever Allâh throws in the darkness no one can show him/her the (straight) path.

لَّهُمْ عَذَابٌ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَلَعَذَابُ الآخِرَةِ أَشَقُّ وَمَا لَهُم مِّنَ اللّهِ مِن وَاقٍ

34.        Lahum AAathabun fee alhayati alddunya walaAAathabu alakhirati ashaqqu wama lahum mina Allahi min waqin
For such people there is suffering in this worldly life, and the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe than that.  There is no one who can protect them from Allâh.

مَّثَلُ الْجَنَّةِ الَّتِي وُعِدَ الْمُتَّقُونَ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ أُكُلُهَا دَآئِمٌ وِظِلُّهَا تِلْكَ عُقْبَى الَّذِينَ اتَّقَواْ وَّعُقْبَى الْكَافِرِينَ النَّارُ

35.        Mathalu aljannati allatee wuAAida almuttaqoona tajree min tahtiha alanharu okuluha daimun wathilluha tilka AAuqba allatheena ittaqaw waAAuqba alkafireena alnnaru
The Paradise that has been promised to the pious people (Muttaqûn), its glory is that canals are flowing underneath it, its fruits are eternal and its shadow is infinite. This is the destination of the pious people (the Muttaqûn).  And the destination of the deniers of the truth is the Hell-fire.

وَالَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمِنَ الأَحْزَابِ مَن يُنكِرُ بَعْضَهُ قُلْ إِنَّمَا أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ اللّهَ وَلا أُشْرِكَ بِهِ إِلَيْهِ أَدْعُو وَإِلَيْهِ مَآبِ

36.        Waallatheena ataynahumu alkitaba yafrahoona bima onzila ilayka wamina alahzabi man yunkiru baAAdahu qul innama omirtu an aAAbuda Allaha wala oshrika bihi ilayhi adAAoo wailayhi maabi
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), those people whom WE had given the Book before -- they are happy from this Book, which WE have revealed to you, and there are some such people among different groups who do not accept its a few things.  You say it clearly: "I have been commanded only to Serve Allâh (do Bandagi) and have been forbidden from it to associate anyone as a partner to HIM, therefore I invite to HIM and towards HIM is my inclination."

وَكَذَلِكَ أَنزَلْنَاهُ حُكْمًا عَرَبِيًّا وَلَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَاءهُم بَعْدَ مَا جَاءكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ اللّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلاَ وَاقٍ

37.        Wakathalika anzalnahu hukman AAarabiyyan walaini ittabaAAta ahwaahum baAAda ma jaaka mina alAAilmi ma laka mina Allahi min waliyyin wala waqin
With the same guidance WE have revealed this Arabic Commandment (Al-Qur'ân) to you.  Now after this knowledge that has come to you -- if you follow the desires of the people then there is no one to protect and help you against Allâh and none can save you from HIS grip. (R) 11

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلاً مِّن قَبْلِكَ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ أَزْوَاجًا وَذُرِّيَّةً وَمَا كَانَ لِرَسُولٍ أَن يَأْتِيَ بِآيَةٍ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِ اللّهِ لِكُلِّ أَجَلٍ كِتَابٌ

38.        Walaqad arsalna rusulan min qablika wajaAAalna lahum azwajan wathurriyyatan wama kana lirasoolin an yatiya biayatin illa biithni Allahi likulli ajalin kitabun
WE have also sent many Rasools before you and WE made them with wives and children.  And it was not in the power of any Rasool to bring any sign without the Leave of Allâh.  There is a Book for each period.

يَمْحُو اللّهُ مَا يَشَاء وَيُثْبِتُ وَعِندَهُ أُمُّ الْكِتَابِ

39.        Yamhoo Allahu ma yashao wayuthbitu waAAindahu ommu alkitabi
Allâh nullifies whatever HE Wills and establishes whatever HE Wills, the Mother of the Books (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz) is with HIM.

وَإِن مَّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ الَّذِي نَعِدُهُمْ أَوْ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ الْبَلاَغُ وَعَلَيْنَا الْحِسَابُ

40.        Wain ma nuriyannaka baAAda allathee naAAiduhum aw natawaffayannaka fainnama AAalayka albalaghu waAAalayna alhisabu
And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), from the bad end of which WE are threatening these people whether WE show a part of it in your life time or WE call you back before its happing, anyhow your duty is only to convey the message and it is for US to settle the accounts.

