5.                AAallamahu shadeedu alquwa
The Mighty Most Powerful (Angel -- Jibrael) has taught him.

6.                Thoo mirratin faistawa
Who is very wise (Dhu Mirrah).  He came and stood in front (Fastawa)

7.                 Wahuwa bialofuqi alaAAla
When he (Jibrael) was on the highest part of the horizon,

8.                Thumma dana fatadalla
Then he (Jibrael) came closer and stayed above in the air,

9.                 Fakana qaba qawsayni aw adna
Till the distance remained of two bows' length or even lesser.

10.             Faawha ila AAabdihi ma awha
Then he (Jibrael) delivered the Revelation to the devotee of Allâh (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) whatever Revelation he had to deliver.

11.             Ma kathaba alfuadu ma raa
Whatever eyes saw, the heart did not mix lie in it.

12.             Afatumaroonahu AAala ma yara
Do you now dispute with him (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) about that thing which he sees by his own eyes?

13.             Walaqad raahu nazlatan okhra
And once again he (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) saw him (Jibrael) descending

14.             AAinda sidrati almuntaha
Near lote-tree of the utmost boundary of the heavens (Sidrat-ul-Muntaha)

15.             AAindaha jannatu almawa
Where the Gardens of restfulness (Janna-tul-M’awa) are nearby.

16.             Ith yaghsha alssidrata ma yaghsha
At that time, it was covering the lote-tree whatever was covering.

17.             Ma zagha albasaru wama tagha
The sight (of Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was neither dazzled (by the excess of light) nor crossed the limits,

18.             Laqad raa min ayati rabbihi alkubra
And he (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) saw splendid signs of his Râbb.

19.             Afaraaytumu allata waalAAuzza
Now just tell, have you ever ponder on the reality of the Al-Lât, and the Al-'Uzza (names of two idols),

20.             Wamanata alththalithata alokhra
And the third idol Manât?

21.             Alakumu alththakaru walahu alontha
Are the sons for you and daughters for Allâh?

22.             Tilka ithan qismatun deeza
Then it is a very unjust division!

23.             In hiya illa asmaon sammaytumooha antum waabaokum ma anzala Allahu biha min sultanin in yattabiAAoona illa alththanna wama tahwa alanfusu walaqad jaahum min rabbihimu alhuda
In fact, they are nothing except a few names which you and your forefathers have named (invented).  Allâh has not sent down any authority for them.  The fact is that the people are only following their own thoughts and assumptions and have become the servants of their own desires.  Whereas guidance has come to them from their Râbb.

24.             Am lilinsani ma tamanna
Is it that whatever man wants that is the truth for him/her?

25.             Falillahi alakhiratu waaloola
Allâh Alone is the Owner of the Universe and Hereafter.  (R) 5

26.             Wakam min malakin fee alssamawati la tughnee shafaAAatuhum shayan illa min baAAdi an yathana Allahu liman yashao wayarda
How many angels are present in the skies, their intercession cannot avail anything until Allâh permits it in favor of such person for whom HE wants to listen any supplication and likes it.

27.             Inna allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati layusammoona almalaikata tasmiyata alontha
But those people who do not believe in the Hereafter, they associate angels with goddesses’ names,

28.             Wama lahum bihi min AAilmin in yattabiAAoona illa alththanna wainna alththanna la yughnee mina alhaqqi shayan
Whereas they do not have any knowledge of this matter, they are only following assumption, and assumption cannot be substituted for the truth.

