Chapter 15

Total Verses: 111

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

1.                Subhana allathee asra biAAabdihi laylan mina almasjidi alharami ila almasjidi alaqsa allathee barakna hawlahu linuriyahu min ayatina innahu huwa alssameeAAu albaseeru
Pure is HE WHO one night took HIS devotee (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) from Masjid-al-Harâm (in Makkah) to the farthest Masjid (Muslims place of worship in Jerusalem) whose surroundings HE has blessed -- so that to show him some of HIS Signs (Ayât).  In fact HE is the One WHO hears and sees everything.

2.               Waatayna moosa alkitaba wajaAAalnahu hudan libanee israeela alla tattakhithoo min doonee wakeelan
Before this WE had given a Book to Mûsa and made it a source of guidance for the Children of Isrâil with this command (saying): "Except ME do not take anyone as a protector (Wakîl).

3.               Thurriyyata man hamalna maAAa noohin innahu kana AAabdan shakooran
You are offspring of those people whom WE rode in the boat with Nûh, and Nûh was a grateful servant.

4.               Waqadayna ila banee israeela fee alkitabi latufsidunna fee alardi marratayni walataAAlunna AAuluwwan kabeeran
Then in OUR Book WE warned the Children of Isrâil on this thing that you will spread big mischief on the earth twice and will show great rebellion.

5.               Faitha jaa waAAdu oolahuma baAAathna AAalaykum AAibadan lana olee basin shadeedin fajasoo khilala alddiyari wakana waAAdan mafAAoolan
Finally when the occasion of first revolt came among them, then O Children of Isrâil, WE raised against you OUR such servants who were very strong and they spread all over by entering into your country.  It was a promise, which had to be fulfilled.

6.               Thumma radadna lakumu alkarrata AAalayhim waamdadnakum biamwalin wabaneena wajaAAalnakum akthara nafeeran
After this WE gave you a chance to subdue them and helped you with wealth and children and increased your numbers than before.

7.               In ahsantum ahsantum lianfusikum wain asatum falaha faitha jaa waAAdu alakhirati liyasoooo wujoohakum waliyadkhuloo almasjida kama dakhaloohu awwala marratin waliyutabbiroo ma AAalaw tatbeeran
Look! If you did well -- it is good for yourselves, and if you committed an evil it proved to be an evil for your own-selves.  So when the time of second promise came then WE imposed other enemies on you -- so that they deface your faces and enter the Masjid (of Jerusalem) in the same way as previous enemies had entered and destroyed all that whatever came into their reach --

8.               AAasa rabbukum an yarhamakum wain AAudtum AAudna wajaAAalna jahannama lilkafireena haseeran
It may be that now your Râbb may show mercy to you, but if you repeat your previous conduct then WE shall also repeat OUR punishment, and WE have made Hell a prison for those people who deny our favor.

9.               Inna hatha alqurana yahdee lillatee hiya aqwamu wayubashshiru almumineena allatheena yaAAmaloona alssalihati anna lahum ajran kabeeran
The fact is that Al-Qur'ân shows that path -- which is very straight. It gives glad tidings to those people who believe in it and do righteous deeds that there is a great reward for them

10.           Waanna allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati aAAtadna lahum AAathaban aleeman
And those people who do not believe in the Hereafter it gives them the news that WE have prepared painful torment for them. (R) 1

Mankind asks for an evil as righteousness should be asked.  Human happened to be very hasty.

12.           WajaAAalna allayla waalnnahara ayatayni famahawna ayata allayli wajaAAalna ayata alnnahari mubsiratan litabtaghoo fadlan min rabbikum walitaAAlamoo AAadada alssineena waalhisaba wakulla shayin fassalnahu tafseelan
Look! WE have made the night and the day as two signs (Ayât).  WE made the sign of night without light, and gave the light to the sign of day -- so that you can seek the bounty of your Râbb and may calculate the counts of years and the months.  The same way WE have well-defined everything separately.

15.            Mani ihtada fainnama yahtadee linafsihi waman dalla fainnama yadillu AAalayha wala taziru waziratun wizra okhra wama kunna muAAaththibeena hatta nabAAatha rasoolan
Whosoever adopts the righteous path; his/her righteousness is beneficial for him/her own-self, and whoever goes astray the burden of his/her deviation (going astray) is on himself/herself.  No carrier of burden will carry the burden of another (person).  And WE do not punish until WE send a Messenger (to make the people understand the difference of Truth and falsehood).

17.            Wakam ahlakna mina alqurooni min baAAdi noohin wakafa birabbika bithunoobi AAibadihi khabeeran baseeran
Look! How many generations have been destroyed by OUR Command after Nûh!  Your Râbb is well aware of the sins of HIS salves and is seeing everything.

45.            Waitha qarata alqurana jaAAalna baynaka wabayna allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati hijaban mastooran
When you recite Al-Qur'ân WE put a screen (covering) between you and those who do not believe in the Hereafter,

46.            WajaAAalna AAala quloobihim akinnatan an yafqahoohu wafee athanihim waqran waitha thakarta rabbaka fee alqurani wahdahu wallaw AAala adbarihim nufooran
And WE put such coverings over their hearts that they do not understand anything, and cause deafness in their ears.  And when in Al-Qur'ân you mention the Oneness of your Râbb (Lâ ilâha ill-Allâh) then they turn their faces in hatred.

47.            Nahnu aAAlamu bima yastamiAAoona bihi ith yastamiAAoona ilayka waith hum najwa ith yaqoolu alththalimoona in tattabiAAoona illa rajulan mashooran
WE know that when they carefully listen your word in fact what they really hear and what they say when they whisper together in secret.  These cruels (Zâlimûn) say to one another: "The person whom you are following is under a magic spell."

48.            Onthur kayfa daraboo laka alamthala fadalloo fala yastateeAAoona sabeelan
Look! What sort of lies these people put on you they have gone astray, they cannot find the way-out.