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْاْ أَنَّا نَأْتِي الأَرْضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَا وَاللّهُ يَحْكُمُ لاَ مُعَقِّبَ لِحُكْمِهِ وَهُوَ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ

41.        Awa lam yaraw anna natee alarda nanqusuha min atrafiha waAllahu yahkumu la muAAaqqiba lihukmihi wahuwa sareeAAu alhisabi
Do these people not see that WE are coming on this earth and are gradually reducing its circle from all sides?  Allâh is Ruling, there is none who can review/revise HIS decisions and HE is Swift in settling accounts

وَقَدْ مَكَرَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَلِلّهِ الْمَكْرُ جَمِيعًا يَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْسِبُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ وَسَيَعْلَمُ الْكُفَّارُ لِمَنْ عُقْبَى الدَّارِ

42.       Waqad makara allatheena min qablihim falillahi almakru jameeAAan yaAAlamu ma taksibu kullu nafsin wasayaAAlamu alkuffaru liman AAuqba alddari
Those people who have passed before them they also have devised great plots, but the ultimate decisive plan is in the Hands of Allâh Alone.  HE knows who is earning what, and soon these deniers of truth will see that whose end is beautiful.

وَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَسْتَ مُرْسَلاً قُلْ كَفَى بِاللّهِ شَهِيدًا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ وَمَنْ عِندَهُ عِلْمُ الْكِتَابِ

43.       Wayaqoolu allatheena kafaroo lasta mursalan qul kafa biAllahi shaheedan baynee wabaynakum waman AAindahu AAilmu alkitabi
These deniers (of truth) say that you are not sent by Allâh.  Say: "The Witness of Allâh is sufficient between me and you and then the witness of that person who has the knowledge of the heavenly Book. (R) 12

 “Ibrahîm” – (Makki - 14^th Surah)

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ          

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

الَر كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ لِتُخْرِجَ النَّاسَ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَى صِرَاطِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ

1.         Alif-Lâm-Râ kitabun anzalnahu ilayka litukhrija alnnasa mina alththulumati ila alnnoori biithni rabbihim ila sirati alAAazeezi alhameedi
(Alif-Lâm-Râ -- Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala, Alone knows its meanings).  O Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, this is a Book which WE have revealed to you so that you bring the people out of darkness to the light, with the Leave of their Râbb, towards the path of that Allâh WHO is Most Powerful and is All Praise Worthy by HIMSELF

اللّهِ الَّذِي لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ وَوَيْلٌ لِّلْكَافِرِينَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ

2.         Allahi allathee lahu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi wawaylun lilkafireena min AAathabin shadeedin
And the Owner of all that which is on the earth and in the skies.  And there is a severe destructive punishment for those who deny to accept the Truth

الَّذِينَ يَسْتَحِبُّونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا عَلَى الآخِرَةِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا أُوْلَـئِكَ فِي ضَلاَلٍ بَعِيدٍ

3.         Allatheena yastahibboona alhayata alddunya AAala alakhirati wayasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi wayabghoonaha AAiwajan olaika fee dalalin baAAeedin
(Those) Who prefer this worldly life more than the Hereafter, who are stopping the people from the Path of Allâh and want that this path should be distorted (according to their wishes). These people are gone far astray in error.

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلاَّ بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهِ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمْ فَيُضِلُّ اللّهُ مَن يَشَاء وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاء وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ

4.         Wama arsalna min rasoolin illa bilisani qawmihi liyubayyina lahum fayudillu Allahu man yashao wayahdee man yashao wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu
Whenever WE sent any Rasool to deliver OUR message, he has delivered the message in the language of his own people so that he explains it to them clearly in detail.  Then Allâh misleads whom HE Wills and guides whom HE Wills, HE is All-Mighty and All-Wise.

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَى بِآيَاتِنَا أَنْ أَخْرِجْ قَوْمَكَ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ وَذَكِّرْهُمْ بِأَيَّامِ اللّهِ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَاتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ

5.          Walaqad arsalna moosa biayatina an akhrij qawmaka mina alththulumati ila alnnoori wathakkirhum biayyami Allahi inna fee thalika laayatin likulli sabbarin shakoorin
WE have also sent Mûsa with OUR Signs (Ayât) before it.  WE had also commanded him to bring his nation out of darkness into the light and advise them by telling the lesson-taking events of the Divine's History.  There are great signs in these events for every such person who is patient and thankful.

وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ اذْكُرُواْ نِعْمَةَ اللّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ أَنجَاكُم مِّنْ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ وَيُذَبِّحُونَ أَبْنَاءكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَاءكُمْ وَفِي ذَلِكُم بَلاء مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌ

6.          Waith qala moosa liqawmihi othkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum ith anjakum min ali firAAawna yasoomoonakum sooa alAAathabi wayuthabbihoona abnaakum wayastahyoona nisaakum wafee thalikum balaon min rabbikum AAatheemun
Recall when Mûsa said to his nation: "Remember the Favor of Allâh that HE has done to you.  HE delivered you from Fir'aun's people who used to afflict you with horrible torment, used to kill your sons and let your daughters to live, in it there was a hard trial for you from your Râbb." (R) 13

وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ وَلَئِن كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِي لَشَدِيدٌ

7.          Waith taaththana rabbukum lain shakartum laazeedannakum walain kafartum inna AAathabee lashadeedun
And remember, your Râbb had warned that if you will be thankful then I will give you more and if you will reject the blessings then MY punishment is very severe.

وَقَالَ مُوسَى إِن تَكْفُرُواْ أَنتُمْ وَمَن فِي الأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا فَإِنَّ اللّهَ لَغَنِيٌّ حَمِيدٌ

8.          Waqala moosa in takfuroo antum waman fee alardi jameeAAan fainna Allaha laghaniyyun hameedun
And Mûsa said: "If you commit infidelity (Kufr) and all the dwellers of this earth also become infidels (Kafir) even then Allâh is Self-Sufficient and All Praise Worthy by HIMSELF."

أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَبَأُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَعَادٍ وَثَمُودَ وَالَّذِينَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُهُمْ إِلاَّ اللّهُ جَاءتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَرَدُّواْ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فِي أَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَقَالُواْ إِنَّا كَفَرْنَا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِ وَإِنَّا لَفِي شَكٍّ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَنَا إِلَيْهِ مُرِيبٍ

9.          Alam yatikum nabao allatheena min qablikum qawmi noohin waAAadin wathamooda waallatheena min baAAdihim la yaAAlamuhum illa Allahu jaathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati faraddoo aydiyahum fee afwahihim waqaloo inna kafarna bima orsiltum bihi wainna lafee shakkin mimma tadAAoonana ilayhi mureebun
Have the stories of those nations not reached you who have passed away before you?  The nation of Nûh, 'Ad and Thamûd and many other nations which came after them, whose count is with Allâh?  When their Rasools came to them with clear proofs and open signs, they put their hands in their mouths (biting them with anger) and said: "We do not accept that message with which you have been sent and we are in serious doubt about that towards which you invite us."

قَالَتْ رُسُلُهُمْ أَفِي اللّهِ شَكٌّ فَاطِرِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ يَدْعُوكُمْ لِيَغْفِرَ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرَكُمْ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُّسَـمًّى قَالُواْ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلاَّ بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا تُرِيدُونَ أَن تَصُدُّونَا عَمَّا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ آبَآؤُنَا فَأْتُونَا بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ

10.        Qalat rusuluhum afee Allahi shakkun fatiri alssamawati waalardi yadAAookum liyaghfira lakum min thunoobikum wayuakhkhirakum ila ajalin musamman qaloo in antum illa basharun mithluna tureedoona an tasuddoona AAamma kana yaAAbudu abaona fatoona bisultanin mubeenin
Their Rasools said: "Do you have doubt about Allâh WHO is the Creator of the skies and the earth?  HE is inviting you so that HE may forgive your sins and give you respite for an appointed term."  They responded: "You are no more than human being like us.  You want to stop us from the worship of those deities (Ilâhan--personalities) whose worship has been done since our forefathers. Well then bring some clear proof."

قَالَتْ لَهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ إِن نَّحْنُ إِلاَّ بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ وَلَـكِنَّ اللّهَ يَمُنُّ عَلَى مَن يَشَاء مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا أَن نَّأْتِيَكُم بِسُلْطَانٍ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِ اللّهِ وَعلَى اللّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ

11.        Qalat lahum rusuluhum in nahnu illa basharun mithlukum walakinna Allaha yamunnu AAala man yashao min AAibadihi wama kana lana an natiyakum bisultanin illa biithni Allahi waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almuminoona
Their Rasools said to them: "In fact we are no more than human being like you.  But Allâh blesses among HIS servants whom HE Wants and it is not in our power to bring any proof to you.  The proof can only come with the Permission of Allâh and the people with Faith should Trust in Allâh Alone.

