Chapter 17

Total Verses: 112

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

اقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مَّعْرِضُونَ

1.                Iqtaraba lilnnasi hisabuhum wahum fee ghaflatin muAAridoona
The time for peoples’ accountability has come closer, and they are (the ones) who have turned away (their) faces in ignorance.

مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مَّن رَّبِّهِم مُّحْدَثٍ إِلَّا اسْتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ

2.               Ma yateehim min thikrin min rabbihim muhdathin illa istamaAAoohu wahum yalAAaboona
Whatever new advice comes to them from their Râbb they carelessly listen it and keep playing, 

لَاهِيَةً قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَسَرُّواْ النَّجْوَى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ هَلْ هَذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ أَفَتَأْتُونَ السِّحْرَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ

3.                Lahiyatan quloobuhum waasarroo alnnajwa allatheena thalamoo hal hatha illa basharun mithlukum afatatoona alssihra waantum tubsiroona
Their hearts are occupied (with other thoughts).  And the cruels whisper among themselves that: "This person (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) is just a man like you, then will you knowingly be trapped in the trap of magic"? 

قَالَ رَبِّي يَعْلَمُ الْقَوْلَ فِي السَّمَاء وَالأَرْضِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

4.               Qala rabbee yaAAlamu alqawla fee alssamai waalardi wahuwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu
The Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: "My Râbb knows every word, which is spoken in the skies and on the earth; HE is All-Hearer and All-Knower”. 

بَلْ قَالُواْ أَضْغَاثُ أَحْلاَمٍ بَلِ افْتَرَاهُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌ فَلْيَأْتِنَا بِآيَةٍ كَمَا أُرْسِلَ الأَوَّلُونَ

5.                Bal qaloo adghathu ahlamin bali iftarahu bal huwa shaAAirun falyatina biayatin kama orsila alawwaloona
They say, “These are irrational dreams, moreover (they say) it is his self-invention, (they) also (say) this person is a poet, otherwise he should bring some sign (miracle, Ayât) as the former Rasools were sent with signs.” 

مَا آمَنَتْ قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا أَفَهُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ

6.                Ma amanat qablahum min qaryatin ahlaknaha afahum yuminoona
Whereas none of the towns before them, whom WE destroyed, did not bring Faith.  Will now these people bring Faith? 

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ إِلاَّ رِجَالاً نُّوحِي إِلَيْهِمْ فَاسْأَلُواْ أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ

7.                Wama arsalna qablaka illa rijalan noohee ilayhim faisaloo ahla alththikri in kuntum la taAAlamoona
And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), WE had sent human as Rasools before you to whom WE used to sent Revelation.  If you people do not have knowledge then ask the people of the Book. 

وَمَا جَعَلْنَاهُمْ جَسَدًا لَّا يَأْكُلُونَ الطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوا خَالِدِينَ

8.                Wama jaAAalnahum jasadan la yakuloona alttaAAama wama kanoo khalideena
WE did not give any such bodies to those Rasools that they do not eat, and nor they were eternal.

ثُمَّ صَدَقْنَاهُمُ الْوَعْدَ فَأَنجَيْنَاهُمْ وَمَن نَّشَاء وَأَهْلَكْنَا الْمُسْرِفِينَ

9.                Thumma sadaqnahumu alwaAAda faanjaynahum waman nashao waahlakna almusrifeena
Then see eventually WE fulfilled OUR promises with them, and WE saved them and whomsoever WE wanted, and destroyed those who were transgressors (Al-Musrifûn).

لَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ كِتَابًا فِيهِ ذِكْرُكُمْ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

10.            Laqad anzalna ilaykum kitaban feehi thikrukum afala taAAqiloona
O mankind, WE have sent such Book (Al-Qur'ân) towards you in which there is a “Ziker” talk (Dhikrukum) about you, do you not understand.  (R) 1 

وَكَمْ قَصَمْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ كَانَتْ ظَالِمَةً وَأَنشَأْنَا بَعْدَهَا قَوْمًا آخَرِينَ

11.            Wakam qasamna min qaryatin kanat thalimatan waanshana baAAdaha qawman akhareena
There are many cruel towns, which WE destroyed and after them raised some other nations. 

فَلَمَّا أَحَسُّوا بَأْسَنَا إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَ

12.            Falamma ahassoo basana itha hum minha yarkudoona
When they perceived OUR Torment then they began to run away from there.

لَا تَرْكُضُوا وَارْجِعُوا إِلَى مَا أُتْرِفْتُمْ فِيهِ وَمَسَاكِنِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْأَلُونَ

13.            La tarkudoo wairjiAAoo ila ma otriftum feehi wamasakinikum laAAallakum tusaloona
(It was said): “Do not run, return to your those homes and luxurious places where you were resting, perhaps you may be questioned”. 

قَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ

14.            Qaloo ya waylana inna kunna thalimeena
They began to say: "Woe to us (our ill-luck), No doubt we were wrong doers (Zâlimûn)”.

فَمَا زَالَت تِّلْكَ دَعْوَاهُمْ حَتَّى جَعَلْنَاهُمْ حَصِيدًا خَامِدِينَ

15.            Fama zalat tilka daAAwahum hatta jaAAalnahum haseedan khamideena
And they kept saying this until WE barren (dumped) them, no spark of life remained in them.

وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاء وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَاعِبِينَ

16.            Wama khalaqna alssamaa waalarda wama baynahuma laAAibeena
WE have not created the skies and the earth and whatever is in between them just for fun.

لَوْ أَرَدْنَا أَن نَّتَّخِذَ لَهْوًا لَّاتَّخَذْنَاهُ مِن لَّدُنَّا إِن كُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ

17.             Law aradna an nattakhitha lahwan laittakhathnahu min ladunna in kunna faAAileena
If WE wanted to make a toy and that all WE have to do, then WE would have done it by OURSELF.

بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ عَلَى الْبَاطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌ وَلَكُمُ الْوَيْلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ

18.             Bal naqthifu bialhaqqi AAala albatili fayadmaghuhu faitha huwa zahiqun walakumu alwaylu mimma tasifoona
But WE strike falsehood with Truth, which breaks its head and it vanishes away in no time (while watching) and there is destruction for you because of those things, which you fabricate. 

وَلَهُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ عِندَهُ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِ وَلَا يَسْتَحْسِرُونَ

19.             Walahu man fee alssamawati waalardi waman AAindahu la yastakbiroona AAan AAibadatihi wala yastahsiroona
The entire creature, which exists in the skies and the earth that belongs to Allâh.  And those (angels) who are with HIM they do not consider themselves high and do not stop serving HIM and nor they become sad. 

يُسَبِّحُونَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ لَا يَفْتُرُونَ

20.             Yusabbihoona allayla waalnnahara la yafturoona
They glorify HIM night and day, without any break. 

أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا آلِهَةً مِّنَ الْأَرْضِ هُمْ يُنشِرُونَ

21.             Ami ittakhathoo alihatan mina alardi hum yunshiroona
Do the worldly deities (Ilâhan) taken by these people have the power to raise (giving life to the dead)? 

لَوْ كَانَ فِيهِمَا آلِهَةٌ إِلَّا اللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَا فَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ

22.             Law kana feehima alihatun illa Allahu lafasadata fasubhana Allahi rabbi alAAarshi AAamma yasifoona
If there were other deities (Ilâhan) in the skies and the earth except One Allâh then the order of the both (skies and earth) would have been ruined.  Therefore, Pure is Allâh the Râbb of the highest from those things, which these people are fabricating. 

لَا يُسْأَلُ عَمَّا يَفْعَلُ وَهُمْ يُسْأَلُونَ

23.             La yusalu AAamma yafAAalu wahum yusaloona
HE is not accountable to anyone for whatever HE does and all others are answerable (to HIM).

أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ آلِهَةً قُلْ هَاتُوا بُرْهَانَكُمْ هَذَا ذِكْرُ مَن مَّعِيَ وَذِكْرُ مَن قَبْلِي بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ الْحَقَّ فَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ

24.             Ami ittakhathoo min doonihi alihatan qul hatoo burhanakum hatha thikru man maAAiya wathikru man qablee bal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoona alhaqqa fahum muAAridoona
Have they taken other deities except HIM?  O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), ask them: "Bring your proofs, this Book (Al-Qur'ân) is also present in which there is an advice for the people of my time and those Books are also present in which there was an advice for the people before me.”  But most of them are ignorant from the Truth; this is why they have turned away their faces. 

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِي إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنَا فَاعْبُدُونِ

25.            Wama arsalna min qablika min rasoolin illa noohee ilayhi annahu la ilaha illa ana faoAAbudooni
WE sent the same Revelation to all the Rasools whom WE have sent before you -- that there is no deity (Ilâha) except ME (Lâ ilâha illa Ana); therefore, you serve ME Alone.

وَقَالُوا اتَّخَذَ الرَّحْمَنُ وَلَدًا سُبْحَانَهُ بَلْ عِبَادٌ مُّكْرَمُونَ

26.            Waqaloo ittakhatha alrrahmanu waladan subhanahu bal AAibadun mukramoona
They say: "The Most Loving (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) has children." Glory to Allâh they (angels) are servants whom honor has been given. 

لَا يَسْبِقُونَهُ بِالْقَوْلِ وَهُم بِأَمْرِهِ يَعْمَلُونَ

27.             La yasbiqoonahu bialqawli wahum biamrihi yaAAmaloona
They do not surpass in speaking before HIM and just obey HIS commands.

يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يَشْفَعُونَ إِلَّا لِمَنِ ارْتَضَى وَهُم مِّنْ خَشْيَتِهِ مُشْفِقُونَ

28.            YaAAlamu ma bayna aydeehim wama khalfahum wala yashfaAAoona illa limani irtada wahum min khashyatihi mushfiqoona
Whatever is before them HE knows it and whatever is secret from them HE knows that as well.  They do not intercede for anyone except for the one about whom Allâh agrees to hear the plea, and they remain scared from HIS fear. 

وَمَن يَقُلْ مِنْهُمْ إِنِّي إِلَهٌ مِّن دُونِهِ فَذَلِكَ نَجْزِيهِ جَهَنَّمَ كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الظَّالِمِينَ

29.            Waman yaqul minhum innee ilahun min doonihi fathalika najzeehi jahannama kathalika najzee alththalimeena
And if anyone of them say that, “I am also deity (ilâh) except Allâh”, then WE should give him punishment of Hell, with US this is the recompense for the cruels (Zâlimûn).  (R) 2 

أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَاهُمَا وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاء كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

30.             Awa lam yara allatheena kafaroo anna alssamawati waalarda kanata ratqan fafataqnahuma wajaAAalna mina almai kulla shayin hayyin afala yuminoona
Do those people who have denied (accepting the word of Prophet, Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) not ponder that all these skies and the earth were joined together (as one piece), then WE separated them, and created every living being from water?  Do they not confess (that this is OUR creation)? 