49.            Waqaloo aitha kunna AAithaman warufatan ainna lamabAAoothoona khalqan jadeedan
They say: "When we will become bones and dust then will we be created again from the beginning and be raised into life?" --

50.            Qul koonoo hijaratan aw hadeedan
Tell them: "Whether you become stone or Iron,

51.            Aw khalqan mimma yakburu fee sudoorikum fasayaqooloona man yuAAeeduna quli allathee fatarakum awwala marratin fasayunghidoona ilayka ruoosahum wayaqooloona mata huwa qul AAasa an yakoona qareeban
"Or something harder than it which is beyond your imagination to be brought to life (even then you will be raised to life)."  They will certainly ask: "WHO is HE, who will bring us back to life?"  In response say: "The One WHO created you first time."  They will ask by shaking their heads: "Well, then when it will happen?"  You (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) say: "No surprise that time may have come near."

52.            Yawma yadAAookum fatastajeeboona bihamdihi watathunnoona in labithtum illa qaleelan
The Day when HE will call you then you will come out praising HIM in response to HIS Call and at that time you will think that you have been in that state for a little while. (R) 5

53.           Waqul liAAibadee yaqooloo allatee hiya ahsanu inna alshshaytana yanzaghu baynahum inna alshshaytana kana lilinsani AAaduwwan mubeenan
And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), tell MY servants (i.e. the believer servants) that they should say only those words, which are the best.  In fact it is a Shaitân who try to provoke conflict among the mankind.  The Truth is that Shaitân (Satan) is an open enemy to mankind.

54.           Rabbukum aAAlamu bikum in yasha yarhamkum aw in yasha yuAAaththibkum wama arsalnaka AAalayhim wakeelan
Your Râbb is well aware of your condition.  If HE wants HE may be merciful to you and if HE wants HE may punish you.  And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) WE have not sent you as a guardian over the people.

55.            Warabbuka aAAlamu biman fee alssamawati waalardi walaqad faddalna baAAda alnnabiyyeena AAala baAAdin waatayna dawooda zabooran
Your Râbb knows best (about) all the creatures of the skies and the earth.  WE gave higher ranks to some Prophets above the others, and WE had given Zabûr (Psalms) to Dawûd.

56.            Quli odAAu allatheena zaAAamtum min doonihi fala yamlikoona kashfa alddurri AAankum wala tahweelan
Tell them: "Try to call those deities whom you consider (your gods) except Allâh, they can neither remove any adversity from you nor can shift it."

57.            Olaika allatheena yadAAoona yabtaghoona ila rabbihimu alwaseelata ayyuhum aqrabu wayarjoona rahmatahu wayakhafoona AAathabahu inna AAathaba rabbika kana mahthooran
Whom these people invoke they themselves are seeking means of nearness to their Râbb that who can come closer to HIM and they are hoping for HIS Mercy and fearful of HIS Punishment.  The fact is that the torment of your Râbb is a thing to be afraid.

58.            Wain min qaryatin illa nahnu muhlikooha qabla yawmi alqiyamati aw muAAaththibooha AAathaban shadeedan kana thalika fee alkitabi mastooran
And there is not a single such town, which WE shall not destroy before the Dooms Day or do not give severe punishment; it has been written in the Book of Allâh.

59.           Wama manaAAana an nursila bialayati illa an kaththaba biha alawwaloona waatayna thamooda alnnaqata mubsiratan fathalamoo biha wama nursilu bialayati illa takhweefan
And nothing has stopped US from sending the signs (Ayât) except this that the people before them had denied it.  (Hence look) WE sent the she-camel to (the people of) Thamûd as a clear sign and they did cruelty to her.  WE sent signs only for the reason that people should be scared after seeing them.

60.            Waith qulna laka inna rabbaka ahata bialnnasi wama jaAAalna alrruya allatee araynaka illa fitnatan lilnnasi waalshshajarata almalAAoonata fee alqurani wanukhawwifuhum fama yazeeduhum illa tughyanan kabeeran
Recall O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), WE told you that your Râbb has surrounded them.  And whatever WE have just shown you this and that tree (Zaqqûm) on which cursed has been laid in Al-Qur'ân, WE have made it a thing of mischief for these people. WE are giving them warning after warning, but each warning is only increasing in their rebellion. (R) 6

61.            Waith qulna lilmalaikati osjudoo liadama fasajadoo illa ibleesa qala aasjudu liman khalaqta teenan
And recall when WE said to the angels: "Bow down in prostration before Adam."  Then they all bowed down in prostration except Iblîs (Satan).  He said: "Should I prostrate before him whom YOU have created from clay?"

62.            Qala araaytaka hatha allathee karramta AAalayya lain akhkhartani ila yawmi alqiyamati laahtanikanna thurriyyatahu illa qaleelan
Then he (Iblîs) said: "Just see, was he worthy of this that YOU have preferred him above me?  If
YOU give me respite till the Day of Resurrection then I will extricate (uproot) all of his progeny, only a few people will be able to escape from me."

63.            Qala ithhab faman tabiAAaka minhum fainna jahannama jazaokum jazaan mawfooran
Allâh Responded: "Well then go, whoever among them will follow you; hell is the only ample reward for all of them including yourself.

64.             Waistafziz mani istataAAta minhum bisawtika waajlib AAalayhim bikhaylika warajlika washarikhum fee alamwali waalawladi waAAidhum wama yaAAiduhumu alshshaytanu illa ghurooran
Seduce whomsoever you can seduce (Istafziz) with your invitation, gather your horsemen and infantry against them, become partner in their wealth and children, and entrap them in promises
-- and Satan’s promises are nothing but deception --

65.             Inna AAibadee laysa laka AAalayhim sultanun wakafa birabbika wakeelan
Certainly you will not have any control over MY servants, and your Râbb is Sufficient for Trust (destiny).
"

66.             Rabbukumu allathee yuzjee lakumu alfulka fee albahri litabtaghoo min fadlihi innahu kana bikum raheeman
Your (True) Râbb is HE WHO sails your boat in an ocean -- so that you may seek HIS Bounty.  The fact is that HE is Most Merciful to you.

67.             Waitha massakumu alddurru fee albahri dalla man tadAAoona illa iyyahu falamma najjakum ila albarri aAAradtum wakana alinsanu kafooran
When a calamity comes on you in ocean then they all disappear whomsoever you use to invoke except HIM (Alone), but when HE brings you safely to the land then you turn away your faces from HIM.  Human is in fact very ungrateful
.

68.             Afaamintum an yakhsifa bikum janiba albarri aw yursila AAalaykum hasiban thumma la tajidoo lakum wakeelan
Well, are you then fearless from this thing that Allâh may bury you in the earth even on the land, or send a stone storm on you and you do not find any helper (Wakîl) against it.