وَمَا لَنَا أَلاَّ نَتَوَكَّلَ عَلَى اللّهِ وَقَدْ هَدَانَا سُبُلَنَا وَلَنَصْبِرَنَّ عَلَى مَا آذَيْتُمُونَا وَعَلَى اللّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ

12.        Wama lana alla natawakkala AAala Allahi waqad hadana subulana walanasbiranna AAala ma athaytumoona waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almutawakkiloona
And why should we not put our trust in Allâh when HE has guided us in the ways of our lives?  We will remain patient in the tortures you people are giving us and for those who want to put their trust should Trust in Allâh Alone." (R) 14

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِرُسُلِهِمْ لَنُخْرِجَنَّـكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِنَآ أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِي مِلَّتِنَا فَأَوْحَى إِلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ لَنُهْلِكَنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ

13.        Waqala allatheena kafaroo lirusulihim lanukhrijannakum min ardina aw lataAAoodunna fee millatina faawha ilayhim rabbuhum lanuhlikanna alththalimeena
Finally the unbelievers said to their Rasools: "Either you have to come back to our Faith otherwise we shall expel you from our land."  Then their Râbb sent Revelation towards them that: "WE will destroy these wrongdoers (Zâlimûn).

وَلَنُسْكِنَنَّـكُمُ الأَرْضَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامِي وَخَافَ وَعِيدِ

14.        Walanuskinannakumu alarda min baAAdihim thalika liman khafa maqamee wakhafa waAAeedi
And (WE) shall settle you in the land after them. This is a reward for him/her who fears MY accountability and fears MY warning."

وَاسْتَفْتَحُواْ وَخَابَ كُلُّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ

15.        Waistaftahoo wakhaba kullu jabbarin AAaneedin
They wanted a judgment (this is how the matter was decided for them) and every oppressor the enemy of truth was defeated,

مِّن وَرَآئِهِ جَهَنَّمُ وَيُسْقَى مِن مَّاء صَدِيدٍ

16.        Min waraihi jahannamu wayusqa min main sadeedin
Then after this there is Hell-fire in front of him/her.  There he/she will be given impure blood (to drink) like water

يَتَجَرَّعُهُ وَلاَ يَكَادُ يُسِيغُهُ وَيَأْتِيهِ الْمَوْتُ مِن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ وَمَا هُوَ بِمَيِّتٍ وَمِن وَرَآئِهِ عَذَابٌ غَلِيظٌ

17.        YatajarraAAuhu wala yakadu yuseeghuhu wayateehi almawtu min kulli makanin wama huwa bimayyitin wamin waraihi AAathabun ghaleethun
Which he/she will try to drink unwillingly and will be able to drink it with great difficulty.  The death will be prevailing on him/her from all sides but he/she will not die and further more there will be a great torment for him/her.

مَّثَلُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ كَرَمَادٍ اشْتَدَّتْ بِهِ الرِّيحُ فِي يَوْمٍ عَاصِفٍ لاَّ يَقْدِرُونَ مِمَّا كَسَبُواْ عَلَى شَيْءٍ ذَلِكَ هُوَ الضَّلاَلُ الْبَعِيدُ

18.        Mathalu allatheena kafaroo birabbihim aAAmaluhum karamadin ishtaddat bihi alrreehu fee yawmin AAasifin la yaqdiroona mimma kasaboo AAala shayin thalika huwa alddalalu albaAAeedu
Those people who have committed infidelity (Kufr) with their Râbb the example of their deeds is like such ash that has been blown out by the furious wind of a stormy day.  They will not be able to get any reward for their deeds.  This is the worst kind of going astray.

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللّهَ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ بِالْحقِّ إِن يَشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ وَيَأْتِ بِخَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ

19.        Alam tara anna Allaha khalaqa alssamawati waalarda bialhaqqi in yasha yuthhibkum wayati bikhalqin jadeedin
Do you not see that Allâh has instituted the creation of the skies and the earth on truth?  If HE wants then takes you people away and brings new creation at your place.