29.             FaaAArid AAan man tawalla AAan thikrina walam yurid illa alhayata alddunya
Therefore, O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), whosoever turns away from OUR remembrance, and who does not desire anything else except this worldly life, leave him/her alone--

30.             Thalika mablaghuhum mina alAAilmi inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu biman dalla AAan sabeelihi wahuwa aAAlamu bimani ihtada
This is the only scholarly knowledge of these people, your Râbb Alone knows this thing better that who has gone astray from HIS Path and who is on the Straight Path,

31.             Walillahi ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi liyajziya allatheena asaoo bima AAamiloo wayajziya allatheena ahsanoo bialhusna
And Allâh  is the Owner of all that what is in the earth and in the skies
--so that Allâh  recompense the wrong doers for their misdeeds and give good reward to those who have adopted the righteous attitude,

32.             Allatheena yajtaniboona kabaira alithmi waalfawahisha illa allamama inna rabbaka wasiAAu almaghfirati huwa aAAlamu bikum ith anshaakum mina alardi waith antum ajinnatun fee butooni ommahatikum fala tuzakkoo anfusakum huwa aAAlamu bimani ittaqa
Those who avoid big sins and open indecencies (Al-Fawâhish), except that they commit some mistakes.  No doubt, your Râbb is very generous in forgiveness.  HE knows you very well since HE created you from the earth and when you were still as fetuses in the wombs of your mothers.  Therefore, do not claim the purity of yourselves; HE knows best who is pious (Al-Muttaqûn).  (R) 6

33.             Afaraayta allathee tawalla
Then O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), have you seen that person who turned away from the Path of Allâh

34.             WaaAAta qaleelan waakda
And stopped after giving a very little?

35.              aAAindahu AAilmu alghaybi fahuwa yara
Does he posses the knowledge of unseen that he is seeing the reality?

36.             Am lam yunabba bima fee suhufi moosa
Has he not received any news of those things which are narrated in the Scripture of Mûsa,

37.             Waibraheema allathee waffa
And the Scripture of Ibrâhim who fulfilled the right of faithfulness?

38.              Alla taziru waziratun wizra okhra
“That no barer of burden will carry the burden of another,

39.             Waan laysa lilinsani illa ma saAAa
And that there is nothing for a mankind except for which he/she has struggled,

40.             Waanna saAAyahu sawfa yura
And that soon his/her struggle will be seen

41.             Thumma yujzahu aljazaa alawfa
Then he/she will be recompensed in full for it,

42.             Waanna ila rabbika almuntaha
And that finally (all) have to return to your Râbb.

43.             Waannahu huwa adhaka waabka
And that HE made to laugh and to cry

44.             Waannahu huwa amata waahya
And that HE gave death and HE granted life,

45.             Waannahu khalaqa alzzawjayni alththakara waalontha
And that HE created pairs of male and female

46.             Min nutfatin itha tumna
From a drop (of water, Nutfah) when it is discharged,

47.             Waanna AAalayhi alnnashata alokhra
And that to give another life is with HIM,

48.             Waannahu huwa aghna waaqna
And that HE made generous and given the properties,

49.             Waannahu huwa rabbu alshshiAAra
And that HE is the Râbb of Sirius (dog star whom pagan used to worship),

50.             Waannahu ahlaka AAadan aloola
And that HE destroyed the former 'Ad (people),

51.             Wathamooda fama abqa
And demolished Thamûd in such a way sparing none among them,

52.             Waqawma noohin min qablu innahum kanoo hum athlama waatgha
And before them destroyed the nation of Nûh because they were cruel and rebellious people,

53.             Waalmutafikata ahwa
And threw away the overturned towns,

54.             Faghashshaha ma ghashsha
Then prevailed over them that which (you already know) what prevailed.

55.             Fabiayyi alai rabbika tatamara
Therefore O mankind, which of the Blessings of your Râbb will you then doubt?”

There is none that can avert it except Allâh.

Bow down before Allâh and become HIS devotees. (R) 7

“Al-Qamar - The Moon” – (Makki 54th Surah</A.)

Total Verses: 55

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

1.                Iqtarabati alssaAAatu wainshaqqa alqamaru
The Hour of Doom came closer and the moon divided (in half).

2.                Wain yaraw ayatan yuAAridoo wayaqooloo sihrun mustamirrun
But this is the condition of these people that no matter what sign they may see they turn away their faces and say: "This is a running magic."