69.              Am amintum an yuAAeedakum feehi taratan okhra fayursila AAalaykum qasifan mina alrreehi fayughriqakum bima kafartum thumma la tajidoo lakum AAalayna bihi tabeeAAan
And do you not fear that for a moment -- again Allâh may take you into the sea and drown you by sending a hurricane of wind because of your ungratefulness and you could not find anyone who can inquire from HIM about this end of yours?
--

70.             Walaqad karramna banee adama wahamalnahum fee albarri waalbahri warazaqnahum mina alttayyibati wafaddalnahum AAala katheerin mimman khalaqna tafdeelan
This is OUR Kindness that WE have honored the Children of Adam and given them transport on land as well as on sea and given them provisions from pure things (At-Taiyibât) and clearly preferred above many of OUR other creations. (R) 7

71.             Yawma nadAAoo kulla onasin biimamihim faman ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi faolaika yaqraoona kitabahum wala yuthlamoona fateelan
Then visualize about the Day when WE shall call all mankind with their leaders (Imâms).  At that time those people whom the record of their deeds will be given in their right hand they will read their records and no unjust will be done to them.

72.             Waman kana fee hathihi aAAma fahuwa fee alakhirati aAAma waadallu sabeelan
And whoever lived in this world as a blind (person) he/she will also remain blind in the Hereafter, even worse than a blind in finding the way (of salvation).

73.             Wain kadoo layaftinoonaka AAani allathee awhayna ilayka litaftariya AAalayna ghayrahu waithan laittakhathooka khaleelan
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), these people have tried their best to turn you away from the revelation WE have send to you by trapping you into a mischief -- so that you may fabricate anything in OUR Name.  If you have done so then they would have surely taken you as their friend
.

74.             Walawla an thabbatnaka laqad kidta tarkanu ilayhim shayan qaleelan
And it was not far that if WE had not kept you firm then you might have inclined a little bit toward them.

75.             Ithan laathaqnaka diAAfa alhayati wadiAAfa almamati thumma la tajidu laka AAalayna naseeran
But if you have done so then WE would have made you taste double punishment in this world as well as in the Hereafter, then you would have not found any helper against US.

76.             Wain kadoo layastafizzoonaka mina alardi liyukhrijooka minha waithan la yalbathoona khilafaka illa qaleelan
And these people have also been persistence on this thing that they displace you
from this land and expel you from here.  But if they will do so then after you they will not be able to stay here much longer.

77.             Sunnata man qad arsalna qablaka min rusulina wala tajidu lisunnatina tahweelan
This has always been OUR Rule (Sunnah), which WE have used in case of all the Rasools whom WE had sent before you and you will not find any change in OUR Principle (Sunnah). (R) 8

78.             Aqimi alssalata lidulooki alshshamsi ila ghasaqi allayli waqurana alfajri inna qurana alfajri kana mashhoodan
Establish prayer (As-Salât) from the declining of sun (afternoon) to the darkness of the night (Zuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib, and 'Ishâ' prayers) and also recite Al-Qur'ân especially in the early morning because the recitation of Al-Qur'ân in the early morning has been witnessed (by angels).

79.             Wamina allayli fatahajjad bihi nafilatan laka AAasa an yabAAathaka rabbuka maqaman mahmoodan
And offer the mid-night prayer (Salât-e-Tahajjud) at nighttime, it is an additional (Nawâfil) for you (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) -- it is not far away that your Râbb may exalt you to the place of praise and glory (Maqâman-e-Mahmûda).

80.             Waqul rabbi adkhilnee mudkhala sidqin waakhrijnee mukhraja sidqin waijAAal lee min ladunka sultanan naseeran
And pray: "O Râbb, wherever YOU take me take me with truth and from wherever YOU depart me depart me with truth and from YOURSELF appoint the Power as my helper.

81.             Waqul jaa alhaqqu wazahaqa albatilu inna albatila kana zahooqan
And announce that: "Truth has come and falsehood (Bâtil) has been eradicated the falsehood (Bâtil) has meant for termination."

82.             Wanunazzilu mina alqurani ma huwa shifaon warahmatun lilmumineena wala yazeedu alththalimeena illa khasaran
WE are sending down that thing through the revelation of this Al-Qur’ân, which is healing, and mercy for the believers, but for the wrongdoers (Zâlimûn) it increases nothing but loss.

83.             Waitha anAAamna AAala alinsani aAArada wanaa bijanibihi waitha massahu alshsharru kana yaoosan
This is the case of mankind that when WE bestow OUR Mercy on him/her then he/she becomes arrogant and turns his/her back, and when goes through any misfortune for a while then starts grieving.

84.             Qul kullun yaAAmalu AAala shakilatihi farabbukum aAAlamu biman huwa ahda sabeelan
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), tell these people: "Everyone is do something according to his/her belief (Shakilatihi), now your Râbb Knows best who is on the right path." (R) 9

85.             Wayasaloonaka AAani alrroohi quli alrroohu min amri rabbee wama ooteetum mina alAAilmi illa qaleelan
These people inquire from you about Rûh (the Revelation, the Spirit).  Tell them: "The Spirit (Rûh) comes by the command of my Râbb, but you people have seldom benefited from the knowledge."

86.             Walain shina lanathhabanna biallathee awhayna ilayka thumma la tajidu laka bihi AAalayna wakeelan
And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), if WE want then WE may take away all that from you -- which WE have given you through revelation, then you will not find any helper against US, who can help (you Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) to get it back.

87.             Illa rahmatan min rabbika inna fadlahu kana AAalayka kabeeran
Whatever you have gotten is by the mercy of your Râbb; the fact is that HIS Favor to you is immense.

88.             Qul laini ijtamaAAati alinsu waaljinnu AAala an yatoo bimithli hatha alqurani la yatoona bimithlihi walaw kana baAAduhum libaAAdin thaheeran
Say it that: "If all the mankind and the jinn get together and try to produce anything like this Al-Qur'ân, they would never be able to succeed, even if they are the helpers of one another."