وَمَا ذَلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ بِعَزِيزٍ

20.        Wama thalika AAala Allahi biAAazeezin
To do so is not difficult for HIM at all.

وَبَرَزُواْ لِلّهِ جَمِيعًا فَقَالَ الضُّعَفَاء لِلَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُواْ إِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعًا فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّغْنُونَ عَنَّا مِنْ عَذَابِ اللّهِ مِن شَيْءٍ قَالُواْ لَوْ هَدَانَا اللّهُ لَهَدَيْنَاكُمْ سَوَاء عَلَيْنَآ أَجَزِعْنَا أَمْ صَبَرْنَا مَا لَنَا مِن مَّحِيصٍ

21.        Wabarazoo lillahi jameeAAan faqala aldduAAafao lillatheena istakbaroo inna kunna lakum tabaAAan fahal antum mughnoona AAanna min AAathabi Allahi min shayin qaloo law hadana Allahu lahadaynakum sawaon AAalayna ajaziAAna am sabarna ma lana min maheesin
And when these people will be exposed altogether before Allâh then at that time those who were weak in this world will say to those people who thought themselves powerful, "We were your subordinate in the world, now can you do anything to save us from the punishment of Allâh?"  They will reply: "If Allâh has shown us any way out we could have surely shown you.  Now it is the same whether we complain or bear it with patience, any how there is no escape for us." (R) 15

وَقَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ لَمَّا قُضِيَ الأَمْرُ إِنَّ اللّهَ وَعَدَكُمْ وَعْدَ الْحَقِّ وَوَعَدتُّكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُكُمْ وَمَا كَانَ لِيَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَانٍ إِلاَّ أَن دَعَوْتُكُمْ فَاسْتَجَبْتُمْ لِي فَلاَ تَلُومُونِي وَلُومُواْ أَنفُسَكُم مَّا أَنَاْ بِمُصْرِخِكُمْ وَمَا أَنتُمْ بِمُصْرِخِيَّ إِنِّي كَفَرْتُ بِمَآ أَشْرَكْتُمُونِ مِن قَبْلُ إِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

22.        Waqala alshshaytanu lamma qudiya alamru inna Allaha waAAadakum waAAda alhaqqi wawaAAadtukum faakhlaftukum wama kana liya AAalaykum min sultanin illa an daAAawtukum faistajabtum lee fala taloomoonee waloomoo anfusakum ma ana bimusrikhikum wama antum bimusrikhiyya innee kafartu bima ashraktumooni min qablu inna alththalimeena lahum AAathabun aleemun
And when the matter will be settled then Shaitân will say: "The truth is that whatever promises Allâh had made with you those all were true and whatever promises I made with you -- I did not fulfill any of it.  I had no power over you, I did nothing except to invite you toward my path and you accepted my invitation. Now do not blame me, blame only yourselves. Here neither I can relief your complaint nor can you do any help to me. Before this you had taken me as partner with Allâh I am free of responsibility, surely there is a severe punishment for such wrongdoers (Zâlimûn). "

وَأُدْخِلَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ الصَّالِحَاتِ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ تَحِيَّتُهُمْ فِيهَا سَلاَمٌ

23.        Waodkhila allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha biithni rabbihim tahiyyatuhum feeha salamun
Contrary to this those people who have brought Faith in the world and did righteous deeds they will be made to enter in such Gardens underneath which canals will be flowing.  There they will live forever with the permission of their Râbb, and there they will be welcomed with the greetings of peace (Salâm).

أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ ضَرَبَ اللّهُ مَثَلاً كَلِمَةً طَيِّبَةً كَشَجَرةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ أَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٌ وَفَرْعُهَا فِي السَّمَاء

24.        Alam tara kayfa daraba Allahu mathalan kalimatan tayyibatan kashajaratin tayyibatin asluha thabitun wafarAAuha fee alssamai
Do you not see that with what Allâh has related the good word?  Its example is like a good nature tree whose roots are firmly fixed in the earth and its branches have reached to the sky,

تُؤْتِي أُكُلَهَا كُلَّ حِينٍ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهَا وَيَضْرِبُ اللّهُ الأَمْثَالَ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ

25.        Tutee okulaha kulla heenin biithni rabbiha wayadribu Allahu alamthala lilnnasi laAAallahum yatathakkaroona
It is yielding its fruits every moment by the Leave of its Râbb.  Allâh gives these examples so that people should seek lesson from them.

وَمَثلُ كَلِمَةٍ خَبِيثَةٍ كَشَجَرَةٍ خَبِيثَةٍ اجْتُثَّتْ مِن فَوْقِ الأَرْضِ مَا لَهَا مِن قَرَارٍ

26.        Wamathalu kalimatin khabeethatin kashajaratin khabeethatin ijtuththat min fawqi alardi ma laha min qararin
And the example of evil word is like an evil type tree that is uprooted from the surface of earth, there is no stability for it.

