Chapter 14

Total Verses: 99

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

رُّبَمَا يَوَدُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوْ كَانُواْ مُسْلِمِينَ

2.                Rubama yawaddu allatheena kafaroo law kanoo muslimeena
It is quite possible that such time may come when the same people who have refused today (to accept the message of Allâh -- Islam), will regret and say we wish we had submitted to it.

ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُواْ وَيَتَمَتَّعُواْ وَيُلْهِهِمُ الأَمَلُ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ

3.                Tharhum yakuloo wayatamattaAAoo wayulhihimu alamalu fasawfa yaAAlamoona
Leave them to eat, drink, enjoy, and the false hope may keep them in deception.  Soon they will come to know.

وَمَا أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلاَّ وَلَهَا كِتَابٌ مَّعْلُومٌ

4.                Wama ahlakna min qaryatin illa walaha kitabun maAAloomun
Before this whichever town WE have destroyed for them a specific duration for deeds had been written.

مَّا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ

5.                Ma tasbiqu min ommatin ajalaha wama yastakhiroona
Neither any nation can be destroyed before its respite term, nor it can get freedom after that time.

وَقَالُواْ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِي نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ الذِّكْرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجْنُونٌ

6.                Waqaloo ya ayyuha allathee nuzzila AAalayhi alththikru innaka lamajnoonun
These people say: "O that person (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) to whom this Divine Word (Dhikr) has been revealed, you are certainly unsound.

لَّوْ مَا تَأْتِينَا بِالْمَلائِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ

7.                Law ma tateena bialmalaikati in kunta mina alssadiqeena
If you are truthful then why don’t you bring angels before us?"--

مَا نُنَزِّلُ الْمَلائِكَةَ إِلاَّ بِالحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُواْ إِذًا مُّنظَرِينَ

8.                Ma nunazzilu almalaikata illa bialhaqqi wama kanoo ithan munthareena
WE do not send down angels without any reason.  When they come they come with truth, and then no respite is given to the people.

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ

9.                Inna nahnu nazzalna alththikra wainna lahu lahafithoona
As regard to this Word (Dhikr -- Al-Qur'ân), WE have revealed it and WE OURSELF are protector of it.

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِي شِيَعِ الأَوَّلِينَ

10.             Walaqad arsalna min qablika fee shiyaAAi alawwaleena
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), before you WE have sent Rasools in many passed away nations.

وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلاَّ كَانُواْ بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِؤُونَ

11.             Wama yateehim min rasoolin illa kanoo bihi yastahzioona
It never happened that a Rasool came to them and they did not make fun of him.

كَذَلِكَ نَسْلُكُهُ فِي قُلُوبِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ

12.             Kathalika naslukuhu fee quloobi almujrimeena
WE cause this Word (Dhikr) to pass through (like iron rod from) the hearts of criminals in this way.

لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ الأَوَّلِينَ

13.             La yuminoona bihi waqad khalat sunnatu alawwaleena
They do not bring Faith in it (Al-Qur'ân).  Since early this has been the attitude of these types of people.

وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا مِّنَ السَّمَاء فَظَلُّواْ فِيهِ يَعْرُجُونَ

14.             Walaw fatahna AAalayhim baban mina alssamai fathalloo feehi yaAArujoona
If WE had opened any gate of the sky on them and they started ascending through it in the day light,

لَقَالُواْ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْصَارُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ مَّسْحُورُونَ

15.             Laqaloo innama sukkirat absaruna bal nahnu qawmun mashooroona
Even then they would have said that it is an illusion, nay, we have been enchanted. (R) 1

وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِي السَّمَاء بُرُوجًا وَزَيَّنَّاهَا لِلنَّاظِرِينَ

16.             Walaqad jaAAalna fee alssamai buroojan wazayyannaha lilnnathireena
It is OUR artwork that WE have built many strong forts in the sky, beautified it (with stars) for the observers.

وَحَفِظْنَاهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ رَّجِيمٍ

17.             Wahafithnaha min kulli shaytanin rajeemin
And guarded it from every outcasted Shaitân (devil).

إِلاَّ مَنِ اسْتَرَقَ السَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُ شِهَابٌ مُّبِينٌ

18.             Illa mani istaraqa alssamAAa faatbaAAahu shihabun mubeenun
No Shaitân can find a way in it, except tries to over-hear something.  And when he tries to over-hear then a bright fire flame follows him.

وَالأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَّوْزُونٍ

19.             Waalarda madadnaha waalqayna feeha rawasiya waanbatna feeha min kulli shayin mawzoonin
WE spread out the earth, placed mountains in it, caused to grow in it all kinds of herbs with correct and exact measures,

وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَايِشَ وَمَن لَّسْتُمْ لَهُ بِرَازِقِينَ

20.             WajaAAalna lakum feeha maAAayisha waman lastum lahu biraziqeena
And provided means of living in it for you as well as for many other those creatures for whom you are not the provider.

وَإِن مِّن شَيْءٍ إِلاَّ عِندَنَا خَزَائِنُهُ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُ إِلاَّ بِقَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ

21.             Wain min shayin illa AAindana khazainuhu wama nunazziluhu illa biqadarin maAAloomin
There is no such thing whose treasures are not with US, and whatever WE send down WE send it in an appropriate measure.

وَأَرْسَلْنَا الرِّيَاحَ لَوَاقِحَ فَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاء مَاء فَأَسْقَيْنَاكُمُوهُ وَمَا أَنتُمْ لَهُ بِخَازِنِينَ

22.             Waarsalna alrriyaha lawaqiha faanzalna mina alssamai maan faasqaynakumoohu wama antum lahu bikhazineena
WE also send the fertilizing winds, then send down water from the sky, and saturate you from this water. You are not the holder of this treasure.

وَإنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْيِي وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُ الْوَارِثُونَ

23.             Wainna lanahnu nuhyee wanumeetu wanahnu alwarithoona
WE give life and death and WE are going to be the Inheritor of all.

وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَأْخِرِينَ

24.             Walaqad AAalimna almustaqdimeena minkum walaqad AAalimna almustakhireena
WE also know those people among you who have passed away before you, and WE know those as well who will come afterwards.

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ إِنَّهُ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌ

25.             Wainna rabbaka huwa yahshuruhum innahu hakeemun AAaleemun
Certainly, your Râbb will gather them all together; HE is All Wise and All-Knowing.  (R) 2

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الإِنسَانَ مِن صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ

26.             Walaqad khalaqna alinsana min salsalin min hamain masnoonin
WE created man from dried mud of rotten clay.

وَالْجَآنَّ خَلَقْنَاهُ مِن قَبْلُ مِن نَّارِ السَّمُومِ

27.             Waaljanna khalaqnahu min qablu min nari alssamoomi
And before this WE had created jinns from the flame of fire.

وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلاَئِكَةِ إِنِّي خَالِقٌ بَشَرًا مِّن صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ

28.             Waith qala rabbuka lilmalaikati innee khaliqun basharan min salsalin min hamain masnoonin
Then recall that occasion when your Râbb said to the angels: "I am creating a man (Adam) from dried mud of rotten clay.

فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِي فَقَعُواْ لَهُ سَاجِدِينَ

29.             Faitha sawwaytuhu wanafakhtu feehi min roohee faqaAAoo lahu sajideena
When I complete its creation and breathe into him some of MY spirit then you all fall down in prostration before him."

فَسَجَدَ الْمَلآئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ

30.             Fasajada almalaikatu kulluhum ajmaAAoona
Accordingly all the angels prostrated together.

إِلاَّ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَى أَن يَكُونَ مَعَ السَّاجِدِينَ

31.             Illa ibleesa aba an yakoona maAAa alssajideena
Except Iblîs (Satan) he refused to accompany those who prostrated.

قَالَ يَا إِبْلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلاَّ تَكُونَ مَعَ السَّاجِدِينَ

32.             Qala ya ibleesu ma laka alla takoona maAAa alssajideena
Râbb asked: "O Iblîs, what is wrong with you that you did not join those who prostrated?"

قَالَ لَمْ أَكُن لِّأَسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْتَهُ مِن صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ

33.             Qala lam akun liasjuda libasharin khalaqtahu min salsalin min hamain masnoonin
Iblîs replied: "It is not for me to prostrate myself before this being -- whom YOU have created from dried mud of rotten clay."

قَالَ فَاخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌ

34.             Qala faokhruj minha fainnaka rajeemun
Râbb Responded: "Well, then get out from here because you are outcasted (Rajîm),

وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ اللَّعْنَةَ إِلَى يَوْمِ الدِّينِ

35.             Wainna AAalayka allaAAnata ila yawmi alddeeni
And now there is a curse on you till the day of judgment.

قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِي إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

36.             Qala rabbi faanthirnee ila yawmi yubAAathoona
He (Iblîs) requested: "O my Râbb! Then in this case give me respite till the Day when all mankind will be raised again."

قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنظَرِينَ

37.             Qala fainnaka mina almunthareena
(Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) Responded: "Well, you got the respite,

إِلَى يَومِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُومِ

38.             Ila yawmi alwaqti almaAAloomi
Until that day whose time WE Know."

قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِي لأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

39.             Qala rabbi bima aghwaytanee laozayyinanna lahum fee alardi walaoghwiyannahum ajmaAAeena
He (Iblîs) said: "O my Râbb! As YOU have misled me now the same way I shall mislead them all by creating fascinations on the land,

إِلاَّ عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِينَ

40.             Illa AAibadaka minhumu almukhlaseena
Except YOUR those servants whom YOU have purified among them."

قَالَ هَذَا صِرَاطٌ عَلَيَّ مُسْتَقِيمٌ

41.             Qala hatha siratun AAalayya mustaqeemun
(Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) Said: "This is the path that reaches straight to ME.

إِنَّ عِبَادِي لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَانٌ إِلاَّ مَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ الْغَاوِينَ

42.             Inna AAibadee laysa laka AAalayhim sultanun illa mani ittabaAAaka mina alghaweena
No doubt, you shall have no authority over MY true servants. You will only have power over those misguided (Ghâwîn) people, who will follow you,

وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

43.             Wainna jahannama lamawAAiduhum ajmaAAeena
And there is a warning of Hell-fire for all of them."

لَهَا سَبْعَةُ أَبْوَابٍ لِّكُلِّ بَابٍ مِّنْهُمْ جُزْءٌ مَّقْسُومٌ

44.             Laha sabAAatu abwabin likulli babin minhum juzon maqsoomun
This Hell (whose warning is issued for the followers of Iblîs) has seven gates; a portion from among them has been assigned for each gate. (R) 3

إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ

45.             Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatin waAAuyoonin
On the other side the pious people (Muttaqûn) will be in the midst of Gardens and fountains.

