Chapter 29

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

1.                Tabaraka allathee biyadihi almulku wahuwa AAala kulli shayin qadeerun
Most Exalted and Respectable is HE in WHOSE Hands is the Sovereignty (of universe), and HE has Power over everything.

الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفُورُ

2.                Allathee khalaqa almawta waalhayata liyabluwakum ayyukum ahsanu AAamalan wahuwa alAAazeezu alghafooru
WHO invented death and life so that HE may test you people to see who does better deeds among you, and HE is All-Powerful as well as Forgiving;

الَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا مَّا تَرَى فِي خَلْقِ الرَّحْمَنِ مِن تَفَاوُتٍ فَارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ هَلْ تَرَى مِن فُطُورٍ

3.                Allathee khalaqa sabAAa samawatin tibaqan ma tara fee khalqi alrrahmani min tafawutin fairjiAAi albasara hal tara min futoorin
WHO created the seven skies one above another?  You will not find any fault in the creations of the Most Loving (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala).  Then look again; do you see any defect anywhere?

ثُمَّ ارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيْنِ يَنقَلِبْ إِلَيْكَ الْبَصَرُ خَاسِأً وَهُوَ حَسِيرٌ

4.                Thumma irjiAAi albasara karratayni yanqalib ilayka albasaru khasian wahuwa haseerun
Look again and yet ag
ain.  Your sight will return unsuccessful exhausted.

وَلَقَدْ زَيَّنَّا السَّمَاء الدُّنْيَا بِمَصَابِيحَ وَجَعَلْنَاهَا رُجُومًا لِّلشَّيَاطِينِ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابَ السَّعِيرِ

5.                Walaqad zayyanna alssamaa alddunya bimasabeeha wajaAAalnaha rujooman lilshshayateeni waaAAtadna lahum AAathaba alssaAAeeri
WE have decorated the sky nearest to you with magnificent lamps and made it means to drive away the Shayâtin.  WE have prepared blazing fire for these Shayâtin.

وَلِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِرَبِّهِمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ

6.                Walillatheena kafaroo birabbihim AAathabu jahannama wabisa almaseeru
There is a torment of Hell for those people who committed infidelity (Kufr) with their Râbb, and it (Hell) is worst place to rest.

إِذَا أُلْقُوا فِيهَا سَمِعُوا لَهَا شَهِيقًا وَهِيَ تَفُورُ

7.                Itha olqoo feeha samiAAoo laha shaheeqan wahiya tafooru
When they will be thrown in it then they will hear terrible noise of its roaring and it will be boiling up,

تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ الْغَيْظِ كُلَّمَا أُلْقِيَ فِيهَا فَوْجٌ سَأَلَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَذِيرٌ

8.                Takadu tamayyazu mina alghaythi kullama olqiya feeha fawjun saalahum khazanatuha alam yatikum natheerun
Will be almost bursting up with fury.  Every time a group is thrown into it, its workers will ask the people: "Did not a warner come to you”?

قَالُوا بَلَى قَدْ جَاءنَا نَذِيرٌ فَكَذَّبْنَا وَقُلْنَا مَا نَزَّلَ اللَّهُ مِن شَيْءٍ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ كَبِيرٍ

9.                Qaloo bala qad jaana natheerun fakaththabna waqulna ma nazzala Allahu min shayin in antum illa fee dalalin kabeerin
They will reply: "Yes a warner did come to us but we denied him and said, 'Allâh has not revealed anything, you are in big error.'"

وَقَالُوا لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِي أَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ

10.            Waqaloo law kunna nasmaAAu aw naAAqilu ma kunna fee ashabi alssaAAeeri
And they will say; "Would that! We had listened or understood then today we would not be among the dwellers of the blazing Fire".

فَاعْتَرَفُوا بِذَنبِهِمْ فَسُحْقًا لِّأَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ

11.             FaiAAtarafoo bithanbihim fasuhqan liashabi alssaAAeeri
In this way they will confess themselves for their sin, curse is on these people of Hell

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُم بِالْغَيْبِ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ

12.             Inna allatheena yakhshawna rabbahum bialghaybi lahum maghfiratun waajrun kabeerun
Those people who fear their unseen Râbb, certainly there is forgiveness and great reward for them.

وَأَسِرُّوا قَوْلَكُمْ أَوِ اجْهَرُوا بِهِ إِنَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ

13.             Waasirroo qawlakum awi ijharoo bihi innahu AAaleemun bithati alssudoori
Whether you talk secretly or aloud (it is same for Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala), HE even Knows the secrets of the hearts.

أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ

14.             Ala yaAAlamu man khalaqa wahuwa allateefu alkhabeeru
Would HE not Know, Who has created?  Whereas HE is Knower of unique mysteries and All Aware.  (R) 1

هُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ ذَلُولًا فَامْشُوا فِي مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُوا مِن رِّزْقِهِ وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ

15.             Huwa allathee jaAAala lakumu alarda thaloolan faimshoo fee manakibiha wakuloo min rizqihi wailayhi alnnushooru
HE is the One WHO has made the earth subservient to you, walk on its chest, and eat the Provisions of Allâh -- you have to return to HIM after Resurrection.

أَأَمِنتُم مَّن فِي السَّمَاء أَن يَخْسِفَ بِكُمُ الأَرْضَ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَمُورُ

16.             Aamintum man fee alssamai an yakhsifa bikumu alarda faitha hiya tamooru
Are you fearless from it that HE, WHO is in the sky, may cause you to sink in the earth and all of sudden this earth start shaking?

أَمْ أَمِنتُم مَّن فِي السَّمَاء أَن يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًا فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ كَيْفَ نَذِيرِ

17.             Am amintum man fee alssamai an yursila AAalaykum hasiban fasataAAlamoona kayfa natheeri
Are you fearless from it that HE, WHO is in the sky, may send brutal tornado against you?  Then you will come to know that how is MY Warning.

وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ

18.             Walaqad kaththaba allatheena min qablihim fakayfa kana nakeeri
Those people who have gone before them have also denied.  Then see how severe was my grip (seizure)? 

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَى الطَّيْرِ فَوْقَهُمْ صَافَّاتٍ وَيَقْبِضْنَ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا الرَّحْمَنُ إِنَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ بَصِيرٌ

19.             Awa lam yaraw ila alttayri fawqahum saffatin wayaqbidna ma yumsikuhunna illa alrrahmanu innahu bikulli shayin baseerun
Do these people not see the flying birds above them spreading and contracting their wings?  There is no one except the Most Loving (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) WHO is upholding them.  HE is the Watcher of everything.

أَمَّنْ هَذَا الَّذِي هُوَ جُندٌ لَّكُمْ يَنصُرُكُم مِّن دُونِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنِ الْكَافِرُونَ إِلَّا فِي غُرُورٍ

20.             Amman hatha allathee huwa jundun lakum yansurukum min dooni alrrahmani ini alkafiroona illa fee ghuroorin
Ask, after all what type of army do you have which can help you against the Most Loving (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala)?  The fact is that these infidels (Kafir) are in deception.

أَمَّنْ هَذَا الَّذِي يَرْزُقُكُمْ إِنْ أَمْسَكَ رِزْقَهُ بَل لَّجُّوا فِي عُتُوٍّ وَنُفُورٍ

21.             Amman hatha allathee yarzuqukum in amsaka rizqahu bal lajjoo fee AAutuwwin wanufoorin
Or either ask, who can give you the provisions if the Most Loving (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) withholds HIS provisions?  In fact, these people are persisting on rebellion and repulsion from the truth.

أَفَمَن يَمْشِي مُكِبًّا عَلَى وَجْهِهِ أَهْدَى أَمَّن يَمْشِي سَوِيًّا عَلَى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

22.             Afaman yamshee mukibban AAala wajhihi ahda amman yamshee sawiyyan AAala siratin mustaqeemin
Just think, the person who is walking with his/her face bent down is going to get the right direction or the one who is walking his/her face up on a Straight Path?

قُلْ هُوَ الَّذِي أَنشَأَكُمْ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ

23.             Qul huwa allathee anshaakum wajaAAala lakumu alssamAAa waalabsara waalafidata qaleelan ma tashkuroona
Tell them that Allâh is the One WHO created you, (HE) has given you the ability to see and hear, and (HE) has given the hearts to think and understand but you are seldom appreciative. 

قُلْ هُوَ الَّذِي ذَرَأَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ

24.             Qul huwa allathee tharaakum fee alardi wailayhi tuhsharoona
Tell them: "HE is Allâh WHO has spread you on the earth and to HIM you will be gathered”.

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَى هَذَا الْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

25.             Wayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeena
They ask: "If you are truthful then tell when this promise will be fulfilled?"

قُلْ إِنَّمَا الْعِلْمُ عِندَ اللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ

26.             Qul innama alAAilmu AAinda Allahi wainnama ana natheerun mubeenun
Tell (them): "Its knowledge is with Allâh Alone, I am only a plain warner."

فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ زُلْفَةً سِيئَتْ وُجُوهُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَقِيلَ هَذَا الَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِ تَدَّعُونَ

27.             Falamma raawhu zulfatan seeat wujoohu allatheena kafaroo waqeela hatha allathee kuntum bihi taddaAAoona
And when they will see that thing (approaching) near at hand then the faces of all those people who denied will be disfigured, and at that time it will be said to them: "This is the thing that you were asking for!"

قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَهْلَكَنِيَ اللَّهُ وَمَن مَّعِيَ أَوْ رَحِمَنَا فَمَن يُجِيرُ الْكَافِرِينَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ

28.             Qul araaytum in ahlakaniya Allahu waman maAAiya aw rahimana faman yujeeru alkafireena min AAathabin aleemin
Ask them: "Have you ever thought that either Allâh may destroy me and my companions or bestow HIS Mercy on us, (but) who will save the infidels (Kafir) from a painful torment?"

قُلْ هُوَ الرَّحْمَنُ آمَنَّا بِهِ وَعَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ

29.             Qul huwa alrrahmanu amanna bihi waAAalayhi tawakkalna fasataAAlamoona man huwa fee dalalin mubeenin
Tell them: "HE is the Most Loving (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala), we have brought Faith in HIM, and in HIM is our trust, soon you will come to know that who is in an obvious error”.

قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَصْبَحَ مَاؤُكُمْ غَوْرًا فَمَن يَأْتِيكُم بِمَاء مَّعِينٍ

30.            Qul araaytum in asbaha maokum ghawran faman yateekum bimain maAAeenin
Ask them: "Have you ever thought that if the water of your wells go down in the earth then who else is there -- who could bring the springs of flowing water for you?”  (R) 2

 

“Al-Qâlâm -The Pen” – (Madanni 68th Sűrah)

 

Total Verses: 52

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

ن وَالْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُونَ

1.                Noon waalqalami wama yasturoona
Nűn (these are prefixes, muqatta’at, only Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala, knows their meanings).  By the pen and of that thing which the writers are writing with,

مَا أَنتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْنُونٍ

2.                Ma anta biniAAmati rabbika bimajnoonin
By the Grace of your Râbb, you are not unsound.

وَإِنَّ لَكَ لَأَجْرًا غَيْرَ مَمْنُونٍ

3.                Wainna laka laajran ghayra mamnoonin
And certainly there is such reward for you that is infinite.

وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلى خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ

4.                Wainnaka laAAala khuluqin AAatheemin
And no doubt, you are on the highest rank of character.

فَسَتُبْصِرُ وَيُبْصِرُونَ

5.                Fasatubsiru wayubsiroona
Soon you will also see and they will also see that,

بِأَييِّكُمُ الْمَفْتُونُ

6.                Biayyikumu almaftoonu
Which of you is afflicted with madness.

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ

7.                Inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu biman dalla AAan sabeelihi wahuwa aAAlamu bialmuhtadeena
Your Râbb also knows those people very well who have gone astray from HIS Path as well as those people who are on the Straight Path (Rightly Guided).