يُثَبِّتُ اللّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الآخِرَةِ وَيُضِلُّ اللّهُ الظَّالِمِينَ وَيَفْعَلُ اللّهُ مَا يَشَاء

27.        Yuthabbitu Allahu allatheena amanoo bialqawli alththabiti fee alhayati alddunya wafee alakhirati wayudillu Allahu alththalimeena wayafAAalu Allahu ma yashao
On the bases of true promise Allâh gives firmness in both, this world as well as in hereafter to those who bring Faith, and Allâh sends astray the wrongdoers (Zâlimûn).  Allâh has all the power to do whatever HE wants to do. (R) 16

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ بَدَّلُواْ نِعْمَةَ اللّهِ كُفْرًا وَأَحَلُّواْ قَوْمَهُمْ دَارَ الْبَوَارِ

28.        Alam tara ila allatheena baddaloo niAAmata Allahi kufran waahalloo qawmahum dara albawari
You saw those people who got the Blessing of Allâh and changed it with ingratitude and (with them) caused their people to dwell in the house of destruction-

جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا وَبِئْسَ الْقَرَارُ

29.        Jahannama yaslawnaha wabisa alqararu
(It) Means Hell, in which they will be burned and it is very bad place to live-

وَجَعَلُواْ لِلّهِ أَندَادًا لِّيُضِلُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِهِ قُلْ تَمَتَّعُواْ فَإِنَّ مَصِيرَكُمْ إِلَى النَّارِ

30.        WajaAAaloo lillahi andadan liyudilloo AAan sabeelihi qul tamattaAAoo fainna maseerakum ila alnnari
And they set-up some companions with Allâh so that they should mislead them from the Path of Allâh?  Tell them: "Well enjoy! Eventually you have to go to Hell.

قُل لِّعِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ يُقِيمُواْ الصَّلاَةَ وَيُنفِقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ سِرًّا وَعَلانِيَةً مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَ يَوْمٌ لاَّ بَيْعٌ فِيهِ وَلاَ خِلاَلٌ

31.        Qul liAAibadiya allatheena amanoo yuqeemoo alssalata wayunfiqoo mimma razaqnahum sirran waAAalaniyatan min qabli an yatiya yawmun la bayAAun feehi wala khilalun
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), MY those servants ('Ibâdî) who have brought Faith tell them to establish prayer (Salât) and whatever WE have given to them (they) should spend from it (in charity) openly and secretly before the coming of that Day in which there will be neither any trading and nor any friendship could be beneficial.

اللّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاء مَاء فَأَخْرَجَ بِهِ مِنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ رِزْقًا لَّكُمْ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ الْفُلْكَ لِتَجْرِيَ فِي الْبَحْرِ بِأَمْرِهِ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ الأَنْهَارَ

32.        Allahu allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda waanzala mina alssamai maan faakhraja bihi mina alththamarati rizqan lakum wasakhkhara lakumu alfulka litajriya fee albahri biamrihi wasakhkhara lakumu alanhara
Allâh is the One WHO created the earth and the skies and sent down water (rain) from the sky, then grew different kinds of fruits from it -- for your provisions (of life).  WHO subdued the boat for you to sail in the sea by HIS Command and subdued the rivers for you.

وَسَخَّر لَكُمُ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ دَآئِبَينَ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ

33.        Wasakhkhara lakumu alshshamsa waalqamara daibayni wasakhkhara lakumu allayla waalnnahara
WHO softened the sun and the moon for you that they are constantly pursuing their courses and softened the night and the day for you.

وَآتَاكُم مِّن كُلِّ مَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُ وَإِن تَعُدُّواْ نِعْمَتَ اللّهِ لاَ تُحْصُوهَا إِنَّ الإِنسَانَ لَظَلُومٌ كَفَّارٌ

34.        Waatakum min kulli ma saaltumoohu wain taAAuddoo niAAmata Allahi la tuhsooha inna alinsana lathaloomun kaffarun
WHO has given you all that whatever you asked for.  If you want to count the Blessings of Allâh you cannot do so.  The fact is that human is very unjust and ungrateful. (R) 17

وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ رَبِّ اجْعَلْ هَـذَا الْبَلَدَ آمِنًا وَاجْنُبْنِي وَبَنِيَّ أَن نَّعْبُدَ الأَصْنَامَ

35.        Waith qala ibraheemu rabbi ijAAal hatha albalada aminan waojnubnee wabaniyya an naAAbuda alasnama
Recall that time when Ibrâhim had prayed: "O Râbb! Make this city (Makkah) the city of peace and save my children and me from worshipping idols.