89.             Walaqad sarrafna lilnnasi fee hatha alqurani min kulli mathalin faaba aktharu alnnasi illa kufooran
WE have used different methods in this Al-Qur'ân to make the people understand, but most of the people firmly stuck on the refusal

90.             Waqaloo lan numina laka hatta tafjura lana mina alardi yanbooAAan
And they said: "We will not accept your message, until you cause the fountain to flow for us by splitting the earth.

91.             Aw takoona laka jannatun min nakheelin waAAinabin fatufajjira alanhara khilalaha tafjeeran
Or a garden of date palms and grapes should be created for you and you make canals to flow in it.

92.             Aw tusqita alssamaa kama zaAAamta AAalayna kisafan aw tatiya biAllahi waalmalaikati qabeelan
Or you cause the sky to break into pieces and fall on us as you have claimed.  Or bring Allâh and the angels face to face before us.

93.             Aw yakoona laka baytun min zukhrufin aw tarqa fee alssamai walan numina liruqiyyika hatta tunazzila AAalayna kitaban naqraohu qul subhana rabbee hal kuntu illa basharan rasoolan
Or a house of gold should be built for you.  Or you may climb up to the sky, and we will not believe in your ascending (to sky) until you bring down such writing for us that we can read
-- O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) tell them: "Exalted is my Râbb above all!  Am I something more than a man who brings the message?" (R) 10

94.             Wama manaAAa alnnasa an yuminoo ith jaahumu alhuda illa an qaloo abaAAatha Allahu basharan rasoolan
Whenever guidance came to the people then nothing stopped them to bring Faith except their this saying: "Has Allâh sent human as a Messenger?"

95.             Qul law kana fee alardi malaikatun yamshoona mutmainneena lanazzalna AAalayhim mina alssamai malakan rasoolan
Tell them: "If angels were walking in peace on the earth then WE certainly should have sent down angels from the sky for them as Messenger."

96.             Qul kafa biAllahi shaheedan baynee wabaynakum innahu kana biAAibadihi khabeeran baseeran
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) tell them: "A witness of Allâh is Sufficient between me and you.  HE is well aware of HIS servants and is watching everything."

97.             Waman yahdi Allahu fahuwa almuhtadi waman yudlil falan tajida lahum awliyaa min doonihi wanahshuruhum yawma alqiyamati AAala wujoohihim AAumyan wabukman wasumman mawahum jahannamu kullama khabat zidnahum saAAeeran
Whomever Allâh guides he/she is rightly guided, and whomever HE lets go astray for such people you cannot find any helper or protector (Auliyâ') except HIM.  On the Day of Resurrection WE shall bring these people on their faces down, blind, dumb and deaf.  Their destination is Hell. Whenever its fire will start diminishing WE shall inflame it more.

98.             Thalika jazaohum biannahum kafaroo biayatina waqaloo aitha kunna AAithaman warufatan ainna lamabAAoothoona khalqan jadeedan
This is the recompense for their misdeed that they denied OUR Revelation and said: "What! Will we be recreated and raised up again -- when we will turn into bones and dust"?

99.             Awa lam yaraw anna Allaha allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda qadirun AAala an yakhluqa mithlahum wajaAAala lahum ajalan la rayba feehi faaba alththalimoona illa kufooran
Did it not come to their mind that Allâh WHO has created the skies and the earth HE certainly has power to create them (again)?  HE has ordained a term for their resurrection that is surly going to come, but the wrongdoers (Zâlimûn) declare firmly that they will deny it.

100.          Qul law antum tamlikoona khazaina rahmati rabbee ithan laamsaktum khashyata alinfaqi wakana alinsanu qatooran
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) tell them: "If the treasures of the Mercy of my Râbb would ever be in your possession then you surely would have held them back for the fear of being spent.  Certainly human has been happened to be narrow-minded
. (R) 11

101.          Walaqad atayna moosa tisAAa ayatin bayyinatin faisal banee israeela ith jaahum faqala lahu firAAawnu innee laathunnuka ya moosa mashooran
WE had given nine signs to Mûsa, which were clearly visible.  Now you may yourself ask from the Children of Isrâil that when Mûsa came to them -- Fir'aun said to him: "O Mûsa! I think that you are really under a magic-spell."

102.          Qala laqad AAalimta ma anzala haolai illa rabbu alssamawati waalardi basaira wainnee laathunnuka ya firAAawnu mathbooran
Mûsa responded: "You know very well that these eye opener signs have been sent down by none but the Râbb of the skies and the earth, and I think O Fir'aun that you are certainly a person destined for ruin."

103.          Faarada an yastafizzahum mina alardi faaghraqnahu waman maAAahu jameeAAan
Finally Fir’aun decided to uproot Mûsa and the Children of Isrâil from the land (of
Egypt), but WE drowned him along with his companions

104.          Waqulna min baAAdihi libanee israeela oskunoo alarda faitha jaa waAAdu alakhirati jina bikum lafeefan
And after this (WE) said to the Children of Isrâil: "Now you live in the land and when the time for the promise of resurrection will come then WE shall bring you altogether.

105.          Wabialhaqqi anzalnahu wabialhaqqi nazala wama arsalnaka illa mubashshiran wanatheeran
WE have revealed this Al-Qur'ân in truth and it has come down with truth, and O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), WE have not sent you except this that you should give glad tidings (to those who accept it) and warn (those who do not accept this message).

106.          Waquranan faraqnahu litaqraahu AAala alnnasi AAala mukthin wanazzalnahu tanzeelan
And WE have revealed this Al-Qur'ân gradually so that you should recite it to the people progressively, and WE have revealed it in sequence (according to the situations).

107.          Qul aminoo bihi aw la tuminoo inna allatheena ootoo alAAilma min qablihi itha yutla AAalayhim yakhirroona lilathqani sujjadan
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) tell these people: "Whether you accept it or not, but when it is recited to those people whom the knowledge have been given before it they fall down on their faces in prostration

108.          Wayaqooloona subhana rabbina in kana waAAdu rabbina lamafAAoolan
And cry out: "Pure is our Râbb! HIS Promise was to be fulfilled."

(Al- Sajjdah)

109.          Wayakhirroona lilathqani yabkoona wayazeeduhum khushooAAan
And they fall down on their faces weeping and its listening adds to their humility.