فَلَا تُطِعِ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ

8.                Fala tutiAAi almukaththibeena
Therefore, you should not come under pressure of those who deny.

وَدُّوا لَوْ تُدْهِنُ فَيُدْهِنُونَ

9.                Waddoo law tudhinu fayudhinoona
They wish that you compromise a little then they also compromise.

وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍ مَّهِينٍ

10.            Wala tutiAA kulla hallafin maheenin
Never surrender to any such worthless person who swears much,

هَمَّازٍ مَّشَّاء بِنَمِيمٍ

11.             Hammazin mashshain binameemin
A sarcastic, a backbiter,

مَنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ

12.            MannaAAin lilkhayri muAAtadin atheemin
Hinder from good, crosses all limits in cruelty and oppression, most wicked,

عُتُلٍّ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ زَنِيمٍ

13.             AAutullin baAAda thalika zaneemin
Cruel, and with all these defects (in character) is a baseborn (illegitimate birth),

أَن كَانَ ذَا مَالٍ وَبَنِينَ

14.             An kana tha malin wabaneena
Because he has substantial wealth and children.

إِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ

15.             Itha tutla AAalayhi ayatuna qala asateeru alawwaleena
When OUR Verses (Al-Qur'ân) are recited to him then (he) says: "These are the tales of an ancient times."

سَنَسِمُهُ عَلَى الْخُرْطُومِ

16.             Sanasimuhu AAala alkhurtoomi
Soon WE shall mark over his nose.

إِنَّا بَلَوْنَاهُمْ كَمَا بَلَوْنَا أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ إِذْ أَقْسَمُوا لَيَصْرِمُنَّهَا مُصْبِحِينَ

17.             Inna balawnahum kama balawna ashaba aljannati ith aqsamoo layasrimunnaha musbiheena
WE have put them (the people of Makkah) under trial as WE had tried the owners of the garden, when they pledged that they would surely pluck the fruits of their garden early in the morning,

وَلَا يَسْتَثْنُونَ

18.             Wala yastathnoona
And they were not making any exception. 

فَطَافَ عَلَيْهَا طَائِفٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ وَهُمْ نَائِمُونَ

19.             Fatafa AAalayha taifun min rabbika wahum naimoona
They were sleeping at night when a calamity from your Râbb passed over the garden

فَأَصْبَحَتْ كَالصَّرِيمِ

20.             Faasbahat kaalssareemi
And it (garden) became as it has already been harvested. 

فَتَنَادَوا مُصْبِحِينَ

21.             Fatanadaw musbiheena
Early in the morning they called one another,

أَنِ اغْدُوا عَلَى حَرْثِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَارِمِينَ

22.             Ani ighdoo AAala harthikum in kuntum sarimeena
Saying: "If you want to pick the fruits then depart toward the crop early in the morning”.

فَانطَلَقُوا وَهُمْ يَتَخَافَتُونَ

23.             Faintalaqoo wahum yatakhafatoona
Therefore, they departed and were whispering to one another (saying),

أَن لَّا يَدْخُلَنَّهَا الْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكُم مِّسْكِينٌ

24.             An la yadkhulannaha alyawma AAalaykum miskeenun
Toady, no needy person (Miskîn) could come to you in the garden.

وَغَدَوْا عَلَى حَرْدٍ قَادِرِينَ

25.             Waghadaw AAala hardin qadireena
With firm decision of not giving anything (they) rushed there early in the morning in such a way that as they have power (to pick the fruits).

فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهَا قَالُوا إِنَّا لَضَالُّونَ

26.             Falamma raawha qaloo inna ladalloona
But when they saw the garden (they) started saying: "We have lost our way,
--

بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ

27.             Bal nahnu mahroomoona
No, but we have been deprived of (the fruits)."

قَالَ أَوْسَطُهُمْ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكُمْ لَوْلَا تُسَبِّحُونَ

28.             Qala awsatuhum alam aqul lakum lawla tusabbihoona
The one who was best among them he said: "Did I not ask you, why you don’t glorify (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala)."

قَالُوا سُبْحَانَ رَبِّنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ

29.             Qaloo subhana rabbina inna kunna thalimeena
They cried out: "Pure is our Râbb, in fact we were wrongdoers (Zâliműn)”.

فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ يَتَلَاوَمُونَ

30.             Faaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdin yatalawamoona
Then they started blaming one another.

قَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا طَاغِينَ

31.             Qaloo ya waylana inna kunna tagheena
Finally, they said: "Woe to us, no doubt we had become rebellious (Tâghűn).

عَسَى رَبُّنَا أَن يُبْدِلَنَا خَيْرًا مِّنْهَا إِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا رَاغِبُونَ

32.             AAasa rabbuna an yubdilana khayran minha inna ila rabbina raghiboona
It is possible that in return our Râbb may give us better garden than this, we submit to our Râbb."

كَذَلِكَ الْعَذَابُ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ

33.             Kathalika alAAathabu walaAAathabu alakhirati akbaru law kanoo yaAAlamoona
Such is the punishment.  And the punishment of the Hereafter is bigger than this, would that!  These people knew it.  (R) 3

إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ

34.             Inna lilmuttaqeena AAinda rabbihim jannati alnnaAAeemi
Certainly, with their Râbb there are
Blissful Gardens for those who fear Allâh (Al-Muttaqűn). 

أَفَنَجْعَلُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ كَالْمُجْرِمِينَ

35.             AfanajAAalu almuslimeena kaalmujrimeena
Should WE then treat the obedient like the criminals (Mujriműn)? 

مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ

36.             Ma lakum kayfa tahkumoona
What is the matter with you people, what type of judgment you make?

أَمْ لَكُمْ كِتَابٌ فِيهِ تَدْرُسُونَ

37.             Am lakum kitabun feehi tadrusoona
Do you have any Book in which you read 

إِنَّ لَكُمْ فِيهِ لَمَا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ

38.             Inna lakum feehi lama takhayyaroona
That there you will surely have all that which you like for yourselves?

أَمْ لَكُمْ أَيْمَانٌ عَلَيْنَا بَالِغَةٌ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّ لَكُمْ لَمَا تَحْكُمُونَ

39.             Am lakum aymanun AAalayna balighatun ila yawmi alqiyamati inna lakum lama tahkumoona
Or have you gotten any oath from US until the Day of Resurrection that you will get all that what you demand?

سَلْهُم أَيُّهُم بِذَلِكَ زَعِيمٌ

40.             Salhum ayyuhum bithalika zaAAeemun
Ask them who among you is guarantor of it?

أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَاء فَلْيَأْتُوا بِشُرَكَائِهِمْ إِن كَانُوا صَادِقِينَ

41.             Am lahum shurakao falyatoo bishurakaihim in kanoo sadiqeena
Or then do they have some associated deities (who have taken the responsibility)?  If so then, they should bring their taken deities if they are truthful.

يَوْمَ يُكْشَفُ عَن سَاقٍ وَيُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى السُّجُودِ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ

42.             Yawma yukshafu AAan saqin wayudAAawna ila alssujoodi fala yastateeAAoona
The Day when a hard time will come and the people will be called to prostrate (before Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) then these people will not be able to prostrate,

خَاشِعَةً أَبْصَارُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ وَقَدْ كَانُوا يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى السُّجُودِ وَهُمْ سَالِمُونَ

43.             KhashiAAatan absaruhum tarhaquhum thillatun waqad kanoo yudAAawna ila alssujoodi wahum salimoona
Their eyes will be ashamed; humiliation will be covering them.  When they were in complete good mental health at that time they were called to prostrate (offer prayers, and they used to refuse).

فَذَرْنِي وَمَن يُكَذِّبُ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

44.             Fatharnee waman yukaththibu bihatha alhadeethi sanastadrijuhum min haythu la yaAAlamoona
Therefore, O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) leave to ME the matter of those who denied this Revelation (Al-Qur'ân).  WE shall gradually lead them towards destruction in such a way that even they will not perceive it. 

وَأُمْلِي لَهُمْ إِنَّ كَيْدِي مَتِينٌ

45.             Waomlee lahum inna kaydee mateenun
I am giving them respite, MY Plan is Powerful.

أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ

46.             Am tasaluhum ajran fahum min maghramin muthqaloona
Are you asking a reward from them that they are defunct under its burden?

أَمْ عِندَهُمُ الْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ

47.              Am AAindahumu alghaybu fahum yaktuboona
Do they have knowledge of unseen (Ghaib) which they are writing down?

فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُن كَصَاحِبِ الْحُوتِ إِذْ نَادَى وَهُوَ مَكْظُومٌ

48.             Faisbir lihukmi rabbika wala takun kasahibi alhooti ith nada wahuwa makthoomun
Well, be patient until the Decision of your Râbb comes to pass and do not be like the Fish Fellow (Prophet Yűnus), when he had cried out and he was filled with deep sorrow.

لَوْلَا أَن تَدَارَكَهُ نِعْمَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِ لَنُبِذَ بِالْعَرَاء وَهُوَ مَذْمُومٌ

49.             Lawla an tadarakahu niAAmatun min rabbihi lanubitha bialAAarai wahuwa mathmoomun
If the Mercy of his Râbb had not reached him then he would have been condemned and thrown out on the naked shore (plain barren ground).

فَاجْتَبَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَجَعَلَهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ

50.             Faijtabahu rabbuhu fajaAAalahu mina alssaliheena
In conclusion, his Râbb chose him and included him among the upright people.

وَإِن يَكَادُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَيُزْلِقُونَكَ بِأَبْصَارِهِمْ لَمَّا سَمِعُوا الذِّكْرَ وَيَقُولُونَ إِنَّهُ لَمَجْنُونٌ

51.             Wain yakadu allatheena kafaroo layuzliqoonaka biabsarihim lamma samiAAoo alththikra wayaqooloona innahu lamajnoonun
When these infidels (Kafir) hear the Word of Advice (Al-Qur'ân) then they look at you in such a way as they will uproot your footsteps, and they say: "He is unsound,"

وَمَا هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَالَمِينَ

52.             Wama huwa illa thikrun lilAAalameena
Whereas it is an Advice/Warning for all the people of the world ('Alamîn). (R) 4

 

“Al-Hâqqah – The Reality/Incontestable” – (Makki 69th Sűrah)

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

الْحَاقَّةُ

1.                Alhaqqatu
The Decided Event (Hâqqah)!

مَا الْحَاقَّةُ

2.                Ma alhaqqatu
What is that Indisputable Event?

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحَاقَّةُ

3.                Wama adraka ma alhaqqatu
And what do you know, what that Indisputable Event is?

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَادٌ بِالْقَارِعَةِ

4.                Kaththabat thamoodu waAAadun bialqariAAati
Thaműd and 'Ad (nations) denied (the reality of) the suddenly striking calamity (Qâri'ah).

فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِالطَّاغِيَةِ

5.                Faamma thamoodu faohlikoo bialttaghiyati
Thaműd were destroyed by the severe calamity (awful cry).

وَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِرِيحٍ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٍ

6.                Waamma AAadun faohlikoo bireehin sarsarin AAatiyatin
And 'Ad was destroyed by a furious tornado.

سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَثَمَانِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومًا فَتَرَى الْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَى كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍ

7.                Sakhkharaha AAalayhim sabAAa layalin wathamaniyata ayyamin husooman fatara alqawma feeha sarAAa kaannahum aAAjazu nakhlin khawiyatun
Allâh continuously imposed it on them for seven nights and eight days.  (If you had been there) you would have seen them lying scattered as if they were empty stems of date-palm trees.

فَهَلْ تَرَى لَهُم مِّن بَاقِيَةٍ

8.                Fahal tara lahum min baqiyatin
Now do you see any of them alive?

وَجَاء فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَن قَبْلَهُ وَالْمُؤْتَفِكَاتُ بِالْخَاطِئَةِ

9.                Wajaa firAAawnu waman qablahu waalmutafikatu bialkhatiati
And the same crime was committed by Fir'aun and the people before him and the cities which were overthrown.