رَبِّ إِنَّهُنَّ أَضْلَلْنَ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ النَّاسِ فَمَن تَبِعَنِي فَإِنَّهُ مِنِّي وَمَنْ عَصَانِي فَإِنَّكَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

36.        Rabbi innahunna adlalna katheeran mina alnnasi faman tabiAAanee fainnahu minnee waman AAasanee fainnaka ghafoorun raheemun
"O Râbb! These idols have misled many (it is possible that they may mislead my children as well, therefore among them) who follows my way is mine -- and who adopts the way against me then surely YOU are Oft-Forgiving and Most Merciful.

رَّبَّنَا إِنِّي أَسْكَنتُ مِن ذُرِّيَّتِي بِوَادٍ غَيْرِ ذِي زَرْعٍ عِندَ بَيْتِكَ الْمُحَرَّمِ رَبَّنَا لِيُقِيمُواْ الصَّلاَةَ فَاجْعَلْ أَفْئِدَةً مِّنَ النَّاسِ تَهْوِي إِلَيْهِمْ وَارْزُقْهُم مِّنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْكُرُونَ

37.        Rabbana innee askantu min thurriyyatee biwadin ghayri thee zarAAin AAinda baytika almuharrami rabbana liyuqeemoo alssalata faijAAal afidatan mina alnnasi tahwee ilayhim waorzuqhum mina alththamarati laAAallahum yashkuroona
"O Râbb! I have settled some of my children in a barren valley near YOUR Sacred House (the Ka'bah at Makkah).  O Râbb! I have done so, that these people should establish prayer (Salât), therefore YOU fill the hearts of these people with love for them and provide them fruits to eat, perhaps they become thankful.

رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ مَا نُخْفِي وَمَا نُعْلِنُ وَمَا يَخْفَى عَلَى اللّهِ مِن شَيْءٍ فَي الأَرْضِ وَلاَ فِي السَّمَاء

38.        Rabbana innaka taAAlamu ma nukhfee wama nuAAlinu wama yakhfa AAala Allahi min shayin fee alardi wala fee alssamai
"O Râbb! YOU know what we hide and what we disclose"-And in fact there is nothing hidden from Allâh neither in the skies nor in the earth 

الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الَّذِي وَهَبَ لِي عَلَى الْكِبَرِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَقَ إِنَّ رَبِّي لَسَمِيعُ الدُّعَاء

39.        Alhamdu lillahi allathee wahaba lee AAala alkibari ismaAAeela waishaqa inna rabbee lasameeAAu aldduAAai
"Thanks for that Allâh WHO gave me sons like Ismâ'il and Ishâque in this old age, the fact is that my Râbb really answers the prayers.

رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلاَةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِي رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاء

40.        Rabbi ijAAalnee muqeema alssalati wamin thurriyyatee rabbana wtaqabbal duAAai
"O my Râbb! Make me the establisher of the prayer (Salât) and also from among my children (raise such people who do this work). Râbb! Accept my prayer.

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ

41.        Rabbana ighfir lee waliwalidayya walilmumineena yawma yaqoomu alhisabu
"Râbb! Forgive me and my parents and all those who brought Faith on that Day when the reckoning will be established." (R) 18

وَلاَ تَحْسَبَنَّ اللّهَ غَافِلاً عَمَّا يَعْمَلُ الظَّالِمُونَ إِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ تَشْخَصُ فِيهِ الأَبْصَارُ

42.        Wala tahsabanna Allaha ghafilan AAamma yaAAmalu alththalimoona innama yuakhkhiruhum liyawmin tashkhasu feehi alabsaru
Now whatever these cruel people are doing, do not think that Allâh is unaware of it.  Allâh is giving them respite for that Day when the situation will be that the eyes are remained wide open,

مُهْطِعِينَ مُقْنِعِي رُءُوسِهِمْ لاَ يَرْتَدُّ إِلَيْهِمْ طَرْفُهُمْ وَأَفْئِدَتُهُمْ هَوَاء

43.        MuhtiAAeena muqniAAee ruoosihim la yartaddu ilayhim tarfuhum waafidatuhum hawaon
They are running heads up, and eyes are fixed (staring) upward and their hearts full of fear.