ادْخُلُوهَا بِسَلاَمٍ آمِنِينَ

46.             Odkhulooha bisalamin amineena
And it will be said to them that enter into it in peace and without any fear.

وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ إِخْوَانًا عَلَى سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَابِلِينَ

47.             WanazaAAna ma fee sudoorihim min ghillin ikhwanan AAala sururin mutaqabileena
Whatever hatred they may have in their hearts WE shall remove it, they will sit on thrones facing each other like brothers.

لاَ يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَمَا هُم مِّنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِينَ

48.             La yamassuhum feeha nasabun wama hum minha bimukhrajeena
They will neither have any hardship nor shall they ever be asked to leave it.

نَبِّىءْ عِبَادِي أَنِّي أَنَا الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ

49.             Nabbi AAibadee annee ana alghafooru alrraheemu
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), inform MY servants that I AM Oft-Forgiving and Merciful.

وَ أَنَّ عَذَابِي هُوَ الْعَذَابُ الأَلِيمَ

50.             Waanna AAathabee huwa alAAathabu alaleemu
But with it MY punishment is also most painful punishment.

وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَن ضَيْفِ إِبْراَهِيمَ

51.             Wanabbihum AAan dayfi ibraheema
And tell them about the guests of Ibrâhim.

إِذْ دَخَلُواْ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُواْ سَلامًا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمْ وَجِلُونَ

52.             Ith dakhaloo AAalayhi faqaloo salaman qala inna minkum wajiloona
When they came to him and said: "Peace be upon you (Salâman)" then he (Ibrâhim) replied: "We are scared of you."

قَالُواْ لاَ تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلامٍ عَلِيمٍ

53.             Qaloo la tawjal inna nubashshiruka bighulamin AAaleemin
They responded: "Do not be afraid, we give you good news of a very wise son." 

قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِي عَلَى أَن مَّسَّنِيَ الْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ

54.             Qala abashshartumoonee AAala an massaniya alkibaru fabima tubashshirooni
Ibrâhim said: "Do you give me good news of a child in this old age?  Just think about it that what kind of glad tidings are you giving me?"

قَالُواْ بَشَّرْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَلاَ تَكُن مِّنَ الْقَانِطِينَ

55.             Qaloo bashsharnaka bialhaqqi fala takun mina alqaniteena
They responded: "We are giving you very true glad tidings, do not be disappointed."

قَالَ وَمَن يَقْنَطُ مِن رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهِ إِلاَّ الضَّآلُّونَ

56.             Qala waman yaqnatu min rahmati rabbihi illa alddalloona
Ibrâhim said: "Only those people who are gone astray despair from the Mercy of their Râbb."

قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ

57.             Qala fama khatbukum ayyuha almursaloona
Then Ibrâhim asked: "O messengers of Allâh what is that venture on which you have come?"

قَالُواْ إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَى قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ

58.             Qaloo inna orsilna ila qawmin mujrimeena
They said: "We have been sent towards a nation of criminals (Mujrimûn).

إِلاَّ آلَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

59.             Illa ala lootin inna lamunajjoohum ajmaAAeena
Only the family of Lout is excluded, we will save all of them,

إِلاَّ امْرَأَتَهُ قَدَّرْنَا إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ

60.             Illa imraatahu qaddarna innaha lamina alghabireena
Except his wife about whom (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala, Says) WE have destined that she will be among those who will remain behind." (R) 4

فَلَمَّا جَاء آلَ لُوطٍ الْمُرْسَلُونَ

61.             Falamma jaa ala lootin almursaloona
When these messengers reached to Lout.

قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ

62.             Qala innakum qawmun munkaroona
Then he said: "You people look strangers to me."

قَالُواْ بَلْ جِئْنَاكَ بِمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ

63.             Qaloo bal jinaka bima kanoo feehi yamtaroona
They replied: "Absolutely not, we have brought the same thing about which they were doubting.

وَأَتَيْنَاكَ بَالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَادِقُونَ

64.             Waataynaka bialhaqqi wainna lasadiqoona
We are telling you the truth that we came to you with truth.

فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ وَاتَّبِعْ أَدْبَارَهُمْ وَلاَ يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ وَامْضُواْ حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ

65.             Faasri biahlika biqitAAin mina allayli waittabiAA adbarahum wala yaltafit minkum ahadun waimdoo haythu tumaroona
Therefore, now you should depart with your family during the last hour of the night and you walk behind them.  No one among you should look behind.  Just keep going straight where you are being commanded to go."

وَقَضَيْنَا إِلَيْهِ ذَلِكَ الأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَؤُلاء مَقْطُوعٌ مُّصْبِحِينَ

66.             Waqadayna ilayhi thalika alamra anna dabira haolai maqtooAAun musbiheena
And WE delivered him OUR verdict that early morning the roots of these people will be eradicated.

وَجَاء أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ

67.             Wajaa ahlu almadeenati yastabshiroona
Meanwhile the people of the city came rejoicing to the house of Lout.

قَالَ إِنَّ هَؤُلاء ضَيْفِي فَلاَ تَفْضَحُونِ

68.             Qala inna haolai dayfee fala tafdahooni
Lout said: "Brothers! They are my guests, so do not disgrace me,

وَاتَّقُوا اللّهَ وَلاَ تُخْزُونِ

69.             Waittaqoo Allaha wala tukhzooni
Fear Allâh and do not dishonor me."

قَالُوا أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ

70.             Qaloo awa lam nanhaka AAani alAAalameena
They replied, "Have we not prohibited you that do not become the protector of all the world"?

قَالَ هَؤُلاء بَنَاتِي إِن كُنتُمْ فَاعِلِينَ

71.             Qala haolai banatee in kuntum faAAileena
Lout (helplessly) said: "If you have to do anything then here are my daughters (to marry them lawfully)"!

لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِي سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ

72.             LaAAamruka innahum lafee sakratihim yaAAmahoona
By your life O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), at that time they were so intoxicated (with lust) with which they were going outrageous.

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ

73.             Faakhathathumu alssayhatu mushriqeena
Finally early in the morning a severe blast (As-Saîhah) overtook them;

فَجَعَلْنَا عَالِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ

74.             FajaAAalna AAaliyaha safilaha waamtarna AAalayhim hijaratan min sijjeelin
And WE turned that town (of Sodom, in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them with stones of baked clay.

إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَاتٍ لِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ

75.             Inna fee thalika laayatin lilmutawassimeena
There are many signs in this incident for those people who have wisdom.

وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٍ مُّقيمٍ

76.             Wainnaha labisabeelin muqeemin
And that place (where this incident took place) is situated on the highway (going from Makkah to Syria and from Iraq to Egypt, i.e. the present place of the Dead Sea),

إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَةً لِّلْمُؤمِنِينَ

77.             Inna fee thalika laayatan lilmumineena
There is a lesson in it for those people who have Faith.

وَإِن كَانَ أَصْحَابُ الأَيْكَةِ لَظَالِمِينَ

78.             Wain kana ashabu alaykati lathalimeena
And the people of Al-Aikah (dwellers in the wood, of Madyan or Midian) were criminals (Zâlimûn),

فَانتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ

79.             Faintaqamna minhum wainnahuma labiimamin mubeenin
Then see WE also took revenge from them, and the ruined habitation of both of these nations are situated on an open highway. (R) 5

وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَابُ الحِجْرِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

80.             Walaqad kaththaba ashabu alhijri almursaleena
The people of Al-Hijr (the rocky territory) have also denied the Rasools.

وَآتَيْنَاهُمْ آيَاتِنَا فَكَانُواْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ

81.             Waataynahum ayatina fakanoo AAanha muAArideena
WE sent OUR Revelation to them; showed them OUR Signs, but they have been ignoring all of them.

وَكَانُواْ يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا آمِنِينَ

82.             Wakanoo yanhitoona mina aljibali buyootan amineena
They used to build their home by cutting the mountains and they were completely fearless and satisfied.

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِينَ

83.             Faakhathathumu alssayhatu musbiheena
Finally a severe blast (As-Saîhah) overtook them early in the morning

فَمَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ

84.             Fama aghna AAanhum ma kanoo yaksiboona
And their earnings did not help them at all.

وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِلاَّ بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّ السَّاعَةَ لآتِيَةٌ فَاصْفَحِ الصَّفْحَ الْجَمِيلَ

85.             Wama khalaqna alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma illa bialhaqqi wainna alssaAAata laatiyatun faisfahi alssafha aljameela
WE have not created the skies and the earth and everything in it except with truth, and the time of decision is surely going to come, therefore O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), you gently overlook (from the misbehavior of these people).

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الْخَلاَّقُ الْعَلِيمُ

86.             Inna rabbaka huwa alkhallaqu alAAaleemu
Certainly, your Râbb is the Creator of everything and Knows everything.

وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ سَبْعًا مِّنَ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنَ الْعَظِيمَ

87.             Walaqad ataynaka sabAAan mina almathanee waalqurana alAAatheema
WE have given you seven such Verses (Al-Mathâni, Surah Al-Fâtiha) those are worthy of recitation over and over again, and you have been given the Glorious Al-Qur'ân.

لاَ تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَى مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجًا مِّنْهُمْ وَلاَ تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

88.             La tamuddanna AAaynayka ila ma mattaAAna bihi azwajan minhum wala tahzan AAalayhim waikhfid janahaka lilmumineena
You should not look toward this worldly wealth which WE have given to different people from among them, and nor grieve over their condition.  Leave them and incline towards those who brought Faith

وَقُلْ إِنِّي أَنَا النَّذِيرُ الْمُبِينُ

89.             Waqul innee ana alnnatheeru almubeenu
And say (to those who deny), "I am a pure warner."

كَمَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَى المُقْتَسِمِينَ

90.             Kama anzalna AAala almuqtasimeena
This is the same kind of warning as WE had sent down toward the creators of heated discussion,

الَّذِينَ جَعَلُوا الْقُرْآنَ عِضِينَ

91.             Allatheena jaAAaloo alqurana AAideena
Who have segregated their Qur'ân into parts?

فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْأَلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِيْنَ

92.             Fawarabbika lanasalannahum ajmaAAeena
Swear by your Râbb, WE shall certainly ask them

عَمَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ

93.             AAamma kanoo yaAAmaloona
What you have been doing.

فَاصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ

94.             FaisdaAA bima tumaru waaAArid AAani almushrikeena
Therefore O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), proclaim openly that which you are being commanded and do not care at all for the idolaters (Al-Mushrikûn).