فَعَصَوْا رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَةً رَّابِيَةً

10.             FaAAasaw rasoola rabbihim faakhathahum akhthatan rabiyatan
They all did not obey the word of the Rasool of their Râbb -- so HE seized them with severe punishment. 

إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَى الْمَاء حَمَلْنَاكُمْ فِي الْجَارِيَةِ

11.             Inna lamma tagha almao hamalnakum fee aljariyati
When the water storm crossed all limits then WE had embarked you in the boat

لِنَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَةً وَتَعِيَهَا أُذُنٌ وَاعِيَةٌ

12.             LinajAAalaha lakum tathkiratan wataAAiyaha othunun waAAiyatun
So that WE may make this Event a remembrance for you to learn a lesson and the memorizing ears may save its memories.

فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ نَفْخَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ

13.             Faitha nufikha fee alssoori nafkhatun wahidatun
And when the Trumpet will be blown once (with one blowing)

وَحُمِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةً وَاحِدَةً

14.             Wahumilati alardu waaljibalu fadukkata dakkatan wahidatan
And the earth and the mountains shall be uplifted and crushed into pieces with a single stroke,

فَيَوْمَئِذٍ وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ

15.             Fayawmaithin waqaAAati alwaqiAAatu
That Day the Decided Event will take place.

وَانشَقَّتِ السَّمَاء فَهِيَ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاهِيَةٌ

16.             Wainshaqqati alssamao fahiya yawmaithin wahiyatun
On that Day the sky will blast and its grip will be loosen,

وَالْمَلَكُ عَلَى أَرْجَائِهَا وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ ثَمَانِيَةٌ

17.             Waalmalaku AAala arjaiha wayahmilu AAarsha rabbika fawqahum yawmaithin thamaniyatun
And angels will be in its surroundings and on that Day Eight Angels will be carrying the Throne of your Râbb above them.

يَوْمَئِذٍ تُعْرَضُونَ لَا تَخْفَى مِنكُمْ خَافِيَةٌ

18.             Yawmaithin tuAAradoona la takhfa minkum khafiyatun
That will be the Day when you people will be presented, none of your secrets will be hidden.

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ فَيَقُولُ هَاؤُمُ اقْرَؤُوا كِتَابِيهْ

19.             Faamma man ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi fayaqoolu haomu iqraoo kitabiyah
At that time whose record of deeds will be given into his/her right hand he/she will say: "O Look, read my record of deeds,

إِنِّي ظَنَنتُ أَنِّي مُلَاقٍ حِسَابِيهْ

20.             Innee thanantu annee mulaqin hisabiyah
I knew that I am surely going to get my account."

فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ

21.             Fahuwa fee AAeeshatin radiyatin
Therefore he/she will be in a desiring comfort,

فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ

22.             Fee jannatin AAaliyatin
In a Glorious Paradise,

قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٌ

23.             Qutoofuha daniyatun
Whose bunches of fruits will be bending down.

كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا أَسْلَفْتُمْ فِي الْأَيَّامِ الْخَالِيَةِ

24.             Kuloo waishraboo haneean bima aslaftum fee alayyami alkhaliyati
(It will be said to such people) Eat, and drink, and take pleasure from it as a reward of those deeds, which you have done in the gone days.

وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِشِمَالِهِ فَيَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَابِيهْ

25.             Waamma man ootiya kitabahu bishimalihi fayaqoolu ya laytanee lam oota kitabiyah
And whose record of deeds will be given into his/her left hand he/she will say: "Would that!  I had not been given my record of deeds

وَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِيهْ

26.             Walam adri ma hisabiyah
And that I would not know that what is my account?

يَا لَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ الْقَاضِيَةَ

27.             Ya laytaha kanati alqadiyatu
Would that! My death (which came in the world) would be final.

مَا أَغْنَى عَنِّي مَالِيهْ

28.             Ma aghna AAannee maliyah
Today, my wealth has not benefited me.

هَلَكَ عَنِّي سُلْطَانِيهْ

29.             Halaka AAannee sultaniyah
All my power/pride has been destroyed."

خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ

30.             Khuthoohu faghulloohu
(It will be commanded): "Seize him/her and put (iron) chain around his/her neck,

ثُمَّ الْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ

31.             Thumma aljaheema salloohu
Then throw him/her into the Hell (blazing Fire),

ثُمَّ فِي سِلْسِلَةٍ ذَرْعُهَا سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعًا فَاسْلُكُوهُ

32.             Thumma fee silsilatin tharAAuha sabAAoona thiraAAan faoslukoohu
Then fasten him/her with seventy hands (cubits) long chain."

إِنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ

33.             Innahu kana la yuminu biAllahi alAAatheemi
Neither he/she used to bring Faith in Allâh the Most Great,

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَى طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ

34.             Wala yahuddu AAala taAAami almiskeeni
Nor used to motivate to feed the needy (Al­-Miskîn).

فَلَيْسَ لَهُ الْيَوْمَ هَاهُنَا حَمِيمٌ

35.             Falaysa lahu alyawma hahuna hameemun
Therefore, today neither he/she has any close friend and

وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ غِسْلِينٍ

36.             Wala taAAamun illa min ghisleenin
Nor any other food except filth from the washing of wounds,

لَا يَأْكُلُهُ إِلَّا الْخَاطِؤُونَ

37.             La yakuluhu illa alkhatioona
Which no one eats except the sinners (Khâti'űn)?  (R) 5

فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ

38.             Fala oqsimu bima tubsiroona
Therefore, absolutely not, I swear by those things which you see,

وَمَا لَا تُبْصِرُونَ

39.             Wama la tubsiroona
As well as by those things which you do not see,

إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ

40.             Innahu laqawlu rasoolin kareemin
This is word of an honored Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam),

وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِرٍ قَلِيلًا مَا تُؤْمِنُونَ

41.             Wama huwa biqawli shaAAirin qaleelan ma tuminoona
It is not a word of any poet; you people seldom bring Faith.

وَلَا بِقَوْلِ كَاهِنٍ قَلِيلًا مَا تَذَكَّرُونَ

42.             Wala biqawli kahinin qaleelan ma tathakkaroona
And nor it is a word of any magician/fortune-teller, you people seldom ponder.

تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

43.             Tanzeelun min rabbi alAAalameena
This has been Revealed from the Râbb of the entire world (Râbb-ul-Alamîn).

وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ الْأَقَاوِيلِ

44.             Walaw taqawwala AAalayna baAAda alaqaweeli
And if he had forged something himself and ascribed it to US

لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِالْيَمِينِ

45.             Laakhathna minhu bialyameeni
Then WE should have seized his right hand,

ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ الْوَتِينَ

46.             Thumma laqataAAna minhu alwateena
And should have cut-off his life artery (neck vain, aorta),

فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَاجِزِينَ

47.             Fama minkum min ahadin AAanhu hajizeena
Then there would be no one from among you who could have stopped (US) from this task.

وَإِنَّهُ لَتَذْكِرَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ

48.             Wainnahu latathkiratun lilmuttaqeena
In fact, this is an advice for those people who fear Allâh (Muttaqűn).

وَإِنَّا لَنَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ

49.             Wainna lanaAAlamu anna minkum mukaththibeena
And WE know that there are some among you who deny it.

وَإِنَّهُ لَحَسْرَةٌ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ

50.             Wainnahu lahasratun AAala alkafireena
For such infidels (Kafir) this (Al-Qur'ân) is surely a cause of hopelessness.

وَإِنَّهُ لَحَقُّ الْيَقِينِ

51.             Wainnahu lahaqqu alyaqeeni
And this (Al-Qur'ân) is an absolute truth without any doubts.

فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ

52.             Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi
Therefore, O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) glorify the Name of your Râbb, the Predominant.

 

“Al-Ma'ârij - The Heights/The Ascending Strairways” – (Makki 70th Sűrah)

 

Total Verses: 44

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

سَأَلَ سَائِلٌ بِعَذَابٍ وَاقِعٍ

1.                Saala sailun biAAathabin waqiAAin
The supplicant has asked for a torment, which (the torment) is certainly going to take place

لِّلْكَافِرينَ لَيْسَ لَهُ دَافِعٌ

2.                Lilkafireena laysa lahu dafiAAun
It is for the infidels (Kafir), there is no one who can avert it,

مِّنَ اللَّهِ ذِي الْمَعَارِجِ

3.                Mina Allahi thee almaAAariji
It is from that Allâh WHO is the Owner of the steps of ascent.

تَعْرُجُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ إِلَيْهِ فِي يَوْمٍ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُ خَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ

4.                TaAAruju almalaikatu waalrroohu ilayhi fee yawmin kana miqdaruhu khamseena alfa sanatin
The angels and the Spirit (Rűh) ascend towards HIM in a Day whose measure is fifty thousand years.

فَاصْبِرْ صَبْرًا جَمِيلًا

5.                Faisbir sabran jameelan
Therefore, O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), be patient, gracious patience.

إِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَهُ بَعِيدًا

6.                 Innahum yarawnahu baAAeedan
These people think it is far away

وَنَرَاهُ قَرِيبًا

7.                 Wanarahu qareeban
And WE are seeing it quite close.

يَوْمَ تَكُونُ السَّمَاء كَالْمُهْلِ

8.                Yawma takoonu alssamao kaalmuhli
(The torment will take place on that Day) When the sky will become like the melted silver,

وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ

9.                 Watakoonu aljibalu kaalAAihni
And the mountains will become like colorful clusters of combed wool,

وَلَا يَسْأَلُ حَمِيمٌ حَمِيمًا

10.             Wala yasalu hameemun hameeman
And no close friend will ask of his/her close friend,

يُبَصَّرُونَهُمْ يَوَدُّ الْمُجْرِمُ لَوْ يَفْتَدِي مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمِئِذٍ بِبَنِيهِ

11.             Yubassaroonahum yawaddu almujrimu law yaftadee min AAathabi yawmiithin bibaneehi
Though they shall be shown to each other.  The criminal  (Mujriműn) will wish to give everything, his/her offspring,

وَصَاحِبَتِهِ وَأَخِيهِ

12.             Wasahibatihi waakheehi
Spouse, brother,

وَفَصِيلَتِهِ الَّتِي تُؤْويهِ

13.             Wafaseelatihi allatee tuweehi
Close family members who protected him/her

وَمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ يُنجِيهِ

14.             Waman fee alardi jameeAAan thumma yunjeehi
And all the people of the earth, in ransom to save himself/herself from the torment of that Day and this plan may liberate him/her.