وَأَنذِرِ النَّاسَ يَوْمَ يَأْتِيهِمُ الْعَذَابُ فَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ رَبَّنَا أَخِّرْنَا إِلَى أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ نُّجِبْ دَعْوَتَكَ وَنَتَّبِعِ الرُّسُلَ أَوَلَمْ تَكُونُواْ أَقْسَمْتُم مِّن قَبْلُ مَا لَكُم مِّن زَوَالٍ

44.        Waanthiri alnnasa yawma yateehimu alAAathabu fayaqoolu allatheena thalamoo rabbana akhkhirna ila ajalin qareebin nujib daAAwataka wanattabiAAi alrrusula awa lam takoonoo aqsamtum min qablu ma lakum min zawalin
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) scare them of the Day when the torment will overtake them.  At that time these wrongdoers will say: "O our Râbb! Give us a little respite, we will welcome YOUR invitation and will follow the Rasools."  (But it will be said to them clearly): "Are you not the same people who used to swear and say before it that deterioration will never come to us?

وَسَكَنتُمْ فِي مَسَـاكِنِ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمْ كَيْفَ فَعَلْنَا بِهِمْ وَضَرَبْنَا لَكُمُ الأَمْثَالَ

45.       Wasakantum fee masakini allatheena thalamoo anfusahum watabayyana lakum kayfa faAAalna bihim wadarabna lakumu alamthala
Whereas you had lived in the towns of those nations who had done wrong to them and had seen how WE treated them and WE had also made you to understand by giving their examples.

وَقَدْ مَكَرُواْ مَكْرَهُمْ وَعِندَ اللّهِ مَكْرُهُمْ وَإِن كَانَ مَكْرُهُمْ لِتَزُولَ مِنْهُ الْجِبَالُ

46.        Waqad makaroo makrahum waAAinda Allahi makruhum wain kana makruhum litazoola minhu aljibalu
They tried all their tricks, but Allâh had destroyed all their tricks, although their tricks were so powerful that it could even move the mountains."

فَلاَ تَحْسَبَنَّ اللّهَ مُخْلِفَ وَعْدِهِ رُسُلَهُ إِنَّ اللّهَ عَزِيزٌ ذُو انْتِقَامٍ

47.        Fala tahsabanna Allaha mukhlifa waAAdihi rusulahu inna Allaha AAazeezun thoo intiqamin
Therefore O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) you should never think that Allâh will ever do against the promises made with HIS Rasools.  Allâh is Omnipotent and takes the revenge.

يَوْمَ تُبَدَّلُ الأَرْضُ غَيْرَ الأَرْضِ وَالسَّمَاوَاتُ وَبَرَزُواْ للّهِ الْوَاحِدِ الْقَهَّارِ

48.        Yawma tubaddalu alardu ghayra alardi waalssamawatu wabarazoo lillahi alwahidi alqahhari
Scare them of the Day when the earth and the skies will be changed to another forms and all the creatures will stand exposed before Angry Allâh Alone.

وَتَرَى الْمُجْرِمِينَ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُّقَرَّنِينَ فِي الأَصْفَادِ

49.        Watara almujrimeena yawmaithin muqarraneena fee alasfadi
That Day you will see the criminals (Mujrimûn) that their hands and feet will be chained,

سَرَابِيلُهُم مِّن قَطِرَانٍ وَتَغْشَى وُجُوهَهُمْ النَّارُ

50.        Sarabeeluhum min qatranin wataghsha wujoohahumu alnnaru
They will be wearing tar garments and the fire flames will be covering their faces.

لِيَجْزِي اللّهُ كُلَّ نَفْسٍ مَّا كَسَبَتْ إِنَّ اللّهَ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ

51.        Liyajziya Allahu kulla nafsin ma kasabat inna Allaha sareeAAu alhisabi
This will happen so that Allâh should reward each person according to his/her deeds.  Allâh is Swift in settling the accounts.

هَـذَا بَلاَغٌ لِّلنَّاسِ وَلِيُنذَرُواْ بِهِ وَلِيَعْلَمُواْ أَنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَـهٌ وَاحِدٌ وَلِيَذَّكَّرَ أُوْلُواْ الأَلْبَابِ

52.        Hatha balaghun lilnnasi waliyuntharoo bihi waliyaAAlamoo annama huwa ilahun wahidun waliyaththakkara oloo alalbabi
This (Al-Qur'ân) is a Message for the entire mankind, and it has been revealed so that they should be warned by it and they should know it that there is only One Deity (Ilâh, Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) and those who have common sense they come into their senses. (R) 19

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

الَرَ تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ وَقُرْآنٍ مُّبِينٍ

1.          Alif-Lâm-Râ tilka ayatu alkitabi waquranin mubeenin
(Alif-Lâm-Râ -- Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala, Alone knows the meanings).  These are the Verses of the Book of Allâh and the clear Qur'ân.