إِنَّا كَفَيْنَاكَ الْمُسْتَهْزِئِينَ

95.             Inna kafaynaka almustahzieena
On your behalf WE are sufficient to take those (people) to task who make fun of you

الَّذِينَ يَجْعَلُونَ مَعَ اللّهِ إِلـهًا آخَرَ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ

96.             Allatheena yajAAaloona maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara fasawfa yaAAlamoona
(Those) Who also consider someone else as deity along with Allâh.  Soon they will come to know.

وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ

97.             Walaqad naAAlamu annaka yadeequ sadruka bima yaqooloona
WE know that the things, which these people, say against you from it your heart is disturbed.

فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ السَّاجِدِينَ

98.             Fasabbih bihamdi rabbika wakun mina alssajideena
(The remedy of this is) Glorify your Râbb with HIS praises,

وَاعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَكَ الْيَقِينُ

99.             WaoAAbud rabbaka hatta yatiyaka alyaqeenu
And bow down in prostration before HIM, and keep worshiping your Râbb until that last time which is sure to come. (R) 6

“An-Nahl - The Bee” – (Makki - 16^th Surah)

Total Verses: 128

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ     

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

أَتَى أَمْرُ اللّهِ فَلاَ تَسْتَعْجِلُوهُ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

1.                 Ata amru Allahi fala tastaAAjiloohu subhanahu wataAAala AAamma yushrikoona
The Verdict of Allâh came -- now do not make rush for it.  Pure is HE and Exalted above that idolatry (shirk) which these people are committing.

يُنَزِّلُ الْمَلآئِكَةَ بِالْرُّوحِ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ عَلَى مَن يَشَاء مِنْ عِبَادِهِ أَنْ أَنذِرُواْ أَنَّهُ لاَ إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ أَنَاْ فَاتَّقُونِ

2.                 Yunazzilu almalaikata bialrroohi min amrihi AAala man yashao min AAibadihi an anthiroo annahu la ilaha illa ana faittaqooni
HE Reveals this Word (Rûh) to whom HE Pleases of HIS servants by HIS Commandment through angels (with this guidance that): "Warn (the people), that except ME there is none worthy of worship (Lâ ilâha illa Ana), so you fear ME Alone.

خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ تَعَالَى عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

3.                Khalaqa alssamawati waalarda bialhaqqi taAAala AAamma yushrikoona
HE has created the skies and the earth with truth; HE is exalted high above that idolatry (shirk) which these people commit.

خَلَقَ الإِنسَانَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌ مُّبِينٌ

4.                Khalaqa alinsana min nutfatin faitha huwa khaseemun mubeenun
HE created human from a little drop of water (Nutfah) and in no time he/she became an open disputant personality.

وَالأَنْعَامَ خَلَقَهَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا دِفْءٌ وَمَنَافِعُ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ

5.                WaalanAAama khalaqaha lakum feeha difon wamanafiAAu waminha takuloona
HE created animals -- in them there is clothing for you as well as food, and also different kinds of other benefits.

وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا جَمَالٌ حِينَ تُرِيحُونَ وَحِينَ تَسْرَحُونَ

6.                Walakum feeha jamalun heena tureehoona waheena tasrahoona
There is beauty for you in them when you send them to pasture in the morning and when bring them home in the evening.

وَتَحْمِلُ أَثْقَالَكُمْ إِلَى بَلَدٍ لَّمْ تَكُونُواْ بَالِغِيهِ إِلاَّ بِشِقِّ الأَنفُسِ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَرَؤُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ

7.                Watahmilu athqalakum ila baladin lam takoonoo baligheehi illa bishiqqi alanfusi inna rabbakum laraoofun raheemun
They carry your load to such places where you could not reach without great trouble.  The fact is that your Râbb is very Loving and Most Merciful.

وَالْخَيْلَ وَالْبِغَالَ وَالْحَمِيرَ لِتَرْكَبُوهَا وَزِينَةً وَيَخْلُقُ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ

8.                Waalkhayla waalbighala waalhameera litarkabooha wazeenatan wayakhluqu ma la taAAlamoona
He created horses, mules and donkeys so that you may ride them and they become beauty of your life.  HE creates many other things (for your benefit) of which you even do not have any knowledge.

وَعَلَى اللّهِ قَصْدُ السَّبِيلِ وَمِنْهَا جَآئِرٌ وَلَوْ شَاء لَهَدَاكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

9.                WaAAala Allahi qasdu alssabeeli waminha jairun walaw shaa lahadakum ajmaAAeena
It is upon Allâh to guide to the Straight Path while there are crooked ways as well.  If HE wanted then would have given Guidance to you all. (R) 7

هُوَ الَّذِي أَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاء مَاء لَّكُم مِّنْهُ شَرَابٌ وَمِنْهُ شَجَرٌ فِيهِ تُسِيمُونَ

10.             Huwa allathee anzala mina alssamai maan lakum minhu sharabun waminhu shajarun feehi tuseemoona
HE is the One WHO sent down water (rain) from the sky; from it you saturate yourselves and (it) also grows food for your cattle.

يُنبِتُ لَكُم بِهِ الزَّرْعَ وَالزَّيْتُونَ وَالنَّخِيلَ وَالأَعْنَابَ وَمِن كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

11.             Yunbitu lakum bihi alzzarAAa waalzzaytoona waalnnakheela waalaAAnaba wamin kulli alththamarati inna fee thalika laayatan liqawmin yatafakkaroona
HE causes to grow with it the crops and olives and date-palm trees and grapes and different kinds of many other fruits.  There is a great sign in it for those people who ponder over.

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ وَالْنَّهَارَ وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ وَالْنُّجُومُ مُسَخَّرَاتٌ بِأَمْرِهِ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ

12.             Wasakhkhara lakumu allayla waalnnahara waalshshamsa waalqamara waalnnujoomu musakhkharatun biamrihi inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yaAAqiloona
HE has subjected the night and the day and the sun and the moon for your benefit and all the stars are also subjected by HIS Command.  There are many signs in it for those people who use their common sense.

وَمَا ذَرَأَ لَكُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ مُخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَانُهُ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَذَّكَّرُونَ

13.             Wama tharaa lakum fee alardi mukhtalifan alwanuhu inna fee thalika laayatan liqawmin yaththakkaroona
And for you HE has created many different sorts of things in the earth, there is surely a sign in it as well for those people who learn lesson.

وَهُوَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ الْبَحْرَ لِتَأْكُلُواْ مِنْهُ لَحْمًا طَرِيًّا وَتَسْتَخْرِجُواْ مِنْهُ حِلْيَةً تَلْبَسُونَهَا وَتَرَى الْفُلْكَ مَوَاخِرَ فِيهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُواْ مِن فَضْلِهِ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

14.             Wahuwa allathee sakhkhara albahra litakuloo minhu lahman tariyyan watastakhrijoo minhu hilyatan talbasoonaha watara alfulka mawakhira feehi walitabtaghoo min fadlihi walaAAallakum tashkuroona
HE is the One WHO has subjected the sea for you so that you get and eat the fresh and tender meat from it, and obtain those things of beauty, which you wear.  You see that the boat sails over the surface of the sea.  This is all for the reason that you may seek the Bounty of your Râbb and become grateful to HIM.

وَأَلْقَى فِي الأَرْضِ رَوَاسِيَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَأَنْهَارًا وَسُبُلاً لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ

15.             Waalqa fee alardi rawasiya an tameeda bikum waanharan wasubulan laAAallakum tahtadoona
HE has fixed the nails of mountains in the earth so that earth should not roll away with you.  HE channeled rivers and made natural pathways -- so that you may get guidance.

وَعَلامَاتٍ وَبِالنَّجْمِ هُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ

16.             WaAAalamatin wabialnnajmi hum yahtadoona
HE placed the landmarks on the earth for guidance, and people also get guidance from stars.

أَفَمَن يَخْلُقُ كَمَن لاَّ يَخْلُقُ أَفَلا تَذَكَّرُونَ

17.             Afaman yakhluqu kaman la yakhluqu afala tathakkaroona
Then what, the One WHO creates and those who do not create anything both are equal?  Do you not come into your senses?

وَإِن تَعُدُّواْ نِعْمَةَ اللّهِ لاَ تُحْصُوهَا إِنَّ اللّهَ لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

18.             Wain taAAuddoo niAAmata Allahi la tuhsooha inna Allaha laghafoorun raheemun
If you want to count the Blessings of Allâh -- you cannot count them, the truth is that HE is Oft-Forgiving and Merciful,

وَاللّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُسِرُّونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُونَ

19.             WaAllahu yaAAlamu ma tusirroona wama tuAAlinoona
Whereas HE is aware of your exposed as well as your hidden ones.

وَالَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللّهِ لاَ يَخْلُقُونَ شَيْئًا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ

20.             Waallatheena yadAAoona min dooni Allahi la yakhluqoona shayan wahum yukhlaqoona
And those other beings (personalities) whom people invoke except Allâh they are not creators of anything but they themselves are creatures.

أَمْواتٌ غَيْرُ أَحْيَاء وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُونَ

21.             Amwatun ghayru ahyain wama yashAAuroona ayyana yubAAathoona
(They) Are dead not alive.  And they do not know anything that when they will be raised (again to life). (R) 8

إِلَهُكُمْ إِلَهٌ وَاحِدٌ فَالَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالآخِرَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مُّنكِرَةٌ وَهُم مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَ

22.             Ilahukum ilahun wahidun faallatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati quloobuhum munkiratun wahum mustakbiroona
Your Ilâh (Allâh) is Only One Allâh.  But those people who do not believe in the Hereafter the denial has resided in their hearts and they have become arrogant.

لاَ جَرَمَ أَنَّ اللّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ إِنَّهُ لاَ يُحِبُّ الْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَ

23.             La jarama anna Allaha yaAAlamu ma yusirroona wama yuAAlinoona innahu la yuhibbu almustakbireena
Allâh certainly knows all their deeds, the secret as well as open.  HE does not like those people who are arrogant with self-pride.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُم مَّاذَا أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمْ قَالُواْ أَسَاطِيرُ الأَوَّلِينَ

24.             Waitha qeela lahum matha anzala rabbukum qaloo asateeru alawwaleena
And when anyone asks them that what your Râbb has revealed, they say: "O well, those are the corrupt tales of old times."