كَلَّا إِنَّهَا لَظَى

15.             Kalla innaha latha
Absolutely not.  That will be the flame of blazing Fire of Hell,

نَزَّاعَةً لِّلشَّوَى

16.             NazzaAAatan lilshshawa
Which will eat up the skin and flesh,

تَدْعُو مَنْ أَدْبَرَ وَتَوَلَّى

17.             TadAAoo man adbara watawalla
It will invite to itself every such person who turned away his/her face and withdrew from truth

وَجَمَعَ فَأَوْعَى

18.             WajamaAAa faawAAa
And collected wealth and kept it hidden (in safe place).

إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا

19.             Inna alinsana khuliqa halooAAan
Human has been created very impatient,

إِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ جَزُوعًا

20.             Itha massahu alshsharru jazooAAan
When misery comes to him/her; he/she becomes depressed

وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الْخَيْرُ مَنُوعًا

21.             Waitha massahu alkhayru manooAAan
And when a good fortune comes to him/her then he/she becomes miser.

إِلَّا الْمُصَلِّينَ

22.             Illa almusalleena
But those people (are saved from this sin) who are the performers of prayer (Salât),

الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَى صَلَاتِهِمْ دَائِمُونَ

23.             Allatheena hum AAala salatihim daimoona
Who always guard their prayers (Salât),

وَالَّذِينَ فِي أَمْوَالِهِمْ حَقٌّ مَّعْلُومٌ

24.             Waallatheena fee amwalihim haqqun maAAloomun
(Those) In whose wealth there is a due share,

لِّلسَّائِلِ وَالْمَحْرُومِ

25.             Lilssaili waalmahroomi
For the homeless person and the unlucky ones,

وَالَّذِينَ يُصَدِّقُونَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ

26.             Waallatheena yusaddiqoona biyawmi alddeeni
(Those) Who accept the truth of the Day of Recompense,

وَالَّذِينَ هُم مِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّهِم مُّشْفِقُونَ

27.             Waallatheena hum min AAathabi rabbihim mushfiqoona
(Those) Who fear the torment of their Râbb,

إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّهِمْ غَيْرُ مَأْمُونٍ

28.             Inna AAathaba rabbihim ghayru mamoonin
Because the torment of their Râbb is not such thing from which anyone can feel secure,

وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَافِظُونَ

29.             Waallatheena hum lifuroojihim hafithoona
(Those) Who guard their chastity
--

إِلَّا عَلَى أَزْوَاجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ

30.             Illa AAala azwajihim aw ma malakat aymanuhum fainnahum ghayru maloomeena
Except from their wives or those women, who are in their possession, there is no blame on them for not guarding from them.

فَمَنِ ابْتَغَى وَرَاء ذَلِكَ فَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْعَادُونَ

31.             Famani ibtagha waraa thalika faolaika humu alAAadoona
However, those who desire something else than this -- they are the ones who are transgressors
--,

وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَانَاتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَاعُونَ

32.             Waallatheena hum liamanatihim waAAahdihim raAAoona
Who guard their trusts and keep their promises;

وَالَّذِينَ هُم بِشَهَادَاتِهِمْ قَائِمُونَ

33.             Waallatheena hum bishahadatihim qaimoona
Who stand upright in their testimonies

وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَى صَلَاتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ

34.             Waallatheena hum AAala salatihim yuhafithoona
And those who guard their prayers (Salât).

أُوْلَئِكَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ مُّكْرَمُونَ

35.             Olaika fee jannatin mukramoona
These people will live in the Gardens of Paradise with honor.  (R) 7

فَمَالِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا قِبَلَكَ مُهْطِعِينَ

36.             Famali allatheena kafaroo qibalaka muhtiAAeena
Therefore, O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), why is this that these infidels (Kafir) are rushing toward you

عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ الشِّمَالِ عِزِينَ

37.             AAani alyameeni waAAani alshshimali AAizeena
In groups from right and left?

أَيَطْمَعُ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُدْخَلَ جَنَّةَ نَعِيمٍ

38.             AyatmaAAu kullu imriin minhum an yudkhala jannata naAAeemin
Does everyone from among them have greed that he/she will be entered into the
Paradise of delight?

كَلَّا إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُم مِّمَّا يَعْلَمُونَ

39.             Kalla inna khalaqnahum mimma yaAAlamoona
Absolutely not.  They know themselves with what WE have created them.

فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِرَبِّ الْمَشَارِقِ وَالْمَغَارِبِ إِنَّا لَقَادِرُونَ

40.             Fala oqsimu birabbi almashariqi waalmagharibi inna laqadiroona
Therefore absolutely not, I swear By the Râbb of the Easts and the Wests, that WE have the Power

عَلَى أَن نُّبَدِّلَ خَيْرًا مِّنْهُمْ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ

41.             AAala an nubaddila khayran minhum wama nahnu bimasbooqeena
To bring better people at their place and there is no one who can surpass US.

فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوضُوا وَيَلْعَبُوا حَتَّى يُلَاقُوا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ

42.             Fatharhum yakhoodoo wayalAAaboo hatta yulaqoo yawmahumu allathee yooAAadoona
Therefore, leave them in their vain talks and play until they reach to their that Day which is being promised to them, 

يَوْمَ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ سِرَاعًا كَأَنَّهُمْ إِلَى نُصُبٍ يُوفِضُونَ

43.             Yawma yakhrujoona mina alajdathi siraAAan kaannahum ila nusubin yoofidoona
When coming out of their graves they will be rushing as if they are running toward the shrines of their deities,

خَاشِعَةً أَبْصَارُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي كَانُوا يُوعَدُونَ

44.            KhashiAAatan absaruhum tarhaquhum thillatun thalika alyawmu allathee kanoo yooAAadoona
Their eyes will be ashamed; the humiliation will be covering them.  That is the Day, which is being promised to them.  (R) 8 

 

 “Nűh -Noah” – (Makki 71st, Sűrah)

 

Total Verses: 28

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَى قَوْمِهِ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

1.               Inna arsalna noohan ila qawmihi an anthir qawmaka min qabli an yatiyahum AAathabun aleemun
WE sent Nűh to his nation (with this guidance): "Warn the people of your nation before it that a severe calamity befalls on them."

قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ

2.               Qala ya qawmi innee lakum natheerun mubeenun
He said: "O people of my nation, I am a plain warner (Messenger) to you.

أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ

3.                Ani oAAbudoo Allaha waittaqoohu waateeAAooni
(I warn you) That Serve Allâh Alone and fear HIM and obey me,

يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى إِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ إِذَا جَاء لَا يُؤَخَّرُ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

4.               Yaghfir lakum min thunoobikum wayuakhkhirkum ila ajalin musamman inna ajala Allahi itha jaa la yuakhkharu law kuntum taAAlamoona
Allâh will forgive you your sins and will keep you for an appointed term.  The fact is that when the appointed term of Allâh comes then it cannot be postponed, would that! you knew it."

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِي لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا

5.                Qala rabbi innee daAAawtu qawmee laylan wanaharan
He prayed: "O my Râbb, I invited my people night and day,

فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَائِي إِلَّا فِرَارًا

6.                Falam yazidhum duAAaee illa firaran
But my invitation only increased in their runaway.

وَإِنِّي كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوا أَصَابِعَهُمْ فِي آذَانِهِمْ وَاسْتَغْشَوْا ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا اسْتِكْبَارًا

7.                Wainnee kullama daAAawtuhum litaghfira lahum jaAAaloo asabiAAahum fee athanihim waistaghshaw thiyabahum waasarroo waistakbaroo istikbaran
And whenever I invited them so that YOU might forgive them then they thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered their faces with their garments and persisted on their behavior and became arrogant.

ثُمَّ إِنِّي دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًا

8.                Thumma innee daAAawtuhum jiharan
Then I invited them openly and aloud.

ثُمَّ إِنِّي أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًا

9.                Thumma innee aAAlantu lahum waasrartu lahum israran
Then I also preached them in public and made them to understand in private.

فَقُلْتُ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ غَفَّارًا

10.             Faqultu istaghfiroo rabbakum innahu kana ghaffaran
I told (them): 'Seek forgiveness from your Râbb, no doubt HE is Most Forgiving.

يُرْسِلِ السَّمَاء عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا

11.             Yursili alssamaa AAalaykum midraran
HE will send bountiful rains from the sky for you;

وَيُمْدِدْكُمْ بِأَمْوَالٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَارًا

12.            Wayumdidkum biamwalin wabaneena wayajAAal lakum jannatin wayajAAal lakum anharan
(Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) Will bless you with wealth and children, will grow gardens for you and will flow canals for you.

مَّا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًا

13.             Ma lakum la tarjoona lillahi waqaran
What is the matter with you that you do not regard the Greatness of Allâh?

وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا

14.             Waqad khalaqakum atwaran
Whereas HE has created you in different stages (Nutfah, 'Alaqah and Mudghah).

أَلَمْ تَرَوْا كَيْفَ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا

15.              Alam taraw kayfa khalaqa Allahu sabAAa samawatin tibaqan
Don’t you see that how Allâh created the seven skies one above another,

وَجَعَلَ الْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًا وَجَعَلَ الشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا

16.             WajaAAala alqamara feehinna nooran wajaAAala alshshamsa sirajan
And among them made the moon a light and sun a lamp?

وَاللَّهُ أَنبَتَكُم مِّنَ الْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًا

17.             WaAllahu anbatakum mina alardi nabatan
And Allâh caused you to grow from the earth in a strange way,

ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًا

18.             Thumma yuAAeedukum feeha wayukhrijukum ikhrajan
Then HE will return you into the same earth and will resurrect you from it all of sudden

وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ بِسَاطًا

19.             WaAllahu jaAAala lakumu alarda bisatan
And Allâh has spread the earth for you like a floor

لِتَسْلُكُوا مِنْهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًا

20.             Litaslukoo minha subulan fijajan
So that you may travel around on it -- on vast paths”.  (R) 9

قَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِي وَاتَّبَعُوا مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُ وَوَلَدُهُ إِلَّا خَسَارًا

21.             Qala noohun rabbi innahum AAasawnee waittabaAAoo man lam yazidhu maluhu wawaladuhu illa khasaran
Nűh said: "My Râbb, they have rejected my word and have followed those (rich people) who became more unfortunates after getting wealth and children.

وَمَكَرُوا مَكْرًا كُبَّارًا

22.             Wamakaroo makran kubbaran
These people have devised/spread a mighty plot of mischief.

وَقَالُوا لَا تَذَرُنَّ آلِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَلَا سُوَاعًا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًا

23.             Waqaloo la tatharunna alihatakum wala tatharunna waddan wala suwaAAan wala yaghootha wayaAAooqa wanasran
They said: “Do not leave your deities at all, nor leave Wadd, nor Suwâ' (names of their deities, idols) and nor Yaghűth and Ya'űq and Nasr (names of the idols).

وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا كَثِيرًا وَلَا تَزِدِ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَالًا

24.             Waqad adalloo katheeran wala tazidi alththalimeena illa dalalan
They have misguided many people and (O Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala): 'YOU should not give them increase in anything except wrongdoing.”

مِمَّا خَطِيئَاتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا فَأُدْخِلُوا نَارًا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا لَهُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَنصَارًا

25.             Mimma khateeatihim oghriqoo faodkhiloo naran falam yajidoo lahum min dooni Allahi ansaran
They were drowned because of their own sins and made to enter the Fire, then they did not find any helper for them who could save them from Allâh.

وَقَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ دَيَّارًا

26.             Waqala noohun rabbi la tathar AAala alardi mina alkafireena dayyaran
And Nűh said: "My Râbb, do not leave any dweller on the earth -- from among the infidels (Kafir)

إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوا إِلَّا فَاجِرًا كَفَّارًا

27.             Innaka in tatharhum yudilloo AAibadaka wala yalidoo illa fajiran kaffaran
If YOU let them to live then they will mislead YOUR devotees and whosoever will be born from their progeny (he/she) will be most unfortunate and complete infidel (Kafir)."

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِيَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًا

28.             Rabbi ighfir lee waliwalidayya waliman dakhala baytiya muminan walilmumineena waalmuminati wala tazidi alththalimeena illa tabaran
My Râbb, Forgive me, and my parents, and each such person who has entered into my home as a believer, and all the believing men and women.  And the cruel (Zâliműn) do not give increase in anything except destruction."  (R) 10

 

“Al-Jinn -  The Jinn” – (Makki 72nd Sűrah)

 

Total Verses: 28

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

قُلْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ اسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْآنًا عَجَبًا

1.                Qul oohiya ilayya annahu istamaAAa nafarun mina aljinni faqaloo inna samiAAna quranan AAajaban
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) Say: "Revelation has been sent to me that a group of Jinn has listened it (Al-Qur'ân) thoughtfully then (returning to the people of their nation they) said: We have listened a Wonderful/Glorious Qur'ân

يَهْدِي إِلَى الرُّشْدِ فَآمَنَّا بِهِ وَلَن نُّشْرِكَ بِرَبِّنَا أَحَدًا

2.                Yahdee ila alrrushdi faamanna bihi walan nushrika birabbina ahadan
Which guides towards the Right Path this is why we have brought Faith in it and now we shall never associate anyone with our Râbb (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala)”.

