بِسْمِ
اللّهِ
الرَّحْمـَنِ
الرَّحِيمِ
Bismi
Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful
سُبْحَانَ
الَّذِي
أَسْرَى
بِعَبْدِهِ
لَيْلاً
مِّنَ
الْمَسْجِدِ
الْحَرَامِ
إِلَى
الْمَسْجِدِ
الأَقْصَى
الَّذِي بَارَكْنَا
حَوْلَهُ
لِنُرِيَهُ
مِنْ آيَاتِنَا
إِنَّهُ هُوَ
السَّمِيعُ
البَصِيرُ
1. Subhana
allathee asra biAAabdihi laylan mina almasjidi alharami ila almasjidi alaqsa
allathee barakna hawlahu linuriyahu min ayatina innahu huwa alssameeAAu
albaseeru
Pure is HE WHO one night took HIS devotee (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) from Masjid-al-Harâm (in Makkah)
to the farthest Masjid (Muslims place of worship in Jerusalem) whose
surroundings HE has blessed -- so that to show him some of HIS Signs
(Ayât). In fact HE is the One WHO hears
and sees everything.
وَآتَيْنَا
مُوسَى
الْكِتَابَ
وَجَعَلْنَاهُ
هُدًى
لِّبَنِي
إِسْرَائِيلَ
أَلاَّ تَتَّخِذُواْ
مِن دُونِي
وَكِيلاً
2. Waatayna
moosa alkitaba wajaAAalnahu hudan libanee israeela alla tattakhithoo min doonee
wakeelan
Before this WE had given a Book to Mûsa and made it a
source of guidance for the Children of Isrâil with this command (saying):
"Except ME do not take anyone as a protector (Wakîl).
ذُرِّيَّةَ
مَنْ
حَمَلْنَا
مَعَ نُوحٍ
إِنَّهُ
كَانَ
عَبْدًا
شَكُورًا
3. Thurriyyata
man hamalna maAAa noohin innahu kana AAabdan shakooran
You are offspring of those people whom WE rode in the
boat with Nûh, and Nûh was a grateful servant.
وَقَضَيْنَا
إِلَى بَنِي
إِسْرَائِيلَ
فِي
الْكِتَابِ
لَتُفْسِدُنَّ
فِي الأَرْضِ مَرَّتَيْنِ
وَلَتَعْلُنَّ
عُلُوًّا كَبِيرًا
4. Waqadayna
ila banee israeela fee alkitabi latufsidunna fee alardi marratayni
walataAAlunna AAuluwwan kabeeran
Then in OUR Book WE warned the Children of Isrâil on this thing that you will
spread big mischief on the earth twice and will show great rebellion.
فَإِذَا
جَاء وَعْدُ
أُولاهُمَا
بَعَثْنَا
عَلَيْكُمْ
عِبَادًا
لَّنَا
أُوْلِي بَأْسٍ
شَدِيدٍ
فَجَاسُواْ
خِلاَلَ الدِّيَارِ
وَكَانَ
وَعْدًا
مَّفْعُولاً
5. Faitha
jaa waAAdu oolahuma baAAathna AAalaykum AAibadan lana olee basin shadeedin
fajasoo khilala alddiyari wakana waAAdan mafAAoolan
Finally when the occasion of first revolt came among them, then O Children of
Isrâil, WE raised against you OUR such servants who were very strong and they
spread all over by entering into your country.
It was a promise, which had to be fulfilled.
ثُمَّ
رَدَدْنَا
لَكُمُ
الْكَرَّةَ
عَلَيْهِمْ
وَأَمْدَدْنَاكُم
بِأَمْوَالٍ
وَبَنِينَ
وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ
أَكْثَرَ
نَفِيرًا
6. Thumma
radadna lakumu alkarrata AAalayhim waamdadnakum biamwalin wabaneena
wajaAAalnakum akthara nafeeran
After this WE gave you a chance to subdue them and
helped you with wealth and children and increased your numbers than before.
إِنْ
أَحْسَنتُمْ
أَحْسَنتُمْ
لِأَنفُسِكُمْ
وَإِنْ
أَسَأْتُمْ
فَلَهَا
فَإِذَا جَاء
وَعْدُ
الآخِرَةِ
لِيَسُوؤُواْ
وُجُوهَكُمْ
وَلِيَدْخُلُواْ
الْمَسْجِدَ
كَمَا
دَخَلُوهُ
أَوَّلَ
مَرَّةٍ
وَلِيُتَبِّرُواْ
مَا عَلَوْاْ
تَتْبِيرًا
7. In
ahsantum ahsantum lianfusikum wain asatum falaha faitha jaa waAAdu alakhirati liyasoooo
wujoohakum waliyadkhuloo almasjida kama
dakhaloohu awwala marratin waliyutabbiroo ma AAalaw tatbeeran
Look! If you did well -- it is good for yourselves, and if you committed an
evil it proved to be an evil for your own-selves. So when the time of second promise came then
WE imposed other enemies on you -- so that they deface your faces and enter the
Masjid (of Jerusalem) in the same way as previous enemies had entered and
destroyed all that whatever came into their reach --
عَسَى
رَبُّكُمْ
أَن يَرْحَمَكُمْ
وَإِنْ
عُدتُّمْ
عُدْنَا وَجَعَلْنَا
جَهَنَّمَ
لِلْكَافِرِينَ
حَصِيرًا
8. AAasa
rabbukum an yarhamakum wain AAudtum AAudna wajaAAalna
jahannama lilkafireena haseeran
It may be that now your Râbb may show mercy to you, but if you repeat your
previous conduct then WE shall also repeat OUR punishment, and WE have made
Hell a prison for those people who deny our favor.
إِنَّ
هَـذَا
الْقُرْآنَ
يِهْدِي
لِلَّتِي
هِيَ
أَقْوَمُ
وَيُبَشِّرُ
الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
الَّذِينَ
يَعْمَلُونَ
الصَّالِحَاتِ
أَنَّ لَهُمْ
أَجْرًا
كَبِيرًا
9. Inna
hatha alqurana yahdee lillatee hiya aqwamu wayubashshiru almumineena allatheena
yaAAmaloona alssalihati anna lahum ajran kabeeran
The fact is that Al-Qur'ân shows that path -- which is very straight. It gives
glad tidings to those people who believe in it and do righteous deeds that
there is a great reward for them
وأَنَّ
الَّذِينَ
لاَ
يُؤْمِنُونَ
بِالآخِرَةِ
أَعْتَدْنَا
لَهُمْ عَذَابًا
أَلِيمًا
10. Waanna
allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati aAAtadna lahum AAathaban aleeman
And those people who do not believe in the Hereafter it gives them the news
that WE have prepared painful torment for them. (R) 1
وَيَدْعُ
الإِنسَانُ بِالشَّرِّ
دُعَاءهُ
بِالْخَيْرِ
وَكَانَ
الإِنسَانُ
عَجُولاً
11. WayadAAu alinsanu bialshsharri duAAaahu bialkhayri wakana
alinsanu AAajoolan
Mankind asks for an evil as righteousness should be asked. Human happened to be very hasty.
وَجَعَلْنَا
اللَّيْلَ
وَالنَّهَارَ
آيَتَيْنِ
فَمَحَوْنَا
آيَةَ
اللَّيْلِ
وَجَعَلْنَا
آيَةَ
النَّهَارِ
مُبْصِرَةً
لِتَبْتَغُواْ
فَضْلاً مِّن
رَّبِّكُمْ
وَلِتَعْلَمُواْ
عَدَدَ
السِّنِينَ
وَالْحِسَابَ
وَكُلَّ
شَيْءٍ
فَصَّلْنَاهُ
تَفْصِيلاً
12. WajaAAalna
allayla waalnnahara ayatayni famahawna ayata allayli wajaAAalna ayata alnnahari
mubsiratan litabtaghoo fadlan min rabbikum walitaAAlamoo AAadada alssineena
waalhisaba wakulla shayin fassalnahu tafseelan
Look! WE have made the night and the day as two signs (Ayât). WE made the sign of night without light, and
gave the light to the sign of day -- so that you can seek the bounty of your
Râbb and may calculate the counts of years and the months. The same way WE have
well-defined everything separately.
وَكُلَّ
إِنسَانٍ
أَلْزَمْنَاهُ
طَآئِرَهُ
فِي عُنُقِهِ
وَنُخْرِجُ
لَهُ يَوْمَ
الْقِيَامَةِ
كِتَابًا
يَلْقَاهُ
مَنشُورًا
13. Wakulla insanin alzamnahu tairahu fee AAunuqihi wanukhriju
lahu yawma alqiyamati kitaban yalqahu manshooran
WE have fastened the omen (fortune) of every person to his/her own
neck, and on the Day of Judgment WE shall bring out a draft for him/her, which
he/she will find like an open book--
اقْرَأْ
كَتَابَكَ
كَفَى
بِنَفْسِكَ
الْيَوْمَ
عَلَيْكَ
حَسِيبًا
14. Iqra
kitabaka kafa binafsika alyawma AAalayka haseeban
Read a book of your own deeds, today you are competent to take your own
accounts.
مَّنِ
اهْتَدَى
فَإِنَّمَا
يَهْتَدي
لِنَفْسِهِ
وَمَن ضَلَّ
فَإِنَّمَا
يَضِلُّ عَلَيْهَا
وَلاَ تَزِرُ
وَازِرَةٌ
وِزْرَ أُخْرَى
وَمَا كُنَّا مُعَذِّبِينَ
حَتَّى
نَبْعَثَ
رَسُولاً
15.
Mani ihtada fainnama yahtadee linafsihi waman dalla fainnama yadillu
AAalayha wala taziru waziratun wizra okhra wama kunna muAAaththibeena hatta
nabAAatha rasoolan
Whosoever adopts the righteous path; his/her righteousness is beneficial for
him/her own-self, and whoever goes astray the burden of his/her deviation
(going astray) is on himself/herself. No
carrier of burden will carry the burden of another (person). And WE do not punish until WE send a Messenger
(to make the people understand the difference of Truth and falsehood).
وَإِذَا
أَرَدْنَا
أَن
نُّهْلِكَ
قَرْيَةً
أَمَرْنَا
مُتْرَفِيهَا
فَفَسَقُواْ
فِيهَا
فَحَقَّ
عَلَيْهَا
الْقَوْلُ
فَدَمَّرْنَاهَا
تَدْمِيرًا
16. Waitha
aradna an nuhlika qaryatan amarna mutrafeeha fafasaqoo feeha fahaqqa AAalayha
alqawlu fadammarnaha tadmeeran
When WE decide to destroy any town then WE Command the prosper people of that
town and they start disobeying, then the verdict of punishment is imposed on
that town and WE destroy it completely.