لِيَحْمِلُواْ أَوْزَارَهُمْ كَامِلَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمِنْ أَوْزَارِ الَّذِينَ يُضِلُّونَهُم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ أَلاَ سَاء مَا يَزِرُونَ

25.             Liyahmiloo awzarahum kamilatan yawma alqiyamati wamin awzari allatheena yudilloonahum bighayri AAilmin ala saa ma yaziroona
They utter such things so that on the Day of Resurrection they should carry their full burdens, and in addition some of the burdens of those people whom they are misleading without knowledge.  Look! How hard the responsibility is which they are taking on themselves! (R) 9

قَدْ مَكَرَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَأَتَى اللّهُ بُنْيَانَهُم مِّنَ الْقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّقْفُ مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَأَتَاهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لاَ يَشْعُرُونَ

26.             Qad makara allatheena min qablihim faata Allahu bunyanahum mina alqawaAAidi fakharra AAalayhimu alssaqfu min fawqihim waatahumu alAAathabu min haythu la yashAAuroona
Before them many people have done such cunning things (to defeat the truth), but Look! Allâh eradicated the foundation of their cunning building from the root and its roof fell down upon them from the above and the torment came on them from such direction of which they even had not thought of its coming. 

ثُمَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُخْزِيهِمْ وَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآئِيَ الَّذِينَ كُنتُمْ تُشَاقُّونَ فِيهِمْ قَالَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ الْعِلْمَ إِنَّ الْخِزْيَ الْيَوْمَ وَالْسُّوءَ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ

27.             Thumma yawma alqiyamati yukhzeehim wayaqoolu ayna shurakaiya allatheena kuntum tushaqqoona feehim qala allatheena ootoo alAAilma inna alkhizya alyawma waalssooa AAala alkafireena
Then on the Day of Judgment Allâh will humiliate them.  And will ask them: "Now tell where are those MY partner deities about whom you used to dispute (with the believers)"?--Those people who had the knowledge in the world they will say: "Today there is disgrace and misfortune for the infidels (Kafir)."

الَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّاهُمُ الْمَلائِكَةُ ظَالِمِي أَنفُسِهِمْ فَأَلْقَوُاْ السَّلَمَ مَا كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ مِن سُوءٍ بَلَى إِنَّ اللّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

28.             Allatheena tatawaffahumu almalaikatu thalimee anfusihim faalqawoo alssalama ma kunna naAAmalu min sooin bala inna Allaha AAaleemun bima kuntum taAAmaloona
Yes, for the same infidels (Kafir) who were caught by the angels while they were doing wrong to their souls then they immediately surrender (leaving the rebellion) and say: "We were not doing any thing wrong."  Angels replied: "How come -- you were not doing! Allâh is aware of all your misdeeds.

فَادْخُلُواْ أَبْوَابَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا فَلَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى الْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ

29.             Faodkhuloo abwaba jahannama khalideena feeha falabisa mathwa almutakabbireena
Now go; enter into the gates of Hell.  There you have to stay forever."  Therefore the fact is that it is the worst destination for the arrogants.

وَقِيلَ لِلَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْاْ مَاذَا أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمْ قَالُواْ خَيْرًا لِّلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُواْ فِي هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةٌ وَلَدَارُ الآخِرَةِ خَيْرٌ وَلَنِعْمَ دَارُ الْمُتَّقِينَ

30.             Waqeela lillatheena ittaqaw matha anzala rabbukum qaloo khayran lillatheena ahsanoo fee hathihi alddunya hasanatun waladaru alakhirati khayrun walaniAAma daru almuttaqeena
On the other side when it is asked from the people who fear Allâh (Muttaqûn) that what is that, which has been revealed from your Râbb, they replied: "The excellent thing has been revealed."  For such pious people there is all good in this world and the home of the Hereafter is surely best for them.  The pious people (Muttaqûn) have an excellent home,

جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ يَدْخُلُونَهَا تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ لَهُمْ فِيهَا مَا يَشَآؤُونَ كَذَلِكَ يَجْزِي اللّهُ الْمُتَّقِينَ

31.             Jannatu AAadnin yadkhuloonaha tajree min tahtiha alanharu lahum feeha ma yashaoona kathalika yajzee Allahu almuttaqeena
They will enter in everlasting Gardens ('Adn, Eden Paradise), underneath that canals will be flowing, and there everything will be done according to their wish.  This is the reward Allâh gives to the pious people (Muttaqûn).

الَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّاهُمُ الْمَلآئِكَةُ طَيِّبِينَ يَقُولُونَ سَلامٌ عَلَيْكُمُ ادْخُلُواْ الْجَنَّةَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

32.             Allatheena tatawaffahumu almalaikatu tayyibeena yaqooloona salamun AAalaykumu odkhuloo aljannata bima kuntum taAAmaloona
To those pious people whose souls are possessed by angels in pure state, saying (to them): peace be on you (Salâmun 'Alaikum), go into Paradise as a reward of your good deeds."

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلاَّ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمُ الْمَلائِكَةُ أَوْ يَأْتِيَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ كَذَلِكَ فَعَلَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ اللّهُ وَلـكِن كَانُواْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ

33.             Hal yanthuroona illa an tatiyahumu almalaikatu aw yatiya amru rabbika kathalika faAAala allatheena min qablihim wama thalamahumu Allahu walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), now when these people are waiting what else is left except this that angels should come down, or the judgment of your Râbb should be passed?  Before them many people have done the same type of rudeness.  Then whatever happened to them it was not the unkindness of Allâh on them but it was their own cruelty, which they did on themselves.

فَأَصَابَهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُ مَا عَمِلُواْ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِؤُونَ

34.             Faasabahum sayyiatu ma AAamiloo wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona
Eventually, the results of their evil deeds surrounded them and the same thing overtook them for which they used to make fun. (R) 10

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ لَوْ شَاء اللّهُ مَا عَبَدْنَا مِن دُونِهِ مِن شَيْءٍ نَّحْنُ وَلا آبَاؤُنَا وَلاَ حَرَّمْنَا مِن دُونِهِ مِن شَيْءٍ كَذَلِكَ فَعَلَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَهَلْ عَلَى الرُّسُلِ إِلاَّ الْبَلاغُ الْمُبِينُ

35.             Waqala allatheena ashrakoo law shaa Allahu ma AAabadna min doonihi min shayin nahnu wala abaona wala harramna min doonihi min shayin kathalika faAAala allatheena min qablihim fahal AAala alrrusuli illa albalaghu almubeenu
These idolaters (Mushriks) say: "If Allâh wanted then neither we nor our forefathers would have worshipped anyone else except HIM, and nor (we) would have made anything forbidden without HIS Command."  Those people who were before them have been making the same kinds of excuses.  Then! Is there any other responsibility on the Rasools except to convey the message clearly?

وَلَقَدْ بَعَثْنَا فِي كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ رَّسُولاً أَنِ اعْبُدُواْ اللّهَ وَاجْتَنِبُواْ الطَّاغُوتَ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ هَدَى اللّهُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ حَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِ الضَّلالَةُ فَسِيرُواْ فِي الأَرْضِ فَانظُرُواْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ

36.             Walaqad baAAathna fee kulli ommatin rasoolan ani oAAbudoo Allaha waijtaniboo alttaghoota faminhum man hada Allahu waminhum man haqqat AAalayhi alddalalatu faseeroo fee alardi faonthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu almukaththibeena
WE sent Rasool among every nation (Ummâh), and warned everyone through him that, "Serve Allâh Alone and withdraw from the service of Tâghût (falsehood)."  After this Allâh blessed some of them with guidance and humiliation was forced on some of them.  Then travel through the land and see what has been the end result of those who denied (the truth)--

إِن تَحْرِصْ عَلَى هُدَاهُمْ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يَهْدِي مَن يُضِلُّ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّاصِرِينَ

37.             In tahris AAala hudahum fainna Allaha la yahdee man yudillu wama lahum min nasireena
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), no matter how anxious you may be for their guidance, but whom Allâh let go astray then (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) does not give him/her the guidance and no one can do any help to such people.

وَأَقْسَمُواْ بِاللّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَانِهِمْ لاَ يَبْعَثُ اللّهُ مَن يَمُوتُ بَلَى وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّا وَلـكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ

38.             Waaqsamoo biAllahi jahda aymanihim la yabAAathu Allahu man yamootu bala waAAdan AAalayhi haqqan walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona
These people swear their strongest oaths by Allâh that "Allâh will not raise again to life the one who dies"--Why will not raise (them up)?  This is a promise that HE has made binding on HIMSELF to fulfill, but most of the people do not know.

لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ الَّذِي يَخْتَلِفُونَ فِيهِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ كَاذِبِينَ

39.             Liyubayyina lahumu allathee yakhtalifoona feehi waliyaAAlama allatheena kafaroo annahum kanoo kathibeena
And it is necessary to be so (to fulfill this promise) that Allâh may manifest the truth before them about which they are disputing, and the denier of the truth should come to know that they were the liars (regarding its possibility, then).

إِنَّمَا قَوْلُنَا لِشَيْءٍ إِذَا أَرَدْنَاهُ أَن نَّقُولَ لَهُ كُن فَيَكُونُ

40.             Innama qawluna lishayin itha aradnahu an naqoola lahu kun fayakoonu
To bring anything into existence WE do not have to do anything more then just to command it: "Be!" and so it becomes. (R) 11

وَالَّذِينَ هَاجَرُواْ فِي اللّهِ مِن بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُواْ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَلَأَجْرُ الآخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُواْ يَعْلَمُونَ

41.             Waallatheena hajaroo fee Allahi min baAAdi ma thulimoo lanubawwiannahum fee alddunya hasanatan walaajru alakhirati akbaru law kanoo yaAAlamoona
Those people who have migrated for the sake of Allâh after suffering, WE will give them good residence in this world and the reward of the Hereafter is surely greater. Would that!  The oppressed come to know (what an excellent end is waiting for those)

الَّذِينَ صَبَرُواْ وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ

42.             Allatheena sabaroo waAAala rabbihim yatawakkaloona
Who remained patient and those who are doing their task by trusting their Râbb.

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ إِلاَّ رِجَالاً نُّوحِي إِلَيْهِمْ فَاسْأَلُواْ أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ

43.             Wama arsalna min qablika illa rijalan noohee ilayhim faisaloo ahla alththikri in kuntum la taAAlamoona
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), whenever WE sent Rasools before you WE have sent men (as Rasool), towards whom WE used to reveal OUR Messages. If you people (of Makkah) do not know yourselves then ask from the people of Scripture (learned people of Taurât and Injeel).

بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالزُّبُرِ وَأَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الذِّكْرَ لِتُبَيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا نُزِّلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

44.             Bialbayyinati waalzzuburi waanzalna ilayka alththikra litubayyina lilnnasi ma nuzzila ilayhim walaAAallahum yatafakkaroona
WE had sent the former Rasools with clear Signs and Books, and now (WE) have revealed this Advice (Al-Qur'ân) to you so that you clearly keep explaining the teachings (of Al-Qur'ân) to the people that has been revealed for them, and so that people ponder on it (themselves).