وَجَعَلْنَا فِي الْأَرْضِ رَوَاسِيَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِهِمْ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا فِجَاجًا سُبُلًا لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ

31.             WajaAAalna fee alardi rawasiya an tameeda bihim wajaAAalna feeha fijajan subulan laAAallahum yahtadoona
And WE firmly placed mountains on the earth so that it should not roll down with them, and made spacious paths in it, perhaps people may find their way.

وَجَعَلْنَا السَّمَاء سَقْفًا مَّحْفُوظًا وَهُمْ عَنْ آيَاتِهَا مُعْرِضُونَ

32.             WajaAAalna alssamaa saqfan mahfoothan wahum AAan ayatiha muAAridoona
And WE made the sky a safe roof.  But they are the ones who do not pay any attention towards the signs of the universe. 

وَهُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ

33.             Wahuwa allathee khalaqa allayla waalnnahara waalshshamsa waalqamara kullun fee falakin yasbahoona
And HE is Allâh WHO made the night and the day and created the sun and the moon.  Each one is floating in a separate orbit. 

وَمَا جَعَلْنَا لِبَشَرٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ الْخُلْدَ أَفَإِن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ الْخَالِدُونَ

34.             Wama jaAAalna libasharin min qablika alkhulda afain mitta fahumu alkhalidoona
And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), WE have not granted eternity to anyone before you if you die then would these people live forever?

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ وَنَبْلُوكُم بِالشَّرِّ وَالْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةً وَإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ

35.             Kullu nafsin thaiqatu almawti wanablookum bialshsharri waalkhayri fitnatan wailayna turjaAAoona
Every living entity has to die (taste the death), and WE are testing all of you by imposing good and bad circumstance.  Eventually you have to return to US.

وَإِذَا رَآكَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِن يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَذَا الَّذِي يَذْكُرُ آلِهَتَكُمْ وَهُم بِذِكْرِ الرَّحْمَنِ هُمْ كَافِرُونَ

36.             Waitha raaka allatheena kafaroo in yattakhithoonaka illa huzuwan ahatha allathee yathkuru alihatakum wahum bithikri alrrahmani hum kafiroona
When these deniers of the Truth see you, they make fun of you.  They say, "Is he the person who talks about your deities (Ilâhan)”?  And their own condition is such that they deny mentioning about the Most Loving (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala). 

خُلِقَ الْإِنسَانُ مِنْ عَجَلٍ سَأُرِيكُمْ آيَاتِي فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُونِ

37.             Khuliqa alinsanu min AAajalin saoreekum ayatee fala tastaAAjiloona
Human is a hasty creature.  Right now I am going to show you MY Signs (Ayât) do not rush with ME -- 

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَى هَذَا الْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

38.             Wayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeena
These people say, "After all when will this threat be fulfilled if you are truthful”? 

لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا حِينَ لَا يَكُفُّونَ عَن وُجُوهِهِمُ النَّارَ وَلَا عَن ظُهُورِهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ

39.             Law yaAAlamu allatheena kafaroo heena la yakuffoona AAan wujoohihimu alnnara wala AAan thuhoorihim wala hum yunsaroona
Would that these infidels (Kafir) knew anything about that time when they will not be able to prevent their faces from the fire nor their backs, and nor any help will reach to them from anywhere. 

بَلْ تَأْتِيهِم بَغْتَةً فَتَبْهَتُهُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ

40.             Bal tateehim baghtatan fatabhatuhum fala yastateeAAoona raddaha wala hum yuntharoona
That disaster will come suddenly and will seize them all of sudden in such a way that they will neither avert it nor will get respite for a moment. 

وَلَقَدِ اسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِالَّذِينَ سَخِرُوا مِنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِؤُون

41.             Walaqadi istuhzia birusulin min qablika fahaqa biallatheena sakhiroo minhum ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona
The Rasools before you have also been ridiculed, but those who ridiculed them were surrounded by that thing of which they used to ridicule.  (R) 3

قُلْ مَن يَكْلَؤُكُم بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مِنَ الرَّحْمَنِ بَلْ هُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ

42.             Qul man yaklaokum biallayli waalnnahari mina alrrahmani bal hum AAan thikri rabbihim muAAridoona
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) ask them, "Who is there to guard you from the Most Loving  (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) in the night or the day time?"  But they are turning away from the warning of their Râbb. 

أَمْ لَهُمْ آلِهَةٌ تَمْنَعُهُم مِّن دُونِنَا لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَلَا هُم مِّنَّا يُصْحَبُونَ

43.             Am lahum alihatun tamnaAAuhum min doonina la yastateeAAoona nasra anfusihim wala hum minna yushaboona
Do they have some such deities (Ilâhan) who can help them against US?  Neither they (their deities) can help themselves nor do they have any support from US. 

بَلْ مَتَّعْنَا هَؤُلَاء وَآبَاءهُمْ حَتَّى طَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْعُمُرُ أَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَنَّا نَأْتِي الْأَرْضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَا أَفَهُمُ الْغَالِبُونَ

44.             Bal mattaAAna haolai waabaahum hatta tala AAalayhimu alAAumuru afala yarawna anna natee alarda nanqusuha min atrafiha afahumu alghaliboona
The fact is that WE have been giving the provisions (comfort) of this life to these people as well as to their forefathers until their life period expired.  But don’t they see that WE are gradually reducing the earth from different sides?  Then will they overcome?

قُلْ إِنَّمَا أُنذِرُكُم بِالْوَحْيِ وَلَا يَسْمَعُ الصُّمُّ الدُّعَاء إِذَا مَا يُنذَرُونَ

45.             Qul innama onthirukum bialwahyi wala yasmaAAu alssummu aldduAAaa itha ma yuntharoona
Tell them, "I am warning you on the basis of Revelation”--but the deaf do not hear the call even when they are warned. 

وَلَئِن مَّسَّتْهُمْ نَفْحَةٌ مِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ يَا وَيْلَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ

46.             Walain massathum nafhatun min AAathabi rabbika layaqoolunna ya waylana inna kunna thalimeena
And if a little torment of your Râbb touches them then right now they will cry out, "Woe to us, no doubt we were wrongdoers (Zâlimûn).” 

وَنَضَعُ الْمَوَازِينَ الْقِسْطَ لِيَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ فَلَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْئًا وَإِن كَانَ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ أَتَيْنَا بِهَا وَكَفَى بِنَا حَاسِبِينَ

47.             WanadaAAu almawazeena alqista liyawmi alqiyamati fala tuthlamu nafsun shayan wain kana mithqala habbatin min khardalin atayna biha wakafa bina hasibeena
WE shall set up accurate scales of justice on the Day of Judgment, then no injustice will be done to any soul.  Whosoever has done anything even equal to a mustard seed; WE will bring it forth (to the account).  And WE are Sufficient to settle accounts. 

وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ الْفُرْقَانَ وَضِيَاء وَذِكْرًا لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ

48.            Walaqad atayna moosa waharoona alfurqana wadiyaan wathikran lilmuttaqeena
Before WE have given the criterion (Furqân), light and “Ziker” (reminder) to Mûsa and Hârûn, for the benefit of those pious people (Al-Muttaqûn) 

الَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُم بِالْغَيْبِ وَهُم مِّنَ السَّاعَةِ مُشْفِقُونَ

49.             Allatheena yakhshawna rabbahum bialghaybi wahum mina alssaAAati mushfiqoona
Who fear their Râbb without seeing (HIM) and who have fear of the last Hour (of the accountability).

وَهَذَا ذِكْرٌ مُّبَارَكٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ أَفَأَنتُمْ لَهُ مُنكِرُونَ

50.             Wahatha thikrun mubarakun anzalnahu afaantum lahu munkiroona
And now this blessed “Ziker” (Reminder, Al-Qur'ân) WE have Revealed (for you).  Then do you refuse to accept it?  (R) 4 

وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ رُشْدَهُ مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا بِه عَالِمِينَ

51.             Walaqad atayna ibraheema rushdahu min qablu wakunna bihi AAalimeena
Even before that WE had given Ibrâhim his wisdom (uprightness) and WE knew him very well.

إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ مَا هَذِهِ التَّمَاثِيلُ الَّتِي أَنتُمْ لَهَا عَاكِفُونَ

52.             Ith qala liabeehi waqawmihi ma hathihi alttamatheelu allatee antum laha AAakifoona
Recall that time when he asked his father and his nation: "What are these idols -- to whom you are so devoted?"

قَالُوا وَجَدْنَا آبَاءنَا لَهَا عَابِدِينَ

53.             Qaloo wajadna abaana laha AAabideena
They replied: "We found our forefathers worshipping them." 

قَالَ لَقَدْ كُنتُمْ أَنتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُمْ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ

54.             Qala laqad kuntum antum waabaokum fee dalalin mubeenin
He said: "You are gone astray and your forefathers were also in clear error”. 

قَالُوا أَجِئْتَنَا بِالْحَقِّ أَمْ أَنتَ مِنَ اللَّاعِبِينَ

55.             Qaloo ajitana bialhaqqi am anta mina allaAAibeena
They replied: "Are you presenting your real thoughts or just joking?" 

قَالَ بَل رَّبُّكُمْ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ الَّذِي فَطَرَهُنَّ وَأَنَا عَلَى ذَلِكُم مِّنَ الشَّاهِدِينَ

56.             Qala bal rabbukum rabbu alssamawati waalardi allathee fatarahunna waana AAala thalikum mina alshshahideena
He responded: "Absolutely not, but in fact your Râbb is the same WHO is the Râbb of the skies and the earth and their Creator.  I bear witness to this in front of you.

وَتَاللَّهِ لَأَكِيدَنَّ أَصْنَامَكُم بَعْدَ أَن تُوَلُّوا مُدْبِرِينَ

57.             WataAllahi laakeedanna asnamakum baAAda an tuwalloo mudbireena
And By Allâh I shall certainly take care of your idols in your absence." 

فَجَعَلَهُمْ جُذَاذًا إِلَّا كَبِيرًا لَّهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ يَرْجِعُونَ

58.             FajaAAalahum juthathan illa kabeeran lahum laAAallahum ilayhi yarjiAAoona
Therefore, he broke them into pieces and only spared the biggest of them so that they might turn to it. 