3.                Wakaththaboo waittabaAAoo ahwaahum wakullu amrin mustaqirrun
They denied (it as well) and followed their own lust.  Finally, every matter has to reach to its end.

4.                 Walaqad jaahum mina alanbai ma feehi muzdajarun
The history (of the previous people) has come before these people in which there is enough warning (to learn a lesson) to restrain them from rebellion

5.                Hikmatun balighatun fama tughnee alnnuthuru
And such wisdom which completely fulfills the purpose of warning.  But the warnings are not effective on them.

6.                Fatawalla AAanhum yawma yadAAu alddaAAi ila shayin nukurin
Therefore, O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) turn away from them.  The Day when the caller will call towards a most unpleasant thing,

7.                KhushshaAAan absaruhum yakhrujoona mina alajdathi kaannahum jaradun muntashirun
The people with fearful eyes will come out from their graves as if they are scattered bones.

8.                MuhtiAAeena ila alddaAAi yaqoolu alkafiroona hatha yawmun AAasirun
They will be rushing towards the caller and at that time the same deniers (who used to deny it in the world) will say: "This Day is very hard."

9.                Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin fakaththaboo AAabdana waqaloo majnoonun waizdujira
Before them the people of Nûh has denied.  They declared OUR devotee a liar and said that he is an unwise, and he was badly blamed.

10.             FadaAAa rabbahu annee maghloobun faintasir
Finally, he called his Râbb (saying): "I have been overcome, now YOU take revenge from them."

11.             Fafatahna abwaba alssamai bimain munhamirin
Then WE opened the gates of sky with stormy rain.

12.             Wafajjarna alarda AAuyoonan failtaqa almao AAala amrin qad qudira
And caused the earth to burst with gushing springs, and all this water joined to fulfill that task which was predestined,

13.             Wahamalnahu AAala thati alwahin wadusurin
And WE made Nûh to embark on a thing (boat – that was) built with wood and nails,

14.            Tajree biaAAyunina jazaan liman kana kufira
That was sailing under OUR Supervision.  This was the recompense for that person who had been ignored.

15.             Walaqad taraknaha ayatan fahal min muddakirin
WE left that boat/ark as a sign, then -- is there anyone to take the advice?

16.             Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri
Look!  How was MY Torment and how were MY Warnings?

17.             Walaqad yassarna alqurana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin
WE have made this Al-
Qur'ân easy way for an advice then -- is there anyone to take the advice?

18.             Kaththabat AAadun fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri
(The people of) 'Ad rejected then see how MY Torment was and how were MY Warnings.

19.             Inna arsalna AAalayhim reehan sarsaran fee yawmi nahsin mustamirrin
WE sent a furious tornado on them on a day of continuous disaster.

20.             TanziAAu alnnasa kaannahum aAAjazu nakhlin munqaAAirin
Which was throwing away people as if they are uprooted stems of date-palm trees.

21.             Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri
So just see, how was MY Torment and how were MY Warnings?

22.             Walaqad yassarna alqurana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin
WE have made this Al-Qur'ân easy way for an advice then -- is there anyone to take the advice?  (R) 8

23.             Kaththabat thamoodu bialnnuthuri
(The people of) Thamûd rejected the warnings

24.             Faqaloo abasharan minna wahidan nattabiAAuhu inna ithan lafee dalalin wasuAAurin
And started saying: "An alone man who is from among us, should we now follow him?  If we accept his message then it means that we shall have gone astray and our commonsense is lost."

25.             Aolqiya alththikru AAalayhi min baynina bal huwa kaththabun ashirun
Was he the only person among us on whom the Remembrance of Allâh has been Revealed?  Absolutely not, but he is a complete liar and is mistaken himself."

26.             SayaAAlamoona ghadan mani alkaththabu alashiru
(WE said to OUR Prophet) “Tomorrow they will come to know that who is a liar and is mistaken.

27.             Inna mursiloo alnnaqati fitnatan lahum fairtaqibhum waistabir
WE are sending the she-camel as a trial for them.  Now just watch with patient that what is their end-result.