أَفَأَمِنَ الَّذِينَ مَكَرُواْ السَّيِّئَاتِ أَن يَخْسِفَ اللّهُ بِهِمُ الأَرْضَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لاَ يَشْعُرُونَ

45.             Afaamina allatheena makaroo alssayyiati an yakhsifa Allahu bihimu alarda aw yatiyahumu alAAathabu min haythu la yashAAuroona
Then! Do those people who (in opposition to the invitation of Prophet, Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) are devising the worst evil plots have become fearless from this thing that Allâh cause them to penetrate into the earth, or bring the torment on them from such direction of which they do not have any suspicion of it,

أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ فِي تَقَلُّبِهِمْ فَمَا هُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ

46.             Aw yakhuthahum fee taqallubihim fama hum bimuAAjizeena
Or suddenly seize them while walking around, or seize them in such a condition when they themselves have the fear of upcoming torment and they are vigilant to avoid it?

أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ عَلَى تَخَوُّفٍ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَرؤُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ

47.             Aw yakhuthahum AAala takhawwufin fainna rabbakum laraoofun raheemun
Whatever HE wants to do; these people do not have the power to escape.  The truth is that your Râbb is very Forbearing and Loving.

أَوَ لَمْ يَرَوْاْ إِلَى مَا خَلَقَ اللّهُ مِن شَيْءٍ يَتَفَيَّأُ ظِلاَلُهُ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَالْشَّمَآئِلِ سُجَّدًا لِلّهِ وَهُمْ دَاخِرُونَ

48.             Awa lam yaraw ila ma khalaqa Allahu min shayin yatafayyao thilaluhu AAani alyameeni waalshshamaili sujjadan lillahi wahum dakhiroona
And do these people not observe anything created by Allâh that how its shadow bows down in prostration before Allâh falling left and right?  In this way everything is expressing its humbleness.

وَلِلّهِ يَسْجُدُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ مِن دَآبَّةٍ وَالْمَلآئِكَةُ وَهُمْ لاَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ

49.             Walillahi yasjudu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi min dabbatin waalmalaikatu wahum la yastakbiroona
All the living beings on the earth and in the skies and all the angels are prostrating before Allâh.  They never rebel,

يَخَافُونَ رَبَّهُم مِّن فَوْقِهِمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ(Al-Sajjdah)

50.             Yakhafoona rabbahum min fawqihim wayafAAaloona ma yumaroona
They fear their Râbb WHO is above them and whatever is commanded they do according to it. (R) 12.

وَقَالَ اللّهُ لاَ تَتَّخِذُواْ إِلـهَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلهٌ وَاحِدٌ فَإيَّايَ فَارْهَبُونِ

51.             Waqala Allahu la tattakhithoo ilahayni ithnayni innama huwa ilahun wahidun faiyyaya fairhabooni
It is command of Allâh! "Do not take two gods (ilâhaîn), Allâh (Ilâh) is only One.  Therefore you only fear ME (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala)".

وَلَهُ مَا فِي الْسَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَلَهُ الدِّينُ وَاصِبًا أَفَغَيْرَ اللّهِ تَتَّقُونَ

52.             Walahu ma fee alssamawati waalardi walahu alddeenu wasiban afaghayra Allahi tattaqoona
All that which is in the skies and in the earth belongs to HIM and purely HIS Deen (Ad-Din Wasiba, law or Islamic way of life) is ruling (in the universe).  Will you then fear anyone else except Allâh?

وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللّهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ فَإِلَيْهِ تَجْأَرُونَ

53.             Wama bikum min niAAmatin famina Allahi thumma itha massakumu alddurru failayhi tajaroona
Whatever of the blessings you have -- are from Allâh Alone. And when a difficult time comes on you then you people run to HIM with your supplications.

ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ الضُّرَّ عَنكُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنكُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ

54.             Thumma itha kashafa alddurra AAankum itha fareequn minkum birabbihim yushrikoona
But when Allâh postpones that time (of difficulty), then suddenly one group among you starts associating others with its Râbb (in recognition of this favor). 

لِيَكْفُرُواْ بِمَا آتَيْنَاهُمْ فَتَمَتَّعُواْ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ

55.             Liyakfuroo bima ataynahum fatamattaAAoo fasawfa taAAlamoona
Therefore to show ungratefulness to the favor of Allâh.  Well, enjoy, soon you will come to know. 

وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِمَا لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ نَصِيبًا مِّمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ تَاللّهِ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمْ تَفْتَرُونَ

56.             WayajAAaloona lima la yaAAlamoona naseeban mimma razaqnahum taAllahi latusalunna AAamma kuntum taftaroona
From the provisions WE have given these people set aside shares for those (deities) whose reality they do not know --By Allâh you will certainly be asked that how you had fabricated these lies? 

وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِلّهِ الْبَنَاتِ سُبْحَانَهُ وَلَهُم مَّا يَشْتَهُونَ

57.             WayajAAaloona lillahi albanati subhanahu walahum ma yashtahoona
They assign daughters to Allâh. Glory is to Allâh! And for them is that which they want themselves?

وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُمْ بِالأُنثَى ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُ مُسْوَدًّا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ

58.             Waitha bushshira ahaduhum bialontha thalla wajhuhu muswaddan wahuwa katheemun
When good news of the birth of a daughter is given to anyone of him then darkness prevails over his face and he only sallows the inward grief.

يَتَوَارَى مِنَ الْقَوْمِ مِن سُوءِ مَا بُشِّرَ بِهِ أَيُمْسِكُهُ عَلَى هُونٍ أَمْ يَدُسُّهُ فِي التُّرَابِ أَلاَ سَاء مَا يَحْكُمُونَ

59.             Yatawara mina alqawmi min sooi ma bushshira bihi ayumsikuhu AAala hoonin am yadussuhu fee altturabi ala saa ma yahkumoona
He hides himself from the people that how to face anyone after this bad news.  He thinks that whether to keep the daughter with humiliation or bury her in earth?--Look how evil is their decision, which they make about Allâh.

لِلَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالآخِرَةِ مَثَلُ السَّوْءِ وَلِلّهِ الْمَثَلُ الأَعْلَىَ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ

60.             Lillatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati mathalu alssawi walillahi almathalu alaAAla wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu
Those people deserve to be ascribed the evil attributes who do not believe in the Hereafter. Regarding Allâh all the excellent attributes are for HIM, HE is prevailing over everything and perfect in Wisdom. (R) 13

وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ اللّهُ النَّاسَ بِظُلْمِهِم مَّا تَرَكَ عَلَيْهَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ وَلَكِن يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ إلَى أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى فَإِذَا جَاء أَجَلُهُمْ لاَ يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً وَلاَ يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ

61.             Walaw yuakhithu Allahu alnnasa bithulmihim ma taraka AAalayha min dabbatin walakin yuakhkhiruhum ila ajalin musamman faitha jaa ajaluhum la yastakhiroona saAAatan wala yastaqdimoona
If Allâh were to seize mankind immediately for their wrong doings then HE would not have spared any living being on this earth.  But HE gives respite to everyone for a fixed period of time, when that time comes then from it no one can delay or advance by a second (or a moment).

وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِلّهِ مَا يَكْرَهُونَ وَتَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُهُمُ الْكَذِبَ أَنَّ لَهُمُ الْحُسْنَى لاَ جَرَمَ أَنَّ لَهُمُ الْنَّارَ وَأَنَّهُم مُّفْرَطُونَ

62.             WayajAAaloona lillahi ma yakrahoona watasifu alsinatuhumu alkathiba anna lahumu alhusna la jarama anna lahumu alnnara waannahum mufratoona
Today these people are suggesting such things for Allâh that they do not like for themselves, and their tongues utter lies that there is all good for them.  There is only one thing for them, and that is the fire of Hell.  Certainly they will be the first to be sent there.

تَاللّهِ لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَى أُمَمٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمُ الْيَوْمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

63.             TaAllahi laqad arsalna ila omamin min qablika fazayyana lahumu alshshaytanu aAAmalahum fahuwa waliyyuhumu alyawma walahum AAathabun aleemun
By Allâh O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), WE have sent Rasools to many nations before you (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, and it has been happing before that) Shaitân made their misdeeds pleasing to them (and they did not accept the message of Rasools).  Today the same Satan has also become patron (Walî) of these people and they are becoming the right candidates of the serve punishment.

وَمَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ إِلاَّ لِتُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ الَّذِي اخْتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ

64.             Wama anzalna AAalayka alkitaba illa litubayyina lahumu allathee ikhtalafoo feehi wahudan warahmatan liqawmin yuminoona
WE have revealed this Book (Al-Qur'ân) to you for the purpose that you should disclose the truth of those differences in which these people have indulged.  This Book has come as Guidance and Blessing for those people who embrace it.

وَاللّهُ أَنزَلَ مِنَ الْسَّمَاء مَاء فَأَحْيَا بِهِ الأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَسْمَعُونَ

65.             WaAllahu anzala mina alssamai maan faahya bihi alarda baAAda mawtiha inna fee thalika laayatan liqawmin yasmaAAoona
(You see in every rainy season that) Allâh sent down water (rain) from the sky and by it suddenly gave life to the dead lying earth.  Surely there is a sign in it for those who listen. (R) 14

وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِي الأَنْعَامِ لَعِبْرَةً نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِي بُطُونِهِ مِن بَيْنِ فَرْثٍ وَدَمٍ لَّبَنًا خَالِصًا سَآئِغًا لِلشَّارِبِينَ

66.             Wainna lakum fee alanAAami laAAibratan nusqeekum mimma fee butoonihi min bayni farthin wadamin labanan khalisan saighan lilshsharibeena
And there is a lesson for you in cattle.  WE give you a thing to drink from their bellies in between the filth and blood, means pure milk, which is very delicious for those who drink it. 

وَمِن ثَمَرَاتِ النَّخِيلِ وَالأَعْنَابِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِنْهُ سَكَرًا وَرِزْقًا حَسَنًا إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ

67.             Wamin thamarati alnnakheeli waalaAAnabi tattakhithoona minhu sakaran warizqan hasanan inna fee thalika laayatan liqawmin yaAAqiloona
(Same way) WE give you a thing from the date-palm trees and grapes to drink, which you make intoxicating (alcoholic drinks) and also pure provisions.  Certainly, there is a sign in it for those who use common sense.