قَالُوا مَن فَعَلَ هَذَا بِآلِهَتِنَا إِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

59.             Qaloo man faAAala hatha bialihatina innahu lamina alththalimeena
(They came and saw the condition of their idols then) Began to say: "Who has done this to our deities (Ilâhan)?  He was a cruel person." 

قَالُوا سَمِعْنَا فَتًى يَذْكُرُهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ

60.             Qaloo samiAAna fatan yathkuruhum yuqalu lahu ibraheemu
(Some people) Said: "We heard a young man talking about them whose name is Ibrâhim." 

قَالُوا فَأْتُوا بِهِ عَلَى أَعْيُنِ النَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْهَدُونَ

61.             Qaloo fatoo bihi AAala aAAyuni alnnasi laAAallahum yashhadoona
They said: "Then bring him before all the people so that people should see (how he is dealt)”. 

قَالُوا أَأَنتَ فَعَلْتَ هَذَا بِآلِهَتِنَا يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ

62.             Qaloo aanta faAAalta hatha bialihatina ya ibraheemu
(When Ibrâhim came) They asked: "O Ibrâhim, have you done this to our deities?" 

قَالَ بَلْ فَعَلَهُ كَبِيرُهُمْ هَذَا فَاسْأَلُوهُمْ إِن كَانُوا يَنطِقُونَ

63.             Qala bal faAAalahu kabeeruhum hatha faisaloohum in kanoo yantiqoona
He (Ibrâhim) responded: "This chief of them has done all that, ask them if they speak”. 

فَرَجَعُوا إِلَى أَنفُسِهِمْ فَقَالُوا إِنَّكُمْ أَنتُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ

64.             FarajaAAoo ila anfusihim faqaloo innakum antumu alththalimoona
Hearing this they turned toward their inner-soul (self-consciousness) and (in their hearts) began to say: "Truly you yourselves are cruels (Zâlimûn)." 

ثُمَّ نُكِسُوا عَلَى رُؤُوسِهِمْ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا هَؤُلَاء يَنطِقُونَ

65.             Thumma nukisoo AAala ruoosihim laqad AAalimta ma haolai yantiqoona
But then their sense was gone and they said: "You know that they (idols) do not speak." 

قَالَ أَفَتَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَضُرُّكُمْ

66.             Qala afataAAbudoona min dooni Allahi ma la yanfaAAukum shayan wala yadurrukum
Ibrâhim said: "Then except Allâh are you worshiping those things which do not have the power to benefit or harm you? 

أُفٍّ لَّكُمْ وَلِمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

67.             Offin lakum walima taAAbudoona min dooni Allahi afala taAAqiloona
Shame on you and on your these idols -- whom you are worshiping except Allâh.  Have you no sense at all?" 

قَالُوا حَرِّقُوهُ وَانصُرُوا آلِهَتَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ فَاعِلِينَ

68.             Qaloo harriqoohu waonsuroo alihatakum in kuntum faAAileena
They cried out: "Burn him and help your deities (Ilâhan) if you have to do anything (for your deities)”.

قُلْنَا يَا نَارُ كُونِي بَرْدًا وَسَلَامًا عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ

69.             Qulna ya naru koonee bardan wasalaman AAala ibraheema
WE (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) said: "O fire!  Be cool and become peaceful for Ibrâhim." 

وَأَرَادُوا بِهِ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَاهُمُ الْأَخْسَرِينَ

70.             Waaradoo bihi kaydan fajaAAalnahumu alakhsareena
They wanted to harm him.  But WE gave them worst defeat. 

وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَلُوطًا إِلَى الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا لِلْعَالَمِينَ

71.             Wanajjaynahu walootan ila alardi allatee barakna feeha lilAAalameena
And WE saved him and Lout (nephew of Ibrâhim) and brought them to that land in which WE have placed many blessings for the mankind ('Alamîn). 

وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ نَافِلَةً وَكُلًّا جَعَلْنَا صَالِحِينَ

72.             Wawahabna lahu ishaqa wayaAAqooba nafilatan wakullan jaAAalna saliheena
And WE gave him Ishâque and in addition Ya'qûb, and made each of them righteous.

وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْهِمْ فِعْلَ الْخَيْرَاتِ وَإِقَامَ الصَّلَاةِ وَإِيتَاء الزَّكَاةِ وَكَانُوا لَنَا عَابِدِينَ

73.             WajaAAalnahum aimmatan yahdoona biamrina waawhayna ilayhim fiAAla alkhayrati waiqama alssalati waeetaa alzzakati wakanoo lana AAabideena
And WE made them spiritual guides (Imam) who guided by OUR Command.  And WE instructed them by revelation to do righteous deeds and to establish prayer (Salât) and to pay the poor-dues (Zakât), and they were OUR devotees. 

وَلُوطًا آتَيْنَاهُ حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ مِنَ الْقَرْيَةِ الَّتِي كَانَت تَّعْمَلُ الْخَبَائِثَ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمَ سَوْءٍ فَاسِقِينَ

74.             Walootan ataynahu hukman waAAilman wanajjaynahu mina alqaryati allatee kanat taAAmalu alkhabaitha innahum kanoo qawma sawin fasiqeena
And WE gave Lout verdict (Hukman) and knowledge and safely delivered him from that town which used to do wicked deeds (Al-Khabâ'ith)--in fact it was very bad, hypocrite nation (Fâsiqûn)-- 

وَأَدْخَلْنَاهُ فِي رَحْمَتِنَا إِنَّهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ

75.             Waadkhalnahu fee rahmatina innahu mina alssaliheena
And WE accepted Lout into OUR Mercy; he was from the righteous people.(R) 5

وَنُوحًا إِذْ نَادَى مِن قَبْلُ فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ فَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ مِنَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِيمِ

76.             Wanoohan ith nada min qablu faistajabna lahu fanajjaynahu waahlahu mina alkarbi alAAatheemi
And the same blessing WE bestowed on Nûh.  Recall when he called US before all of them.  WE accepted his prayer and delivered him and his family from great distress, 

وَنَصَرْنَاهُ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمَ سَوْءٍ فَأَغْرَقْنَاهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

77.             Wanasarnahu mina alqawmi allatheena kaththaboo biayatina innahum kanoo qawma sawin faaghraqnahum ajmaAAeena
And helped him against that nation -- who had denied OUR Revelation (Ayât).  They were very bad people, so WE drowned them all. 

وَدَاوُودَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ إِذْ يَحْكُمَانِ فِي الْحَرْثِ إِذْ نَفَشَتْ فِيهِ غَنَمُ الْقَوْمِ وَكُنَّا لِحُكْمِهِمْ شَاهِدِينَ

78.             Wadawooda wasulaymana ith yahkumani fee alharthi ith nafashat feehi ghanamu alqawmi wakunna lihukmihim shahideena
And WE honored Dawûd and Sulaimân with the same blessing.  Recall that occasion when they both were judging in the case of a field in which the sheep of other person had spread at nighttime, and WE were watching their court OURSELF. 

فَفَهَّمْنَاهَا سُلَيْمَانَ وَكُلًّا آتَيْنَا حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا وَسَخَّرْنَا مَعَ دَاوُودَ الْجِبَالَ يُسَبِّحْنَ وَالطَّيْرَ وَكُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ

79.             Fafahhamnaha sulaymana wakullan atayna hukman waAAilman wasakhkharna maAAa dawooda aljibala yusabbihna waalttayra wakunna faAAileena
At that time, WE guided Sulaimân to the right decision, whereas WE had given verdict (Hukman) and knowledge to both of them.  WE made mountains and birds submissive to Dawûd, which praises (OUR Glory); WE made that to happen, 

وَعَلَّمْنَاهُ صَنْعَةَ لَبُوسٍ لَّكُمْ لِتُحْصِنَكُم مِّن بَأْسِكُمْ فَهَلْ أَنتُمْ شَاكِرُونَ

80.             WaAAallamnahu sanAAata laboosin lakum lituhsinakum min basikum fahal antum shakiroona
And WE had taught him the skill of making the metal coats for your benefit, so that it protects you from each other’s violence, are you then grateful?

وَلِسُلَيْمَانَ الرِّيحَ عَاصِفَةً تَجْرِي بِأَمْرِهِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا وَكُنَّا بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَالِمِينَ

81.             Walisulaymana alrreeha AAasifatan tajree biamrihi ila alardi allatee barakna feeha wakunna bikulli shayin AAalimeena
And WE had subjected the brisk winds for Sulaimân, which were running by his command towards that land in which WE have placed the blessings; WE had the Knowledge of everything. 

وَمِنَ الشَّيَاطِينِ مَن يَغُوصُونَ لَهُ وَيَعْمَلُونَ عَمَلًا دُونَ ذَلِكَ وَكُنَّا لَهُمْ حَافِظِينَ

82.             Wamina alshshayateeni man yaghoosoona lahu wayaAAmaloona AAamalan doona thalika wakunna lahum hafitheena
And WE had made many such Shayâtin subservient to him who used to dive for him and besides this used to do other things.  WE were the custodians of all of them.

وَأَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَى رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ

83.             Waayyooba ith nada rabbahu annee massaniya alddurru waanta arhamu alrrahimeena
And the same (wisdom, verdict and knowledge) WE had given to Ayûb.  Recall when he prayed to his Râbb:  “I am afflicted with disease and YOU are the Most Loving and Merciful”. 

فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ فَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِ مِن ضُرٍّ وَآتَيْنَاهُ أَهْلَهُ وَمِثْلَهُم مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِنَا وَذِكْرَى لِلْعَابِدِينَ

84.             Faistajabna lahu fakashafna ma bihi min durrin waataynahu ahlahu wamithlahum maAAahum rahmatan min AAindina wathikra lilAAabideena
WE accepted his prayer and WE relieved him from his pain, and just did not gave back his family to him but also gave him as many more with it, as OUR special mercy, and for this reason that it should be a lesson for the righteous people. 

وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِدْرِيسَ وَذَا الْكِفْلِ كُلٌّ مِّنَ الصَّابِرِينَ

85.             WaismaAAeela waidreesa watha alkifli kullun mina alssabireena
And the same blessing was given to Isma’îl, Idris, and Dhul-Kifl because they all were patient (As-Sâbirin) people.

وَأَدْخَلْنَاهُمْ فِي رَحْمَتِنَا إِنَّهُم مِّنَ الصَّالِحِينَ

86.             Waadkhalnahum fee rahmatina innahum mina alssaliheena
And WE admitted them to OUR Mercy because they were from the pious people.