110.          Quli odAAoo Allaha awi odAAoo alrrahmana ayyan ma tadAAoo falahu alasmao alhusna wala tajhar bisalatika wala tukhafit biha waibtaghi bayna thalika sabeelan
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) tell them: "Whether you call (HIM) Allâh or Rahmân (the Loving), by whatever name you call HIM, for HIM all names are excellent."   And do not say your prayer (Salât) in a very loud voice and nor in a very low voice, adopt the middle way between these two.

1.       Waquli alhamdu lillahi allathee lam yattakhith waladan walam yakun lahu shareekun fee almulki walam yakun lahu waliyyun mina alththulli wakabbirhu takbeeran
And say: "Praise is for that Allâh WHO has neither taken anyone as a son nor anyone is a partner in the Kingdom, and nor HE is helpless that anyone should be HIS helper (Walî)."  And praise HIS Glory, the Glory of excellence.
(R) 12

“Al-Kahf - The Cave” – (Makki - 18th Surah)

Total Verses: 110

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

1.                Alhamdu lillahi allathee anzala AAala AAabdihi alkitaba walam yajAAal lahu AAiwajan
Praise is for Allâh WHO revealed this Book on HIS servant (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and did not leave any flaw in it.

2.                Qayyiman liyunthira basan shadeedan min ladunhu wayubashshira almumineena allatheena yaAAmaloona alssalihati anna lahum ajran hasanan
A Book of truthful and straightforward message, so that he should warn the people from the severe punishment of Allâh and give glad tidings to those who bring Faith and do righteous deeds that there is a good reward for them.

3.                Makitheena feehi abadan
They will stay in it forever,

4.                Wayunthira allatheena qaloo ittakhatha Allahu waladan
And scare those people who say, "Allâh has taken anyone as HIS son."

5.                Ma lahum bihi min AAilmin wala liabaihim kaburat kalimatan takhruju min afwahihim in yaqooloona illa kathiban
Neither they have any knowledge of this thing nor their forefathers had.  This is flimsy thing that comes out from their mouths; they speak just complete lie.

6.                FalaAAallaka bakhiAAun nafsaka AAala atharihim in lam yuminoo bihatha alhadeethi asafan
Well, then O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), perhaps you are going to give your life in grief for them if they do not bring Faith on this teaching.

7.                Inna jaAAalna ma AAala alardi zeenatan laha linabluwahum ayyuhum ahsanu AAamalan
The fact is that whatever is on the earth WE have made it the beauty of the earth so that (WE) could test these people who does good deeds among them.

8.                Wainna lajaAAiloona ma AAalayha saAAeedan juruzan
Ultimately! WE are going to make it entire bare plain field.

9.                Am hasibta anna ashaba alkahfi waalrraqeemi kanoo min ayatina AAajaban
Do you think that the people of the cave and engraved plate (Ar-Raqeem) were from among OUR strange Signs?

10.             Ith awa alfityatu ila alkahfi faqaloo rabbana atina min ladunka rahmatan wahayyi lana min amrina rashadan
When those a few young men took refuge in the cave and they said: "Our Râbb! Bless us with YOUR special favor and fix our affair in the right way,"

11.             Fadarabna AAala athanihim fee alkahfi sineena AAadadan
Then in the same cave WE gave them sound sleep for many years,

12.             Thumma baAAathnahum linaAAlama ayyu alhizbayni ahsa lima labithoo amadan
Then WE awaken them up to see between the two groups, which can correctly calculate their stay time (in that cave). (R) 13

13.             Nahnu naqussu AAalayka nabaahum bialhaqqi innahum fityatun amanoo birabbihim wazidnahum hudan
WE narrate their real story to you.  They were young men who had brought Faith in their Râbb and WE exalted them in guidance.

14.             Warabatna AAala quloobihim ith qamoo faqaloo rabbuna rabbu alssamawati waalardi lan nadAAuwa min doonihi ilahan laqad qulna ithan shatatan
WE strengthened their hearts when they woke up and announced: "Our Râbb is the One WHO is the Râbb of the skies and the earth -- we will not call any other deity (ilâh) except HIM.  If we do so then it will be absolutely improper thing."

15.             Haolai qawmuna ittakhathoo min doonihi alihatan lawla yatoona AAalayhim bisultanin bayyinin faman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban
(Then they said to one another) "Our people have taken other deities (Ilâhan) except the Râbb of the universe.  Why do these people not bring any clear proof for them to be deities?  So who else could be crueler than the one who invents lie against Allâh?

16.             Waithi iAAtazaltumoohum wama yaAAbudoona illa Allaha fawoo ila alkahfi yanshur lakum rabbukum min rahmatihi wayuhayyi lakum min amrikum mirfaqan
Now when you have withdrawn from them and as well as from their deities except Allâh then let us go and take refuge in that cave. Your Râbb will extend HIS Mercy on you and will provide the means for your affairs."

17.             Watara alshshamsa itha talaAAat tazawaru AAan kahfihim thata alyameeni waitha gharabat taqriduhum thata alshshimali wahum fee fajwatin minhu thalika min ayati Allahi man yahdi Allahu fahuwa almuhtadi waman yudlil falan tajida lahu waliyyan murshidan
If you could see them in the cave then it would appear to you that when the sun rises it ascents to the right leaving their cave -- and when it sets, it turns away from them and goes down to the left and they are laying in the spacious place inside the Cave.  This is one among the Signs (Ayât) of Allâh whom Allâh guides he/she is rightly guided and whom Allâh sends astray for him/her you cannot find any helper and guide (Walî and Guide). (R) 14

18.             Watahsabuhum ayqathan wahum ruqoodun wanuqallibuhum thata alyameeni wathata alshshimali wakalbuhum basitun thiraAAayhi bialwaseedi lawi ittalaAAta AAalayhim lawallayta minhum firaran walamulita minhum ruAAban
By seeing them you would have thought that they are awake, while they were asleep.  WE were turning them on their right and left sides and their dog was sitting on the mouth of the cave stretching its hands.  If you have peeked at them then you would have run away on your heels and you would have been filled with terror by their sight.