28.             Wanabbihum anna almaa qismatun baynahum kullu shirbin muhtadarun
Remind them that the water will be shared between she-camel and them and each one will come to the water on ones turn.”

29.             Fanadaw sahibahum fataAAata faAAaqara
Finally, those people called their associate and he took the responsibility of this task and killed the female-camel.

30.             Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri
Then see, how was MY Torment and how were MY Warnings?

31.             Inna arsalna AAalayhim sayhatan wahidatan fakanoo kahasheemi almuhtathiri
WE only sent a single blast (Saîhah) on them and they remained/became like rejected fence of the fence builder.

32.             Walaqad yassarna alqurana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin
WE have made this Al-Qur'ân easy way for an advice; now --- is there anyone to take the advice?

33.             Kaththabat qawmu lootin bialnnuthuri
The people of Lout rejected the warnings

34.             Inna arsalna AAalayhim hasiban illa ala lootin najjaynahum bisaharin
And WE sent a storm of stones on them.  Only the family of Lout was saved from it.  WE let them go with OUR Mercy in last hour of the night.

35.             NiAAmatan min AAindina kathalika najzee man shakara
This is the reward WE give to every such person who is grateful.

36.             Walaqad antharahum batshatana fatamaraw bialnnuthuri
Lout did warn the people of his nation from OUR Grip but considering all the warnings doubtful they have been making fun of it.

37.             Walaqad rawadoohu AAan dayfihi fatamasna aAAyunahum fathooqoo AAathabee wanuthuri
Then they tried to keep him away to protect his guests.  Consequently, WE shut their eyes -- now; “Taste the flavor of MY Torment and MY Warnings”.

38.             Walaqad sabbahahum bukratan AAathabun mustaqirrun

"Now taste MY Torment and MY Warnings."

40.             Walaqad yassarna alqurana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin

41.             Walaqad jaa ala firAAawna alnnuthuru
And warnings had also come to the people of Fir'aun,

42.             Kaththaboo biayatina kulliha faakhathnahum akhtha AAazeezin muqtadirin

43.             Akuffarukum khayrun min olaikum am lakum baraatun fee alzzuburi
Are your infidels (Kafir) some how better than those people?  Or is there any immunity written for you in the Divine Scriptures?

44.             Am yaqooloona nahnu jameeAAun muntasirun
Or do these people claim: "We are a strong group, shall defend ourselves?"

45.             Sayuhzamu aljamAAu wayuwalloona alddubura
Soon this group will be defeated and they all will be seen running on their heels.

46.             Bali alssaAAatu mawAAiduhum waalssaAAatu adha waamarru
But the real promised time to deal with them is the Hour of Resurrection, and that is most grievous and bitter Hour.

47.             Inna almujrimeena fee dalalin wasuAAurin
In fact, these criminals (Mujrimûn) are involved in misunderstanding and their intelligence is lost.

48.             Yawma yushaboona fee alnnari AAala wujoohihim thooqoo massa saqara
The Day they will be dragged into the Fire on their faces down that day it will be said to them: "Now taste the flame of Hell”.

49.             Inna kulla shayin khalaqnahu biqadarin
WE have created everything with destiny (Fate/Qadar),

50.             Wama amruna illa wahidatun kalamhin bialbasari
And OUR Commandment is only one command and it is executed in the twinkling of an eye.

51.             Walaqad ahlakna ashyaAAakum fahal min muddakirin
WE have destroyed many like you, so is there anyone to embrace the advice?

52.             Wakullu shayin faAAaloohu fee alzzuburi
Whatever they have done is recorded in the registers.

53.             Wakullu sagheerin wakabeerin mustatarun
And every small or big thing is present in written form (in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz).