وَذَا النُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَاضِبًا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَنَادَى فِي الظُّلُمَاتِ أَن لَّا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

87.             Watha alnnooni ith thahaba mughadiban fathanna an lan naqdira AAalayhi fanada fee alththulumati an la ilaha illa anta subhanaka innee kuntu mina alththalimeena
And WE also blessed the one with fish (Dhan-Nûn).  Recall when he went away in anger and had thought that WE would not hold (him) accountable on it.  Eventually he called (prayed) from the darkness (saying):  “There is no Allâh except YOU (Lâ ilâha illa Anta), YOU are Pure; surely I have done wrong (to myself).” 

فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ مِنَ الْغَمِّ وَكَذَلِكَ نُنجِي الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

88.             Faistajabna lahu wanajjaynahu mina alghammi wakathalika nunjee almumineena
Then WE accepted his prayer and delivered him from the distress and in the same way, WE save the true believers.

وَزَكَرِيَّا إِذْ نَادَى رَبَّهُ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِي فَرْدًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الْوَارِثِينَ

89.             Wazakariyya ith nada rabbahu rabbi la tatharnee fardan waanta khayru alwaritheena
And to Zakariyâ, when he prayed to his Râbb: "O Râbb, do not leave me alone (childless), and YOU alone are the best inheritor." 

فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ يَحْيَى وَأَصْلَحْنَا لَهُ زَوْجَهُ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًا وَرَهَبًا وَكَانُوا لَنَا خَاشِعِينَ

90.             Faistajabna lahu wawahabna lahu yahya waaslahna lahu zawjahu innahum kanoo yusariAAoona fee alkhayrati wayadAAoonana raghaban warahaban wakanoo lana khashiAAeena
So, WE accepted his prayer and gave him Yahya and cured his wife (to bear a child) for him.  These people used to exert for the righteous deeds and they called US with Love and Fear, and were submissive to US.

وَالَّتِي أَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا فَنَفَخْنَا فِيهَا مِن رُّوحِنَا وَجَعَلْنَاهَا وَابْنَهَا آيَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ

91.             Waallatee ahsanat farjaha fanafakhna feeha min roohina wajaAAalnaha waibnaha ayatan lilAAalameena
And that woman who had guarded her chastity (Maryam).  WE breathed into her through OUR Rûh (Angel Jibrael) and made her and her son ('Iesa) a sign for all mankind (Al-Alamîn).

إِنَّ هَذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُونِ

92.             Inna hathihi ommatukum ommatan wahidatan waana rabbukum faoAAbudooni
Your Nation (Ummâh) is in fact one nation and I am your Râbb, therefore you only serve ME (Alone). 

وَتَقَطَّعُوا أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ كُلٌّ إِلَيْنَا رَاجِعُونَ

93.             WataqattaAAoo amrahum baynahum kullun ilayna rajiAAoona
But (this is the mischief of the people that) they have broken-up their Deen (the way of life) into pieces (many sects)--all have to return to US.  (R) 6 

فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِنَ الصَّالِحَاتِ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَا كُفْرَانَ لِسَعْيِهِ وَإِنَّا لَهُ كَاتِبُونَ

94.             Faman yaAAmal mina alssalihati wahuwa muminun fala kufrana lisaAAyihi wainna lahu katiboona
Then whoever will do righteous deeds provided he/she is a believer, his/her work (deeds) will not be rejected, and WE are writing it down.

وَحَرَامٌ عَلَى قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا أَنَّهُمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ

95.             Waharamun AAala qaryatin ahlaknaha annahum la yarjiAAoona
And it is not possible that the town WE have destroyed could be returned.  

حَتَّى إِذَا فُتِحَتْ يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٍ يَنسِلُونَ

96.             Hatta itha futihat yajooju wamajooju wahum min kulli hadabin yansiloona
Until when the Gog and Magog (Ya'jûj and Ma'jûj) will be released and they will show up from every height,

وَاقْتَرَبَ الْوَعْدُ الْحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِيَ شَاخِصَةٌ أَبْصَارُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا قَدْ كُنَّا فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَذَا بَلْ كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ

97.             Waiqtaraba alwaAAdu alhaqqu faitha hiya shakhisatun absaru allatheena kafaroo ya waylana qad kunna fee ghaflatin min hatha bal kunna thalimeena
And the time of fulfillment for the true promise will come closer then suddenly the eyes of those people who had committed infidelity (Kufr) will remain wide-open.  They will say: "Woe to us, we were negligent from this thing, moreover we were the wrongdoers (Zâlimûn)." 

إِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنتُمْ لَهَا وَارِدُونَ

98.             Innakum wama taAAbudoona min dooni Allahi hasabu jahannama antum laha waridoona
No doubt you and your those deities whom you worship except Allâh are the fuel of Hell; there you have to go. 

لَوْ كَانَ هَؤُلَاء آلِهَةً مَّا وَرَدُوهَا وَكُلٌّ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ

99.             Law kana haolai alihatan ma waradooha wakullun feeha khalidoona
If they would be real deities (Ilâhan) then they would not have gone there (in Hell).  Now all of them have to stay there forever. 

لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ وَهُمْ فِيهَا لَا يَسْمَعُونَ

100.          Lahum feeha zafeerun wahum feeha la yasmaAAoona
There they will cry of distress and the situation will be that nothing could be heard.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ سَبَقَتْ لَهُم مِّنَّا الْحُسْنَى أُوْلَئِكَ عَنْهَا مُبْعَدُونَ

101.          Inna allatheena sabaqat lahum minna alhusna olaika AAanha mubAAadoona
As for those people for whom WE shall already have decided for the good, then they surely will be kept away from it,

لَا يَسْمَعُونَ حَسِيسَهَا وَهُمْ فِي مَا اشْتَهَتْ أَنفُسُهُمْ خَالِدُونَ

102.          La yasmaAAoona haseesaha wahum fee ma ishtahat anfusuhum khalidoona
(They) Will not ever hear the slightest sound of it (Hell) and they will live forever among those things which their own-selves desire the most, 

لَا يَحْزُنُهُمُ الْفَزَعُ الْأَكْبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّاهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ هَذَا يَوْمُكُمُ الَّذِي كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ

103.          La yahzunuhumu alfazaAAu alakbaru watatalaqqahumu almalaikatu hatha yawmukumu allathee kuntum tooAAadoona
The time of greatest distress will not grieve them at all and the angels will welcome them with an open arms, "This is your the Day that you were promised." 

يَوْمَ نَطْوِي السَّمَاء كَطَيِّ السِّجِلِّ لِلْكُتُبِ كَمَا بَدَأْنَا أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍ نُّعِيدُهُ وَعْدًا عَلَيْنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ

104.          Yawma natwee alssamaa katayyi alssijlli lilkutubi kama badana awwala khalqin nuAAeeduhu waAAdan AAalayna inna kunna faAAileena
That Day when WE shall roll-up the skies like a historical document is rolled-up in a ledger.  As WE had originated the creation, first time the same way WE shall repeat it.  This is a promise binding on US, and however WE have to do this thing (to fulfill OUR Promise). 

وَلَقَدْ كَتَبْنَا فِي الزَّبُورِ مِن بَعْدِ الذِّكْرِ أَنَّ الْأَرْضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِيَ الصَّالِحُونَ

105.          Walaqad katabna fee alzzaboori min baAAdi alththikri anna alarda yarithuha AAibadiya alssalihoona
And WE have written this in Zabûr (Psalms) after advice that OUR righteous servants will be inheritor of the earth.

إِنَّ فِي هَذَا لَبَلَاغًا لِّقَوْمٍ عَابِدِينَ

106.          Inna fee hatha labalaghan liqawmin AAabideena
There is a big news in it (Al-Qur'ân) for the devotees (who worship Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala).

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ

107.          Wama arsalnaka illa rahmatan lilAAalameena
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), WE have sent you as a mercy for (all the people of) the entire world ('Alamîn). 

قُلْ إِنَّمَا يُوحَى إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَا إِلَهُكُمْ إِلَهٌ وَاحِدٌ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ

108.          Qul innama yooha ilayya annama ilahukum ilahun wahidun fahal antum muslimoona
Tell them: "The revelation that comes to me is -- that your Deity (Ilâh) is only one Allâh (Ilâh), then do you submit (to HIM)”?

فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَقُلْ آذَنتُكُمْ عَلَى سَوَاء وَإِنْ أَدْرِي أَقَرِيبٌ أَم بَعِيدٌ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ

109.          Fain tawallaw faqul athantukum AAala sawain wain adree aqareebun am baAAeedun ma tooAAadoona
If they turn away then say, "I have openly warned you.  Now I do not know whether that thing which is being promised to you is near or far."

إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْتُمُونَ

110.          Innahu yaAAlamu aljahra mina alqawli wayaAAlamu ma taktumoona
Allâh knows those things, which are spoken aloud (openly), and those things as well which you whisper secretly.

وَإِنْ أَدْرِي لَعَلَّهُ فِتْنَةٌ لَّكُمْ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَى حِينٍ

111.          Wain adree laAAallahu fitnatun lakum wamataAAun ila heenin
I think that perhaps this (delay) may be a trial for you and you are being given a time to enjoy for a fixed term.”

قَالَ رَبِّ احْكُم بِالْحَقِّ وَرَبُّنَا الرَّحْمَنُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَى مَا تَصِفُونَ

112.         Qala rabbi ohkum bialhaqqi warabbuna alrrahmanu almustaAAanu AAala ma tasifoona
(Finally) Messenger (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: "O my Râbb!  Pass the Judgment with truth, and O people, OUR Râbb the Most Loving is great help for us against the things you fabricate.”  (R) 7

“Al-Hajj - Pilgrimage” – (Madanni - 22^nd Surah)

Total Verses: 78

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّ زَلْزَلَةَ السَّاعَةِ شَيْءٌ عَظِيمٌ

1.             Ya ayyuha alnnasu ittaqoo rabbakum inna zalzalata alssaAAati shayon AAatheemun
O people, save yourselves from the anger of your Râbb, the fact is that the earthquake of the Hour of Doom (Resurrection) is a titanic (horrible) thing.

يَوْمَ تَرَوْنَهَا تَذْهَلُ كُلُّ مُرْضِعَةٍ عَمَّا أَرْضَعَتْ وَتَضَعُ كُلُّ ذَاتِ حَمْلٍ حَمْلَهَا وَتَرَى النَّاسَ سُكَارَى وَمَا هُم بِسُكَارَى وَلَكِنَّ عَذَابَ اللَّهِ شَدِيدٌ

2.              Yawma tarawnaha tathhalu kullu murdiAAatin AAamma ardaAAat watadaAAu kullu thati hamlin hamlaha watara alnnasa sukara wama hum bisukara walakinna AAathaba Allahi shadeedun
The Day you will see it, the situation will be that every nursing mother will become ignorant from her suckling, every pregnant will miscarry, and people will appear to you as drunk, though they will not be drunk, whereas the Torment of Allâh will be so severe.