وَأَوْحَى رَبُّكَ إِلَى النَّحْلِ أَنِ اتَّخِذِي مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا وَمِنَ الشَّجَرِ وَمِمَّا يَعْرِشُونَ

68.             Waawha rabbuka ila alnnahli ani ittakhithee mina aljibali buyootan wamina alshshajari wamimma yaAArishoona
And Look! Your Râbb has inspired this thing to the Bee that builds honeycombs (hive) in the mountains, and on the trees, and on the creeper (branches) over the fences,

ثُمَّ كُلِي مِن كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ فَاسْلُكِي سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلاً يَخْرُجُ مِن بُطُونِهَا شَرَابٌ مُّخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَانُهُ فِيهِ شِفَاء لِلنَّاسِ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

69.             Thumma kulee min kulli alththamarati faoslukee subula rabbiki thululan yakhruju min butooniha sharabun mukhtalifun alwanuhu feehi shifaon lilnnasi inna fee thalika laayatan liqawmin yatafakkaroona
And suck juice from all kinds of fruits, and keep following the smooth ways of your Râbb.  Syrup of different colors comes out from the Bee, in which there is a cure for the people.  Certainly, there is a sign in it as well for those people who ponder.

وَاللّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَفَّاكُمْ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَى أَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ لِكَيْ لاَ يَعْلَمَ بَعْدَ عِلْمٍ شَيْئًا إِنَّ اللّهَ عَلِيمٌ قَدِيرٌ

70.             WaAllahu khalaqakum thumma yatawaffakum waminkum man yuraddu ila arthali alAAumuri likay la yaAAlama baAAda AAilmin shayan inna Allaha AAaleemun qadeerun
And Look! Allâh created you, then HE gives you death, and some among you are sent to feeble old age (second childhood) so that after knowing everything should not know anything.  The truth is that Allâh is perfect in Knowledge as well as in Attributes. (R) 15

وَاللّهُ فَضَّلَ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ فِي الْرِّزْقِ فَمَا الَّذِينَ فُضِّلُواْ بِرَآدِّي رِزْقِهِمْ عَلَى مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ فَهُمْ فِيهِ سَوَاء أَفَبِنِعْمَةِ اللّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ

71.             WaAllahu faddala baAAdakum AAala baAAdin fee alrrizqi fama allatheena fuddiloo biraddee rizqihim AAala ma malakat aymanuhum fahum feehi sawaon afabiniAAmati Allahi yajhadoona
And Look! Allâh has given more provisions to some of you above others.  Then those people whom this blessing has been given they are not such that they turn their provisions to their salves so that both become equal shareholder in those provisions.  Then! Do these people only refuse to acknowledge the Favor of Allâh?

وَاللّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَاجِكُم بَنِينَ وَحَفَدَةً وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ أَفَبِالْبَاطِلِ يُؤْمِنُونَ وَبِنِعْمَتِ اللّهِ هُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ

72.             WaAllahu jaAAala lakum min anfusikum azwajan wajaAAala lakum min azwajikum baneena wahafadatan warazaqakum mina alttayyibati afabialbatili yuminoona wabiniAAmati Allahi hum yakfuroona
And HE is Allâh WHO has created for you; wives of your own kind and HE gave you sons and grandsons from these wives and gave you good things to eat.  Then do these people (after seeing and knowing all this) believe in falsehood and deny the Favor of Allâh

وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللّهِ مَا لاَ يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ رِزْقًا مِّنَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ شَيْئًا وَلاَ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ

73.             WayaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi ma la yamliku lahum rizqan mina alssamawati waalardi shayan wala yastateeAAoona
And they worship those except Allâh who do not have any power to give them provisions from the skies nor from the earth and nor they can do so?

فَلاَ تَضْرِبُواْ لِلّهِ الأَمْثَالَ إِنَّ اللّهَ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ

74.             Fala tadriboo lillahi alamthala inna Allaha yaAAlamu waantum la taAAlamoona
Therefore do not fabricate examples for Allâh, Allâh Knows, you do not know.

ضَرَبَ اللّهُ مَثَلاً عَبْدًا مَّمْلُوكًا لاَّ يَقْدِرُ عَلَى شَيْءٍ وَمَن رَّزَقْنَاهُ مِنَّا رِزْقًا حَسَنًا فَهُوَ يُنفِقُ مِنْهُ سِرًّا وَجَهْرًا هَلْ يَسْتَوُونَ الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ

75.             Daraba Allahu mathalan AAabdan mamlookan la yaqdiru AAala shayin waman razaqnahu minna rizqan hasanan fahuwa yunfiqu minhu sirran wajahran hal yastawoona alhamdu lillahi bal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoona
Allâh gives an example.  There is a slave, who is someone's property and he does not has any authority.  The other person is such whom WE OURSELF have given good provisions and he spends from it openly and secretly.  Tell -- are they both equal?--All praises are for Allâh but most of the people do not know (this straightforward thing).

وَضَرَبَ اللّهُ مَثَلاً رَّجُلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا أَبْكَمُ لاَ يَقْدِرُ عَلَىَ شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ كَلٌّ عَلَى مَوْلاهُ أَيْنَمَا يُوَجِّههُّ لاَ يَأْتِ بِخَيْرٍ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي هُوَ وَمَن يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَهُوَ عَلَى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

76.             Wadaraba Allahu mathalan rajulayni ahaduhuma abkamu la yaqdiru AAala shayin wahuwa kallun AAala mawlahu aynama yuwajjihhu la yati bikhayrin hal yastawee huwa waman yamuru bialAAadli wahuwa AAala siratin mustaqeemin
Allâh gives another example.  There are two people. One is deaf and dumb, cannot do anything, he is a burden on his master, wherever he sends him he brings nothing good.  The other person is such (who) enjoins for the justice and he himself is on a Straight Path. Tell -- are they both equal? (R) 16

وَلِلّهِ غَيْبُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا أَمْرُ السَّاعَةِ إِلاَّ كَلَمْحِ الْبَصَرِ أَوْ هُوَ أَقْرَبُ إِنَّ اللّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

77.             Walillahi ghaybu alssamawati waalardi wama amru alssaAAati illa kalamhi albasari aw huwa aqrabu inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun
And Allâh Alone has the knowledge of all the hidden things of the skies and the earth.  And the occurrence of Doom’s Day will not take much time but only this much in which a person can blink his/her eye, rather even less than it--the truth is that Allâh can do all things.

وَاللّهُ أَخْرَجَكُم مِّن بُطُونِ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ شَيْئًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْسَّمْعَ وَالأَبْصَارَ وَالأَفْئِدَةَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

78.             WaAllahu akhrajakum min butooni ommahatikum la taAAlamoona shayan wajaAAala lakumu alssamAAa waalabsara waalafidata laAAallakum tashkuroona
Allâh brought you out from the wombs of your mothers while you knew nothing.  HE gave you ears, eyes and thinking hearts, so that you become thankful.

أَلَمْ يَرَوْاْ إِلَى الطَّيْرِ مُسَخَّرَاتٍ فِي جَوِّ السَّمَاء مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلاَّ اللّهُ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ

79.             Alam yaraw ila alttayri musakhkharatin fee jawwi alssamai ma yumsikuhunna illa Allahu inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yuminoona
Have these people never seen birds that how (they are) held (flying) in the vastness of the sky?  Who holds them up except Allâh?  There are many signs in it for those people who bring Faith.

وَاللّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّن بُيُوتِكُمْ سَكَنًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّن جُلُودِ الأَنْعَامِ بُيُوتًا تَسْتَخِفُّونَهَا يَوْمَ ظَعْنِكُمْ وَيَوْمَ إِقَامَتِكُمْ وَمِنْ أَصْوَافِهَا وَأَوْبَارِهَا وَأَشْعَارِهَا أَثَاثًا وَمَتَاعًا إِلَى حِينٍ

80.             WaAllahu jaAAala lakum min buyootikum sakanan wajaAAala lakum min juloodi alanAAami buyootan tastakhiffoonaha yawma thaAAnikum wayawma iqamatikum wamin aswafiha waawbariha waashAAariha athathan wamataAAan ila heenin
Allâh made your homes place of rest for you. HE created such homes (tents) for you from the skins of animals that you find light, in travel as well as in stay.  HE created many things for your use and to wear from the wool, fur, and hair of animals, which are utilized for the fixed term of life.

وَاللّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّمَّا خَلَقَ ظِلاَلاً وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ الْجِبَالِ أَكْنَانًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ سَرَابِيلَ تَقِيكُمُ الْحَرَّ وَسَرَابِيلَ تَقِيكُم بَأْسَكُمْ كَذَلِكَ يُتِمُّ نِعْمَتَهُ عَلَيْكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْلِمُونَ

81.             WaAllahu jaAAala lakum mimma khalaqa thilalan wajaAAala lakum mina aljibali aknanan wajaAAala lakum sarabeela taqeekumu alharra wasarabeela taqeekum basakum kathalika yutimmu niAAmatahu AAalaykum laAAallakum tuslimoona
HE made the arrangement of shade for you from many things HE created, made shelters in the mountains for you, and given you such dresses (garments) which protect you from the heat (and cold) and some other garments, which protect you in your battles.  This way HE completes HIS blessings on you so that you may become obedient.

فَإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ الْبَلاَغُ الْمُبِينُ

82.             Fain tawallaw fainnama AAalayka albalaghu almubeenu
Now if these people turn away their faces then O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), you do not have any other responsibility except to convey the message of truth entirely and clearly.

يَعْرِفُونَ نِعْمَتَ اللّهِ ثُمَّ يُنكِرُونَهَا وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ الْكَافِرُونَ

83.             YaAArifoona niAAmata Allahi thumma yunkiroonaha waaktharuhumu alkafiroona
They recognize the Favor of Allâh then deny it.  And the most of the people among them are such who are not to embrace the truth. (R) 17

وَيَوْمَ نَبْعَثُ مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيدًا ثُمَّ لاَ يُؤْذَنُ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَلاَ هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ

84.             Wayawma nabAAathu min kulli ommatin shaheedan thumma la yuthanu lillatheena kafaroo wala hum yustaAAtaboona
(Do they have any sense that what will happen on that day) When WE shall bring a witness from each nation, then neither infidels (Kafir) will be given a chance to present any excuse, nor will they be asked to repent.

وَإِذَا رَأى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ الْعَذَابَ فَلاَ يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ

85.             Waitha raa allatheena thalamoo alAAathaba fala yukhaffafu AAanhum wala hum yuntharoona
The cruel people when once see the torment then after this neither their punishment will be lightened nor will they be given any respite for a moment.