19.             Wakathalika baAAathnahum liyatasaaloo baynahum qala qailun minhum kam labithtum qaloo labithna yawman aw baAAda yawmin qaloo rabbukum aAAlamu bima labithtum faibAAathoo ahadakum biwariqikum hathihi ila almadeenati falyanthur ayyuha azka taAAaman falyatikum birizqin minhu walyatalattaf wala yushAAiranna bikum ahadan
And with the same strange miracle WE awakened them so that they could mutually question one another. One of them asked, tell: "How long have you been in this state?"  The others said: "Perhaps for a day or less than a day."  Then they said: "Allâh knows best for how long we stayed in this condition.  Let us send one of us to the city with this silver coin and he should find which place has the best food.  From there he should bring something to eat.  And he should be very careful; it should not be that he should inform someone of our being here.

20.             Innahum in yathharoo AAalaykum yarjumookum aw yuAAeedookum fee millatihim walan tuflihoo ithan abadan
If those people find about us then they will stone us to death, or will take us back to their people with force, and if it happened so then we will never be successful."

This is how WE informed the people of the town about them so that the people should know that the Promise of Allâh is true and that the Hour of Judgment will surely come.  (But just imagine that when the real matter of thinking was this) at that time they were disputing among themselves about this thing that what should be done to them (to the people of the cave).  Some people said: "Construct a wall over them, their Râbb knows best about them."  But those people who had control over their affairs they said: "We will build a place of worship over them."

22.             Sayaqooloona thalathatun rabiAAuhum kalbuhum wayaqooloona khamsatun sadisuhum kalbuhum rajman bialghaybi wayaqooloona sabAAatun wathaminuhum kalbuhum qul rabbee aAAlamu biAAiddatihim ma yaAAlamuhum illa qaleelun fala tumari feehim illa miraan thahiran wala tastafti feehim minhum ahadan
Some people will say that they were three and the fourth was their dog.  And some others will say that they were five and the sixth was their dog.  They all are talking nonsense.  Some other people say that they were seven and the eighth was their dog. (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) Say: "My Râbb knows best how many they were (in number).  Only a few people know their correct number.  So do not debate with people about their number except for light talk, and nor ask anything from anyone about them (the people of the Cave). (R) 15

23.             Wala taqoolanna lishayin innee faAAilun thalika ghadan
And see; never say this about anything that I shall do it tomorrow (as you can’t do anything).

24.             Illa an yashaa Allahu waothkur rabbaka itha naseeta waqul AAasa an yahdiyani rabbee liaqraba min hatha rashadan
Unless if Allâh Wills.  If mistakenly such thing comes out of tongue then immediately remember your Râbb and say: "It is hopped that my Râbb will guide me in this matter toward the closest of the truth"

25.             Walabithoo fee kahfihim thalatha miatin sineena waizdadoo tisAAan
And they stayed in their Cave for three hundred years, and (some people in counts of the period have) added nine more years.

26.             Quli Allahu aAAlamu bima labithoo lahu ghaybu alssamawati waalardi absir bihi waasmiAA ma lahum min doonihi min waliyyin wala yushriku fee hukmihi ahadan
You say: "Allâh knows best the period of their stay, HE knows all that, which is hidden in the skies and the earth, what an excellent Seer and Hearer HE is!  (For the creation of the skies and the earth) there is no other guardian (Walî) except HIM, and HE does not take any partners in HIS Kingdom."

27.             Waotlu ma oohiya ilayka min kitabi rabbika la mubaddila likalimatihi walan tajida min doonihi multahadan
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), whatever has been revealed to you from the Book of your Râbb recite it (without any change), no one is authorized to change HIS Commandments, (and if you Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) will make any change for anyone then) will not find any place of refuge from HIM.

28.             Waisbir nafsaka maAAa allatheena yadAAoona rabbahum bialghadati waalAAashiyyi yureedoona wajhahu wala taAAdu AAaynaka AAanhum tureedu zeenata alhayati alddunya wala tutiAA man aghfalna qalbahu AAan thikrina waittabaAAa hawahu wakana amruhu furutan
And satisfy your heart in the companionship of those people who call HIM day and night becoming the seekers of the pleasure of their Râbb, and never turn away (your) sight from them.  Do you like the beauty of the world?  Do not obey any such person; whose heart WE have made forgetful of OUR Remembrance and who has adopted the pursuit of his/her own lust and whose methodology depends on affluence and deficiency.

29.             Waquli alhaqqu min rabbikum faman shaa falyumin waman shaa falyakfur inna aAAtadna lilththalimeena naran ahata bihim suradiquha wain yastagheethoo yughathoo bimain kaalmuhli yashwee alwujooha bisa alshsharabu wasaat murtafaqan
Say it clearly that this is the Truth from your Râbb, now whosoever wants should accept it and whosoever wants can deny it.  WE have prepared fire for the crueler (Zâlimûn) whose flames have surrounded them.  There if they will ask for the water then such water will be served to them, which will be like waste of oil and will burn their mouths, the worst thing to drink -- and the worst place to stay (Murtafaqâ)!

30.             Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati inna la nudeeAAu ajra man ahsana AAamalan
As for those people who accept it and do righteous deeds, then certainly WE do not waste the reward of the righteous people.

31.             Olaika lahum jannatu AAadnin tajree min tahtihimu alanharu yuhallawna feeha min asawira min thahabin wayalbasoona thiyaban khudran min sundusin waistabraqin muttakieena feeha AAala alaraiki niAAma alththawabu wahasunat murtafaqan
There are everlasting gardens ('Adn, Eden) for them underneath which canals will be flowing, there they will be decorated with golden bracelets, (they) will wear green garments of fine silk and beautiful brocade, and (they) will sit on the raised thrones resting on cushions.  The excellent reward and exceptional place to stay (Murtafaqâ)! (R) 16

32.             Waidrib lahum mathalan rajulayni jaAAalna liahadihima jannatayni min aAAnabin wahafafnahuma binakhlin wajaAAalna baynahuma zarAAan
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), present an example before them.  There were two people.  To one of them WE gave two gardens of grapes and WE put a fence of date-palm trees around those and between them left land for cultivation.

33.             Kilta aljannatayni atat okulaha walam tathlim minhu shayan wafajjarna khilalahuma naharan
Both the gardens flourished well (yielded ample fruits) and did not fail to yield its best.  WE caused a canal to flow in the midst of those gardens

34.             Wakana lahu thamarun faqala lisahibihi wahuwa yuhawiruhu ana aktharu minka malan waaAAazzu nafaran
And he got lots of profit.  Gaining all that one-day while talking to his neighbor he said: "I am wealthier than you and have more powerful men than you."