وَكَمْ
أَهْلَكْنَا
مِنَ
الْقُرُونِ
مِن بَعْدِ
نُوحٍ
وَكَفَى
بِرَبِّكَ
بِذُنُوبِ عِبَادِهِ
خَبِيرًَا
بَصِيرًا
17. Wakam
ahlakna mina alqurooni min baAAdi noohin wakafa birabbika bithunoobi AAibadihi
khabeeran baseeran
Look! How many generations have been destroyed by OUR Command after Nûh! Your Râbb is well aware of the sins of HIS
salves and is seeing everything.
مَّن
كَانَ
يُرِيدُ
الْعَاجِلَةَ
عَجَّلْنَا
لَهُ فِيهَا
مَا نَشَاء
لِمَن
نُّرِيدُ ثُمَّ
جَعَلْنَا لَهُ
جَهَنَّمَ
يَصْلاهَا مَذْمُومًا
مَّدْحُورًا
18. Man
kana yureedu alAAajilata AAajjalna lahu feeha ma nashao liman nureedu thumma
jaAAalna lahu jahannama yaslaha mathmooman madhooran
Whosoever desires for the immediate achievable gains (in this world), WE freely
give him/her whatever WE want to give whomsoever, then WE stamped hell in
his/her destiny in which he/she will be burned being humiliated and deprived
from the blessings.
وَمَنْ
أَرَادَ
الآخِرَةَ
وَسَعَى
لَهَا سَعْيَهَا
وَهُوَ
مُؤْمِنٌ فَأُولَئِكَ
كَانَ
سَعْيُهُم
مَّشْكُورًا
19. Waman
arada alakhirata wasaAAa laha saAAyaha wahuwa muminun faolaika kana saAAyuhum
mashkooran
And whoever desires the (life of) Hereafter and strives hard for it as it
deserves to be striven hard, and he/she must be a believer, then the struggle
of every such person shall be accepted.
كُلاًّ
نُّمِدُّ
هَـؤُلاء
وَهَـؤُلاء
مِنْ عَطَاء
رَبِّكَ
وَمَا كَانَ
عَطَاء رَبِّكَ
مَحْظُورًا
20. Kullan
numiddu haolai wahaolai min AAatai rabbika wama kana AAatao rabbika mahthooran
WE are giving the provisions of life (in this world) to both, to these as well
as to those groups, this is a gift of your Râbb, and there is none who can stop
the favor of your Râbb.
انظُرْ
كَيْفَ
فَضَّلْنَا
بَعْضَهُمْ
عَلَى بَعْضٍ
وَلَلآخِرَةُ
أَكْبَرُ
دَرَجَاتٍ
وَأَكْبَرُ
تَفْضِيلاً
21. Onthur
kayfa faddalna baAAdahum AAala baAAdin walalakhiratu akbaru darajatin waakbaru
tafdeelan
But see WE have given preference to one group above another in this world, and
in the Hereafter his/her rank will be higher, and his/her value will be a lot
more.
لاَّ
تَجْعَل مَعَ
اللّهِ
إِلَـهًا
آخَرَ فَتَقْعُدَ
مَذْمُومًا
مَّخْذُولاً
22. La
tajAAal maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara fataqAAuda mathmooman makhthoolan
You should not take any other deities (ilâhan) with Allâh otherwise (you) will keep sitting blamed and helpless. (R) 2
وَقَضَى
رَبُّكَ
أَلاَّ
تَعْبُدُواْ
إِلاَّ
إِيَّاهُ
وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ
إِحْسَانًا
إِمَّا
يَبْلُغَنَّ
عِندَكَ
الْكِبَرَ
أَحَدُهُمَا أَوْ
كِلاَهُمَا
فَلاَ تَقُل
لَّهُمَآ
أُفٍّ وَلاَ
تَنْهَرْهُمَا
وَقُل
لَّهُمَا
قَوْلاً كَرِيمًا
23. Waqada rabbuka alla taAAbudoo illa iyyahu wabialwalidayni
ihsanan imma yablughanna AAindaka alkibara ahaduhuma aw kilahuma fala taqul lahuma
offin wala tanharhuma waqul lahuma qawlan kareeman
Your Râbb has given the Decision that: "You people should not
worship anyone, but HIM Alone. Treat your parents with kindness, if one or both
of them are with you in their old age then do not even say any word of rudeness to them, nor shout at
them in reply, but address them with full respect,
وَاخْفِضْ
لَهُمَا
جَنَاحَ
الذُّلِّ
مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ
وَقُل رَّبِّ
ارْحَمْهُمَا
كَمَا
رَبَّيَانِي
صَغِيرًا
24. Waikhfid lahuma janaha alththulli mina alrrahmati waqul
rabbi irhamhuma kama rabbayanee sagheeran
And remain submissive before them (your parents) with humbleness and mercy, and
pray: "O Râbb, bestow mercy on them (my parents) the same way as they (my parents) brought me up
with kindness and love when I was a child."
رَّبُّكُمْ
أَعْلَمُ
بِمَا فِي
نُفُوسِكُمْ
إِن تَكُونُواْ
صَالِحِينَ
فَإِنَّهُ
كَانَ
لِلأَوَّابِينَ
غَفُورًا
25. Rabbukum aAAlamu bima fee nufoosikum in takoonoo saliheena
fainnahu kana lilawwabeena ghafooran
Your Râbb knows best what is in your hearts.
If you live righteous life then HE is Most Forgiving for all such people
who return (in repentance) to the submission after realizing their mistakes.
وَآتِ ذَا
الْقُرْبَى
حَقَّهُ
وَالْمِسْكِينَ
وَابْنَ
السَّبِيلِ
وَلاَ
تُبَذِّرْ تَبْذِيرًا
26. Waati
tha alqurba haqqahu waalmiskeena waibna alssabeeli wala tubaththir tabtheeran
Give the right to the relative and the poor (Miskîn) and the traveler their
rights. Do not spend wastefully.
إِنَّ
الْمُبَذِّرِينَ
كَانُواْ
إِخْوَانَ
الشَّيَاطِينِ
وَكَانَ الشَّيْطَانُ
لِرَبِّهِ
كَفُورًا
27. Inna
almubaththireena kanoo ikhwana alshshayateeni wakana alshshaytanu lirabbihi
kafooran
The spendthrifts are the brothers of Shaitan, and
Shaitân is ungrateful to his Râbb.
وَإِمَّا
تُعْرِضَنَّ
عَنْهُمُ ابْتِغَاء
رَحْمَةٍ
مِّن
رَّبِّكَ
تَرْجُوهَا
فَقُل
لَّهُمْ
قَوْلاً
مَّيْسُورًا
28. Waimma
tuAAridanna AAanhumu ibtighaa rahmatin min rabbika tarjooha faqul lahum qawlan
maysooran
If you have to turn away from them (means from needy relatives, poor and
travelers), because you are still seeking the blessing of Allâh about which you are hopeful, then turn
away with kindness.
وَلاَ
تَجْعَلْ
يَدَكَ
مَغْلُولَةً
إِلَى عُنُقِكَ
وَلاَ
تَبْسُطْهَا
كُلَّ الْبَسْطِ
فَتَقْعُدَ
مَلُومًا
مَّحْسُورًا
29. Wala tajAAal yadaka maghloolatan ila
AAunuqika wala tabsutha kulla albasti fataqAAuda malooman mahsooran
Neither tie your hand to the neck and nor widen it so much that you become
humiliated and distressed.
إِنَّ
رَبَّكَ
يَبْسُطُ
الرِّزْقَ
لِمَن يَشَاء
وَيَقْدِرُ
إِنَّهُ
كَانَ
بِعِبَادِهِ
خَبِيرًا
بَصِيرًا
30. Inna rabbaka yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao wayaqdiru innahu
kana biAAibadihi khabeeran baseeran
Your Râbb extents the provisions for whom HE wills and restricts for whom HE
wills. HE is well aware of the condition
of HIS servants and is watching over them. (R)

وَلاَ
تَقْتُلُواْ
أَوْلادَكُمْ
خَشْيَةَ
إِمْلاقٍ
نَّحْنُ
نَرْزُقُهُمْ
وَإِيَّاكُم
إنَّ
قَتْلَهُمْ
كَانَ
خِطْءًا
كَبِيرًا
31. Wala taqtuloo awladakum khashyata imlaqin nahnu narzuquhum
waiyyakum inna qatlahum kana khitan kabeeran
Do not kill your
children with the fear of poverty. WE
will give them the provisions as well as you.
In fact their killing is a great sin.
وَلاَ
تَقْرَبُواْ
الزِّنَى
إِنَّهُ كَانَ
فَاحِشَةً
وَسَاء
سَبِيلاً
32. Wala taqraboo alzzina innahu kana fahishatan wasaa sabeelan
Do not even go
near to the adultery (extramarital affairs).
It is a heinous act (Fâhisha) and an inhuman way.
وَلاَ
تَقْتُلُواْ
النَّفْسَ
الَّتِي حَرَّمَ
اللّهُ
إِلاَّ
بِالحَقِّ
وَمَن قُتِلَ
مَظْلُومًا
فَقَدْ
جَعَلْنَا
لِوَلِيِّهِ سُلْطَانًا
فَلاَ
يُسْرِف فِّي
الْقَتْلِ إِنَّهُ
كَانَ
مَنْصُورًا
33. Wala taqtuloo alnnafsa allatee harrama Allahu illa
bialhaqqi waman qutila mathlooman faqad jaAAalna liwaliyyihi sultanan fala
yusrif fee alqatli innahu kana mansooran
Do not kill any soul whom Allâh has prohibited but with truth. And whoever has been being killed with
cruelty, WE have given the right to his/her heirs to demand retribution
(Qisâs), but (they) should not exceed the limits in taking life, he/she will be
helped.
وَلاَ
تَقْرَبُواْ
مَالَ
الْيَتِيمِ
إِلاَّ
بِالَّتِي
هِيَ
أَحْسَنُ
حَتَّى
يَبْلُغَ
أَشُدَّهُ
وَأَوْفُواْ
بِالْعَهْدِ
إِنَّ
الْعَهْدَ كَانَ
مَسْؤُولاً
34. Wala taqraboo mala alyateemi illa biallatee hiya ahsanu
hatta yablugha ashuddahu waawfoo bialAAahdi inna alAAahda kana masoolan
Do not go near the orphan's property but with a best intention, until he/she
reaches the prime of his/her life. Abide
by your promises, no doubt you will be held accountable for your promises.
وَأَوْفُوا
الْكَيْلَ
إِذا
كِلْتُمْ
وَزِنُواْ
بِالقِسْطَاسِ
الْمُسْتَقِيمِ
ذَلِكَ
خَيْرٌ
وَأَحْسَنُ
تَأْوِيلاً
35. Waawfoo
alkayla itha kiltum wazinoo bialqistasi almustaqeemi thalika khayrun waahsanu
taweelan
When you measure -- give full measure, and when (you) weigh with a scale weigh
it with correct scale. This is a better
way and as a result it is the best.