54.             Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatin wanaharin
(Those) Who oppose disobedience (Muttaqûn) shall certainly be in the midst of gardens and canals (
Paradise),

55.             Fee maqAAadi sidqin AAinda maleekin muqtadirin
Place of true honor, closer to the Omnipotent King.  (R) 10

4.                Huwa allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda fee sittati ayyamin thumma istawa AAala alAAarshi yaAAlamu ma yaliju fee alardi wama yakhruju minha wama yanzilu mina alssamai wama yaAAruju feeha wahuwa maAAakum ayna ma kuntum waAllahu bima taAAmaloona baseerun
HE is the One WHO created the skies and the earth in Six Days and then established (Istawâ) the Throne.  HE knows whatever goes into the earth, and whatever comes out from it, and whatever descends from the sky, and whatever ascends to it.  HE is with you wherever you may be.  Whatever thing you do HE is watching it.

HE is the One WHO causes the night to enter the day and the day into the night, and (HE) Knows even the hidden secrets of the hearts.

7.                Aminoo biAllahi warasoolihi waanfiqoo mimma jaAAalakum mustakhlafeena feehi faallatheena amanoo minkum waanfaqoo lahum ajrun kabeerun
Bring Faith in Allâh and HIS Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and spend from those things on which WE have appointed you as Caliph/trustees.  Those people from among you who will bring Faith and will spend wealth there is great reward for them.

8.                Wama lakum la tuminoona biAllahi waalrrasoolu yadAAookum lituminoo birabbikum waqad akhatha meethaqakum in kuntum mumineena
What is the matter with you that you do not bring Faith in Allâh whereas Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) is inviting you to bring Faith in your Râbb (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) and he has taken promise from you if you are the believers?

9.                Huwa allathee yunazzilu AAala AAabdihi ayatin bayyinatin liyukhrijakum mina alththulumati ila alnnoori wainna Allaha bikum laraoofun raheemun
HE is Allâh Who is revealing clear Verses (Ayât) upon HIS devotee (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) in order to bring you out from the darkness to the light and the fact is that Allâh is Very Kind and Most Loving to you.

10.            Wama lakum alla tunfiqoo fee sabeeli Allahi walillahi meerathu alssamawati waalardi la yastawee minkum man anfaqa min qabli alfathi waqatala olaika aAAthamu darajatan mina allatheena anfaqoo min baAAdu waqataloo wakullan waAAada Allahu alhusna waAllahu bima taAAmaloona khabeerun
After all what is the reason that you do not spend in the Path of Allâh whereas, the heritage of skies and the earth is for Allâh Alone.  Those of you who will spend and fight in the Path of Allâh after the victory they can never be equal to those who have spent and fought before the victory.  Their ranks are higher than those who spent and fought later,
even though Allâh has made best promises with both.  Whatever you do, Allâh is Aware of it.  (R) 17

Who is going to give a loan to Allâh?  A good loan, so that Allâh may return it by increasing manifold and there is a best reward for him/her.

12.             Yawma tara almumineena waalmuminati yasAAa nooruhum bayna aydeehim wabiaymanihim bushrakumu alyawma jannatun tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha thalika huwa alfawzu alAAatheemu
That Day when you will see the believing men and women that their light will be running/shining before them and on their right hand-sides
-- (It will be said to them that) “Today there is a good news for you”.  There will be Gardens underneath which canals will be flowing, where they will live forever.  This is the great success.

13.             Yawma yaqoolu almunafiqoona waalmunafiqatu lillatheena amanoo onthuroona naqtabis min noorikum qeela irjiAAoo waraakum failtamisoo nooran faduriba baynahum bisoorin lahu babun batinuhu feehi alrrahmatu wathahiruhu min qibalihi alAAathabu
That Day the condition of hypocrite men and women will be that they will say to the believers: "Just look toward us so that we may benefit from your light”.  But it will be said to them: "Get back (go away), seek your light from some where else”.  Then a wall will be raised between them in which there will be a gate.  There will be blessing inside that gate and misery outside of it (the gate).