35.             Wadakhala jannatahu wahuwa thalimun linafsihi qala ma athunnu an tabeeda hathihi abadan
Then he entered into his paradise and becoming cruel about his own soul started saying. "I do not think that this wealth will ever vanish.

36.             Wama athunnu alssaAAata qaimatan walain rudidtu ila rabbee laajidanna khayran minha munqalaban
And I do not expect that the Hour of Judgment will ever come.  However if I will be ever brought back to my Râbb then I shall certainly get better place than this."

37.             Qala lahu sahibuhu wahuwa yuhawiruhu akafarta biallathee khalaqaka min turabin thumma min nutfatin thumma sawwaka rajulan
While talking; his neighbor said to him: "Do you commit infidelity (Kufr) with the One WHO has created you from mud and then from sperm drop (Nutfah) and formed you into a complete man?

38.             Lakinna huwa Allahu rabbee wala oshriku birabbee ahadan
As for me, my Râbb is Allâh Alone and I do not associate anyone with HIM.

39.             Walawla ith dakhalta jannataka qulta ma shaa Allahu la quwwata illa biAllahi in tarani ana aqalla minka malan wawaladan
And when you were entering into your paradise then at that time why it did not come out from your mouth that 'Only that will happen what Allâh wills (Mâshâ Allâh), no one has any power except Allâh?  If you are appraising me inferior than yourself in wealth and children

40.             FaAAasa rabbee an yutiyani khayran min jannatika wayursila AAalayha husbanan mina alssamai fatusbiha saAAeedan zalaqan
Then it is quite possible that my Râbb may give me better than your garden and send catastrophe (Husbân) on your paradise from the sky, which turns it into barren (plain) land,

41.             Aw yusbiha maoha ghawran falan tastateeAAa lahu talaban
Or its water may go down in the earth and then you could not regain it in anyway."

42.             Waoheeta bithamarihi faasbaha yuqallibu kaffayhi AAala ma anfaqa feeha wahiya khawiyatun AAala AAurooshiha wayaqoolu ya laytanee lam oshrik birabbee ahadan
Finally it happened so; that all his fruits were destroyed and the garden of grapes were over turned on the trellises and he remained squeezing his hands with sorrow at the loss of what he had spent on it and started saying: Would that! I had not associated anyone with my Râbb."
--

43.             Walam takun lahu fiatun yansuroonahu min dooni Allahi wama kana muntasiran
Except Allâh he could not have any group which could help him, and nor he himself could fight against this destruction
--

44.             Hunalika alwalayatu lillahi alhaqqi huwa khayrun thawaban wakhayrun AAuqban
At that time he came to know that all the divine power (Al-Walâyah) is for Allâh the Trustworthy that reward is the best, which HE gives, and that end is the best, which HE shows.
(R) 17

45.             Waidrib lahum mathala alhayati alddunya kamain anzalnahu mina alssamai faikhtalata bihi nabatu alardi faasbaha hasheeman tathroohu alrriyahu wakana Allahu AAala kulli shayin muqtadiran
And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), make them to understand the reality of this worldly life with this example that (as if) today WE sent down water from the sky and the vegetation of the earth flourished to its best (with it), and tomorrow the same vegetation was turned into waste which is carried by the winds.  Allâh has power over everything.

46.             Almalu waalbanoona zeenatu alhayati alddunya waalbaqiyatu alssalihatu khayrun AAinda rabbika thawaban wakhayrun amalan
This wealth and the children are just the immediate beauty of this worldly life.   In reality only the resulting lasting-good deeds are best in the sight of your Râbb and best hopes can only be related to them.

47.             Wayawma nusayyiru aljibala watara alarda barizatan wahasharnahum falam nughadir minhum ahadan
Worry should be about that Day when WE shall cause the mountains to move, and you will find the earth naked, and WE shall gather the entire mankind together in such a way that (among the previous and succeeding) none will be left behind,

48.             WaAAuridoo AAala rabbika saffan laqad jitumoona kama khalaqnakum awwala marratin bal zaAAamtum allan najAAala lakum mawAAidan
And they all will be brought before your Râbb in rows
--well now see! "You have come to US the same way as WE had created you the first time".  You had thought that WE have not set any appointed time for you (of OUR Promise) --

49.             WawudiAAa alkitabu fatara almujrimeena mushfiqeena mimma feehi wayaqooloona ya waylatana ma lihatha alkitabi la yughadiru sagheeratan wala kabeeratan illa ahsaha wawajadoo ma AAamiloo hadiran wala yathlimu rabbuka ahadan
And the record of the deeds will be placed before them.  At that time you will see that the criminals (Mujrimûn) will be fearful from the record of their book of life and will be saying: "O our bad luck, what type of a Book is this that none of our deeds are left unrecorded either small or big."  Whatever they had done they will find all that in front of them and your Râbb will not do any injustice to anyone. (R) 18

50.             Waith qulna lilmalaikati osjudoo liadama fasajadoo illa ibleesa kana mina aljinni fafasaqa AAan amri rabbihi afatattakhithoonahu wathurriyyatahu awliyaa min doonee wahum lakum AAaduwwun bisa lilththalimeena badalan
Recall, when WE said to the angels: "Bow down in prostration before Adam", they all prostrated but Iblîs (Satan) did not.  He was one of the jinns this is why he disobeyed the Command of his Râbb.  Now do you take him (Iblîs) and his offspring as your guardian except ME whereas they are your enemies?  It is a worse exchange, which these cruel people (Zâlimûn) are adopting (getting).

51.             Ma ashhadtuhum khalqa alssamawati waalardi wala khalqa anfusihim wama kuntu muttakhitha almudilleena AAadudan
I did not call them (for help) while creating the skies and the earth and nor I had involved them in their own creation.  It is not for ME to take the misleaders as MY helpers.

52.             Wayawma yaqoolu nadoo shurakaiya allatheena zaAAamtum fadaAAawhum falam yastajeeboo lahum wajaAAalna baynahum mawbiqan
Then what these people will do on that Day when their Râbb will say to them that now call those deities whom you thought to be MY partners.  They will call them, but they will not come to help them and WE shall make one common ditch of destruction (Maubiqa) between them.