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يُجَادِلُ فِي اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّبِعُ كُلَّ شَيْطَانٍ مَّرِيدٍ

3.               Wamina alnnasi man yujadilu fee Allahi bighayri AAilmin wayattabiAAu kulla shaytanin mareedin
There are some such people who debate about Allâh without having any knowledge and start following every rebellious Shaitân.

كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ مَن تَوَلَّاهُ فَأَنَّهُ يُضِلُّهُ وَيَهْدِيهِ إِلَى عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ

4.               Kutiba AAalayhi annahu man tawallahu faannahu yudilluhu wayahdeehi ila AAathabi alssaAAeeri
Whereas it has been written in his fate that whosoever will take him as friend, he will mislead him/her and will show the path to the torment of the Hell.

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِن كُنتُمْ فِي رَيْبٍ مِّنَ الْبَعْثِ فَإِنَّا خَلَقْنَاكُم مِّن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ مِن مُّضْغَةٍ مُّخَلَّقَةٍ وَغَيْرِ مُخَلَّقَةٍ لِّنُبَيِّنَ لَكُمْ وَنُقِرُّ فِي الْأَرْحَامِ مَا نَشَاء إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ثُمَّ نُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلًا ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوا أَشُدَّكُمْ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُتَوَفَّى وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَى أَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ لِكَيْلَا يَعْلَمَ مِن بَعْدِ عِلْمٍ شَيْئًا وَتَرَى الْأَرْضَ هَامِدَةً فَإِذَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا الْمَاء اهْتَزَّتْ وَرَبَتْ وَأَنبَتَتْ مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ بَهِيجٍ

5.               Ya ayyuha alnnasu in kuntum fee raybin mina albaAAthi fainna khalaqnakum min turabin thumma min nutfatin thumma min AAalaqatin thumma min mudghatin mukhallaqatin waghayri mukhallaqatin linubayyina lakum wanuqirru fee alarhami ma nashao ila ajalin musamman thumma nukhrijukum tiflan thumma litablughoo ashuddakum waminkum man yutawaffa waminkum man yuraddu ila arthali alAAumuri likayla yaAAlama min baAAdi AAilmin shayan watara alarda hamidatan faitha anzalna AAalayha almaa ihtazzat warabat waanbatat min kulli zawjin baheejin
O people, if you have any doubt about the life after death then you must know that WE have created you from mud, then from sperm (Nutfah), then from clot of blood, then from piece of flesh which is with shape and as well as shapeless.  (WE are telling this) So that WE manifest the reality to you.  Whichever sperm (Nutfah) WE wanted, (WE) cause it to remain in the wombs for an appointed term, then (WE) bring you out in the shape of child (then nourish you) so that you may reach to the age of full strength.  And some among you are called back early and some are sent to an old age (miserable period) so that after knowing everything should not know anything.  And you see that the land is dry (barren), then wherever WE send rain on it, it suddenly flourished and outgrew and it started producing all kinds of beautiful produces. 

ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنَّهُ يُحْيِي الْمَوْتَى وَأَنَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

6.               Thalika bianna Allaha huwa alhaqqu waannahu yuhyee almawta waannahu AAala kulli shayin qadeerun
All this is so because Allâh is the Truth, and HE gives life to the dead, and HE has power over everything,

وَأَنَّ السَّاعَةَ آتِيَةٌ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهَا وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْعَثُ مَن فِي الْقُبُورِ

7.               Waanna alssaAAata atiyatun la rayba feeha waanna Allaha yabAAathu man fee alquboori
And (it is a proof of this thing) that the Hour of Doom will certainly come, there is no reason to doubt about it, and Allâh will certainly resurrect those people who are gone into the graves.

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يُجَادِلُ فِي اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَلَا هُدًى وَلَا كِتَابٍ مُّنِيرٍ

8.               Wamina alnnasi man yujadilu fee Allahi bighayri AAilmin wala hudan wala kitabin muneerin
Some other people are such who disputes about Allâh without any knowledge and guidance and enlightening Book, (with arrogance)

ثَانِيَ عِطْفِهِ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا خِزْيٌ وَنُذِيقُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَذَابَ الْحَرِيقِ

9.               Thaniya AAitfihi liyudilla AAan sabeeli Allahi lahu fee alddunya khizyun wanutheequhu yawma alqiyamati AAathaba alhareeqi
Turning neck in pride so that they mislead people from the path of Allâh.  For such person there is disgrace in this worldly life and on the Day of Resurrection WE shall make him/her taste the torment of burning Fire --

ذَلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاكَ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ

10.            Thalika bima qaddamat yadaka waanna Allaha laysa bithallamin lilAAabeedi
This is your that future which your own hands have prepared for you otherwise Allâh is not unjust to HIS servants.  (R) 8 

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ عَلَى حَرْفٍ فَإِنْ أَصَابَهُ خَيْرٌ اطْمَأَنَّ بِهِ وَإِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ فِتْنَةٌ انقَلَبَ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ خَسِرَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةَ ذَلِكَ هُوَ الْخُسْرَانُ الْمُبِينُ

11.            Wamina alnnasi man yaAAbudu Allaha AAala harfin fain asabahu khayrun itmaanna bihi wain asabathu fitnatun inqalaba AAala wajhihi khasira alddunya waalakhirata thalika huwa alkhusranu almubeenu
And there is someone among the people who serve Allâh standing on the edge (of Faith and Doubt), if benefited then satisfied and if some calamity comes then turns back.  His/her world as well as the Hereafter is lost.  This is the real loss. 

يَدْعُو مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَضُرُّهُ وَمَا لَا يَنفَعُهُ ذَلِكَ هُوَ الضَّلَالُ الْبَعِيدُ

12.            YadAAoo min dooni Allahi ma la yadurruhu wama la yanfaAAuhu thalika huwa alddalalu albaAAeedu
Then except Allâh he/she calls those who can neither harm nor benefit him/her.  This is the peek of going astray.

يَدْعُو لَمَن ضَرُّهُ أَقْرَبُ مِن نَّفْعِهِ لَبِئْسَ الْمَوْلَى وَلَبِئْسَ الْعَشِيرُ

13.            YadAAoo laman darruhu aqrabu min nafAAihi labisa almawla walabisa alAAasheeru
He/she calls those whose harm is nearer to their profit the worst is his/her patron (Maulâ) and worst is his/her companion.

إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُدْخِلُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَفْعَلُ مَا يُرِيدُ

14.            Inna Allaha yudkhilu allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu inna Allaha yafAAalu ma yureedu
(In contrary to this) Those people who brought Faith and did righteous deeds Allâh will surely admit them into the Gardens underneath which the canals will be flowing.  Allâh does what HE wants. 

مَن كَانَ يَظُنُّ أَن لَّن يَنصُرَهُ اللَّهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ بِسَبَبٍ إِلَى السَّمَاء ثُمَّ لِيَقْطَعْ فَلْيَنظُرْ هَلْ يُذْهِبَنَّ كَيْدُهُ مَا يَغِيظُ

15.            Man kana yathunnu an lan yansurahu Allahu fee alddunya waalakhirati falyamdud bisababin ila alssamai thumma liyaqtaAA falyanthur hal yuthhibanna kayduhu ma yagheethu
Whosoever thinks that Allâh will not help him/her in this world and in the Hereafter, he/she should try to crack (the sky) by ascending to the sky with the help of rope and then sees if his/her plan can avert any such thing, which he/she dislikes. 

وَكَذَلِكَ أَنزَلْنَاهُ آيَاتٍ بَيِّنَاتٍ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَهْدِي مَن يُرِيدُ

16.            Wakathalika anzalnahu ayatin bayyinatin waanna Allaha yahdee man yureedu
Thus, WE have revealed this Al-Qur'ân with such plain and clear things and Allâh gives guidance whomsoever HE wills.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَالَّذِينَ هَادُوا وَالصَّابِئِينَ وَالنَّصَارَى وَالْمَجُوسَ وَالَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ

17.            Inna allatheena amanoo waallatheena hadoo waalssabieena waalnnasara waalmajoosa waallatheena ashrakoo inna Allaha yafsilu baynahum yawma alqiyamati inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin shaheedun
Those people who brought Faith, and those who became Jews, and the Sabians, and the Christians, and the Magians, and those who committed idolatry (shirk), Allâh will judge among them on the Day of Judgment, everything is the Sight of Allâh.

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَسْجُدُ لَهُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ وَالشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ وَالنُّجُومُ وَالْجِبَالُ وَالشَّجَرُ وَالدَّوَابُّ وَكَثِيرٌ مِّنَ النَّاسِ وَكَثِيرٌ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِ الْعَذَابُ وَمَن يُهِنِ اللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُ مِن مُّكْرِمٍ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَاء(Al- Sajjda)

18.            Alam tara anna Allaha yasjudu lahu man fee alssamawati waman fee alardi waalshshamsu waalqamaru waalnnujoomu waaljibalu waalshshajaru waalddawabbu wakatheerun mina alnnasi wakatheerun haqqa AAalayhi alAAathabu waman yuhini Allahu fama lahu min mukrimin inna Allaha yafAAalu ma yashao
Don’t you see that whatever is in the skies and in the earth -- bows down in prostration before Allâh the sun and the moon and the stars and the mountains and the trees and animals (Ad-Dawâb) and many of mankind and many those people who have merited for the punishment?  And whomsoever Allâh disgraces then there is none who can grant an honor -- Allâh does whatever HE wants

هَذَانِ خَصْمَانِ اخْتَصَمُوا فِي رَبِّهِمْ فَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا قُطِّعَتْ لَهُمْ ثِيَابٌ مِّن نَّارٍ يُصَبُّ مِن فَوْقِ رُؤُوسِهِمُ الْحَمِيمُ

19.            Hathani khasmani ikhtasamoo fee rabbihim faallatheena kafaroo quttiAAat lahum thiyabun min narin yusabbu min fawqi ruoosihimu alhameemu
These are the two groups (believers and infidels) who have dispute among them about their Râbb.  Those people among them who have committed infidelity (Kufr) the garments of fire have been cut for them; boiling water will be poured over their heads

يُصْهَرُ بِهِ مَا فِي بُطُونِهِمْ وَالْجُلُودُ

20.            Yusharu bihi ma fee butoonihim waaljuloodu
With it not only their skins but the inner parts of their bellies will also melt down,

وَلَهُم مَّقَامِعُ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ

21.            Walahum maqamiAAu min hadeedin
And there will be iron battle-axes to take care of them (to punish them).

كُلَّمَا أَرَادُوا أَن يَخْرُجُوا مِنْهَا مِنْ غَمٍّ أُعِيدُوا فِيهَا وَذُوقُوا عَذَابَ الْحَرِيقِ

22.            Kullama aradoo an yakhrujoo minha min ghammin oAAeedoo feeha wathooqoo AAathaba alhareeqi
Whenever in distress they will try to escape from the hell then they will be driven back into it and (it will be) said to them: "Now taste the torment of burning."  (R) 9

إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُدْخِلُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ يُحَلَّوْنَ فِيهَا مِنْ أَسَاوِرَ مِن ذَهَبٍ وَلُؤْلُؤًا وَلِبَاسُهُمْ فِيهَا حَرِيرٌ

23.            Inna Allaha yudkhilu allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu yuhallawna feeha min asawira min thahabin waluluan walibasuhum feeha hareerun
(On the other side) Those people who brought Faith and did righteous deeds, Allâh will admit them to such Gardens underneath which canals will be flowing.  There they will be beautified with bracelets of gold and pearls and their garments will be of silk. 