14.             Yunadoonahum alam nakun maAAakum qaloo bala walakinnakum fatantum anfusakum watarabbastum wairtabtum wagharratkumu alamaniyyu hatta jaa amru Allahi wagharrakum biAllahi algharooru
They will cry and say to the believers: "Were we not with you”?  The believers will reply: "Yes, but you led yourselves into temptations, (you) were opportunist (served the time), remained in doubts, and false hopes have been cheating you, until the Command of Allâh came, and till the last moment that chief deceiver (Satan) has been deceiving you about Allâh."

15.             Faalyawma la yukhathu minkum fidyatun wala mina allatheena kafaroo mawakumu alnnaru hiya mawlakum wabisa almaseeru
Therefore today neither any ransom shall be taken from you and nor from those people who openly committed infidelity (Kufr).  Your destination is the Hell-Fire, that is going to entertain you and this is the worst end-result”.

16.             Alam yani lillatheena amanoo an takhshaAAa quloobuhum lithikri Allahi wama nazala mina alhaqqi wala yakoonoo kaallatheena ootoo alkitaba min qablu fatala AAalayhimu alamadu faqasat quloobuhum wakatheerun minhum fasiqoona
Has not that time yet come for those who brought Faith that their hearts should soften with the remembrance of Allâh and submit to the Truth Revealed by HIM and they should not become like those people whom the Scripture was given before, then the term was prolonged for them so their heart became hardened and today most of them have become criminals (Fâsiqûn)?

17.             IAAlamoo anna Allaha yuhyee alarda baAAda mawtiha qad bayyanna lakumu alayati laAAallakum taAAqiloona
Know it very well that Allâh gives life to the earth after its death, WE have shown you plain and clear Signs (Ayât), perhaps you may use commonsense.

18.               Inna almussaddiqeena waalmussaddiqati waaqradoo Allaha qardan hasanan yudaAAafu lahum walahum ajrun kareemun
From among men and women those people who give charity (Sadaqât) and who have given worthy loan to Allâh they shall surly be repaid manifold after increasing it and there is an excellent reward for them.

19.             Waallatheena amanoo biAllahi warusulihi olaika humu alssiddeeqoona waalshshuhadao AAinda rabbihim lahum ajruhum wanooruhum waallatheena kafaroo wakaththaboo biayatina olaika ashabu aljaheemi
And those people who have brought Faith in Allâh and HIS Rasools they are the ones who are Truthful (Siddiqûn) and the Martyrs/Witnesses in the Sight of their Râbb, they will have their rewards and their light and those people who have committed infidelity (Kufr) and have denied OUR Revelation (Ayât) they are the dwellers of Hell.  (R) 18

20.             IAAlamoo annama alhayatu alddunya laAAibun walahwun wazeenatun watafakhurun baynakum watakathurun fee alamwali waalawladi kamathali ghaythin aAAjaba alkuffara nabatuhu thumma yaheeju fatarahu musfarran thumma yakoonu hutaman wafee alakhirati AAathabun shadeedun wamaghfiratun mina Allahi waridwanun wama alhayatu alddunya illa mataAAu alghuroori
Know it very well that the life of this world is nothing except that it is a play and pastime and just pomp and tramp and your boasting among yourselves and a struggle to surpass one another in wealth and children.  Its example is such as the cultivator becomes happy seeing the vegetation after rain.  Then the same field ripens and you see it turn yellow.  Then it remains as husk/shell.  Contrary to this the Hereafter is that place where there is a severe torment and Forgiveness from Allâh and HIS Pleasure.  The worldly life is nothing but a deceiving enjoyment (an illusion).

21.             Sabiqoo ila maghfiratin min rabbikum wajannatin AAarduha kaAAardi alssamai waalardi oAAiddat lillatheena amanoo biAllahi warusulihi thalika fadlu Allahi yuteehi man yashao waAllahu thoo alfadli alAAatheemi
Run/compete and try to supercede one another toward forgiveness from your Râbb and towards the Paradise whose vastness is like the vastness of the skies and the earth, which has been made available for those people who have brought Faith in Allâh and HIS Rasools.  This is Blessing of Allâh (HE) bestows to whomever HE pleases, and Allâh is the Owner of Great Bounty.