53.             Waraa almujrimoona alnnara fathannoo annahum muwaqiAAooha walam yajidoo AAanha masrifan
All the criminals (Mujrimûn) will see fire on that day and will understand that now they have to fall in it and they will not find any place of refuge from it. (R) 19

54.             Walaqad sarrafna fee hatha alqurani lilnnasi min kulli mathalin wakana alinsanu akthara shayin jadalan
In this Al-Qur'ân WE explained to the people in different ways but mankind happened to be very argumentative.

55.             Wama manaAAa alnnasa an yuminoo ith jaahumu alhuda wayastaghfiroo rabbahum illa an tatiyahum sunnatu alawwaleena aw yatiyahumu alAAathabu qubulan
When guidance came to them then what stopped them from accepting it and asking Forgiveness of their Râbb?  Nothing except this that they are waiting for the same thing to happen to them, which has happened to the former people or that they see the torment coming ahead!

56.             Wama nursilu almursaleena illa mubashshireena wamunthireena wayujadilu allatheena kafaroo bialbatili liyudhidoo bihi alhaqqa waittakhathoo ayatee wama onthiroo huzuwan
WE do not send Rasools except this that they perform the duty to convey the good news and the warnings.  But this is the condition of the infidels (Kafir) that with their false arguments they try to defeat the Truth and they have made fun of MY Revelation and those warnings that were sent to them.

57.             Waman athlamu mimman thukkira biayati rabbihi faaAArada AAanha wanasiya ma qaddamat yadahu inna jaAAalna AAala quloobihim akinnatan an yafqahoohu wafee athanihim waqran wain tadAAuhum ila alhuda falan yahtadoo ithan abadan
And who else is crueler than the one to whom the advice is given by reciting the Revelation (Ayât) of his/her Râbb and he/she turns away from it and forgets the bad end of that what he/she has done with his/her own hands for himself/herself?
(Those people who have adopted this attitude) WE have put covering on their hearts, which do not let them to understand the message of Al-Qur'ân and WE have created deafness in their ears.  You may call them toward guidance; they will never receive guidance in this condition.

58.             Warabbuka alghafooru thoo alrrahmati law yuakhithuhum bima kasaboo laAAajjala lahumu alAAathaba bal lahum mawAAidun lan yajidoo min doonihi mawilan
Your Râbb is Most Forgiving and Merciful.  If HE wanted to seize them on their sins then HE would have sent punishment immediately.  But an appointed term has been fixed for them and they will not find any way out from it.

59.             Watilka alqura ahlaknahum lamma thalamoo wajaAAalna limahlikihim mawAAidan
The towns ('Ad, Thamûd) which received (OUR) torment are present before you. When they committed cruelty WE destroyed them, and WE had appointed a term for the destruction of everyone among them. (R) 20

60.             Waith qala moosa lifatahu la abrahu hatta ablugha majmaAAa albahrayni aw amdiya huquban
(Just tell them about the incident, which happened with Mûsa) When Mûsa had said to his servant: "I will not finish my journey until I reach the junction of the two rivers; otherwise I will continue my journey for years."

61.             Falamma balagha majmaAAa baynihima nasiya hootahuma faittakhatha sabeelahu fee albahri saraban
So when they reached at the junction, they became neglectful about the fish and it made its way into the river as if there was some tunnel.

62.             Falamma jawaza qala lifatahu atina ghadaana laqad laqeena min safarina hatha nasaban
After going further Mûsa asked his servant: "Bring our breakfast; we got very tired in our today’s journey."

63.             Qala araayta ith awayna ila alssakhrati fainnee naseetu alhoota wama ansaneehu illa alshshaytanu an athkurahu waittakhatha sabeelahu fee albahri AAajaban
Servant replied: "You know! What happened?  When we were staying near that rock at that time I forgot about the fish and Shaitân made me so negligent that I forgot (to mention to you) about it.  The fish went into the river in a strange way."

64.             Qala thalika ma kunna nabghi fairtadda AAala atharihima qasasan
Mûsa responded: "That is what we were looking for."  Therefore they both went back retracing their footsteps.

65.             Fawajada AAabdan min AAibadina ataynahu rahmatan min AAindina waAAallamnahu min ladunna AAilman
And there they found one servant (Khidr) from among OUR servants whom WE had blessed with OUR favor and had given a special knowledge (to him) from OURSELF.

66.             Qala lahu moosa hal attabiAAuka AAala an tuAAallimani mimma AAullimta rushdan
Mûsa said to him: "May I stay with you so that you may teach me the wisdom, which has been taught (by Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) to you"?

67.             Qala innaka lan tastateeAAa maAAiya sabran
He (Khidr) replied: "You cannot observe patience with me,

68.             Wakayfa tasbiru AAala ma lam tuhit bihi khubran
And about which you do not have any knowledge after all how can you observe patience about it?"

69.             Qala satajidunee in shaa Allahu sabiran wala aAAsee laka amran
Mûsa said: "If Allâh wills (Insha-Allâh) you will find me patient and I shall not disobey you in anything."

70.             Qala faini ittabaAAtanee fala tasalnee AAan shayin hatta ohditha laka minhu thikran
He (Khidr) said: "Well, if you accompany me then do not ask anything from me until I myself tell you about it.
" (R) 21

71.             Faintalaqa hatta itha rakiba fee alssafeenati kharaqaha qala akharaqtaha litughriqa ahlaha laqad jita shayan imran
Now they both departed until they embarked the boat then that person (Khidr) made a hole in the boat.  Mûsa said: "You made a hole in it to drown all its passengers! You have done very fearsome thing (Imra)."

72.             Qala alam aqul innaka lan tastateeAAa maAAiya sabran
He (Khidr) said: "Did I not tell you that you cannot observe patience with me"?

73.             Qala la tuakhithnee bima naseetu wala turhiqnee min amree AAusran
Mûsa said: "Do not hold me accountable for my forgetfulness.  Do not be hard on me for my conduct."

74.             Faintalaqa hatta itha laqiya ghulaman faqatalahu qala aqatalta nafsan zakiyyatan bighayri nafsin laqad jita shayan nukran
Then again they both advanced, until they met a boy and that person (Khidr) killed him. Mûsa said: "You killed an innocent person though he had not killed anyone? You have done a thing of great sin (Nukra)."