وَلاَ
تَقْفُ مَا
لَيْسَ لَكَ
بِهِ عِلْمٌ
إِنَّ السَّمْعَ
وَالْبَصَرَ
وَالْفُؤَادَ
كُلُّ أُولـئِكَ
كَانَ عَنْهُ مَسْؤُولاً
36. Wala taqfu ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun inna alssamAAa
waalbasara waalfuada kullu olaika kana AAanhu masoolan
Do not follow any such thing of which you have no knowledge. Certainly, eyes, ears and heart all will be
held accountable.
وَلاَ
تَمْشِ فِي
الأَرْضِ
مَرَحًا
إِنَّكَ لَن
تَخْرِقَ
الأَرْضَ
وَلَن
تَبْلُغَ الْجِبَالَ
طُولاً
37. Wala tamshi fee alardi marahan innaka lan
takhriqa alarda walan tablugha aljibala toolan
Do not walk on
the earth in arrogance, you can neither split the earth nor attain the height
of the mountains.
كُلُّ
ذَلِكَ كَانَ
سَيٍّئُهُ
عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ
مَكْرُوهًا
38. Kullu
thalika kana sayyiohu AAinda rabbika makroohan
The bad aspect of each thing from among these things
is hateful in the sight of your Râbb.
ذَلِكَ
مِمَّا
أَوْحَى
إِلَيْكَ
رَبُّكَ مِنَ
الْحِكْمَةِ
وَلاَ
تَجْعَلْ
مَعَ اللّهِ
إِلَهًا
آخَرَ
فَتُلْقَى
فِي
جَهَنَّمَ مَلُومًا
مَّدْحُورًا
39. Thalika
mimma awha ilayka rabbuka mina alhikmati wala tajAAal maAAa Allahi ilahan
akhara fatulqa fee jahannama malooman madhooran
These are the things of Wisdom (Al-Hikmah), which your Râbb has revealed to you.
And see! Do not take any other deities (ilâhan) with Allâh otherwise you
will be thrown into Hell with humiliation and deprived-of every virtue--
أَفَأَصْفَاكُمْ
رَبُّكُم
بِالْبَنِينَ
وَاتَّخَذَ
مِنَ
الْمَلآئِكَةِ
إِنَاثًا إِنَّكُمْ
لَتَقُولُونَ
قَوْلاً
عَظِيمًا
40. Afaasfakum
rabbukum bialbaneena waittakhatha mina almalaikati inathan innakum lataqooloona
qawlan AAatheeman
What a strange thing (is this) that your Râbb has blessed you with sons and for
HIM has taken angels as daughters? It is
a big lie that you utter from your tongues. (R) 4
وَلَقَدْ
صَرَّفْنَا
فِي هَـذَا
الْقُرْآنِ
لِيَذَّكَّرُواْ
وَمَا
يَزِيدُهُمْ
إِلاَّ
نُفُورًا
41. Walaqad
sarrafna fee hatha alqurani liyaththakkaroo wama yazeeduhum illa nufooran
WE have advised the people in different ways in this Qur'ân
that come into senses, but they are going further away from the truth.
قُل لَّوْ
كَانَ مَعَهُ
آلِهَةٌ
كَمَا يَقُولُونَ
إِذًا
لاَّبْتَغَوْاْ
إِلَى ذِي الْعَرْشِ
سَبِيلاً
42. Qul
law kana maAAahu alihatun kama yaqooloona ithan laibtaghaw ila thee alAAarshi
sabeelan
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi
wa sallam), ask them: "If there had been other deities (ilâhan) along
with Allâh as these people say, then they must have tried to reach the position
of the Owner of the Throne.
سُبْحَانَهُ
وَتَعَالَى
عَمَّا
يَقُولُونَ
عُلُوًّا
كَبِيرًا
43. Subhanahu
wataAAala AAamma yaqooloona AAuluwwan kabeeran
Pure is HE and is exalted far above from those things ('Uluwan Kabîra), which
these people are saying.
تُسَبِّحُ
لَهُ
السَّمَاوَاتُ
السَّبْعُ
وَالأَرْضُ
وَمَن
فِيهِنَّ
وَإِن مِّن
شَيْءٍ
إِلاَّ يُسَبِّحُ
بِحَمْدَهِ وَلَـكِن
لاَّ
تَفْقَهُونَ
تَسْبِيحَهُمْ
إِنَّهُ
كَانَ
حَلِيمًا
غَفُورًا
44. Tusabbihu
lahu alssamawatu alssabAAu waalardu waman feehinna wain min shayin illa
yusabbihu bihamdihi walakin la tafqahoona tasbeehahum innahu kana haleeman
ghafooran
All that which is in the seven skies and in the earth is Glorifying about HIS
Pureness. There is not a single such
thing which is not hymning for HIM with HIS Praise, but you do not understand
their glorifying. The fact is that HE is
Forbearing and Oft Forgiving.
وَإِذَا
قَرَأْتَ
الْقُرآنَ
جَعَلْنَا بَيْنَكَ
وَبَيْنَ
الَّذِينَ
لاَ
يُؤْمِنُونَ
بِالآخِرَةِ
حِجَابًا
مَّسْتُورًا
45. Waitha
qarata alqurana jaAAalna baynaka wabayna allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati
hijaban mastooran
When you recite Al-Qur'ân WE put a screen (covering) between you and those who
do not believe in the Hereafter,
وَجَعَلْنَا
عَلَى
قُلُوبِهِمْ
أَكِنَّةً
أَن
يَفْقَهُوهُ
وَفِي
آذَانِهِمْ
وَقْرًا
وَإِذَا
ذَكَرْتَ رَبَّكَ
فِي
الْقُرْآنِ وَحْدَهُ
وَلَّوْاْ
عَلَى
أَدْبَارِهِمْ
نُفُورًا
46. WajaAAalna
AAala quloobihim akinnatan an yafqahoohu wafee athanihim waqran waitha thakarta
rabbaka fee alqurani wahdahu wallaw AAala adbarihim nufooran
And WE put such coverings over their hearts that they do not understand
anything, and cause deafness in their ears.
And when in Al-Qur'ân you mention the Oneness
of your Râbb (Lâ ilâha ill-Allâh) then they turn their faces in hatred.
نَّحْنُ
أَعْلَمُ
بِمَا
يَسْتَمِعُونَ
بِهِ إِذْ
يَسْتَمِعُونَ
إِلَيْكَ
وَإِذْ هُمْ
نَجْوَى إِذْ
يَقُولُ
الظَّالِمُونَ
إِن تَتَّبِعُونَ
إِلاَّ
رَجُلاً
مَّسْحُورًا
47. Nahnu
aAAlamu bima yastamiAAoona bihi ith yastamiAAoona ilayka waith hum najwa ith
yaqoolu alththalimoona in tattabiAAoona illa rajulan mashooran
WE know that when they carefully listen your word in fact what they really hear
and what they say when they whisper together in secret. These cruels (Zâlimûn) say to one another:
"The person whom you are following is under a magic spell."
انظُرْ
كَيْفَ
ضَرَبُواْ
لَكَ
الأَمْثَالَ
فَضَلُّواْ
فَلاَ
يَسْتَطِيعْونَ
سَبِيلاً
48. Onthur
kayfa daraboo laka alamthala fadalloo fala yastateeAAoona sabeelan
Look! What sort of lies these people put on you they have gone astray, they cannot
find the way-out.
وَقَالُواْ
أَئِذَا
كُنَّا
عِظَامًا
وَرُفَاتًا
أَإِنَّا
لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
خَلْقًا جَدِيدًا
49. Waqaloo
aitha kunna AAithaman warufatan ainna lamabAAoothoona khalqan jadeedan
They say: "When we will become bones and dust
then will we be created again from the beginning and be raised into life?"
--
قُل
كُونُواْ
حِجَارَةً
أَوْ
حَدِيدًا
50. Qul
koonoo hijaratan aw hadeedan
Tell them: "Whether you become stone or Iron,
أَوْ
خَلْقًا
مِّمَّا
يَكْبُرُ فِي
صُدُورِكُمْ
فَسَيَقُولُونَ
مَن
يُعِيدُنَا
قُلِ الَّذِي
فَطَرَكُمْ
أَوَّلَ
مَرَّةٍ فَسَيُنْغِضُونَ
إِلَيْكَ
رُؤُوسَهُمْ
وَيَقُولُونَ
مَتَى هُوَ
قُلْ عَسَى
أَن يَكُونَ
قَرِيبًا
51. Aw
khalqan mimma yakburu fee sudoorikum fasayaqooloona man yuAAeeduna quli
allathee fatarakum awwala marratin fasayunghidoona ilayka ruoosahum
wayaqooloona mata huwa qul AAasa an yakoona qareeban
"Or something harder than it which is beyond your imagination to be
brought to life (even then you will be raised to life)." They will certainly ask: "WHO is HE, who
will bring us back to life?" In
response say: "The One WHO created you first time." They will ask by shaking their heads:
"Well, then when it will happen?"
You (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi
wa sallam) say: "No surprise that time may have come near."
يَوْمَ
يَدْعُوكُمْ
فَتَسْتَجِيبُونَ
بِحَمْدِهِ
وَتَظُنُّونَ
إِن
لَّبِثْتُمْ
إِلاَّ
قَلِيلاً
52. Yawma
yadAAookum fatastajeeboona bihamdihi watathunnoona in labithtum illa qaleelan
The Day when HE will call you then you will come out praising HIM in response
to HIS Call and at that time you will think that you have been in that state
for a little while. (R) 5
وَقُل
لِّعِبَادِي
يَقُولُواْ
الَّتِي هِيَ
أَحْسَنُ
إِنَّ
الشَّيْطَانَ
يَنزَغُ بَيْنَهُمْ
إِنَّ
الشَّيْطَانَ
كَانَ لِلإِنْسَانِ
عَدُوًّا
مُّبِينًا
53. Waqul
liAAibadee yaqooloo allatee hiya ahsanu inna alshshaytana yanzaghu baynahum
inna alshshaytana kana lilinsani AAaduwwan mubeenan
And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu
‘alayhi wa sallam), tell MY servants (i.e. the believer servants) that they
should say only those words, which are the best. In fact it is a Shaitân who try to provoke
conflict among the mankind. The Truth is
that Shaitân (Satan) is an open enemy to mankind.
رَّبُّكُمْ
أَعْلَمُ
بِكُمْ إِن
يَشَأْ يَرْحَمْكُمْ
أَوْ إِن
يَشَأْ
يُعَذِّبْكُمْ
وَمَا
أَرْسَلْنَاكَ
عَلَيْهِمْ
وَكِيلاً
54. Rabbukum
aAAlamu bikum in yasha yarhamkum aw in yasha yuAAaththibkum wama arsalnaka
AAalayhim wakeelan
Your Râbb is well aware of your condition.