وَهُدُوا إِلَى الطَّيِّبِ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ وَهُدُوا إِلَى صِرَاطِ الْحَمِيدِ

24.            Wahudoo ila alttayyibi mina alqawli wahudoo ila sirati alhameedi
They were guided to accept the pure Word (Lâ ilâha ill-Allâh) and they were shown the Path of Allâh all Praise-Worthy.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَالْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ الَّذِي جَعَلْنَاهُ لِلنَّاسِ سَوَاء الْعَاكِفُ فِيهِ وَالْبَادِ وَمَن يُرِدْ فِيهِ بِإِلْحَادٍ بِظُلْمٍ نُذِقْهُ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ

25.            Inna allatheena kafaroo wayasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi waalmasjidi alharami allathee jaAAalnahu lilnnasi sawaan alAAakifu feehi waalbadi waman yurid feehi biilhadin bithulmin nuthiqhu min AAathabin aleemin
Those people who committed infidelity (Kufr) and those who are stopping (today) from the Path of Allâh and hinder the visitation of Masjid-al-Harâm (at Makkah) which WE have made for all the people, where the rights of the natives and the foreigners (visitors) are equal (their attitude is surely punishable).  Whoever will adopt the way of oppression except peace in it (Masjid-al-Harâm) WE shall make him/her to taste a painful torment.  (R) 10

وَإِذْ بَوَّأْنَا لِإِبْرَاهِيمَ مَكَانَ الْبَيْتِ أَن لَّا تُشْرِكْ بِي شَيْئًا وَطَهِّرْ بَيْتِيَ لِلطَّائِفِينَ وَالْقَائِمِينَ وَالرُّكَّعِ السُّجُودِ

26.            Waith bawwana liibraheema makana albayti an la tushrik bee shayan watahhir baytiya lilttaifeena waalqaimeena waalrrukkaAAi alssujoodi
Recall that time when WE suggested the place of this Home (Masjid-al-Harâm) for Ibrâhim (with this guidance) that do not associate anything with ME, and sanctify MY House for those who circulate around it (perform Tawâf) and who stand and bow down and prostrate (in prayer),

وَأَذِّن فِي النَّاسِ بِالْحَجِّ يَأْتُوكَ رِجَالًا وَعَلَى كُلِّ ضَامِرٍ يَأْتِينَ مِن كُلِّ فَجٍّ عَمِيقٍ

27.            Waaththin fee alnnasi bialhajji yatooka rijalan waAAala kulli damirin yateena min kulli fajjin AAameeqin
And give general invitation to mankind for Hajj (pilgrimage) that they should come to you on foot and riding camels from every place faraway or near, 

لِيَشْهَدُوا مَنَافِعَ لَهُمْ وَيَذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ فِي أَيَّامٍ مَّعْلُومَاتٍ عَلَى مَا رَزَقَهُم مِّن بَهِيمَةِ الْأَنْعَامِ فَكُلُوا مِنْهَا وَأَطْعِمُوا الْبَائِسَ الْفَقِيرَ

28.            Liyashhadoo manafiAAa lahum wayathkuroo isma Allahi fee ayyamin maAAloomatin AAala ma razaqahum min baheemati alanAAami fakuloo minha waatAAimoo albaisa alfaqeera
So that they may witness the benefits which are placed in it for them, and in the prescribed days (10^th, 11^th, 12^th, and 13^th day of Dhul-Hijjâh) pronounce the Name of Allâh over those animals which Allâh has given them (Allâh-u-Akbar, Allâh-umma Minka WA Ilaik), they should eat (from that meat) and also give to the poor and indigent, 

ثُمَّ لْيَقْضُوا تَفَثَهُمْ وَلْيُوفُوا نُذُورَهُمْ وَلْيَطَّوَّفُوا بِالْبَيْتِ الْعَتِيقِ

29.            Thumma lyaqdoo tafathahum walyoofoo nuthoorahum walyattawwafoo bialbayti alAAateeqi
Then they should remove their “dirt” (shaving and cutting of hair, Manâsik of Hajj) and fulfill their commitments, and circulate around (perform Tawâf of) this Ancient House (the Ka'bah in Makkah).

ذَلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ حُرُمَاتِ اللَّهِ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّهُ عِندَ رَبِّهِ وَأُحِلَّتْ لَكُمُ الْأَنْعَامُ إِلَّا مَا يُتْلَى عَلَيْكُمْ فَاجْتَنِبُوا الرِّجْسَ مِنَ الْأَوْثَانِ وَاجْتَنِبُوا قَوْلَ الزُّورِ

30.            Thalika waman yuAAaththim hurumati Allahi fahuwa khayrun lahu AAinda rabbihi waohillat lakumu alanAAamu illa ma yutla AAalaykum faijtaniboo alrrijsa mina alawthani waijtaniboo qawla alzzoori
This was (the purpose of building the Ka'bah) and whoever honors the sacred things established by Allâh then it is best for him/her in the Sight of his Râbb.  And the cattle are made lawful for you, except those things, which have been told to you.  Therefore get away from the filth of idols; avoid from the lies (false statements),

حُنَفَاء لِلَّهِ غَيْرَ مُشْرِكِينَ بِهِ وَمَن يُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ فَكَأَنَّمَا خَرَّ مِنَ السَّمَاء فَتَخْطَفُهُ الطَّيْرُ أَوْ تَهْوِي بِهِ الرِّيحُ فِي مَكَانٍ سَحِيقٍ

31.            Hunafaa lillahi ghayra mushrikeena bihi waman yushrik biAllahi fakaannama kharra mina alssamai fatakhtafuhu alttayru aw tahwee bihi alrreehu fee makanin saheeqin
Become the servants of Allâh with loyalty (Hunafâ' Lillâh); do not associate anyone with HIM.  And whoever associates partners (commits shirk) with Allâh then as if he/she has fallen from the sky, now either birds will snatch him/her away or the wind will blow him/her off and throw at such place where he/she will be burst into pieces.

ذَلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ شَعَائِرَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهَا مِن تَقْوَى الْقُلُوبِ

32.            Thalika waman yuAAaththim shaAAaira Allahi fainnaha min taqwa alquloobi
This is the reality of the matter (understand it well), and whoever respects the symbols established by Allâh then it is truly from the piety of the heart.

لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ثُمَّ مَحِلُّهَا إِلَى الْبَيْتِ الْعَتِيقِ

33.            Thalika waman yuAAaththim shaAAaira Allahi fainnaha min taqwa alquloobi
You have the right to take benefit from them (the cattle of sacrifice) for an appointed term, then their place (of sacrifice) is near the ancient House (the Harâm).  (R) 11

وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ جَعَلْنَا مَنسَكًا لِيَذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَى مَا رَزَقَهُم مِّن بَهِيمَةِ الْأَنْعَامِ فَإِلَهُكُمْ إِلَهٌ وَاحِدٌ فَلَهُ أَسْلِمُوا وَبَشِّرِ الْمُخْبِتِينَ

34.            Walikulli ommatin jaAAalna mansakan liyathkuroo isma Allahi AAala ma razaqahum min baheemati alanAAami failahukum ilahun wahidun falahu aslimoo wabashshiri almukhbiteena
WE have fixed a way of sacrifice for every nation so that the people (of that nation) should pronounce the Name of Allâh over those animals, which HE has granted them.  (In these different ways the purpose is only one)  Therefore, your Allâh (Ilâh) is only One Allâh (Ilâh) and you only submit to HIM.  And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), give glad tidings to those who have adopted the way of humbleness (Mukhbitin),

الَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ اللَّهُ وَجِلَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَالصَّابِرِينَ عَلَى مَا أَصَابَهُمْ وَالْمُقِيمِي الصَّلَاةِ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ

35.            Allatheena itha thukira Allahu wajilat quloobuhum waalssabireena AAala ma asabahum waalmuqeemee alssalati wamimma razaqnahum yunfiqoona
Their condition is such that when they hear about Allâh their hearts tremble with fear, whatever calamity comes on them they strive with patience, establish prayer (Salât), and whatever provisions WE have given them (they) spend from it.

وَالْبُدْنَ جَعَلْنَاهَا لَكُم مِّن شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ لَكُمْ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ فَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا صَوَافَّ فَإِذَا وَجَبَتْ جُنُوبُهَا فَكُلُوا مِنْهَا وَأَطْعِمُوا الْقَانِعَ وَالْمُعْتَرَّ كَذَلِكَ سَخَّرْنَاهَا لَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

36.            Waalbudna jaAAalnaha lakum min shaAAairi Allahi lakum feeha khayrun faothkuroo isma Allahi AAalayha sawaffa faitha wajabat junoobuha fakuloo minha waatAAimoo alqaniAAa waalmuAAtarra kathalika sakhkharnaha lakum laAAallakum tashkuroona
And WE have included the camels (of sacrifice, the Budn) for you in the Symbols of Allâh there is good for you in them, therefore make them to stand and pronounce the Name of Allâh over them, and when (after sacrifice) their backs touch the ground then eat yourselves from it and also feed those who are sitting in gratification and also to those who submit their need.  WE have subjected these animals for you in this way so that you may be grateful.

لَن يَنَالَ اللَّهَ لُحُومُهَا وَلَا دِمَاؤُهَا وَلَكِن يَنَالُهُ التَّقْوَى مِنكُمْ كَذَلِكَ سَخَّرَهَا لَكُمْ لِتُكَبِّرُوا اللَّهَ عَلَى مَا هَدَاكُمْ وَبَشِّرِ الْمُحْسِنِينَ

37.            Lan yanala Allaha luhoomuha wala dimaoha walakin yanaluhu alttaqwa minkum kathalika sakhkharaha lakum litukabbiroo Allaha AAala ma hadakum wabashshiri almuhsineena
It is neither their meat nor blood that reaches Allâh -- but it is your piety, which reaches HIM.  HE has subjected them for you in this way so that you may proclaim HIS Greatness on the Guidance HE has given you.  And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), give good news to the pious people (Muhsinûn).

إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُدَافِعُ عَنِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ خَوَّانٍ كَفُورٍ

38.            Inna Allaha yudafiAAu AAani allatheena amanoo inna Allaha la yuhibbu kulla khawwanin kafoorin
Certainly, Allâh defends from the side of those people who have brought Faith.  Certainly, Allâh does not like any treacherous denier of blessings.  (R) 12

أُذِنَ لِلَّذِينَ يُقَاتَلُونَ بِأَنَّهُمْ ظُلِمُوا وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَى نَصْرِهِمْ لَقَدِيرٌ

39.            Othina lillatheena yuqataloona biannahum thulimoo wainna Allaha AAala nasrihim laqadeerun
Permission has been granted to those people against whom the war is directed, because they are the oppressed, and certainly, Allâh is able to help them (with victory).

الَّذِينَ أُخْرِجُوا مِن دِيَارِهِمْ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ إِلَّا أَن يَقُولُوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ وَلَوْلَا دَفْعُ اللَّهِ النَّاسَ بَعْضَهُم بِبَعْضٍ لَّهُدِّمَتْ صَوَامِعُ وَبِيَعٌ وَصَلَوَاتٌ وَمَسَاجِدُ يُذْكَرُ فِيهَا اسْمُ اللَّهِ كَثِيرًا وَلَيَنصُرَنَّ اللَّهُ مَن يَنصُرُهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَقَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٌ

40.            Allatheena okhrijoo min diyarihim bighayri haqqin illa an yaqooloo rabbuna Allahu walawla dafAAu Allahi alnnasa baAAdahum bibaAAdin lahuddimat sawamiAAu wabiyaAAun wasalawatun wamasajidu yuthkaru feeha ismu Allahi katheeran walayansuranna Allahu man yansuruhu inna Allaha laqawiyyun AAazeezun
These are those people who have been expelled unjustly from their homes only because they used to say, "Our Râbb is Allâh".  If Allâh does not keep turning away people with each other then monasteries and churches and synagogues (house of worship) and Masjids (Muslims place of worship) -- in which the Name of Allâh is mentioned in abundance all would be overturned.  Allâh will surely help those people who will help HIM.  Allâh is Omnipotent and All-Mighty.

الَّذِينَ إِن مَّكَّنَّاهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَوُا الزَّكَاةَ وَأَمَرُوا بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَنَهَوْا عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَلِلَّهِ عَاقِبَةُ الْأُمُورِ

41.            Allatheena in makkannahum fee alardi aqamoo alssalata waatawoo alzzakata waamaroo bialmaAAroofi wanahaw AAani almunkari walillahi AAaqibatu alomoori
These are those people whom if WE give power to rule in the land then (they) will establish prayer (Salât) and will pay the poor-dues (Zakât), will order for the good (Al-Ma'rûf) and will forbid from the evil (Al-Munkar).  And the outcome of all the affairs is in the Hands of Allâh.

وَإِن يُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَعَادٌ وَثَمُودُ

42.            Wain yukaththibooka faqad kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin waAAadun wathamoodu
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), if they (infidels) deny you then before them the people of Nûh and 'Ad and Thamûd, 

وَقَوْمُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ

43.            Waqawmu ibraheema waqawmu lootin
And the people of Ibrâhim and the people of Lout,

وَأَصْحَابُ مَدْيَنَ وَكُذِّبَ مُوسَى فَأَمْلَيْتُ لِلْكَافِرِينَ ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهُمْ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ

44.            Waashabu madyana wakuththiba moosa faamlaytu lilkafireena thumma akhathtuhum fakayfa kana nakeeri
And the dwellers of Madyan (Midian) have already rejected (their Prophets) and Mûsa was also disowned.  At first, I granted respite to all of the deniers of Truth then seized them.  Now see how MY Punishment was. 

فَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٌ فَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَى عُرُوشِهَا وَبِئْرٍ مُّعَطَّلَةٍ وَقَصْرٍ مَّشِيدٍ

45.            Fakaayyin min qaryatin ahlaknaha wahiya thalimatun fahiya khawiyatun AAala AAurooshiha wabirin muAAattalatin waqasrin masheedin
How many wrongdoing towns, which WE have destroyed and today (they) are lying upside down on their roofs, how many wells are abandoned, and how many castles are with crumbling walls.

أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَتَكُونَ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ يَعْقِلُونَ بِهَا أَوْ آذَانٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَعْمَى الْأَبْصَارُ وَلَكِن تَعْمَى الْقُلُوبُ الَّتِي فِي الصُّدُورِ

46.            Afalam yaseeroo fee alardi fatakoona lahum quloobun yaAAqiloona biha aw athanun yasmaAAoona biha fainnaha la taAAma alabsaru walakin taAAma alquloobu allatee fee alssudoori
Have these people not traveled through the land that their hearts would be thoughtful or their ears would be hearing?  The fact is that the eyes do not turn blind but those hearts turn blind, which are in chest. 

وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِالْعَذَابِ وَلَن يُخْلِفَ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ وَإِنَّ يَوْمًا عِندَ رَبِّكَ كَأَلْفِ سَنَةٍ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّونَ

47.            WayastaAAjiloonaka bialAAathabi walan yukhlifa Allahu waAAdahu wainna yawman AAinda rabbika kaalfi sanatin mimma taAAuddoona
These people are asking to hasten the calamity.  Allâh will never go against HIS Promise, but one-day of your Râbb is equal to thousand years of your count. 

وَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَمْلَيْتُ لَهَا وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٌ ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهَا وَإِلَيَّ الْمَصِيرُ

48.            Wakaayyin min qaryatin amlaytu laha wahiya thalimatun thumma akhathtuha wailayya almaseeru
There are many towns, which were cruel, at first, I gave them respite, then seized them, and all have to return to ME.  (R) 13 

قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّمَا أَنَا لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ

49.            Qul ya ayyuha alnnasu innama ana lakum natheerun mubeenun
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), say, "O mankind, I am just like that person for you who clearly warns (before the bad time comes)”. 

فَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَرِزْقٌ كَرِيمٌ

50.            Faallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum maghfiratun warizqun kareemun
Then those who will bring Faith and do righteous deeds, there is forgiveness and true provisions (Rizqûn Karîm) for them.

وَالَّذِينَ سَعَوْا فِي آيَاتِنَا مُعَاجِزِينَ أُوْلَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَحِيمِ

51.            Waallatheena saAAaw fee ayatina muAAajizeena olaika ashabu aljaheemi
And those who will strive to betray OUR Revelation (Ayât) they are the friends of Hell.

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ وَلَا نَبِيٍّ إِلَّا إِذَا تَمَنَّى أَلْقَى الشَّيْطَانُ فِي أُمْنِيَّتِهِ فَيَنسَخُ اللَّهُ مَا يُلْقِي الشَّيْطَانُ ثُمَّ يُحْكِمُ اللَّهُ آيَاتِهِ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ

52.            Wama arsalna min qablika min rasoolin wala nabiyyin illa itha tamanna alqa alshshaytanu fee omniyyatihi fayansakhu Allahu ma yulqee alshshaytanu thumma yuhkimu Allahu ayatihi waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun
And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), before you WE have neither sent any such Rasool nor any messenger (with whom this did not happen that) when he desired, Satan intruded in his desire.  In this way whatever obstruction Satan creates, Allâh eradicates it and makes HIS Revelation firm; Allâh is Knowledgeable and All Wise. 

لِيَجْعَلَ مَا يُلْقِي الشَّيْطَانُ فِتْنَةً لِّلَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ وَالْقَاسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَإِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ لَفِي شِقَاقٍ بَعِيدٍ

53.       LiyajAAala ma yulqee alshshaytanu fitnatan lillatheena fee quloobihim maradun waalqasiyati quloobuhum wainna alththalimeena lafee shiqaqin baAAeedin
(HE let this happen) So that (HE) may make the mischief caused by Satan a trial for those people in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy and disbelief) and whose hearts are impure--the fact is that these cruel people are gone far away in an enmity.

وَلِيَعْلَمَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَيُؤْمِنُوا بِهِ فَتُخْبِتَ لَهُ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهَادِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

54.             WaliyaAAlama allatheena ootoo alAAilma annahu alhaqqu min rabbika fayuminoo bihi fatukhbita lahu quloobuhum wainna Allaha lahadi allatheena amanoo ila siratin mustaqeemin
And the knowledgeable people should know that this is truth from your Râbb and they should bring Faith in it and their hearts should submit before HIM, certainly Allâh always guides those to the right path who bring Faith. 

وَلَا يَزَالُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي مِرْيَةٍ مِّنْهُ حَتَّى تَأْتِيَهُمُ السَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَقِيمٍ

55.             Wala yazalu allatheena kafaroo fee miryatin minhu hatta tatiyahumu alssaAAatu baghtatan aw yatiyahum AAathabu yawmin AAaqeemin
Those who deny (denier of truth) will remain in doubt about it (Al-Qur'ân) until either the Hour of Doom suddenly comes on them, or the calamity of unlucky day laid open them.

الْمُلْكُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ فَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ

56.             Almulku yawmaithin lillahi yahkumu baynahum faallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati fee jannati alnnaAAeemi
On that day, Allâh will be the owner of Kingdom, and HE will give ruling between them.  Those who will have Faith and use to do righteous deeds they will enter into the blessed paradise, 

وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا فَأُوْلَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ

57.             Waallatheena kafaroo wakaththaboo biayatina faolaika lahum AAathabun muheenun
And those who will have committed infidelity (Kufr) and denied OUR Revelation (Al-Qur'ân), there will be a humiliating torment for them.  (R) 14 

وَالَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ قُتِلُوا أَوْ مَاتُوا لَيَرْزُقَنَّهُمُ اللَّهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ

58.             Waallatheena hajaroo fee sabeeli Allahi thumma qutiloo aw matoo layarzuqannahumu Allahu rizqan hasanan wainna Allaha lahuwa khayru alrraziqeena
And those people who migrated in the Path of Allâh then (they) were killed or died, Allâh will give them good provisions.  And certainly, Allâh is the Best Provider (of all).