وَأَنَّهُ تَعَالَى جَدُّ رَبِّنَا مَا اتَّخَذَ صَاحِبَةً وَلَا وَلَدًا

3.                Waannahu taAAala jaddu rabbina ma ittakhatha sahibatan wala waladan
And that, “the Glory of our Râbb is magnificent; HE has not taken anyone as a wife or a son”.

وَأَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ سَفِيهُنَا عَلَى اللَّهِ شَطَطًا

4.                Waannahu kana yaqoolu safeehuna AAala Allahi shatatan
And that, “our foolish people have been saying rubbish things about Allâh”. 

وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّا أَن لَّن تَقُولَ الْإِنسُ وَالْجِنُّ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا

5.                Waanna thananna an lan taqoola alinsu waaljinnu AAala Allahi kathiban
And that, “we thought that mankind and jinn can never lie about Allâh”.

وَأَنَّهُ كَانَ رِجَالٌ مِّنَ الْإِنسِ يَعُوذُونَ بِرِجَالٍ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ فَزَادُوهُمْ رَهَقًا

6.                Waannahu kana rijalun mina alinsi yaAAoothoona birijalin mina aljinni fazadoohum rahaqan
And that, “ some people from among the mankind used to seek the refuge with some of the jinns, in this way they increased the arrogance of jinns more”.

وَأَنَّهُمْ ظَنُّوا كَمَا ظَنَنتُمْ أَن لَّن يَبْعَثَ اللَّهُ أَحَدًا

7.                Waannahum thannoo kama thanantum an lan yabAAatha Allahu ahadan
And that, “the human also thought the same way as you had thought that Allâh will not send anyone as a Rasool”.

وَأَنَّا لَمَسْنَا السَّمَاء فَوَجَدْنَاهَا مُلِئَتْ حَرَسًا شَدِيدًا وَشُهُبًا

8.                Waanna lamasna alssamaa fawajadnaha muliat harasan shadeedan washuhuban
And that, “we explore the sky and saw that it is full with guards and there is rainfall of flaming fires”.

وَأَنَّا كُنَّا نَقْعُدُ مِنْهَا مَقَاعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِ فَمَن يَسْتَمِعِ الْآنَ يَجِدْ لَهُ شِهَابًا رَّصَدًا

9.                Waanna kunna naqAAudu minha maqaAAida lilssamAAi faman yastamiAAi alana yajid lahu shihaban rasadan
And that, “before we used to find a place in the sky to sit and overhear things, but now whosoever tries to listen secretly he/she finds a flaming fire lying in ambush for him/her”.

وَأَنَّا لَا نَدْرِي أَشَرٌّ أُرِيدَ بِمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ أَمْ أَرَادَ بِهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ رَشَدًا

10.             Waanna la nadree asharrun oreeda biman fee alardi am arada bihim rabbuhum rashadan
And that, “we did not understand that whether an evil is intended for the people on the earth or their Râbb wants to show them Straight and Right Path”.

وَأَنَّا مِنَّا الصَّالِحُونَ وَمِنَّا دُونَ ذَلِكَ كُنَّا طَرَائِقَ قِدَدًا

11.             Waanna minna alssalihoona waminna doona thalika kunna taraiqa qidadan
And that, “there are some people from among us who are righteous and some are opposite, we are divided into different sects”.

وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّا أَن لَّن نُّعجِزَ اللَّهَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَن نُّعْجِزَهُ هَرَبًا

12.             Wanna thananna an lan nuAAjiza Allaha fee alardi walan nuAAjizahu haraban
And that, “we understood that neither we could frustrate Allâh in the earth nor could we defeat HIM by running away”.

وَأَنَّا لَمَّا سَمِعْنَا الْهُدَى آمَنَّا بِهِ فَمَن يُؤْمِن بِرَبِّهِ فَلَا يَخَافُ بَخْسًا وَلَا رَهَقًا

13.            Waanna lamma samiAAna alhuda amanna bihi faman yumin birabbihi fala yakhafu bakhsan wala rahaqan
And that, “when we heard the teaching of Guidance (Al-Qur'ân) then we brought Faith in it.  Now whosoever will bring Faith in his/her Râbb he/she will not have any fear of loss or injustice”.

وَأَنَّا مِنَّا الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَمِنَّا الْقَاسِطُونَ فَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ فَأُوْلَئِكَ تَحَرَّوْا رَشَدًا

14.            Waanna minna almuslimoona waminna alqasitoona faman aslama faolaika taharraw rashadan
And that, “there are some among us who are Muslims (servants of Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala), and some are deviators from truth (Al-Qâsitűn).  Then whoever has embraced Islâm (the way of obedience) he/she has found the Path of deliverance,

وَأَمَّا الْقَاسِطُونَ فَكَانُوا لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَبًا

15.            Waama alqasitoona fakanoo lijahannama hataban
And as for those who are the deniers of truth (Qâsitűn) they are going to be the fuel for Hell”.

وَأَلَّوِ اسْتَقَامُوا عَلَى الطَّرِيقَةِ لَأَسْقَيْنَاهُم مَّاء غَدَقًا

16.             Waallawi istaqamoo AAala alttareeqati laasqaynahum maan ghadaqan
And (O Prophet, Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, say, it also has been revealed to me that) if the people had firmly followed the Righteous Path then WE should have given them bountiful water

لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيهِ وَمَن يُعْرِضْ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِ يَسْلُكْهُ عَذَابًا صَعَدًا

17.             Linaftinahum feehi waman yuAArid AAan thikri rabbihi yaslukhu AAathaban saAAadan
So, that (WE) put him/her under trial with this blessing.  And whosoever will turn away from the Remembrance of his/her Râbb, his/her Râbb will enter him/her in severe torment.

وَأَنَّ الْمَسَاجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدْعُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ أَحَدًا

18.             Waanna almasajida lillahi fala tadAAoo maAAa Allahi ahadan
And that, the Masjids (Muslims place of worships) are for Allâh therefore do not appeal to (Remember) anyone else in them along with Allâh.

وَأَنَّهُ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَدْعُوهُ كَادُوا يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا

19.             Waannahu lamma qama AAabdu Allahi yadAAoohu kadoo yakoonoona AAalayhi libadan
And that, when the devotee of Allâh (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) stood up to call HIM then the people got ready to attack him.  (R) 11

قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَدْعُو رَبِّي وَلَا أُشْرِكُ بِهِ أَحَدًا

20.            Qul innama adAAoo rabbee wala oshriku bihi ahadan
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) say, “I only plead to my Râbb (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala, Alone) and do not associate anyone with HIM”.

قُلْ إِنِّي لَا أَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا رَشَدًا

21.            Qul innee la amliku lakum darran wala rashadan
Say, "I do not have any power to harm you or benefit you
”.

قُلْ إِنِّي لَن يُجِيرَنِي مِنَ اللَّهِ أَحَدٌ وَلَنْ أَجِدَ مِن دُونِهِ مُلْتَحَدًا

22.            Qul innee lan yujeeranee mina Allahi ahadun walan ajida min doonihi multahadan
Say, "No one can protect me from the Grip of Allâh (if I were to disobey HIM) and nor can I find any refuge except in HIM.

إِلَّا بَلَاغًا مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَرِسَالَاتِهِ وَمَن يَعْصِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَإِنَّ لَهُ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا

23.            Illa balaghan mina Allahi warisalatihi waman yaAAsi Allaha warasoolahu fainna lahu nara jahannama khalideena feeha abadan
My task/job is only to deliver the Word and Message of Allâh.  Now whoever will not embrace the Word of Allâh and HIS Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), there is Hell Fire for him/her and such people will remain in it forever."

حَتَّى إِذَا رَأَوْا مَا يُوعَدُونَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ أَضْعَفُ نَاصِرًا وَأَقَلُّ عَدَدًا

24.            Hatta itha raaw ma yooAAadoona fasayaAAlamoona man adAAafu nasiran waaqallu AAadadan
(These people will not give up their behavior) Until that when they will see that thing which is being promised to them then they will come to know that whose helpers are weaker and whose group is smaller in numbers.

قُلْ إِنْ أَدْرِي أَقَرِيبٌ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ أَمْ يَجْعَلُ لَهُ رَبِّي أَمَدًا

25.            Qul in adree aqareebun ma tooAAadoona am yajAAalu lahu rabbee amadan
Say: "I do not know whether that thing which is being promised to you is near or whether my Râbb appoints a longer period for it.

عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ فَلَا يُظْهِرُ عَلَى غَيْبِهِ أَحَدًا

26.             AAalimu alghaybi fala yuthhiru AAala ghaybihi ahadan
HE is the Knower of all the unseen (Ghâ'ib), (HE) Does not Reveal HIS Secret (Ghâ'ib) to anyone,

إِلَّا مَنِ ارْتَضَى مِن رَّسُولٍ فَإِنَّهُ يَسْلُكُ مِن بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ رَصَدًا

27.             Illa mani irtada min rasoolin fainnahu yasluku min bayni yadayhi wamin khalfihi rasadan
Except that Rasool whom HE has chosen (to give the knowledge of unseen, Ghâ'ib), then HE appoints protectors before and behind him

لِيَعْلَمَ أَن قَدْ أَبْلَغُوا رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَأَحَاطَ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ وَأَحْصَى كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عَدَدًا

28.             LiyaAAlama an qad ablaghoo risalati rabbihim waahata bima ladayhim waahsa kulla shayin AAadadan
So that HE (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) should know that they have conveyed the Message of their Râbb, and HE has encircled all their surroundings and HE has kept a count of each and everything.  (R) 12

 

“Al-Muzzâmmil – The Cloaked/The Covered One” – (Makki 73rd Sűrah)

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُ

1.                 Ya ayyuha almuzzammilu
O (you, Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) who sleeping covered in garment (Muzzâmmil, one of the nicknames of Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam),

قُمِ اللَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا

2.                 Qumi allayla illa qaleelan
Keep standing in prayer at night but a less.

نِصْفَهُ أَوِ انقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيلًا

3.                 Nisfahu awi onqus minhu qaleelan
Half the night or lessen it a little bit,

أَوْ زِدْ عَلَيْهِ وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِيلًا

4.                 Aw zid AAalayhi warattili alqurana tarteelan
Or add to it a little more, and recite Al-Qur'ân in slow and sweet tone.

إِنَّا سَنُلْقِي عَلَيْكَ قَوْلًا ثَقِيلًا

5.                 Inna sanulqee AAalayka qawlan thaqeelan
WE are going to reveal to you a massive Word.

إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ اللَّيْلِ هِيَ أَشَدُّ وَطْءًا وَأَقْوَمُ قِيلًا

6.                 Inna nashiata allayli hiya ashaddu watan waaqwamu qeelan
In fact, the getting up at night (for Tahajjud prayer) is very effective to control the inner-self and most suitable to recite Al-Qur'ân well.

إِنَّ لَكَ فِي اَلنَّهَارِ سَبْحًا طَوِيلًا

7.                 Inna laka fee alnnahari sabhan taweelan
In daytime, there are many engagements for you.

وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًا

8.                Waothkuri isma rabbika watabattal ilayhi tabteelan
Remember the Name of your Râbb and completely devote yourself to HIM (with a complete devotion, ignoring all others).

رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَاتَّخِذْهُ وَكِيلًا

9.                Rabbu almashriqi waalmaghribi la ilaha illa huwa faittakhithhu wakeelan
HE is the Owner (Râbb) of the East and the West, there is no deity (ilâha) except HIM (Lâ ilâha illa Huwa).  Therefore, take HIM as your Pleader/Protector (Wakîl).

وَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمِيلًا

10.             Waisbir AAala ma yaqooloona waohjurhum hajran jameelan
And what these people are fabricating be patient on that and leave them in a polite way.

وَذَرْنِي وَالْمُكَذِّبِينَ أُولِي النَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيلًا

11.             Watharnee waalmukaththibeena olee alnnaAAmati wamahhilhum qaleelan
You leave it to ME to deal with the affluent people who deny the Truth and let them remain in this situation for a while.

إِنَّ لَدَيْنَا أَنكَالًا وَجَحِيمًا

12.             Inna ladayna ankalan wajaheeman
WE have heavy chains/fetters (for them) and a blazing Fire

وَطَعَامًا ذَا غُصَّةٍ وَعَذَابًا أَلِيمًا

13.             WataAAaman tha ghussatin waAAathaban aleeman
And a choking food and a painful torment.

يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الْأَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ الْجِبَالُ كَثِيبًا مَّهِيلًا

14.             Yawma tarjufu alardu waaljibalu wakanati aljibalu katheeban maheelan
It will happen on that Day when the earth and the mountains will shake and the mountains will become as heaps of sand that are scattering away.

إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولًا شَاهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُولًا

15.             Inna arsalna ilaykum rasoolan shahidan AAalaykum kama arsalna ila firAAawna rasoolan
In the same way WE have sent a Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) to you people as a witness over you as WE had sent a Rasool (Műsa) toward Fir'aun

فَعَصَى فِرْعَوْنُ الرَّسُولَ فَأَخَذْنَاهُ أَخْذًا وَبِيلًا

16.             FaAAasa firAAawnu alrrasoola faakhathnahu akhthan wabeelan FaAAasa firAAawnu alrrasoola faakhathnahu akhthan wabeelan
(And see when) Fir'aun disobeyed that Rasool then WE seized him with firm grip. 

فَكَيْفَ تَتَّقُونَ إِن كَفَرْتُمْ يَوْمًا يَجْعَلُ الْوِلْدَانَ شِيبًا

17.             Fakayfa tattaqoona in kafartum yawman yajAAalu alwildana sheeban
If you will refuse to accept then how will you save yourselves on that Day which will turn the children old

السَّمَاء مُنفَطِرٌ بِهِ كَانَ وَعْدُهُ مَفْعُولًا

18.             Alssamao munfatirun bihi kana waAAduhu mafAAoolan
And the sky will be splitting asunder with its severity?  The Promise of Allâh has to be fulfilled.

إِنَّ هَذِهِ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَن شَاء اتَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ سَبِيلًا

19.             Inna hathihi tathkiratun faman shaa ittakhatha ila rabbihi sabeelan
This is an advice, now whosoever wants should embrace the Path that leads toward his/her Râbb. (R) 13

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُومُ أَدْنَى مِن ثُلُثَيِ اللَّيْلِ وَنِصْفَهُ وَثُلُثَهُ وَطَائِفَةٌ مِّنَ الَّذِينَ مَعَكَ وَاللَّهُ يُقَدِّرُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ عَلِمَ أَن لَّن تُحْصُوهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاقْرَؤُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ عَلِمَ أَن سَيَكُونُ مِنكُم مَّرْضَى وَآخَرُونَ يَضْرِبُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَبْتَغُونَ مِن فَضْلِ اللَّهِ وَآخَرُونَ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَاقْرَؤُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَأَقْرِضُوا اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوا لِأَنفُسِكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍ تَجِدُوهُ عِندَ اللَّهِ هُوَ خَيْرًا وَأَعْظَمَ أَجْرًا وَاسْتَغْفِرُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

20.             Inna rabbaka yaAAlamu annaka taqoomu adna min thuluthayi allayli wanisfahu wathuluthahu wataifatun mina allatheena maAAaka waAllahu yuqaddiru allayla waalnnahara AAalima an lan tuhsoohu fataba AAalaykum faiqraoo ma tayassara mina alqurani AAalima an sayakoonu minkum marda waakharoona yadriboona fee alardi yabtaghoona min fadli Allahi waakharoona yuqatiloona fee sabeeli Allahi faiqraoo ma tayassara minhu waaqeemoo alssalata waatoo alzzakata waaqridoo Allaha qardan hasanan wama tuqaddimoo lianfusikum min khayrin tajidoohu AAinda Allahi huwa khayran waaAAthama ajran waistaghfiroo Allaha inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), your Râbb Knows that sometime you keep standing in prayer approximately two-third (2/3rd) of the night and sometime half (1/2) night and sometime one-third (1/3rd) of the night, and from among your companions -- one group also does the same thing.  Allâh Alone keeps the record of the timings of the night and the day, HE Knows that you people cannot compute the accurate timings, therefore HE has shown kindness to you, now (you should) read as much of Al-Qur'ân as you can easily (read).  HE Knows that there will be some sick people among you, some other people who travel to seek the Bounty of Allâh and some other people who fight in the Path of Allâh.  Therefore, read as much of Al-Qur'ân as you can easily read, establish prayer (Salât), pay the poor-dues (Zakât) and keep lending good loan to Allâh.  Whatever good deeds you will send forth for yourselves, you will find it with Allâh that is the best and its reward is countless.  Keep seeking Forgiveness of Allâh no doubt Allâh is Most Forgiving and Merciful.  (R) 14

 

“Al-Muddaththir - The Hidden Secret/The Shrouded One” – (Makki 74th Sűrah)

 

Total Verses: 56

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُدَّثِّرُ

1.                Ya ayyuha almuddaththiru
O (you, Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) who is resting covered in garment (Muddaththir, one of the nicknames of Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam),

قُمْ فَأَنذِرْ

2.                Qum faanthir
Stand up and warn.

وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ

3.                Warabbaka fakabbir
And proclaim the Glory of your Râbb (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala).

وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرْ

4.                Wathiyabaka fatahhir
And keep your garments pure (clean from filth).

وَالرُّجْزَ فَاهْجُرْ

5.                Waalrrujza faohjur
And keep away from filth (Ar-Rujz).

وَلَا تَمْنُن تَسْتَكْثِرُ

6.                Wala tamnun tastakthiru
And do not do favors to gain more.

وَلِرَبِّكَ فَاصْبِرْ

7.                Walirabbika faisbir
And be patient for the sake of your Râbb.

فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِي النَّاقُورِ

8.                Faitha nuqira fee alnnaqoori
Well, when the Trumpet will be blown,

فَذَلِكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَوْمٌ عَسِيرٌ

9.                Fathalika yawmaithin yawmun AAaseerun
That Day will be a very hard Day,

عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ غَيْرُ يَسِيرٍ

10.             Aala alkafireena ghayru yaseerin
(It) Will not be an easy (day) for the infidels (Kafir).

ذَرْنِي وَمَنْ خَلَقْتُ وَحِيدًا

11.             Tharnee waman khalaqtu waheedan
Leave ME and that person -- whom I created alone,

وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُ مَالًا مَّمْدُودًا

12.             WajaAAaltu lahu malan mamdoodan
(I) Gave him wealth in abundance,

وَبَنِينَ شُهُودًا

13.             Wabaneena shuhoodan
(I) Gave sons to be present by his side,

وَمَهَّدتُّ لَهُ تَمْهِيدًا

14.             Wamahhadtu lahu tamheedan
And for him smoothed the way to (gain) power,

ثُمَّ يَطْمَعُ أَنْ أَزِيدَ

15.             Thumma yatmaAAu an azeeda
Then he has greed that I should give him more.

كَلَّا إِنَّهُ كَانَ لِآيَاتِنَا عَنِيدًا

16.             Kalla innahu kana liayatina AAaneedan
Absolutely not, he has hostility with OUR Revelation (Ayât).

سَأُرْهِقُهُ صَعُودًا

17.             Saorhiquhu saAAoodan
Soon I shall make him to climb a difficult mounting (As-­Sa'űd).

إِنَّهُ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ

18.             Innahu fakkara waqaddara
He thought and tried to fabricate an excuse.

فَقُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ

19.             Faqutila kayfa qaddara
So the Curse of Allâh is on him, how he tried to fabricate an excuse.

ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ

20.             Thumma qutila kayfa qaddara
Yes, the Wrath of Allâh is on him, how he tried to fabricate an excuse.

ثُمَّ نَظَرَ

21.             Thumma nathara
Then looked (toward the people).

ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ

22.             Thumma AAabasa wabasara
Then he frowned and gave a dirty look.

ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ وَاسْتَكْبَرَ

23.             Thumma adbara waistakbara
Then (he) turned back and became arrogant.

فَقَالَ إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ يُؤْثَرُ

24.             Faqala in hatha illa sihrun yutharu
Finally (he) spoke out: "This is nothing but a magic which is coming from former times,

إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا قَوْلُ الْبَشَرِ

25.             In hatha illa qawlu albashari
This is a word of human".

سَأُصْلِيهِ سَقَرَ

26.             Saosleehi saqara
Soon I shall throw him into the Hell-fire.

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سَقَرُ

27.             Wama adraka ma saqaru
And what do you know -- what that Hell-fire is?

لَا تُبْقِي وَلَا تَذَرُ

28.             La tubqee wala tatharu
It leaves nothing and spares none.

لَوَّاحَةٌ لِّلْبَشَرِ

29.             Lawwahatun lilbashari
It is that burns the skin.

عَلَيْهَا تِسْعَةَ عَشَرَ

30.             AAalayha tisAAata AAashara
Nineteen workers are appointed over it
--

وَمَا جَعَلْنَا أَصْحَابَ النَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَائِكَةً وَمَا جَعَلْنَا عِدَّتَهُمْ إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِيَسْتَيْقِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ وَيَزْدَادَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِيمَانًا وَلَا يَرْتَابَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَلِيَقُولَ الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ وَالْكَافِرُونَ مَاذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِهَذَا مَثَلًا كَذَلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللَّهُ مَن يَشَاء وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاء وَمَا يَعْلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَمَا هِيَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَى لِلْبَشَرِ

31.             Wama jaAAalna ashaba alnnari illa malaikatan wama jaAAalna AAiddatahum illa fitnatan lillatheena kafaroo liyastayqina allatheena ootoo alkitaba wayazdada allatheena amanoo eemanan wala yartaba allatheena ootoo alkitaba waalmuminoona waliyaqoola allatheena fee quloobihim maradun waalkafiroona matha arada Allahu bihatha mathalan kathalika yudillu Allahu man yashao wayahdee man yashao wama yaAAlamu junooda rabbika illa huwa wama hiya illa thikra lilbashari
WE have made angels the worker of the Hell-Fire, and (WE) made their number a mischief for the infidels (Kafir), so that the people of the Book should believe and increase the Faith of those who brought Faith, and the people of the Book and the believers should not remain in doubts, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy, sick of heart) and the infidels (Kafir) may say: "What Allâh intends by this strange thing".  This is how Allâh leads astray whom HE Wills and guides whom HE Wills.  And no one knows about the armies of your Râbb except (HE) HIMSELF--and the mentioning of this Hell is not done for any other reason except that the people take an advice from it.  (R) 15

كَلَّا وَالْقَمَرِ

32.             Kalla waalqamari
Absolutely no
t, by the moon,

وَاللَّيْلِ إِذْ أَدْبَرَ

33.             Waallayli ith adbara
And by the night when it overturns,

 

وَالصُّبْحِ إِذَا أَسْفَرَ

34.             Waalssubhi itha asfara
And by the dawn when it becomes bright,

إِنَّهَا لَإِحْدَى الْكُبَرِ

35.             Innaha laihda alkubari
This Hell is one of the gigantic things.

نَذِيرًا لِّلْبَشَرِ

36.             Natheeran lilbashari
A warning (alarming) to mankind,

لِمَن شَاء مِنكُمْ أَن يَتَقَدَّمَ أَوْ يَتَأَخَّرَ

37.             Liman shaa minkum an yataqaddama aw yataakhkhara
A warning for every such person from among you who wants to advance or desires to remain behind. 