If HE wants HE may be merciful to you and if HE wants HE may punish
you. And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) WE have not sent you as a guardian
over the people.
وَرَبُّكَ
أَعْلَمُ
بِمَن فِي
السَّمَاوَاتِ
وَالأَرْضِ
وَلَقَدْ
فَضَّلْنَا
بَعْضَ
النَّبِيِّينَ
عَلَى بَعْضٍ وَآتَيْنَا
دَاوُودَ
زَبُورًا
55.
Warabbuka aAAlamu biman fee alssamawati waalardi walaqad faddalna
baAAda alnnabiyyeena AAala baAAdin waatayna dawooda zabooran
Your Râbb knows best (about) all the creatures of the skies and the earth. WE gave higher ranks to some Prophets above
the others, and WE had given Zabûr (Psalms) to Dawûd.
قُلِ
ادْعُواْ
الَّذِينَ
زَعَمْتُم
مِّن دُونِهِ
فَلاَ يَمْلِكُونَ
كَشْفَ
الضُّرِّ
عَنكُمْ
وَلاَ تَحْوِيلاً
56. Quli odAAu allatheena zaAAamtum min doonihi fala yamlikoona
kashfa alddurri AAankum wala tahweelan
Tell them: "Try to call those deities whom you consider (your gods) except
Allâh, they can neither remove any
adversity from you nor can shift it."
أُولَـئِكَ
الَّذِينَ
يَدْعُونَ
يَبْتَغُونَ
إِلَى
رَبِّهِمُ
الْوَسِيلَةَ
أَيُّهُمْ
أَقْرَبُ
وَيَرْجُونَ
رَحْمَتَهُ وَيَخَافُونَ
عَذَابَهُ
إِنَّ
عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ
كَانَ
مَحْذُورًا
57. Olaika
allatheena yadAAoona yabtaghoona ila rabbihimu alwaseelata ayyuhum aqrabu
wayarjoona rahmatahu wayakhafoona AAathabahu inna AAathaba rabbika kana
mahthooran
Whom these people invoke they themselves are seeking means of nearness to their
Râbb that who can come closer to HIM and they are hoping for HIS Mercy and
fearful of HIS Punishment. The fact is
that the torment of your Râbb is a thing to be afraid.
وَإِن
مَّن
قَرْيَةٍ
إِلاَّ
نَحْنُ
مُهْلِكُوهَا
قَبْلَ
يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ
أَوْ
مُعَذِّبُوهَا
عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا
كَانَ ذَلِك فِي
الْكِتَابِ
مَسْطُورًا
58.
Wain min
qaryatin illa nahnu muhlikooha qabla yawmi alqiyamati aw muAAaththibooha
AAathaban shadeedan kana thalika fee alkitabi mastooran
And there is not a single such town, which WE shall not destroy before the
Dooms Day or do not give severe punishment; it has been written in the Book of
Allâh.
وَمَا
مَنَعَنَا
أَن
نُّرْسِلَ
بِالآيَاتِ
إِلاَّ أَن
كَذَّبَ
بِهَا
الأَوَّلُونَ
وَآتَيْنَا
ثَمُودَ
النَّاقَةَ
مُبْصِرَةً فَظَلَمُواْ
بِهَا وَمَا
نُرْسِلُ
بِالآيَاتِ
إِلاَّ
تَخْوِيفًا
59. Wama manaAAana an nursila
bialayati illa an kaththaba biha alawwaloona waatayna thamooda alnnaqata
mubsiratan fathalamoo biha wama nursilu bialayati illa takhweefan
And nothing has stopped US from sending the signs (Ayât) except this that the
people before them had denied it. (Hence
look) WE sent the she-camel to (the people of) Thamûd as a clear sign and they
did cruelty to her. WE sent signs only
for the reason that people should be scared after seeing them.
وَإِذْ
قُلْنَا لَكَ
إِنَّ
رَبَّكَ
أَحَاطَ
بِالنَّاسِ
وَمَا
جَعَلْنَا
الرُّؤيَا الَّتِي
أَرَيْنَاكَ
إِلاَّ
فِتْنَةً
لِّلنَّاسِ وَالشَّجَرَةَ
الْمَلْعُونَةَ
فِي القُرْآنِ
وَنُخَوِّفُهُمْ
فَمَا
يَزِيدُهُمْ إِلاَّ
طُغْيَانًا
كَبِيرًا
60.
Waith qulna
laka inna rabbaka ahata bialnnasi wama jaAAalna alrruya allatee araynaka illa
fitnatan lilnnasi waalshshajarata almalAAoonata fee alqurani wanukhawwifuhum
fama yazeeduhum illa tughyanan kabeeran
Recall O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu
‘alayhi wa sallam), WE told you
that your Râbb has surrounded them. And
whatever WE have just shown you this and that tree (Zaqqûm) on which cursed has
been laid in Al-Qur'ân, WE have made it a thing of mischief for these people.
WE are giving them warning after warning, but each warning is only increasing
in their rebellion. (R) 6
وَإِذْ
قُلْنَا
لِلْمَلآئِكَةِ
اسْجُدُواْ
لآدَمَ
فَسَجَدُواْ
إَلاَّ
إِبْلِيسَ قَالَ
أَأَسْجُدُ
لِمَنْ
خَلَقْتَ
طِينًا
61. Waith qulna
lilmalaikati osjudoo liadama fasajadoo illa ibleesa qala aasjudu liman khalaqta
teenan
And recall when WE said to the angels: "Bow down in prostration before
Adam." Then they all bowed down in
prostration except Iblîs (Satan). He
said: "Should I prostrate before him whom YOU have created from
clay?"
قَالَ
أَرَأَيْتَكَ
هَـذَا
الَّذِي
كَرَّمْتَ
عَلَيَّ
لَئِنْ
أَخَّرْتَنِ
إِلَى يَوْمِ
الْقِيَامَةِ
لأَحْتَنِكَنَّ
ذُرِّيَّتَهُ
إَلاَّ
قَلِيلاً
62. Qala araaytaka
hatha allathee karramta AAalayya lain akhkhartani ila yawmi alqiyamati
laahtanikanna thurriyyatahu illa qaleelan
Then he (Iblîs) said: "Just see, was he worthy of this that YOU have
preferred him above me? If YOU give me respite till the
Day of Resurrection then I will extricate (uproot) all of his progeny, only a
few people will be able to escape from me."
قَالَ
اذْهَبْ
فَمَن
تَبِعَكَ
مِنْهُمْ فَإِنَّ
جَهَنَّمَ
جَزَآؤُكُمْ
جَزَاء مَّوْفُورًا
63.
Qala ithhab
faman tabiAAaka minhum fainna jahannama jazaokum jazaan mawfooran
Allâh Responded: "Well then go, whoever among them will follow you; hell
is the only ample reward for all of them including yourself.
وَاسْتَفْزِزْ
مَنِ
اسْتَطَعْتَ
مِنْهُمْ
بِصَوْتِكَ
وَأَجْلِبْ
عَلَيْهِم
بِخَيْلِكَ
وَرَجِلِكَ
وَشَارِكْهُمْ
فِي الأَمْوَالِ
وَالأَوْلادِ
وَعِدْهُمْ
وَمَا يَعِدُهُمُ
الشَّيْطَانُ
إِلاَّ
غُرُورًا
64. Waistafziz mani
istataAAta minhum bisawtika waajlib AAalayhim bikhaylika warajlika washarikhum
fee alamwali waalawladi waAAidhum wama yaAAiduhumu alshshaytanu illa ghurooran
Seduce whomsoever you can seduce (Istafziz) with your invitation, gather your
horsemen and infantry against them, become partner in their wealth and
children, and entrap them in promises -- and Satan’s promises are nothing but
deception --
إِنَّ
عِبَادِي
لَيْسَ لَكَ
عَلَيْهِمْ
سُلْطَانٌ
وَكَفَى
بِرَبِّكَ
وَكِيلاً
65. Inna AAibadee
laysa laka AAalayhim sultanun wakafa birabbika wakeelan
Certainly you will not have any control over MY
servants, and your Râbb is Sufficient for Trust (destiny)."
رَّبُّكُمُ
الَّذِي
يُزْجِي
لَكُمُ الْفُلْكَ
فِي
الْبَحْرِ
لِتَبْتَغُواْ
مِن فَضْلِهِ
إِنَّهُ
كَانَ بِكُمْ
رَحِيمًا
66. Rabbukumu allathee yuzjee
lakumu alfulka fee albahri litabtaghoo min fadlihi innahu kana bikum raheeman
Your (True) Râbb is HE WHO sails your boat in an ocean -- so that you may seek
HIS Bounty. The fact is that HE is Most
Merciful to you.
وَإِذَا
مَسَّكُمُ
الْضُّرُّ
فِي الْبَحْرِ
ضَلَّ مَن
تَدْعُونَ
إِلاَّ
إِيَّاهُ فَلَمَّا
نَجَّاكُمْ
إِلَى الْبَرِّ
أَعْرَضْتُمْ
وَكَانَ
الإِنْسَانُ
كَفُورًا
67. Waitha massakumu alddurru
fee albahri dalla man tadAAoona illa iyyahu falamma najjakum ila albarri
aAAradtum wakana alinsanu kafooran
When a calamity comes on you in ocean then they all disappear whomsoever you
use to invoke except HIM (Alone), but when HE brings you safely to the land
then you turn away your faces from HIM.
Human is in fact very ungrateful.
أَفَأَمِنتُمْ
أَن يَخْسِفَ
بِكُمْ جَانِبَ
الْبَرِّ
أَوْ
يُرْسِلَ
عَلَيْكُمْ
حَاصِبًا
ثُمَّ لاَ
تَجِدُواْ
لَكُمْ
وَكِيلاً
68. Afaamintum an yakhsifa bikum
janiba albarri aw yursila AAalaykum hasiban thumma la tajidoo lakum wakeelan
Well, are you then fearless from this thing that Allâh may bury you in the
earth even on the land, or send a stone storm on you and you do not find any
helper (Wakîl) against it.
أَمْ
أَمِنتُمْ
أَن
يُعِيدَكُمْ
فِيهِ تَارَةً
أُخْرَى
فَيُرْسِلَ
عَلَيْكُمْ
قَاصِفا
مِّنَ
الرِّيحِ
فَيُغْرِقَكُم
بِمَا كَفَرْتُمْ
ثُمَّ لاَ
تَجِدُواْ
لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا
بِهِ
تَبِيعًا
69.