وَإِذَا رَأى الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ شُرَكَاءهُمْ قَالُواْ رَبَّنَا هَـؤُلاء شُرَكَآؤُنَا الَّذِينَ كُنَّا نَدْعُوْ مِن دُونِكَ فَألْقَوْا إِلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلَ إِنَّكُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ

86.             Waitha raa allatheena ashrakoo shurakaahum qaloo rabbana haolai shurakaona allatheena kunna nadAAoo min doonika faalqaw ilayhimu alqawla innakum lakathiboona
And when those people who had committed idolatry (Shirk) in this world will see their taken deities (idols), they will say: "Our Râbb! These are our deities whom we used to invoke except YOU."  At this their deities (ilâhan) will say to them clearly that "You are liars!"

وَأَلْقَوْاْ إِلَى اللّهِ يَوْمَئِذٍ السَّلَمَ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَفْتَرُونَ

87.             Waalqaw ila Allahi yawmaithin alssalama wadalla AAanhum ma kanoo yaftaroona
At that moment they all will bow down before Allâh and all their lies will vanish away which they used to fabricate in this world

الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَصَدُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِ اللّهِ زِدْنَاهُمْ عَذَابًا فَوْقَ الْعَذَابِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يُفْسِدُونَ

88.             Allatheena kafaroo wasaddoo AAan sabeeli Allahi zidnahum AAathaban fawqa alAAathabi bima kanoo yufsidoona
WE will add torment over the torment for those people who themselves adopted the path of infidelity (Kufr) and hindered others from the Path of Allâh because of the mischief they used to spread in the world.

وَيَوْمَ نَبْعَثُ فِي كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيدًا عَلَيْهِم مِّنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ شَهِيدًا عَلَى هَـؤُلاء وَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ تِبْيَانًا لِّكُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً وَبُشْرَى لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ

89.             Wayawma nabAAathu fee kulli ommatin shaheedan AAalayhim min anfusihim wajina bika shaheedan AAala haolai wanazzalna AAalayka alkitaba tibyanan likulli shayin wahudan warahmatan wabushra lilmuslimeena
(O Prophet, Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, warn them from the day) When WE shall raise a witness from each nation among that nation who will testify against it, and WE will bring you as a witness against them.  And (this is the preparation of the witness that) WE have revealed this Book (Al-Qur'ân) to you that clearly explains everything and a guidance and mercy and good news for those people who have submitted themselves. (R) 18

إِنَّ اللّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالإِحْسَانِ وَإِيتَاء ذِي الْقُرْبَى وَيَنْهَى عَنِ الْفَحْشَاء وَالْمُنكَرِ وَالْبَغْيِ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ

90.             Inna Allaha yamuru bialAAadli waalihsani waeetai thee alqurba wayanha AAani alfahshai waalmunkari waalbaghyi yaAAithukum laAAallakum tathakkaroona
Allâh commands Justice (Al-Adl) and Kindness (Al-Ihsân) and to establish relationships and forbids evil-doings, indecency (Al-Fahshâ') and cruelty (Al-Munkar) and oppression (Al-Baghy).  HE advises you so that you may learn lesson.

وَأَوْفُواْ بِعَهْدِ اللّهِ إِذَا عَاهَدتُّمْ وَلاَ تَنقُضُواْ الأَيْمَانَ بَعْدَ تَوْكِيدِهَا وَقَدْ جَعَلْتُمُ اللّهَ عَلَيْكُمْ كَفِيلاً إِنَّ اللّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ

91.             Waawfoo biAAahdi Allahi itha AAahadtum wala tanqudoo alaymana baAAda tawkeediha waqad jaAAaltumu Allaha AAalaykum kafeelan inna Allaha yaAAlamu ma tafAAaloona
Fulfill the Covenant (Bai'a) of Allâh when you have made any promise with HIM, and do not break your oaths after confirming it when you have taken Allâh as witness on yourselves.  Allâh is aware of all your deeds.

وَلاَ تَكُونُواْ كَالَّتِي نَقَضَتْ غَزْلَهَا مِن بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ أَنكَاثًا تَتَّخِذُونَ أَيْمَانَكُمْ دَخَلاً بَيْنَكُمْ أَن تَكُونَ أُمَّةٌ هِيَ أَرْبَى مِنْ أُمَّةٍ إِنَّمَا يَبْلُوكُمُ اللّهُ بِهِ وَلَيُبَيِّنَنَّ لَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ

92.             Wala takoonoo kaallatee naqadat ghazlaha min baAAdi quwwatin ankathan tattakhithoona aymanakum dakhalan baynakum an takoona ommatun hiya arba min ommatin innama yablookumu Allahu bihi walayubayyinanna lakum yawma alqiyamati ma kuntum feehi takhtalifoona
Your condition should not be like that woman who spun the yarn with great efforts and then she herself broke it into pieces.  You make your oaths the means of deception in mutual affairs, so that one nation may take undue advantage over the other nation. Whereas Allâh puts you to trial by these Covenants, and HE will surely reveal the truth of your disputes on the Day of Resurrection.

وَلَوْ شَاء اللّهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَلكِن يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَاء وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاء وَلَتُسْأَلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

93.             Walaw shaa Allahu lajaAAalakum ommatan wahidatan walakin yudillu man yashao wayahdee man yashao walatusalunna AAamma kuntum taAAmaloona
If it was the Leave of Allâh (that there should be no dispute among you) then HE would have made you (all) one nation, but HE sends astray whom HE wills and guides to the straight path whom HE wills, and you shall certainly be held accountable for your deeds.

وَلاَ تَتَّخِذُواْ أَيْمَانَكُمْ دَخَلاً بَيْنَكُمْ فَتَزِلَّ قَدَمٌ بَعْدَ ثُبُوتِهَا وَتَذُوقُواْ الْسُّوءَ بِمَا صَدَدتُّمْ عَن سَبِيلِ اللّهِ وَلَكُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ

94.             Wala tattakhithoo aymanakum dakhalan baynakum fatazilla qadamun baAAda thubootiha watathooqoo alssooa bima sadadtum AAan sabeeli Allahi walakum AAathabun AAatheemun
(And O Muslims) You should not make your oaths the means of deception for one another, it should not be that your foot be uprooted after being firmly fixed and you may suffer and be punished for this reason that you hindered the people from the Path of Allâh.

وَلاَ تَشْتَرُواْ بِعَهْدِ اللّهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلاً إِنَّمَا عِندَ اللّهِ هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

95.             Wala tashtaroo biAAahdi Allahi thamanan qaleelan innama AAinda Allahi huwa khayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona
Do not sell the Covenant of Allâh for small gains whatever is with Allâh that is lot better for you if you realize it.

مَا عِندَكُمْ يَنفَدُ وَمَا عِندَ اللّهِ بَاقٍ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّ الَّذِينَ صَبَرُواْ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ

96.             Ma AAindakum yanfadu wama AAinda Allahi baqin walanajziyanna allatheena sabaroo ajrahum biahsani ma kanoo yaAAmaloona
Whatever you have -- that is going to perish and whatever is with Allâh it is eternal, and WE will surely reward those who are patients, according to their good deeds.

مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَى وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَنُحْيِيَنَّهُ حَيَاةً طَيِّبَةً وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ

97.             Man AAamila salihan min thakarin aw ontha wahuwa muminun falanuhyiyannahu hayatan tayyibatan walanajziyannahum ajrahum biahsani ma kanoo yaAAmaloona
Whoever will do righteous deeds, whether male or female, provided that he/she is a believer, WE will make him/her to live a pure life in this world and shall reward such person (in the Hereafter) according to his/her best deeds.

فَإِذَا قَرَأْتَ الْقُرْآنَ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ

98.             Faitha qarata alqurana faistaAAith biAllahi mina alshshaytani alrrajeemi
And when you begin to recite Al-Qur'ân then should ask the protection of Allâh from outcasted Shaitân (Satan).

إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لَهُ سُلْطَانٌ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ

99.             Innahu laysa lahu sultanun AAala allatheena amanoo waAAala rabbihim yatawakkaloona
He has no power over those people who bring Faith and put their trust in their Râbb.

إِنَّمَا سُلْطَانُهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَتَوَلَّوْنَهُ وَالَّذِينَ هُم بِهِ مُشْرِكُونَ

100.          Innama sultanuhu AAala allatheena yatawallawnahu waallatheena hum bihi mushrikoona
His power is only for those people who make him their patron and commit idolatry (shirk) by his temptations. (R) 19

وَإِذَا بَدَّلْنَا آيَةً مَّكَانَ آيَةٍ وَاللّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُنَزِّلُ قَالُواْ إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مُفْتَرٍ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ

101.          Waitha baddalna ayatan makana ayatin waAllahu aAAlamu bima yunazzilu qaloo innama anta muftarin bal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoona
When WE reveal one Verse in place of another Verse--and Allâh knows the best what HE should reveal--then these people say: "you fabricate (Muftari) this Qur’ân yourself."  The truth is that most of these people are unaware of the reality.

قُلْ نَزَّلَهُ رُوحُ الْقُدُسِ مِن رَّبِّكَ بِالْحَقِّ لِيُثَبِّتَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَهُدًى وَبُشْرَى لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ

102.          Qul nazzalahu roohu alqudusi min rabbika bialhaqqi liyuthabbita allatheena amanoo wahudan wabushra lilmuslimeena
Tell them that Rûh-ul-Qudus (Angel Jibrael) has gradually brought it down in truth from my Râbb, so that it may strengthen the Faith of those who brought Faith and show guidance to the obedient and give them good news of blessing and prosperity.

وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّمَا يُعَلِّمُهُ بَشَرٌ لِّسَانُ الَّذِي يُلْحِدُونَ إِلَيْهِ أَعْجَمِيٌّ وَهَـذَا لِسَانٌ عَرَبِيٌّ مُّبِينٌ

103.          Walaqad naAAlamu annahum yaqooloona innama yuAAallimuhu basharun lisanu allathee yulhidoona ilayhi aAAjamiyyun wahatha lisanun AAarabiyyun mubeenun
WE know these people say about you: "A man teaches him." Whereas the person they are pointing -- speaks Foreign language and this (Al-Qur'ân) is in clear Arabic language.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللّهِ لاَ يَهْدِيهِمُ اللّهُ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

104.          Inna allatheena la yuminoona biayati Allahi la yahdeehimu Allahu walahum AAathabun aleemun
The truth is that those people who do not believe in the Revelation (Ayâts) of Allâh, Allâh never gives them the ability to reach to the right conclusions and there is severe punishment for such people.

إِنَّمَا يَفْتَرِي الْكَذِبَ الَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللّهِ وَأُوْلـئِكَ هُمُ الْكَاذِبُونَ

105.          Innama yaftaree alkathiba allatheena la yuminoona biayati Allahi waolaika humu alkathiboona
(Prophet, Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, does not fabricate lie) Those people are fabricating lies who do not embrace the Revelation of Allâh in fact they are the liars.