22.             Ma asaba min museebatin fee alardi wala fee anfusikum illa fee kitabin min qabli an nabraaha inna thalika AAala Allahi yaseerun
There is no such calamity that befalls on the earth or in your own-selves, which WE have not recorded in the Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz), before bringing it into existence.  To do so is very easy for Allâh

23.             Likayla tasaw AAala ma fatakum wala tafrahoo bima atakum waAllahu la yuhibbu kulla mukhtalin fakhoorin
(This all is) So that whatever loss you may suffer, you should not be disheartened and whatever Allâh gives; you should not boast on it.  Allâh does not like such people who are arrogant and boastful (prideful boasters),

24.             Allatheena yabkhaloona wayamuroona alnnasa bialbukhli waman yatawalla fainna Allaha huwa alghaniyyu alhameedu
Who are misers themselves and induce others to become miser.  Now if someone goes astray (away) then Allâh is Free of all needs and All Praiseworthy.

25.             Laqad arsalna rusulana bialbayyinati waanzalna maAAahumu alkitaba waalmeezana liyaqooma alnnasu bialqisti waanzalna alhadeeda feehi basun shadeedun wamanafiAAu lilnnasi waliyaAAlama Allahu man yansuruhu warusulahu bialghaybi inna Allaha qawiyyun AAazeezun
WE sent OUR Rasools with clear Signs and plain Guidance, and sent down with them the Book and the Criterion (Balance) so that people should establish (remain on) justice, and sent down iron which has great strength and there are benefits for the people.  This has been done so, that Allâh may know who is going to help HIM and HIS Rasools without seeing HIM.  Certainly, Allâh is Omnipotent and All Mighty.  (R) 19

26.             Walaqad arsalna noohan waibraheema wajaAAalna fee thurriyyatihima alnnubuwwata waalkitaba faminhum muhtadin wakatheerun minhum fasiqoona
WE sent Nûh and Ibrahîm and placed Prophethood and Book in their progeny.  Then among their offspring some embraced guidance and most of them became disobedient (Fâsiqûn)

27.             Thumma qaffayna AAala atharihim birusulina waqaffayna biAAeesa ibni maryama waataynahu alinjeela wajaAAalna fee quloobi allatheena ittabaAAoohu rafatan warahmatan warahbaniyyatan ibtadaAAooha ma katabnaha AAalayhim illa ibtighaa ridwani Allahi fama raAAawha haqqa riAAayatiha faatayna allatheena amanoo minhum ajrahum wakatheerun minhum fasiqoona
After them WE continuously sent OUR Rasools, and after all of them (WE) appointed 'Iesa the son of Maryam and gave him the Injeel, and WE ordained compassion and mercy in the hearts of those people who followed him.  And they themselves invented monasticism, WE had not ordained it for them, but they invented this evil/tyranny to seek the pleasure of Allâh and then they did not obey it as it had the right to be obeyed.  Those people from among them who had brought Faith WE gave them their reward, but most of them are disobedient (Fâsiqûn).

28.             Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ittaqoo Allaha waaminoo birasoolihi yutikum kiflayni min rahmatihi wayajAAal lakum nooran tamshoona bihi wayaghfir lakum waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun
O people who have brought Faith, fear Allâh and bring Faith in HIS Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), Allâh will give you double share of HIS Mercy and will give you that brilliance in its light you will walk, and will forgive you your sins, Allâh is Oft-Forgiving and Most Loving.

29.             Lialla yaAAlama ahlu alkitabi alla yaqdiroona AAala shayin min fadli Allahi waanna alfadla biyadi Allahi yuteehi man yashao waAllahu thoo alfadli alAAatheemi
(You should adopt this way) So that the people of the Scripture should know that, they do not have exclusive possession to the Grace of Allâh.  And that the Grace of Allâh is in HIS Own Hands, (HE) bestows on whomsoever HE Pleases, and HE is the Owner of Great Bounty.  (R) 20