Am amintum
an yuAAeedakum feehi taratan okhra fayursila AAalaykum qasifan mina alrreehi
fayughriqakum bima kafartum thumma la tajidoo lakum AAalayna bihi tabeeAAan
And do you not fear that for a moment -- again Allâh may take you into the sea
and drown you by sending a hurricane of wind because of your ungratefulness and
you could not find anyone who can inquire from HIM about this end of yours? --
وَلَقَدْ
كَرَّمْنَا
بَنِي آدَمَ
وَحَمَلْنَاهُمْ
فِي الْبَرِّ
وَالْبَحْرِ
وَرَزَقْنَاهُم
مِّنَ
الطَّيِّبَاتِ
وَفَضَّلْنَاهُمْ
عَلَى
كَثِيرٍ
مِّمَّنْ
خَلَقْنَا
تَفْضِيلاً
70. Walaqad karramna
banee adama wahamalnahum fee albarri waalbahri warazaqnahum mina alttayyibati
wafaddalnahum AAala katheerin mimman khalaqna tafdeelan
This is OUR Kindness that WE have honored the Children of Adam and given them
transport on land as well as on sea and given them provisions from pure things
(At-Taiyibât) and clearly preferred above many of OUR other creations. (R) 7
يَوْمَ
نَدْعُو
كُلَّ أُنَاسٍ
بِإِمَامِهِمْ
فَمَنْ
أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ
بِيَمِينِهِ
فَأُوْلَـئِكَ
يَقْرَؤُونَ
كِتَابَهُمْ
وَلاَ يُظْلَمُونَ
فَتِيلاً
71. Yawma nadAAoo
kulla onasin biimamihim faman ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi faolaika yaqraoona
kitabahum wala yuthlamoona fateelan
Then visualize about the Day when WE shall call all mankind with their leaders
(Imâms). At that time those people whom
the record of their deeds will be given in their right hand they will read
their records and no unjust will be done to them.
وَمَن
كَانَ فِي
هَـذِهِ
أَعْمَى
فَهُوَ فِي
الآخِرَةِ
أَعْمَى
وَأَضَلُّ
سَبِيلاً
72. Waman kana fee
hathihi aAAma fahuwa fee alakhirati aAAma waadallu sabeelan
And whoever lived in this world as a blind (person)
he/she will also remain blind in the Hereafter, even worse than a blind in
finding the way (of salvation).
وَإِن
كَادُواْ
لَيَفْتِنُونَكَ
عَنِ الَّذِي
أَوْحَيْنَا
إِلَيْكَ
لِتفْتَرِيَ
عَلَيْنَا
غَيْرَهُ
وَإِذًا
لاَّتَّخَذُوكَ
خَلِيلاً
73. Wain kadoo layaftinoonaka
AAani allathee awhayna ilayka litaftariya AAalayna ghayrahu waithan
laittakhathooka khaleelan
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), these
people have tried their best to turn you
away from the revelation WE have send to you
by trapping you into a mischief -- so that you may fabricate anything in OUR
Name. If you have done so then they would have surely taken you as their friend.
وَلَوْلاَ
أَن
ثَبَّتْنَاكَ
لَقَدْ كِدتَّ
تَرْكَنُ
إِلَيْهِمْ
شَيْئًا
قَلِيلاً
74. Walawla an thabbatnaka laqad kidta tarkanu ilayhim shayan qaleelan
And it was not far that if WE had not kept you
firm then you might have inclined a little bit toward them.
إِذاً
لَّأَذَقْنَاكَ
ضِعْفَ
الْحَيَاةِ وَضِعْفَ
الْمَمَاتِ
ثُمَّ لاَ
تَجِدُ لَكَ
عَلَيْنَا
نَصِيرًا
75. Ithan
laathaqnaka diAAfa alhayati wadiAAfa almamati thumma la tajidu laka AAalayna
naseeran
But if you have done so then WE would have made you taste double punishment in
this world as well as in the Hereafter, then you would have not found any
helper against US.
وَإِن
كَادُواْ
لَيَسْتَفِزُّونَكَ
مِنَ الأَرْضِ
لِيُخْرِجوكَ
مِنْهَا
وَإِذًا لاَّ
يَلْبَثُونَ
خِلافَكَ
إِلاَّ
قَلِيلاً
76. Wain kadoo
layastafizzoonaka mina alardi liyukhrijooka minha waithan la yalbathoona
khilafaka illa qaleelan
And these people have also been persistence on this thing that they displace
you from this
land and expel you from here. But if
they will do so then after you they will not be able to stay here much longer.
سُنَّةَ
مَن قَدْ
أَرْسَلْنَا
قَبْلَكَ مِن
رُّسُلِنَا وَلاَ
تَجِدُ
لِسُنَّتِنَا
تَحْوِيلاً
77. Sunnata man qad
arsalna qablaka min rusulina wala tajidu lisunnatina tahweelan
This has always been OUR Rule (Sunnah), which WE have used in case of all the
Rasools whom WE had sent before you
and you will not find any change in
OUR Principle (Sunnah). (R) 8
أَقِمِ
الصَّلاَةَ
لِدُلُوكِ
الشَّمْسِ إِلَى
غَسَقِ
اللَّيْلِ
وَقُرْآنَ
الْفَجْرِ
إِنَّ
قُرْآنَ
الْفَجْرِ
كَانَ
مَشْهُودًا
78. Aqimi alssalata lidulooki
alshshamsi ila ghasaqi allayli waqurana alfajri inna
qurana alfajri kana mashhoodan
Establish prayer (As-Salât) from the declining of sun (afternoon) to the
darkness of the night (Zuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib, and 'Ishâ' prayers) and also
recite Al-Qur'ân especially in the early morning because the recitation of
Al-Qur'ân in the early morning has been witnessed (by angels).
وَمِنَ
اللَّيْلِ
فَتَهَجَّدْ
بِهِ نَافِلَةً
لَّكَ عَسَى
أَن
يَبْعَثَكَ
رَبُّكَ مَقَامًا
مَّحْمُودًا
79. Wamina allayli fatahajjad
bihi nafilatan laka AAasa an yabAAathaka rabbuka maqaman mahmoodan
And offer the mid-night prayer (Salât-e-Tahajjud) at nighttime, it is an
additional (Nawâfil) for you (Muhammad,
sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) -- it is not far away that your Râbb may
exalt you to the place of praise and glory (Maqâman-e-Mahmûda).
وَقُل
رَّبِّ
أَدْخِلْنِي
مُدْخَلَ
صِدْقٍ
وَأَخْرِجْنِي
مُخْرَجَ
صِدْقٍ
وَاجْعَل
لِّي مِن
لَّدُنكَ سُلْطَانًا
نَّصِيرًا
80. Waqul rabbi adkhilnee
mudkhala sidqin waakhrijnee mukhraja sidqin waijAAal lee min ladunka sultanan
naseeran
And pray: "O Râbb, wherever YOU take me take me with truth and from
wherever YOU depart me depart me with truth and from YOURSELF appoint the Power
as my helper.
وَقُلْ
جَاء الْحَقُّ
وَزَهَقَ
الْبَاطِلُ
إِنَّ
الْبَاطِلَ كَانَ
زَهُوقًا
81. Waqul jaa alhaqqu wazahaqa
albatilu inna albatila kana zahooqan
And announce that: "Truth has come and falsehood
(Bâtil) has been eradicated the falsehood (Bâtil) has meant for termination."
وَنُنَزِّلُ
مِنَ
الْقُرْآنِ
مَا هُوَ شِفَاء
وَرَحْمَةٌ
لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
وَلاَ يَزِيدُ
الظَّالِمِينَ
إَلاَّ
خَسَارًا
82. Wanunazzilu mina alqurani ma
huwa shifaon warahmatun lilmumineena wala yazeedu alththalimeena illa khasaran
WE are sending down that thing through the revelation of this Al-Qur’ân, which
is healing, and mercy for the believers, but for the wrongdoers (Zâlimûn) it
increases nothing but loss.
وَإِذَآ
أَنْعَمْنَا
عَلَى
الإِنسَانِ
أَعْرَضَ
وَنَأَى
بِجَانِبِهِ
وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ
الشَّرُّ
كَانَ
يَؤُوسًا
83. Waitha anAAamna AAala
alinsani aAArada wanaa bijanibihi waitha massahu alshsharru kana yaoosan
This is the case of mankind that when WE bestow OUR
Mercy on him/her then he/she becomes arrogant and turns his/her back, and when
goes through any misfortune for a while then starts grieving.
قُلْ
كُلٌّ
يَعْمَلُ
عَلَى
شَاكِلَتِهِ
فَرَبُّكُمْ
أَعْلَمُ
بِمَنْ هُوَ
أَهْدَى سَبِيلاً
84. Qul kullun yaAAmalu
AAala shakilatihi farabbukum aAAlamu biman huwa ahda sabeelan
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi
wa sallam), tell these people: "Everyone is do something according to
his/her belief (Shakilatihi), now your Râbb Knows best who is on the right
path." (R) 9
وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ
عَنِ
الرُّوحِ
قُلِ الرُّوحُ
مِنْ أَمْرِ
رَبِّي وَمَا
أُوتِيتُم مِّن
الْعِلْمِ
إِلاَّ
قَلِيلاً
85. Wayasaloonaka
AAani alrroohi quli alrroohu min amri rabbee wama ooteetum mina alAAilmi illa
qaleelan
These people inquire from you about Rûh (the Revelation, the Spirit). Tell them: "The Spirit (Rûh) comes by
the command of my Râbb, but you people have seldom benefited from the
knowledge."
وَلَئِن
شِئْنَا
لَنَذْهَبَنَّ
بِالَّذِي
أَوْحَيْنَا
إِلَيْكَ
ثُمَّ لاَ
تَجِدُ لَكَ
بِهِ
عَلَيْنَا
وَكِيلاً
86. Walain shina lanathhabanna
biallathee awhayna ilayka thumma la tajidu laka bihi AAalayna wakeelan
And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), if WE
want then WE may take away all that from you -- which WE have given you through
revelation, then you will not find any helper against US, who can help (you
Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)
to get it back.
إِلاَّ
رَحْمَةً
مِّن
رَّبِّكَ
إِنَّ فَضْلَهُ
كَانَ
عَلَيْكَ
كَبِيرًا
87. Illa rahmatan min rabbika
inna fadlahu kana AAalayka kabeeran
Whatever you have gotten is by the mercy of your Râbb;
the fact is that HIS Favor to you is
immense.
قُل
لَّئِنِ
اجْتَمَعَتِ
الإِنسُ
وَالْجِنُّ
عَلَى أَن
يَأْتُواْ
بِمِثْلِ
هَـذَا الْقُرْآنِ
لاَ
يَأْتُونَ
بِمِثْلِهِ وَلَوْ
كَانَ
بَعْضُهُمْ
لِبَعْضٍ
ظَهِيرًا
88. Qul laini ijtamaAAati alinsu
waaljinnu AAala an yatoo bimithli hatha alqurani la yatoona bimithlihi walaw
kana baAAduhum libaAAdin thaheeran
Say it that: "If all the mankind and the jinn get together and try to
produce anything like this Al-Qur'ân, they would never be able to succeed, even
if they are the helpers of one another."