مَن كَفَرَ بِاللّهِ مِن بَعْدِ إيمَانِهِ إِلاَّ مَنْ أُكْرِهَ وَقَلْبُهُ مُطْمَئِنٌّ بِالإِيمَانِ وَلَـكِن مَّن شَرَحَ بِالْكُفْرِ صَدْرًا فَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌ مِّنَ اللّهِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ

106.          Man kafara biAllahi min baAAdi eemanihi illa man okriha waqalbuhu mutmainnun bialeemani walakin man sharaha bialkufri sadran faAAalayhim ghadabun mina Allahi walahum AAathabun AAatheemun
Whoever commits infidelity (Kufr) after bringing Faith (if he/she) has been forced and his/her heart is satisfied on the Faith (then it is okay) but the one who accepted infidelity (Kufr) with the satisfaction of (his/her) heart then there is wrath of Allâh on him/her and there is severe punishment for all such people.

ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ اسْتَحَبُّواْ الْحَيَاةَ الْدُّنْيَا عَلَى الآخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِرِينَ

107.          Thalika biannahumu istahabboo alhayata alddunya AAala alakhirati waanna Allaha la yahdee alqawma alkafireena
It is so because they preferred the worldly life as compare to the Hereafter, and it is a principle of Allâh that HE does not show the path of salvation to those people who deny HIS blessings.

أُولَـئِكَ الَّذِينَ طَبَعَ اللّهُ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَارِهِمْ وَأُولَـئِكَ هُمُ الْغَافِلُونَ

108.          Olaika allatheena tabaAAa Allahu AAala quloobihim wasamAAihim waabsarihim waolaika humu alghafiloona
Allâh has sealed the hearts, hearing (ears) and sights (eyes) of those people; they have been drowned in negligence.

لاَ جَرَمَ أَنَّهُمْ فِي الآخِرَةِ هُمُ الْخَاسِرونَ

109.          La jarama annahum fee alakhirati humu alkhasiroona
It is necessary that in the Hereafter they should be in loss.

ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُواْ مِن بَعْدِ مَا فُتِنُواْ ثُمَّ جَاهَدُواْ وَصَبَرُواْ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِن بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

110.          Thumma inna rabbaka lillatheena hajaroo min baAAdi ma futinoo thumma jahadoo wasabaroo inna rabbaka min baAAdiha laghafoorun raheemun
Contrary to it your Râbb is certainly Most Merciful and Forgiving for those people who migrated and suffered many hardships in the path of Allâh (after they brought faith) and they remained patient. (R) 20

يَوْمَ تَأْتِي كُلُّ نَفْسٍ تُجَادِلُ عَن نَّفْسِهَا وَتُوَفَّى كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا عَمِلَتْ وَهُمْ لاَ يُظْلَمُونَ

111.          Yawma tatee kullu nafsin tujadilu AAan nafsiha watuwaffa kullu nafsin ma AAamilat wahum la yuthlamoona
(Every thing will be decided on that day) When every soul will be worried about his/her own safety (escape) and everyone will be paid in full for what he/she did and no injustice will be done to anyone.

وَضَرَبَ اللّهُ مَثَلاً قَرْيَةً كَانَتْ آمِنَةً مُّطْمَئِنَّةً يَأْتِيهَا رِزْقُهَا رَغَدًا مِّن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ فَكَفَرَتْ بِأَنْعُمِ اللّهِ فَأَذَاقَهَا اللّهُ لِبَاسَ الْجُوعِ وَالْخَوْفِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَصْنَعُونَ

112.          Wadaraba Allahu mathalan qaryatan kanat aminatan mutmainnatan yateeha rizquha raghadan min kulli makanin fakafarat bianAAumi Allahi faathaqaha Allahu libasa aljooAAi waalkhawfi bima kanoo yasnaAAoona
Allâh gives an example of such community.  It was enjoying a peaceful and content life and the provisions of life were reaching to it in abundance from all over the places but it started denying the Favors of Allâh.  Then Allâh punished the people of that community for their misdeeds by afflicting them with hunger and fear.

وَلَقَدْ جَاءهُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ

113.          Walaqad jaahum rasoolun minhum fakaththaboohu faakhathahumu alAAathabu wahum thalimoona
A Rasool came to them from among their own nation. But they denied him. Finally a torment overtook them while they had become wrongdoers (Zâlimûn).

فَكُلُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللّهُ حَلالاً طَيِّبًا وَاشْكُرُواْ نِعْمَتَ اللّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ

114.          Fakuloo mimma razaqakumu Allahu halalan tayyiban waoshkuroo niAAmata Allahi in kuntum iyyahu taAAbudoona
Therefore O people, whatever lawful (Halâl) and pure food Allâh has provided for you eat it and pay thanks for the kindness of Allâh if you are really HIS devotees.

إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَيْتَةَ وَالْدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ الْخَنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ اللّهِ بِهِ فَمَنِ اضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَلاَ عَادٍ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

115.          Innama harrama AAalaykumu almaytata waalddama walahma alkhinzeeri wama ohilla lighayri Allahi bihi famani idturra ghayra baghin wala AAadin fainna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun
Whatever Allâh has prohibited (made Harâm) for you is the dead (animal, Al-Maytatah) and blood and the meat of swine (pork) and that animal on which someone’s name has been pronounced except Allâh.  However if anyone eats these because of helplessness of hunger or necessity, provided that he/she does not has any intention of breaking the Law of Allâh nor transgresses the limit of necessity, then surely Allâh is Forgiving and Most Merciful.

وَلاَ تَقُولُواْ لِمَا تَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُكُمُ الْكَذِبَ هَـذَا حَلاَلٌ وَهَـذَا حَرَامٌ لِّتَفْتَرُواْ عَلَى اللّهِ الْكَذِبَ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى اللّهِ الْكَذِبَ لاَ يُفْلِحُونَ

116.          Wala taqooloo lima tasifu alsinatukumu alkathiba hatha halalun wahatha haramun litaftaroo AAala Allahi alkathiba inna allatheena yaftaroona AAala Allahi alkathiba la yuflihoona
And that your tongues falsely give these commands that this thing is lawful (Halâl) and that is unlawful (Harâm); by saying such things do not ascribe lies to Allâh.  Those people who fabricate lies against Allâh they never prosper.

مَتَاعٌ قَلِيلٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

117.          MataAAun qaleelun walahum AAathabun aleemun
The worldly pleasure is very brief.  Eventually there is a severe punishment for them.

وَعَلَى الَّذِينَ هَادُواْ حَرَّمْنَا مَا قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَمَا ظَلَمْنَاهُمْ وَلَـكِن كَانُواْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ

118.          WaAAala allatheena hadoo harramna ma qasasna AAalayka min qablu wama thalamnahum walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona
WE had forbidden those things especially for the Jews about which WE have already mentioned to you and it was not OUR oppression for them but it was their own cruelty, which they were doing to themselves.

ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ عَمِلُواْ السُّوءَ بِجَهَالَةٍ ثُمَّ تَابُواْ مِن بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُواْ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِن بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

119.          Thumma inna rabbaka lillatheena AAamiloo alssooa bijahalatin thumma taboo min baAAdi thalika waaslahoo inna rabbaka min baAAdiha laghafoorun raheemun
Although those people who committed evil because of ignorance and after repentance corrected their misdeeds then certainly after this repentance and righteousness your Râbb is Oft-Forgiving and Most Merciful for them. (R) 21

إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ كَانَ أُمَّةً قَانِتًا لِلّهِ حَنِيفًا وَلَمْ يَكُ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ

120.          Inna ibraheema kana ommatan qanitan lillahi haneefan walam yaku mina almushrikeena
The truth is that Ibrâhim was a complete nation (Ummâh) in himself, an obedient to Allâh and true devotee.  He was never an idolater (Al-Mushrikûn).

شَاكِرًا لِّأَنْعُمِهِ اجْتَبَاهُ وَهَدَاهُ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

121.          Shakiran lianAAumihi ijtabahu wahadahu ila siratin mustaqeemin
He was thankful to Allâh for HIS Favors.  Allâh picked him and guided to a Straight Path.

وَآتَيْنَاهُ فِي الْدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَإِنَّهُ فِي الآخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ

122.          Waataynahu fee alddunya hasanatan wainnahu fee alakhirati lamina alssaliheena
(WE) Gave him good in this world and he will certainly be among the righteous in the Hereafter.

ثُمَّ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ أَنِ اتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ

123.          Thumma awhayna ilayka ani ittabiAA millata ibraheema haneefan wama kana mina almushrikeena
Then WE sent this Revelation towards you that follow the way of Ibrâhim with devotion and he was not from among the idolaters (Mushrikûn).

إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ السَّبْتُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ اخْتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ

124.          Innama juAAila alssabtu AAala allatheena ikhtalafoo feehi wainna rabbaka layahkumu baynahum yawma alqiyamati feema kanoo feehi yakhtalifoona
As for the Sabbath, WE imposed it on those people who differed about its command and certainly your Râbb will decide about all these things on the Day of Judgment in which they have been differing.

ادْعُ إِلِى سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ وَجَادِلْهُم بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ

125.          OdAAu ila sabeeli rabbika bialhikmati waalmawAAithati alhasanati wajadilhum biallatee hiya ahsanu inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu biman dalla AAan sabeelihi wahuwa aAAlamu bialmuhtadeena
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), invite to the Path of your Râbb with wisdom and best advice, and argue with people in such a way, which is best.  Your Râbb knows better that who has gone astray from HIS Path and who is on the Right Path.

وَإِنْ عَاقَبْتُمْ فَعَاقِبُواْ بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبْتُم بِهِ وَلَئِن صَبَرْتُمْ لَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لِّلصَّابِرينَ

126.          Wain AAaqabtum faAAaqiboo bimithli ma AAooqibtum bihi walain sabartum lahuwa khayrun lilssabireena
And if you people take revenge then punish them that much for which you were afflicted.  But if you endure with patience then surely it is better for those who are patient (As-Sâbirin).

وَاصْبِرْ وَمَا صَبْرُكَ إِلاَّ بِاللّهِ وَلاَ تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ تَكُ فِي ضَيْقٍ مِّمَّا يَمْكُرُونَ

127.          Waisbir wama sabruka illa biAllahi wala tahzan AAalayhim wala taku fee dayqin mimma yamkuroona
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), be patient and your this patience is with the blessing of Allâh--neither grieve on their wrong doings nor distress on their cunning plans.

إِنَّ اللّهَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ اتَّقَواْ وَّالَّذِينَ هُم مُّحْسِنُونَ

128.          Inna Allaha maAAa allatheena ittaqaw waallatheena hum muhsinoona
Allâh is with those people who fear HIM and adopt the way of kindness (Muhsinûn).   (R) 22