لَيُدْخِلَنَّهُم مُّدْخَلًا يَرْضَوْنَهُ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَعَلِيمٌ حَلِيمٌ

59.             Layudkhilannahum mudkhalan yardawnahu wainna Allaha laAAaleemun haleemun
HE will send them to such a place with which they shall be delighted.  No doubt, Allâh is All-Knowing and Most Forbearing. 

ذَلِكَ وَمَنْ عَاقَبَ بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبَ بِهِ ثُمَّ بُغِيَ عَلَيْهِ لَيَنصُرَنَّهُ اللَّهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَعَفُوٌّ غَفُورٌ

60.             Thalika waman AAaqaba bimithli ma AAooqiba bihi thumma bughiya AAalayhi layansurannahu Allahu inna Allaha laAAafuwwun ghafoorun
This is their end, and whoever takes revenge, equal to the harm that had been done to him/her (tit for tat), and then has also been oppressed, then Allâh will surely help him/her.  Allâh is Oft-Pardoning and Oft-Forgiving. 

ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ يُولِجُ اللَّيْلَ فِي النَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ بَصِيرٌ

61.             Thalika bianna Allaha yooliju allayla fee alnnahari wayooliju alnnahara fee allayli waanna Allaha sameeAAun baseerun
This is because Allâh is the One WHO brings the night from the day and the day from the night and HE is All Hearing and Most Observant.

ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنَّ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ هُوَ الْبَاطِلُ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْكَبِيرُ

62.            Thalika bianna Allaha huwa alhaqqu waanna ma yadAAoona min doonihi huwa albatilu waanna Allaha huwa alAAaliyyu alkabeeru
This is because Allâh is the Truth and all those are false (Bâtil) whom these people invoke except Allâh and Allâh is the Most Superior and the Most Respectable. 

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ أَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاء مَاء فَتُصْبِحُ الْأَرْضُ مُخْضَرَّةً إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَطِيفٌ خَبِيرٌ

63.            Alam tara anna Allaha anzala mina alssamai maan fatusbihu alardu mukhdarratan inna Allaha lateefun khabeerun
Don’t you see that Allâh sends water (rain) from the sky and because of it, the land becomes green?  The truth is that HE is the Most Delicate and Well-Acquainted. 

لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهُوَ الْغَنِيُّ الْحَمِيدُ

64.             Lahu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi wainna Allaha lahuwa alghaniyyu alhameedu
Whatever is in the skies and in the earth (all that) belongs to HIM, no doubt HE is Most Generous and Praise Worthy.  (R) 15

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَالْفُلْكَ تَجْرِي فِي الْبَحْرِ بِأَمْرِهِ وَيُمْسِكُ السَّمَاء أَن تَقَعَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِالنَّاسِ لَرَؤُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ

65.            Alam tara anna Allaha sakhkhara lakum ma fee alardi waalfulka tajree fee albahri biamrihi wayumsiku alssamaa an taqaAAa AAala alardi illa biithnihi inna Allaha bialnnasi laraoofun raheemun
Don’t you see that HE (Allâh, subhaana wa ta’aala) has subjected to you all that is in the earth, and HE has made the boat to follow the course that it sails in the sea by HIS Command, and HE is holding the sky in such a way that it cannot fall down without HIS Leave?  The fact is that Allâh is very Loving and Merciful for the mankind.

وَهُوَ الَّذِي أَحْيَاكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكُمْ إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَكَفُورٌ

66.            Wahuwa allathee ahyakum thumma yumeetukum thumma yuhyeekum inna alinsana lakafoorun
HE is the One WHO has given you life, HE gives you death, and then HE will give you life again.  The truth is that mankind is a denier of reality. 

لِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ جَعَلْنَا مَنسَكًا هُمْ نَاسِكُوهُ فَلَا يُنَازِعُنَّكَ فِي الْأَمْرِ وَادْعُ إِلَى رَبِّكَ إِنَّكَ لَعَلَى هُدًى مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

67.            Likulli ommatin jaAAalna mansakan hum nasikoohu fala yunaziAAunnaka fee alamri waodAAu ila rabbika innaka laAAala hudan mustaqeemin
WE have established a way of worship for every nation, which it follows, therefore O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), they should not dispute with you in this matter.  You should invite (them) towards your Râbb.  Certainly, you are on the Straight Path.

وَإِن جَادَلُوكَ فَقُلِ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ

68.            Wain jadalooka faquli Allahu aAAlamu bima taAAmaloona
And if they argue with you then tell them, "Whatever you are doing Allâh knows it very well, 

اللَّهُ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِيمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ

69.            Allahu yahkumu baynakum yawma alqiyamati feema kuntum feehi takhtalifoona
On the Day of Judgment Allâh will pass (HIS) judgment between you about which you are disputing." 

أَلَمْ تَعْلَمْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي السَّمَاء وَالْأَرْضِ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ فِي كِتَابٍ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ

70.            Alam taAAlam anna Allaha yaAAlamu ma fee alssamai waalardi inna thalika fee kitabin inna thalika AAala Allahi yaseerun
Don’t you know that everything in the skies and the earth is in the Knowledge of Allâh?  Everything is written in the Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz).  This is not difficult at all for Allâh.

وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِ سُلْطَانًا وَمَا لَيْسَ لَهُم بِهِ عِلْمٌ وَمَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ مِن نَّصِيرٍ

71.            WayaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi ma lam yunazzil bihi sultanan wama laysa lahum bihi AAilmun wama lilththalimeena min naseerin
These people are worshiping those (deities) except Allâh for whom neither HE has sent any affirmation and nor they have any knowledge about them (those deities).  There is no helper for these cruels (Zâlimûn).

وَإِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ تَعْرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا الْمُنكَرَ يَكَادُونَ يَسْطُونَ بِالَّذِينَ يَتْلُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِنَا قُلْ أَفَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِشَرٍّ مِّن ذَلِكُمُ النَّارُ وَعَدَهَا اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ

72.            Waitha tutla AAalayhim ayatuna bayyinatin taAArifu fee wujoohi allatheena kafaroo almunkara yakadoona yastoona biallatheena yatloona AAalayhim ayatina qul afaonabbiokum bisharrin min thalikum alnnaru waAAadaha Allahu allatheena kafaroo wabisa almaseeru
And when OUR Clear Verses (Revelations) are recited to them then you see that the faces of the denial of truth start deforming, and it appears that right now they will attack on those people who recite OUR Verses (Revelations) to them.  Tell them, "May I tell you what is the worse thing than it?  (It is)  The Fire (of Hell), Allâh has promised it for those people who deny to accept the Truth, and it is the worst abiding place (destination)."  (R) 16

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ضُرِبَ مَثَلٌ فَاسْتَمِعُوا لَهُ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ لَن يَخْلُقُوا ذُبَابًا وَلَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا لَهُ وَإِن يَسْلُبْهُمُ الذُّبَابُ شَيْئًا لَّا يَسْتَنقِذُوهُ مِنْهُ ضَعُفَ الطَّالِبُ وَالْمَطْلُوبُ

73.             Ya ayyuha alnnasu duriba mathalun faistamiAAoo lahu inna allatheena tadAAoona min dooni Allahi lan yakhluqoo thubaban walawi ijtamaAAoo lahu wain yaslubuhumu alththubabu shayan la yastanqithoohu minhu daAAufa alttalibu waalmatloobu
O people, an example is given, listen carefully.  Those deities whom you call except Allâh if they collectively want to create a fly they cannot (do so--create it).  Even if a fly snatches away anything from them, then they cannot get it back.  The seekers of help are weak and from whom the help is pursued, they are also weak (feeble are the petitioners and powerless are those whom they petition). 

مَا قَدَرُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَقَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٌ

74.            Ma qadaroo Allaha haqqa qadrihi inna Allaha laqawiyyun AAazeezun
These people have not recognized the Excellence of Allâh as it has the right to be recognized.  The fact is that Allâh Alone is Omnipotent and Honorable. 

اللَّهُ يَصْطَفِي مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ رُسُلًا وَمِنَ النَّاسِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ بَصِيرٌ

75.            Allahu yastafee mina almalaikati rusulan wamina alnnasi inna Allaha sameeAAun baseerun
The truth is that Allâh also chooses HIS messengers (to deliver HIS message) from among the angels and as well as from the human beings.  Allâh is All-Hearer and Observant,

يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ الأمُورُ

76.            YaAAlamu ma bayna aydeehim wama khalfahum waila Allahi turjaAAu alomooru
HE knows whatever is in front of the people as well as whatever is hidden from them, and all affairs are presented before Allâh

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ارْكَعُوا وَاسْجُدُوا وَاعْبُدُوا رَبَّكُمْ وَافْعَلُوا الْخَيْرَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ(Al- Sajjdah)

77.            Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo irkaAAoo waosjudoo waoAAbudoo rabbakum waifAAaloo alkhayra laAAallakum tuflihoona
O people who have brought Faith, bow down, and prostrate yourselves, serve your Râbb, and do righteous deeds; from it is expected that you may attain success

وَجَاهِدُوا فِي اللَّهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِ هُوَ اجْتَبَاكُمْ وَمَا جَعَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ مِنْ حَرَجٍ مِّلَّةَ أَبِيكُمْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ هُوَ سَمَّاكُمُ الْمُسْلِمينَ مِن قَبْلُ وَفِي هَذَا لِيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ شَهِيدًا عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا شُهَدَاء عَلَى النَّاسِ فَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِاللَّهِ هُوَ مَوْلَاكُمْ فَنِعْمَ الْمَوْلَى وَنِعْمَ النَّصِيرُ

78.            Wajahidoo fee Allahi haqqa jihadihi huwa ijtabakum wama jaAAala AAalaykum fee alddeeni min harajin millata abeekum ibraheema huwa sammakumu almuslimeena min qablu wafee hatha liyakoona alrrasoolu shaheedan AAalaykum watakoonoo shuhadaa AAala alnnasi faaqeemoo alssalata waatoo alzzakata waiAAtasimoo biAllahi huwa mawlakum faniAAma almawla waniAAma alnnaseeru
Strive hard or fight (Crusade, do Jihad) in the Path of Allâh as one must strive for it.  HE has chosen you for HIS work and has not kept any hardship in Deen (Islam, the way of life) for you.  Be firm on the Nation (Faith) of your father Ibrâhim.  Allâh has named you “Muslims” before and as well as in this (Al-Qur'ân, you have the same name).  So that the Rasool (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) may be a witness over you and you be witnesses over mankind.  Therefore establish prayer (Salât), pay the poor-dues (Zakât), and bound your-selves to Allâh.  HE is your Patron (Maulâ) HE is an Excellent Patron (Maulâ) and HE is an Excellent Helper.  (R) 17