وَلَقَدْ
صَرَّفْنَا
لِلنَّاسِ
فِي هَـذَا
الْقُرْآنِ
مِن كُلِّ
مَثَلٍ
فَأَبَى أَكْثَرُ
النَّاسِ إِلاَّ
كُفُورًا
89. Walaqad sarrafna lilnnasi
fee hatha alqurani min kulli mathalin faaba aktharu alnnasi illa kufooran
WE have used different methods in this Al-Qur'ân to make the people understand,
but most of the people firmly stuck on the refusal
وَقَالُواْ
لَن
نُّؤْمِنَ
لَكَ حَتَّى
تَفْجُرَ
لَنَا مِنَ
الأَرْضِ
يَنبُوعًا
90. Waqaloo lan
numina laka hatta tafjura lana mina alardi yanbooAAan
And they said: "We will not accept your message, until you cause the
fountain to flow for us by splitting the earth.
أَوْ
تَكُونَ لَكَ
جَنَّةٌ مِّن
نَّخِيلٍ وَعِنَبٍ
فَتُفَجِّرَ
الأَنْهَارَ
خِلالَهَا
تَفْجِيرًا
91. Aw takoona laka jannatun min
nakheelin waAAinabin fatufajjira alanhara khilalaha tafjeeran
Or a garden of date palms and grapes should be created
for you and you make canals to flow in it.
أَوْ
تُسْقِطَ
السَّمَاء
كَمَا
زَعَمْتَ عَلَيْنَا
كِسَفًا أَوْ
تَأْتِيَ
بِاللّهِ وَالْمَلآئِكَةِ
قَبِيلاً
92. Aw tusqita alssamaa kama zaAAamta AAalayna kisafan aw
tatiya biAllahi waalmalaikati qabeelan
Or you cause the sky to break into pieces and fall on us as you have
claimed. Or bring Allâh and the angels
face to face before us.
أَوْ
يَكُونَ لَكَ
بَيْتٌ مِّن
زُخْرُفٍ أَوْ
تَرْقَى فِي
السَّمَاء
وَلَن
نُّؤْمِنَ
لِرُقِيِّكَ
حَتَّى
تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْنَا
كِتَابًا
نَّقْرَؤُهُ
قُلْ سُبْحَانَ
رَبِّي هَلْ
كُنتُ إَلاَّ
بَشَرًا رَّسُولاً
93. Aw yakoona laka baytun min
zukhrufin aw tarqa fee alssamai walan numina liruqiyyika hatta tunazzila
AAalayna kitaban naqraohu qul subhana rabbee hal kuntu illa basharan rasoolan
Or a house of gold should be built for you.
Or you may climb up to the sky, and we will not believe in your
ascending (to sky) until you bring down such writing for us that we can read -- O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) tell them: "Exalted is my
Râbb above all! Am I something more than
a man who brings the message?" (R) 10
وَمَا
مَنَعَ
النَّاسَ أَن
يُؤْمِنُواْ
إِذْ
جَاءهُمُ
الْهُدَى
إِلاَّ أَن
قَالُواْ أَبَعَثَ
اللّهُ
بَشَرًا
رَّسُولاً
94. Wama manaAAa alnnasa an
yuminoo ith jaahumu alhuda illa an qaloo abaAAatha Allahu basharan rasoolan
Whenever guidance came to the people then nothing stopped them to bring Faith
except their this saying: "Has Allâh sent human as a Messenger?"
قُل لَّوْ
كَانَ فِي
الأَرْضِ
مَلآئِكَةٌ يَمْشُونَ
مُطْمَئِنِّينَ
لَنَزَّلْنَا
عَلَيْهِم
مِّنَ
السَّمَاء
مَلَكًا
رَّسُولاً
95. Qul law kana fee alardi
malaikatun yamshoona mutmainneena lanazzalna AAalayhim mina alssamai malakan rasoolan
Tell them: "If angels were walking in peace on the earth then WE certainly
should have sent down angels from the sky for them as Messenger."
قُلْ
كَفَى
بِاللّهِ
شَهِيدًا
بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ
إِنَّهُ
كَانَ
بِعِبَادِهِ
خَبِيرًا
بَصِيرًا
96. Qul kafa biAllahi shaheedan
baynee wabaynakum innahu kana biAAibadihi khabeeran baseeran
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi
wa sallam) tell them: "A witness of Allâh is Sufficient between me and
you. HE is well aware of HIS servants
and is watching everything."
وَمَن
يَهْدِ
اللّهُ
فَهُوَ
الْمُهْتَدِ
وَمَن
يُضْلِلْ
فَلَن تَجِدَ
لَهُمْ
أَوْلِيَاء
مِن دُونِهِ
وَنَحْشُرُهُمْ
يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
عَلَى
وُجُوهِهِمْ
عُمْيًا وَبُكْمًا
وَصُمًّا
مَّأْوَاهُمْ
جَهَنَّمُ
كُلَّمَا
خَبَتْ
زِدْنَاهُمْ
سَعِيرًا
97. Waman yahdi
Allahu fahuwa almuhtadi waman yudlil falan tajida lahum awliyaa min doonihi
wanahshuruhum yawma alqiyamati AAala wujoohihim AAumyan wabukman wasumman
mawahum jahannamu kullama khabat zidnahum saAAeeran
Whomever Allâh guides he/she is rightly guided, and whomever HE lets go astray
for such people you cannot find any helper or protector (Auliyâ') except
HIM. On the Day of Resurrection WE shall
bring these people on their faces down, blind, dumb and deaf. Their destination is Hell. Whenever its fire
will start diminishing WE shall inflame it more.
ذَلِكَ
جَزَآؤُهُم
بِأَنَّهُمْ
كَفَرُواْ
بِآيَاتِنَا
وَقَالُواْ
أَئِذَا
كُنَّا عِظَامًا
وَرُفَاتًا
أَإِنَّا
لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
خَلْقًا
جَدِيدًا
98. Thalika jazaohum
biannahum kafaroo biayatina waqaloo aitha kunna AAithaman warufatan ainna
lamabAAoothoona khalqan jadeedan
This is the recompense for their misdeed that they denied OUR Revelation and
said: "What! Will we be recreated and raised up again -- when we will turn
into bones and dust"?
أَوَلَمْ
يَرَوْاْ
أَنَّ اللّهَ
الَّذِي خَلَقَ
السَّمَاوَاتِ
وَالأَرْضَ
قَادِرٌ عَلَى
أَن يَخْلُقَ
مِثْلَهُمْ وَجَعَلَ
لَهُمْ
أَجَلاً لاَّ
رَيْبَ فِيهِ
فَأَبَى
الظَّالِمُونَ
إَلاَّ
كُفُورًا
99. Awa lam yaraw anna
Allaha allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda qadirun AAala an yakhluqa
mithlahum wajaAAala lahum ajalan la rayba feehi faaba alththalimoona illa
kufooran
Did it not come to their mind that Allâh WHO has created the skies and the
earth HE certainly has power to create them (again)? HE has ordained a term for their resurrection
that is surly going to come, but the wrongdoers (Zâlimûn) declare firmly that
they will deny it.
قُل لَّوْ
أَنتُمْ
تَمْلِكُونَ
خَزَآئِنَ رَحْمَةِ
رَبِّي إِذًا
لَّأَمْسَكْتُمْ
خَشْيَةَ
الإِنفَاقِ
وَكَانَ
الإنسَانُ قَتُورًا
100. Qul law antum
tamlikoona khazaina rahmati rabbee ithan laamsaktum khashyata alinfaqi wakana
alinsanu qatooran
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi
wa sallam) tell them: "If the treasures of the Mercy of my Râbb would
ever be in your possession then you surely would have held them back for the
fear of being spent. Certainly human has
been happened to be narrow-minded. (R) 11
وَلَقَدْ
آتَيْنَا
مُوسَى
تِسْعَ
آيَاتٍ بَيِّنَاتٍ
فَاسْأَلْ
بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ
إِذْ
جَاءهُمْ
فَقَالَ لَهُ
فِرْعَونُ إِنِّي
لَأَظُنُّكَ
يَا مُوسَى
مَسْحُورًا
101. Walaqad atayna moosa tisAAa
ayatin bayyinatin faisal banee israeela ith jaahum faqala lahu firAAawnu innee
laathunnuka ya moosa mashooran
WE had given nine signs to Mûsa, which were clearly visible. Now you may yourself ask from the Children of
Isrâil that when Mûsa came to them -- Fir'aun said to him: "O Mûsa! I
think that you are really under a magic-spell."
قَالَ
لَقَدْ
عَلِمْتَ مَا
أَنزَلَ
هَـؤُلاء إِلاَّ
رَبُّ
السَّمَاوَاتِ
وَالأَرْضِ بَصَآئِرَ
وَإِنِّي
لَأَظُنُّكَ يَا
فِرْعَونُ
مَثْبُورًا
102. Qala laqad AAalimta ma
anzala haolai illa rabbu alssamawati waalardi basaira wainnee laathunnuka ya
firAAawnu mathbooran
Mûsa responded: "You know very well that these eye opener signs have been
sent down by none but the Râbb of the skies and the earth, and I think O
Fir'aun that you are certainly a person destined for ruin."
فَأَرَادَ
أَن
يَسْتَفِزَّهُم
مِّنَ الأَرْضِ
فَأَغْرَقْنَاهُ
وَمَن
مَّعَهُ جَمِيعًا
103. Faarada an yastafizzahum
mina alardi faaghraqnahu waman maAAahu jameeAAan
Finally Fir’aun decided to uproot Mûsa and the Children of Isrâil from the land
(of Egypt), but WE drowned him along
with his companions
وَقُلْنَا
مِن بَعْدِهِ
لِبَنِي
إِسْرَائِيلَ
اسْكُنُواْ
الأَرْضَ
فَإِذَا جَاء
وَعْدُ
الآخِرَةِ
جِئْنَا بِكُمْ
لَفِيفًا
104. Waqulna min
baAAdihi libanee israeela oskunoo alarda faitha jaa waAAdu alakhirati jina
bikum lafeefan
And after this (WE) said to the Children of Isrâil:
"Now you live in the land and when the time for the promise of
resurrection will come then WE shall bring you altogether.
وَبِالْحَقِّ
أَنزَلْنَاهُ
وَبِالْحَقِّ
نَزَلَ وَمَا
أَرْسَلْنَاكَ
إِلاَّ مُبَشِّرًا
وَنَذِيرًا
105. Wabialhaqqi
anzalnahu wabialhaqqi nazala wama arsalnaka illa mubashshiran wanatheeran
WE have revealed this Al-Qur'ân in truth and it has come down with truth, and O
Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), WE
have not sent you except this that you should give glad tidings (to those who
accept it) and warn (those who do not accept this message).