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ رَهِينَةٌ

38.             Kullu nafsin bima kasabat raheenatun
Every person has been pledged against his/her own deeds,

إِلَّا أَصْحَابَ الْيَمِينِ

39.             Illa ashaba alyameeni
Except the people of the Right Hand.

فِي جَنَّاتٍ يَتَسَاءلُونَ

40.             Fee jannatin yatasaaloona
Who will be in the Gardens.  They will ask from the

عَنِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ

41.             AAani almujrimeena
Criminals (Al-Mujriműn):

مَا سَلَكَكُمْ فِي سَقَرَ

42.             Ma salakakum fee saqara
“What took you to Hell?"

قَالُوا لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ الْمُصَلِّينَ

43.             Qaloo lam naku mina almusalleena
They will say: "We were not from among those who used to establish prayer (Salât)

وَلَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ الْمِسْكِينَ

44.             Walam naku nutAAimu almiskeena
And nor (we) used to feed the poor/needy (Al-Miskîn),

وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ الْخَائِضِينَ

45.             Wakunna nakhoodu maAAa alkhaideena
And we used to fabricate; joining with those people who fabricated against Truth,

وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ

46.             Wakunna nukaththibu biyawmi alddeeni
And (we) used to belie the Day of Recompense,

حَتَّى أَتَانَا الْيَقِينُ

47.             Hatta atana alyaqeenu
Until we encountered with the thing of certainty."

فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمْ شَفَاعَةُ الشَّافِعِينَ

48.             Fama tanfaAAuhum shafaAAatu alshshafiAAeena
At that time, no intercession of intercessors will avail anything to them.

فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ التَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَ

49.             Fama lahum AAani alttathkirati muAArideena
After all what has happened to these people that they are turning away from this advice,

كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُّسْتَنفِرَةٌ

50.             Kaannahum humurun mustanfiratun
As if they are wild donkeys --

فَرَّتْ مِن قَسْوَرَةٍ

51.             Farrat min qaswaratin
Who are running away fearing from a lion.

بَلْ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُؤْتَى صُحُفًا مُّنَشَّرَةً

52.             Bal yureedu kullu imriin minhum an yuta suhufan munashsharatan
But everyone from among them desires that an open letter should be sent at his/her name.

كَلَّا بَل لَا يَخَافُونَ الْآخِرَةَ

53.             Kalla bal la yakhafoona alakhirata
Absolutely not, the fact is that they do not have fear of Hereafter.

كَلَّا إِنَّهُ تَذْكِرَةٌ

54.             Kalla innahu tathkiratun
Absolutely not, this (Al-Qur'ân) is an advice,

فَمَن شَاء ذَكَرَهُ

55.             Faman shaa thakarahu
Now whosoever desires should learn lesson from it.

وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّا أَن يَشَاء اللَّهُ هُوَ أَهْلُ التَّقْوَى وَأَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ

56.            Wama yathkuroona illa an yashaa Allahu huwa ahlu alttaqwa waahlu almaghfirati
And they will not learn any lesson unless Allâh wants so.  HE is Worthy of this that HE should be feared and HE is Worthy of it that (those who fear HIM) forgives them.  (R) 16

 

“Al-Qiyâmah – The Resurrection/The Rising of the Deads” – (Makki 75th Sűrah)

 

Total Verses: 40

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

لَا أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ

1.                La oqsimu biyawmi alqiyamati
No (Absolutely not), I swear By the Day of Resurrection,

وَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالنَّفْسِ اللَّوَّامَةِ

2.                Wala oqsimu bialnnafsi allawwamati
And No (Absolutely not), I swear By the regretting (inner) soul,

أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنسَانُ أَلَّن نَجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُ

3.                Ayahsabu alinsanu allan najmaAAa AAithamahu
Is mankind thinking that WE shall not be able to assemble his/her bones?

بَلَى قَادِرِينَ عَلَى أَن نُّسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُ

4.                Bala qadireena AAala an nusawwiya bananahu
Why not?  WE have the power to put together even the tips of his/her fingers in perfect order.

بَلْ يُرِيدُ الْإِنسَانُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُ

5.                Bal yureedu alinsanu liyafjura amamahu
But human desires to keep committing sins in the future as well.

يَسْأَلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ

6.                Yasalu ayyana yawmu alqiyamati
(He/she) Asks: "After all when the Day of Resurrection is going to come?"

فَإِذَا بَرِقَ الْبَصَرُ

7.                 Faitha bariqa albasaru
And when the sight shall be puzzled

وَخَسَفَ الْقَمَرُ

8.                Wakhasafa alqamaru
And the moon will be darkened (without light),

وَجُمِعَ الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ

9.                WajumiAAa alshshamsu waalqamaru
And the moon and the sun will be joined together

يَقُولُ الْإِنسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ الْمَفَرُّ

10.             Yaqoolu alinsanu yawmaithin ayna almafarru
At that time the same human will say: "Where should I run away?"

كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ

11.             Kalla la wazara
Absolutely not, there will be no hiding place (place of refuge),

إِلَى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمُسْتَقَرُّ

12.             Ila rabbika yawmaithin almustaqarru
That Day only the place to go will be before your Râbb.

يُنَبَّأُ الْإِنسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ

13.             Yunabbao alinsanu yawmaithin bima qaddama waakhkhara
That Day human will be informed about all his/her former and subsequent deeds.

بَلِ الْإِنسَانُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ بَصِيرَةٌ

14.             Bali alinsanu AAala nafsihi baseeratun
But human knows himself/herself a lot better

وَلَوْ أَلْقَى مَعَاذِيرَهُ

15.             Walaw alqa maAAatheerahu
Even he/she brings many excuses
--

لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ

16.             La tuharrik bihi lisanaka litaAAjala bihi
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), do not move your tongue to memorize this Revelation quickly,

إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ وَقُرْآنَهُ

17.             Inna AAalayna jamAAahu waquranahu
It is OUR responsibility to get it memorized and make you to read it,

فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَاهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْآنَهُ

18.             Faitha qaranahu faittabiAA quranahu
Therefore, when WE are reciting it you carefully keep listening its recital.

ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُ

19.             Thumma inna AAalayna bayanahu
Then it is also OUR responsibility to explain (make to understand) its meanings
-

كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ الْعَاجِلَةَ

20.             Kalla bal tuhibboona alAAajilata
--Absolutely not, the fact is that you people have a love for fast attainable things (this world),

وَتَذَرُونَ الْآخِرَةَ

21.             Watatharoona alakhirata
And neglect the Hereafter.

وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ

22.             Wujoohun yawmaithin nadiratun
That Day some faces shall be fresh and shining (Nâdirah),

إِلَى رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ

23.             Ila rabbiha nathiratun
Will be looking toward their Râbb (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala).

وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ بَاسِرَةٌ

24.             Wawujoohun yawmaithin basiratun
And some faces will be gloomy (Bâsirah)

تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ

25.             Tathunnu an yufAAala biha faqiratun
And (they) will be thinking that they are going to be treated harshly.

كَلَّا إِذَا بَلَغَتْ التَّرَاقِيَ

26.             Kalla itha balaghati alttaraqiya
Absolutely not, when the soul will reach to throat,

وَقِيلَ مَنْ رَاقٍ

27.             Waqeela man raqin
And it will be said: "Is there any magician?"

وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ الْفِرَاقُ

28.             Wathanna annahu alfiraqu
And the person will know that it is a time to depart from the world,

وَالْتَفَّتِ السَّاقُ بِالسَّاقِ

29.             Wailtaffati alssaqu bialssaqi
And shin will be joined with the shin,

إِلَى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمَسَاقُ

30.             Ila rabbika yawmaithin almasaqu
That will be the Day to depart toward your Râbb (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala).  (R) 17

فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّى

31.             Fala saddaqa wala salla
But he/she neither consider it true and nor establish Prayer (Salât), 

وَلَكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّى

32.             Walakin kaththaba watawalla
But (he/she) denied and turned away,

ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ يَتَمَطَّى

33.             Thumma thahaba ila ahlihi yatamatta
Then in arrogance (he/she) walked to his/her family.

أَوْلَى لَكَ فَأَوْلَى

34.             Awla laka faawla
This behavior is suitable for you and (it) only suites you.

ثُمَّ أَوْلَى لَكَ فَأَوْلَى

35.             Thumma awla laka faawla
Yes, this behavior is suitable for you and it only suites you.

أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنسَانُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى

36.             Ayahsabu alinsanu an yutraka sudan
Does human think that he/she will be left without any purpose (Suda)?

أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِيٍّ يُمْنَى

37.             Alam yaku nutfatan min manayyin yumna
Was he/she not a drop of inferior water (Nutfah) which is being discharged (in mother’s womb)?

ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّى

38.             Thumma kana AAalaqatan fakhalaqa fasawwa
Then he/she became a blood clot ('Alaqa), then Allâh shaped his/her body and fashioned him/her in due proportion,

فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ الزَّوْجَيْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَى

39.             FajaAAala minhu alzzawjayni alththakara waalontha
Then from it (HE) created two kinds, male and female.

أَلَيْسَ ذَلِكَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَى أَن يُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتَى

40.             Alaysa thalika biqadirin AAala an yuhyiya almawta
Is HE not then has the power to resurrect the dead?  (R) 18

 

“Al-Insân/Ad-Dahr - The Human” – (Madanni 76th Sűrah)

 

Total Verses: 31

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

هَلْ أَتَى عَلَى الْإِنسَانِ حِينٌ مِّنَ الدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْئًا مَّذْكُورًا

1.                Hal ata AAala alinsani heenun mina alddahri lam yakun shayan mathkooran Hal ata AAala alinsani heenun mina alddahri lam yakun shayan mathkooran
Has there also passed such a period of endless time over human when he/she was not a thing of worth to be mentioned?

إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَاهُ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا

2.               Inna khalaqna alinsana min nutfatin amshajin nabtaleehi fajaAAalnahu sameeAAan baseeran
WE created human from a drop of mixed semen (Nutfah) so that (WE) test him/her and for this reason WE made him/her capable of hearing and seeing.

إِنَّا هَدَيْنَاهُ السَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا

3.                Inna hadaynahu alssabeela imma shakiran waimma kafooran
WE showed him/her Path; either (he/she) becomes grateful or ungrateful
.

إِنَّا أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَافِرِينَ سَلَاسِلَا وَأَغْلَالًا وَسَعِيرًا

4.                Inna aAAtadna lilkafireena salasila waaghlalan wasaAAeeran
WE have prepared (iron) chains, collar, and blazing Fire for those who commit infidelity (Kufr).

إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا

5.                Inna alabrara yashraboona min kasin kana mizajuha kafooran
The pious people (Abrâr) will drink cups of such wine (in
Paradise) which will be mixed with camphor water (from a spring in Paradise called Kâfűr),

عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ اللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًا

6.                AAaynan yashrabu biha AAibadu Allahi yufajjiroonaha tafjeeran
It will be a gushing spring with the water of which the devotees of Allâh will drink wine and will easily branch out its channels wherever they want.

يُوفُونَ بِالنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًا كَانَ شَرُّهُ مُسْتَطِيرًا

7.                Yoofoona bialnnathri wayakhafoona yawman kana sharruhu mustateeran
These will be those people who fulfill their promises (in the world), and fear the Day whose evil will be spreading every where,

وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ عَلَى حُبِّهِ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا

8.                WayutAAimona alttaAAama AAala hubbihi miskeenan wayateeman waaseeran
And in the Love of Allâh (they) feed the poor/needy (Miskîn) and the orphan and the captive,

إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَاء وَلَا شُكُورًا

9.                Innama nutAAimukum liwajhi Allahi la nureedu minkum jazaan wala shukooran
(And they say to them): "We are feeding you only for the sake of Allâh we neither want any reward nor any thanks from you.

إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًا قَمْطَرِيرًا

10.            Inna nakhafu min rabbina yawman AAaboosan qamtareeran
We fear our Râbb from the torment of the Day that will be a long day of severe misery.”

فَوَقَاهُمُ اللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّاهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا

11.            Fawaqahumu Allahu sharra thalika alyawmi walaqqahum nadratan wasurooran
Thus Allâh will save them from the misery of that Day and will give them freshness and tranquility (Nadratan).

وَجَزَاهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا جَنَّةً وَحَرِيرًا

12.            Wajazahum bima sabaroo jannatan wahareeran
And will give them
Paradise and silky garments as reward for their patience.

مُتَّكِئِينَ فِيهَا عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًا

13.             Muttakieena feeha AAala alaraiki la yarawna feeha shamsan wala zamhareeran
There they will be resting on the raised thrones.  Neither heat of sun will trouble them nor the cold of winter.

وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَالُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلًا

14.             Wadaniyatan AAalayhim thilaluha wathullilat qutoofuha tathleelan
The shadow of
Paradise will be covering them with shade, and its fruits will be in their reach all the time (could pluck as they desire).

وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِآنِيَةٍ مِّن فِضَّةٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا

15.             Wayutafu AAalayhim bianiyatin min fiddatin waakwabin kanat qawareera
The utensil of silver and crystal bowls shall be circulating among them,

قَوَارِيرَ مِن فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًا

16.             Qawareera min fiddatin qaddarooha taqdeeran
The crystal that will be made of silver and (the attendants of
Paradise) will have filled these in accurate measure.

وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا

17.              Wayusqawna feeha kasan kana mizajuha zanjabeelan
They will be served drinks of such wine in which there will be a mixture of ginger (Zanjabîl),

عَيْنًا فِيهَا تُسَمَّى سَلْسَبِيلًا

18.             AAaynan feeha tusamma salsabeelan
It will be a spring of Paradise that is called Salsabîl.

وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَّنثُورًا

19.             Wayatoofu AAalayhim wildanun mukhalladoona itha raaytahum hasibtahum luluan manthooran
Such boys will be running around to serve them who will remain boys forever.  If you see them, you would consider them pearls that have been scattered.

وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًا وَمُلْكًا كَبِيرًا

20.             Waitha raayta thamma raayta naAAeeman wamulkan kabeeran
There, whichever direction you will look you will see blessing and delight of a great sovereignty.

عَالِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْرٌ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌ وَحُلُّوا أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٍ وَسَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًا طَهُورًا

21.             AAaliyahum thiyabu sundusin khudrun waistabraqun wahulloo asawira min fiddatin wasaqahum rabbuhum sharaban tahooran
They will be wearing the garments of fine green silk, they will be offered to wear silver bracelets, and their Râbb will gave them pure wine to drink.

إِنَّ هَذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَاء وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا

22.             Inna hatha kana lakum jazaan wakana saAAyukum mashkooran
This is your reward and your efforts have been acknowledged.  (R) 19

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ تَنزِيلًا

23.             Inna nahnu nazzalna AAalayka alqurana tanzeelan
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), WE have Revealed this Al-Qur'ân gradually to you

فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ آثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًا

24.             Faisbir lihukmi rabbika wala tutiAA minhum athiman aw kafooran
Therefore be patient on the command of your Râbb, and do not agree to the word of any wicked or disbelieving person from among them.

وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا

25.             Waothkuri isma rabbika bukratan waaseelan
Glorify the Name of your Râbb morning and evening,

وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَاسْجُدْ لَهُ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا

26.             Wamina allayli faosjud lahu wasabbihhu laylan taweelan
Also, prostrate before HIM at night, and keep Praising HIM during the long hours of night.

إِنَّ هَؤُلَاء يُحِبُّونَ الْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَاءهُمْ يَوْمًا ثَقِيلًا

27.             Inna haolai yuhibboona alAAajilata wayatharoona waraahum yawman thaqeelan
These people love the quickly achievable thing (this world) and ignore the hard day that is going to come ahead.

نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَا أَسْرَهُمْ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَا أَمْثَالَهُمْ تَبْدِيلًا

28.             Nahnu khalaqnahum washadadna asrahum waitha shina baddalna amthalahum tabdeelan
WE Alone have created them and have made their joints strong, and whenever WE Want (WE) should deform their figures

إِنَّ هَذِهِ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَن شَاء اتَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ سَبِيلًا

29.             Inna hathihi tathkiratun faman shaa ittakhatha ila rabbihi sabeelan
This (Al-Qur'ân) is an advice/warning, now whosoever wants (he/she) should embrace the Path -- leading to his/her Râbb (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala).

وَمَا تَشَاؤُونَ إِلَّا أَن يَشَاء اللَّهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا

30.             Wama tashaoona illa an yashaa Allahu inna Allaha kana AAaleeman hakeeman
And your wishing is nothing until Allâh Wills.  Certainly Allâh is All-Knowing and All-Wise,

يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَاء فِي رَحْمَتِهِ وَالظَّالِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا

31.            Yudkhilu man yashao fee rahmatihi waalththalimeena aAAadda lahum AAathaban aleeman
(HE) Admits into HIS Mercy whomsoever HE Wills, and HE has prepared a painful torment for the cruel people (Zâliműn).  (R) 20

 

“Al-Mursalât – The Dispatched/The Representatives” – (Makki 77th Sűrah)

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا

1.                Waalmursalati AAurfan
By those (winds) which are sent forth one after another.

فَالْعَاصِفَاتِ عَصْفًا

2.                 FaalAAasifati AAasfan
Then travel with the speed of tornado,

وَالنَّاشِرَاتِ نَشْرًا

3.                Waalnnashirati nashran
And carry (the clouds) and spread them,

فَالْفَارِقَاتِ فَرْقًا

4.                 Faalfariqati farqan
Then tear (them) apart,

فَالْمُلْقِيَاتِ ذِكْرًا

5.                 Faalmulqiyati thikran
Then inculcate the remembrance (of Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala, in the hearts)

عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا

6.                 AAuthran aw nuthran
As an excuse or as a warning,

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَاقِعٌ

7.                 Innama tooAAadoona lawaqiAAun
A thing, which is being promised to you, that is surely going to occur.

فَإِذَا النُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ

8.                 Faitha alnnujoomu tumisat
Then when the stars will become dim;

وَإِذَا السَّمَاء فُرِجَتْ

9.                 Waitha alssamao furijat
And the sky will be shredded,

وَإِذَا الْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ

10.             Waitha aljibalu nusifat
And the mountains will be disintegrated,

وَإِذَا الرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ

11.             Waitha alrrusulu oqqitat
And the time of the appearance/presence of the Rasools will come (that day this thing will happen),

لِأَيِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ

12.             Liayyi yawmin ojjilat
For what Day this task has been postponed?

لِيَوْمِ الْفَصْلِ

13.             Liyawmi alfasli
For the Day of Decision/Judgment.

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ

14.             Wama adraka ma yawmu alfasli
And what do you know that what the Day of Decision/Judgment is?

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

15.             Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena
That Day there is destruction for those who denied.

أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ الْأَوَّلِينَ

16.             Alam nuhliki alawwaleena
Did WE not destroy the earlier (people)?

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ الْآخِرِينَ

17.             Thumma nutbiAAuhumu alakhireena
Then WE shall make the later generations to follow them (the earlier).

كَذَلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ

18.             Kathalika nafAAalu bialmujrimeena
WE deal with the criminals (Mujriműn) in this way.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

19.             Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena
That Day there is destruction for those who denied.

أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّاء مَّهِينٍ

20.             Alam nakhluqkum min main maheenin
Have WE not created you from inferior water

فَجَعَلْنَاهُ فِي قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ

21.             FajaAAalnahu fee qararin makeenin
And kept it implanted in a secure place

إِلَى قَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ

22.             Ila qadarin maAAloomin
For a fixed term?

فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ الْقَادِرُونَ

23.             Faqadarna faniAAma alqadiroona
Then Look, WE have power to do so, thus WE have an excellent Power.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

24.             Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena
That Day there is destruction for those who denied.

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا

25.             Alam najAAali alarda kifatan
Have WE not made the earth a place for safekeeping,

أَحْيَاء وَأَمْوَاتًا

26.             Ahyaan waamwatan
For the living as well as for the dead,

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ شَامِخَاتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَاكُم مَّاء فُرَاتًا

27.             WajaAAalna feeha rawasiya shamikhatin waasqaynakum maan furatan
And placed high and tall mountains in it, and (WE have) given you sweet water to drink?

وَيْلٌ يوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

28.             Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena
That Day there is destruction for those who denied.

انطَلِقُوا إِلَى مَا كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ

29.             Intaliqoo ila ma kuntum bihi tukaththiboona
Now go toward that thing which you used to deny.

انطَلِقُوا إِلَى ظِلٍّ ذِي ثَلَاثِ شُعَبٍ

30.             Intaliqoo ila thillin thee thalathi shuAAabin
Go to that shadow which has three branches.

لَا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنَ اللَّهَبِ

31.             La thaleelin wala yughnee mina allahabi
It neither gives coolness nor shelter against the flame of the Fire.

إِنَّهَا تَرْمِي بِشَرَرٍ كَالْقَصْرِ

32.             Innaha tarmee bishararin kaalqasri
That Fire (Hell) will throw sparks as huge as castles (Al-Qasr), (while bouncing which will appear to be)

كَأَنَّهُ جِمَالَتٌ صُفْرٌ

33.             Kaannahu jimalatun sufrun
As if they are yellow camels (Jimâlatun Sufr).

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

34.             Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena
That Day there is destruction for those who denied.

هَذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ

35.             Hatha yawmu la yantiqoona
This is the Day when they will not speak anything

وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ

36.             Wala yuthanu lahum fayaAAtathiroona
And nor they will be given a chance to present an excuse.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

37.             Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena
That Day there is destruction for those who denied.

هَذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ جَمَعْنَاكُمْ وَالْأَوَّلِينَ

38.             Hatha yawmu alfasli jamaAAnakum waalawwaleena
This is the Day of Decision/Judgment.  WE have assembled you and those who were gone before you.

فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ

39.             Fain kana lakum kaydun fakeedooni
Now if you can plan any plot then plan it against ME (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala).

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

40.             Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena
That Day there is destruction for those who denied.  (R) 21

إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي ظِلَالٍ وَعُيُونٍ

41.             Inna almuttaqeena fee thilalin waAAuyoonin
Today the righteous people (Muttaqűn) are among the shades and fountains

وَفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ

42.             Wafawakiha mimma yashtahoona
And whatever fruits they desire (are present for them).

كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

43.             Kuloo waishraboo haneean bima kuntum taAAmaloona
Eat and drink happily as reward for your (those) deeds, which you have been doing.

إِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنينَ

44.             Inna kathalika najzee almuhsineena
WE give such reward to the righteous people (Muhsinűn).

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

45.             Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena
That Day there is destruction for those who denied.

كُلُوا وَتَمَتَّعُوا قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ

46.             Kuloo watamattaAAoo qaleelan innakum mujrimoona
Eat and enjoy (yourselves) for a little while.  In fact, you people are criminals (Mujriműn).

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

47.             Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena
That Day there is destruction for those who denied.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ارْكَعُوا لَا يَرْكَعُونَ

48.             Waitha qeela lahumu irkaAAoo la yarkaAAoona
When it is said to them that: "Bow down (before Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) then they did not bow down”.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

49.             Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena
That Day there is destruction for those who denied.

فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَهُ يُؤْمِنُونَ

50.             Fabiayyi hadeethin baAAdahu yuminoona