وَقُرْآناً
فَرَقْنَاهُ
لِتَقْرَأَهُ
عَلَى
النَّاسِ
عَلَى مُكْثٍ
وَنَزَّلْنَاهُ
تَنزِيلاً
106. Waquranan faraqnahu
litaqraahu AAala alnnasi AAala mukthin wanazzalnahu tanzeelan
And WE have revealed this Al-Qur'ân gradually so that
you should recite it to the people progressively, and WE have revealed it in
sequence (according to the situations).
قُلْ
آمِنُواْ
بِهِ أَوْ لاَ
تُؤْمِنُواْ
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ
أُوتُواْ
الْعِلْمَ
مِن قَبْلِهِ
إِذَا
يُتْلَى
عَلَيْهِمْ
يَخِرُّونَ لِلأَذْقَانِ
سُجَّدًا
107. Qul aminoo bihi
aw la tuminoo inna allatheena ootoo alAAilma min qablihi itha yutla AAalayhim
yakhirroona lilathqani sujjadan
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) tell
these people: "Whether you accept it or not, but when it is recited to
those people whom the knowledge have been given before it they fall down on
their faces in prostration
وَيَقُولُونَ
سُبْحَانَ
رَبِّنَا إِن
كَانَ وَعْدُ
رَبِّنَا
لَمَفْعُولاً
108. Wayaqooloona
subhana rabbina in kana waAAdu rabbina lamafAAoolan
And cry out: "Pure is our Râbb! HIS Promise was to be fulfilled."
وَيَخِرُّونَ
لِلأَذْقَانِ
يَبْكُونَ وَيَزِيدُهُمْ
خُشُوعًا(Al- Sajjdah)
109. Wayakhirroona
lilathqani yabkoona wayazeeduhum khushooAAan
And they fall down on their faces weeping and its
listening adds to their humility.
قُلِ
ادْعُواْ
اللّهَ أَوِ
ادْعُواْ
الرَّحْمَـنَ
أَيًّا مَّا
تَدْعُواْ
فَلَهُ
الأَسْمَاء
الْحُسْنَى
وَلاَ تَجْهَرْ
بِصَلاَتِكَ
وَلاَ
تُخَافِتْ
بِهَا وَابْتَغِ
بَيْنَ
ذَلِكَ
سَبِيلاً
110. Quli odAAoo
Allaha awi odAAoo alrrahmana ayyan ma tadAAoo falahu alasmao alhusna wala
tajhar bisalatika wala tukhafit biha waibtaghi bayna thalika sabeelan
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) tell
them: "Whether you call (HIM) Allâh or Rahmân (the Loving), by whatever
name you call HIM, for HIM all names are excellent." And do not say your prayer (Salât) in a very
loud voice and nor in a very low voice, adopt the middle way between these two.
وَقُلِ
الْحَمْدُ
لِلّهِ
الَّذِي لَمْ
يَتَّخِذْ
وَلَدًا
وَلَم يَكُن
لَّهُ
شَرِيكٌ فِي
الْمُلْكِ
وَلَمْ يَكُن
لَّهُ
وَلِيٌّ مِّنَ
الذُّلَّ
وَكَبِّرْهُ
تَكْبِيرًا
1. Waquli alhamdu
lillahi allathee lam yattakhith waladan walam yakun lahu shareekun fee almulki
walam yakun lahu waliyyun mina alththulli wakabbirhu takbeeran
And say: "Praise is for that Allâh WHO has neither taken anyone as a son
nor anyone is a partner in the Kingdom, and nor HE is helpless that anyone
should be HIS helper (Walî)." And
praise HIS Glory, the Glory of excellence. (R) 12

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani

(I) Begin with the Name of Allâh WHO is Most Loving and Most Merciful
الْحَمْدُ
لِلَّهِ
الَّذِي
أَنزَلَ
عَلَى عَبْدِهِ
الْكِتَابَ
وَلَمْ
يَجْعَل لَّهُ
عِوَجَا
1. Alhamdu lillahi allathee
anzala AAala AAabdihi alkitaba walam yajAAal lahu AAiwajan
Praise is for Allâh WHO revealed this Book on HIS servant (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and did not leave any flaw in it.
قَيِّمًا
لِّيُنذِرَ
بَأْسًا
شَدِيدًا مِن
لَّدُنْهُ وَيُبَشِّرَ
الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
الَّذِينَ
يَعْمَلُونَ
الصَّالِحَاتِ
أَنَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرًا
حَسَنًا
2.
Qayyiman
liyunthira basan shadeedan min ladunhu wayubashshira almumineena allatheena
yaAAmaloona alssalihati anna lahum ajran hasanan
A Book of truthful and straightforward message, so that he should warn the
people from the severe punishment of Allâh and give glad tidings to those who
bring Faith and do righteous deeds that there is a good reward for them.
مَاكِثِينَ
فِيهِ
أَبَدًا
3.
Makitheena
feehi abadan
They will stay in it forever,
وَيُنذِرَ
الَّذِينَ
قَالُوا
اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ
وَلَدًا
4.
Wayunthira
allatheena qaloo ittakhatha Allahu waladan
And scare those people who say, "Allâh has taken
anyone as HIS son."
مَّا
لَهُم بِهِ
مِنْ عِلْمٍ
وَلَا
لِآبَائِهِمْ
كَبُرَتْ
كَلِمَةً
تَخْرُجُ
مِنْ أَفْوَاهِهِمْ
إِن
يَقُولُونَ
إِلَّا
كَذِبًا
5.
Ma lahum
bihi min AAilmin wala liabaihim kaburat kalimatan takhruju min afwahihim in
yaqooloona illa kathiban
Neither they have any knowledge of this thing nor their forefathers had. This is flimsy thing that comes out from
their mouths; they speak just complete lie.
فَلَعَلَّكَ
بَاخِعٌ
نَّفْسَكَ
عَلَى آثَارِهِمْ
إِن لَّمْ
يُؤْمِنُوا
بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ
أَسَفًا
6. FalaAAallaka
bakhiAAun nafsaka AAala atharihim in lam yuminoo bihatha alhadeethi asafan
Well, then O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam),
perhaps you are going to give your life in grief for them if they do not bring
Faith on this teaching.
إِنَّا
جَعَلْنَا
مَا عَلَى
الْأَرْضِ
زِينَةً
لَّهَا
لِنَبْلُوَهُمْ
أَيُّهُمْ أَحْسَنُ
عَمَلًا
7.
Inna
jaAAalna ma AAala alardi zeenatan laha linabluwahum ayyuhum ahsanu AAamalan
The fact is that whatever is on the earth WE have made it the beauty of the
earth so that (WE) could test these people who does good deeds among them.
وَإِنَّا
لَجَاعِلُونَ
مَا
عَلَيْهَا
صَعِيدًا
جُرُزًا
8.
Wainna
lajaAAiloona ma AAalayha saAAeedan juruzan
Ultimately! WE are going to make it entire bare plain field.
أَمْ
حَسِبْتَ
أَنَّ
أَصْحَابَ
الْكَهْفِ وَالرَّقِيمِ
كَانُوا مِنْ
آيَاتِنَا
عَجَبًا
9.
Am hasibta
anna ashaba alkahfi waalrraqeemi kanoo min ayatina AAajaban
Do you think that the people of the cave and engraved plate (Ar-Raqeem) were
from among OUR strange Signs?
إِذْ
أَوَى
الْفِتْيَةُ
إِلَى
الْكَهْفِ فَقَالُوا
رَبَّنَا
آتِنَا مِن
لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً
وَهَيِّئْ
لَنَا مِنْ
أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا
10. Ith awa alfityatu ila alkahfi faqaloo rabbana atina
min ladunka rahmatan wahayyi lana min amrina rashadan
When those a few young men took refuge in the cave and they said: "Our
Râbb! Bless us with YOUR special favor and fix our affair in the right
way,"
فَضَرَبْنَا
عَلَى
آذَانِهِمْ
فِي الْكَهْفِ
سِنِينَ
عَدَدًا
11.
Fadarabna
AAala athanihim fee alkahfi sineena AAadadan
Then in the same cave WE gave them sound sleep for many years,
ثُمَّ
بَعَثْنَاهُمْ
لِنَعْلَمَ
أَيُّ الْحِزْبَيْنِ
أَحْصَى
لِمَا
لَبِثُوا
أَمَدًا
12. Thumma baAAathnahum
linaAAlama ayyu alhizbayni ahsa lima labithoo amadan
Then WE awaken them up to see between the two groups, which can correctly
calculate their stay time (in that cave). (R) 13
نَحْنُ
نَقُصُّ
عَلَيْكَ
نَبَأَهُم
بِالْحَقِّ
إِنَّهُمْ
فِتْيَةٌ
آمَنُوا
بِرَبِّهِمْ
وَزِدْنَاهُمْ
هُدًى
13. Nahnu naqussu AAalayka
nabaahum bialhaqqi innahum fityatun amanoo birabbihim wazidnahum hudan
WE narrate their real story to you. They
were young men who had brought Faith in their Râbb and WE exalted them in
guidance.
وَرَبَطْنَا
عَلَى
قُلُوبِهِمْ
إِذْ قَامُوا
فَقَالُوا
رَبُّنَا
رَبُّ
السَّمَاوَاتِ
وَالْأَرْضِ
لَن
نَّدْعُوَ
مِن دُونِهِ
إِلَهًا
لَقَدْ
قُلْنَا
إِذًا شَطَطًا
14. Warabatna AAala quloobihim
ith qamoo faqaloo rabbuna rabbu alssamawati waalardi lan nadAAuwa min doonihi
ilahan laqad qulna ithan shatatan
WE strengthened their hearts when they woke up and announced: "Our Râbb is
the One WHO is the Râbb of the skies and the earth -- we will not call any
other deity (ilâh) except HIM. If we do
so then it will be absolutely improper thing."
هَؤُلَاء
قَوْمُنَا
اتَّخَذُوا
مِن دُونِهِ
آلِهَةً
لَّوْلَا
يَأْتُونَ
عَلَيْهِم بِسُلْطَانٍ
بَيِّنٍ
فَمَنْ
أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ
افْتَرَى
عَلَى
اللَّهِ
كَذِبًا
15. Haolai qawmuna ittakhathoo
min doonihi alihatan lawla yatoona AAalayhim bisultanin bayyinin faman athlamu
mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban
(Then they said to one another) "Our people have taken other deities
(Ilâhan) except the Râbb of the universe.
Why do these people not bring any clear proof for them to be
deities? So who else could be crueler
than the one who invents lie against Allâh?
وَإِذِ
اعْتَزَلْتُمُوهُمْ
وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ
إِلَّا
اللَّهَ
فَأْوُوا
إِلَى الْكَهْفِ
يَنشُرْ
لَكُمْ
رَبُّكُم
مِّن رَّحمته ويُهَيِّئْ
لَكُم مِّنْ
أَمْرِكُم
مِّرْفَقًا
16. Waithi iAAtazaltumoohum wama
yaAAbudoona illa Allaha fawoo ila alkahfi yanshur lakum rabbukum min rahmatihi
wayuhayyi lakum min amrikum mirfaqan
Now when you have withdrawn from them and as well as from their deities except
Allâh then let us go and take refuge in that cave. Your Râbb will extend HIS
Mercy on you and will provide the means for your affairs."
وَتَرَى
الشَّمْسَ
إِذَا
طَلَعَت
تَّزَاوَرُ
عَن
كَهْفِهِمْ
ذَاتَ
الْيَمِينِ
وَإِذَا
غَرَبَت
تَّقْرِضُهُمْ
ذَاتَ
الشِّمَالِ
وَهُمْ فِي
فَجْوَةٍ مِّنْهُ
ذَلِكَ مِنْ
آيَاتِ
اللَّهِ مَن
يَهْدِ
اللَّهُ
فَهُوَ
الْمُهْتَدِي
وَمَن يُضْلِلْ
فَلَن تَجِدَ
لَهُ
وَلِيًّا
مُّرْشِدًا
17. Watara alshshamsa itha
talaAAat tazawaru AAan kahfihim thata alyameeni waitha gharabat taqriduhum
thata alshshimali wahum fee fajwatin minhu thalika min ayati Allahi man yahdi
Allahu fahuwa almuhtadi waman yudlil falan tajida lahu waliyyan murshidan
If you could see them in the cave then it would appear to you that when the sun
rises it ascents to the right leaving their cave -- and when it sets, it turns
away from them and goes down to the left and they are laying in the spacious
place inside the Cave. This is one among
the Signs (Ayât) of Allâh whom Allâh guides he/she is rightly guided and whom
Allâh sends astray for him/her you cannot find any helper and guide (Walî and
Guide). (R) 14
وَتَحْسَبُهُمْ
أَيْقَاظًا
وَهُمْ رُقُودٌ
وَنُقَلِّبُهُمْ
ذَاتَ
الْيَمِينِ
وَذَاتَ
الشِّمَالِ
وَكَلْبُهُم
بَاسِطٌ ذِرَاعَيْهِ
بِالْوَصِيدِ
لَوِ
اطَّلَعْتَ
عَلَيْهِمْ
لَوَلَّيْتَ مِنْهُمْ
فِرَارًا
وَلَمُلِئْتَ
مِنْهُمْ
رُعْبًا
18. Watahsabuhum ayqathan wahum
ruqoodun wanuqallibuhum thata alyameeni wathata alshshimali wakalbuhum basitun
thiraAAayhi bialwaseedi lawi ittalaAAta AAalayhim lawallayta minhum firaran
walamulita minhum ruAAban
By seeing them you would have thought that they are awake, while they were
asleep. WE were turning them on their
right and left sides and their dog was sitting on the mouth of the cave
stretching its hands. If you have peeked
at them then you would have run away on your heels and you would have been
filled with terror by their sight.
وَكَذَلِكَ
بَعَثْنَاهُمْ
لِيَتَسَاءلُوا
بَيْنَهُمْ
قَالَ
قَائِلٌ
مِّنْهُمْ
كَمْ
لَبِثْتُمْ
قَالُوا
لَبِثْنَا
يَوْمًا أَوْ
بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ
قَالُوا
رَبُّكُمْ
أَعْلَمُ
بِمَا لَبِثْتُمْ
فَابْعَثُوا
أَحَدَكُم
بِوَرِقِكُمْ
هَذِهِ إِلَى
الْمَدِينَةِ
فَلْيَنظُرْ
أَيُّهَا
أَزْكَى
طَعَامًا
فَلْيَأْتِكُم
بِرِزْقٍ
مِّنْهُ
وَلْيَتَلَطَّفْ
وَلَا
يُشْعِرَنَّ
بِكُمْ
أَحَدًا
19. Wakathalika baAAathnahum
liyatasaaloo baynahum qala qailun minhum kam labithtum qaloo labithna yawman aw
baAAda yawmin qaloo rabbukum aAAlamu bima labithtum faibAAathoo ahadakum
biwariqikum hathihi ila almadeenati falyanthur ayyuha azka taAAaman falyatikum
birizqin minhu walyatalattaf wala yushAAiranna bikum ahadan
And with the same strange miracle WE awakened them so that they could mutually
question one another. One of them asked, tell: "How long have you been in
this state?" The others said:
"Perhaps for a day or less than a day." Then they said: "Allâh knows best for
how long we stayed in this condition.
Let us send one of us to the city with this silver coin and he should
find which place has the best food. From
there he should bring something to eat.
And he should be very careful; it should not be that he should inform
someone of our being here.
إِنَّهُمْ
إِن
يَظْهَرُوا
عَلَيْكُمْ
يَرْجُمُوكُمْ
أَوْ
يُعِيدُوكُمْ
فِي مِلَّتِهِمْ
وَلَن
تُفْلِحُوا
إِذًا
أَبَدًا
20. Innahum in yathharoo
AAalaykum yarjumookum aw yuAAeedookum fee millatihim walan tuflihoo ithan abadan
If those people find about us then they will stone us
to death, or will take us back to their people with force, and if it happened
so then we will never be successful." --
وَكَذَلِكَ
أَعْثَرْنَا
عَلَيْهِمْ
لِيَعْلَمُوا
أَنَّ وَعْدَ
اللَّهِ
حَقٌّ وَأَنَّ
السَّاعَةَ
لَا رَيْبَ
فِيهَا إِذْ يَتَنَازَعُونَ
بَيْنَهُمْ
أَمْرَهُمْ فَقَالُوا
ابْنُوا
عَلَيْهِم
بُنْيَانًا رَّبُّهُمْ
أَعْلَمُ
بِهِمْ قَالَ
الَّذِينَ
غَلَبُوا
عَلَى أَمْرِهِمْ
لَنَتَّخِذَنَّ
عَلَيْهِم
مَّسْجِدًا
21. Wakathalika aAAtharna
AAalayhim liyaAAlamoo anna waAAda Allahi haqqun waanna alsaAAata la rayba feeha
ith yatanazaAAoona baynahum amrahum faqaloo ibnoo AAalayhim bunyanan rabbuhum
aAAlamu bihim qala allatheena ghalaboo AAala amrihim lanattakhithanna AAalayhim
masjidan
This is how WE informed the people of the town about them so that the people
should know that the Promise of Allâh is true and that the Hour of Judgment
will surely come. (But just imagine that
when the real matter of thinking was this) at that time they were disputing
among themselves about this thing that what should be done to them (to the
people of the cave). Some people said:
"Construct a wall over them, their Râbb knows best about them." But those people who had control over their
affairs they said: "We will build a place of worship over them."
سَيَقُولُونَ
ثَلَاثَةٌ
رَّابِعُهُمْ
كَلْبُهُمْ
وَيَقُولُونَ
خَمْسَةٌ
سَادِسُهُمْ
كَلْبُهُمْ
رَجْمًا
بِالْغَيْبِ وَيَقُولُونَ
سَبْعَةٌ وَثَامِنُهُمْ
كَلْبُهُمْ
قُل رَّبِّي
أَعْلَمُ
بِعِدَّتِهِم
مَّا
يَعْلَمُهُمْ
إِلَّا
قَلِيلٌ
فَلَا
تُمَارِ
فِيهِمْ
إِلَّا
مِرَاء
ظَاهِرًا
وَلَا
تَسْتَفْتِ
فِيهِم
مِّنْهُمْ
أَحَدًا
22. Sayaqooloona thalathatun
rabiAAuhum kalbuhum wayaqooloona khamsatun sadisuhum kalbuhum rajman bialghaybi
wayaqooloona sabAAatun wathaminuhum kalbuhum qul rabbee aAAlamu biAAiddatihim
ma yaAAlamuhum illa qaleelun fala tumari feehim illa miraan thahiran wala
tastafti feehim minhum ahadan
Some people will say that they were three and the fourth was their dog. And some others will say that they were five
and the sixth was their dog. They all
are talking nonsense. Some other people
say that they were seven and the eighth was their dog. (Muhammad, sallallaahu
‘alayhi wa sallam) Say: "My Râbb knows best how many they were (in
number). Only a few people know their
correct number. So do not debate with
people about their number except for light talk, and nor ask anything from
anyone about them (the people of the Cave). (R) 15
وَلَا
تَقُولَنَّ
لِشَيْءٍ
إِنِّي
فَاعِلٌ
ذَلِكَ غَدًا
23. Wala taqoolanna
lishayin innee faAAilun thalika ghadan
And see; never say this about anything that I shall do
it tomorrow (as you can’t do anything).
إِلَّا
أَن يَشَاء
اللَّهُ
وَاذْكُر
رَّبَّكَ
إِذَا
نَسِيتَ
وَقُلْ عَسَى
أَن يَهْدِيَنِ
رَبِّي
لِأَقْرَبَ
مِنْ هَذَا
رَشَدًا
24. Illa an yashaa
Allahu waothkur rabbaka itha naseeta waqul AAasa an yahdiyani rabbee liaqraba
min hatha rashadan
Unless if Allâh Wills. If mistakenly
such thing comes out of tongue then immediately remember your Râbb and say:
"It is hopped that my Râbb will guide me in this matter toward the closest
of the truth" --
وَلَبِثُوا
فِي
كَهْفِهِمْ
ثَلَاثَ
مِائَةٍ
سِنِينَ
وَازْدَادُوا
تِسْعًا
25. Walabithoo fee kahfihim
thalatha miatin sineena waizdadoo tisAAan
And they stayed in their Cave for three hundred years,
and (some people in counts of the period have) added nine more years.
قُلِ
اللَّهُ
أَعْلَمُ
بِمَا
لَبِثُوا
لَهُ غَيْبُ السَّمَاوَاتِ
وَالْأَرْضِ
أَبْصِرْ
بِهِ وَأَسْمِعْ
مَا لَهُم
مِّن دُونِهِ
مِن وَلِيٍّ
وَلَا
يُشْرِكُ فِي
حُكْمِهِ
أَحَدًا
26. Quli Allahu aAAlamu bima
labithoo lahu ghaybu alssamawati waalardi absir bihi waasmiAA ma lahum min
doonihi min waliyyin wala yushriku fee hukmihi ahadan
You say: "Allâh knows best the period of their stay, HE knows all that,
which is hidden in the skies and the earth, what an excellent Seer and Hearer
HE is! (For the creation of the skies
and the earth) there is no other guardian (Walî) except HIM, and HE does not
take any partners in HIS Kingdom."
وَاتْلُ
مَا أُوحِيَ
إِلَيْكَ مِن
كِتَابِ رَبِّكَ
لَا
مُبَدِّلَ
لِكَلِمَاتِهِ
وَلَن تَجِدَ
مِن دُونِهِ
مُلْتَحَدًا
27. Waotlu ma oohiya
ilayka min kitabi rabbika la mubaddila likalimatihi walan tajida min doonihi
multahadan
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam),
whatever has been revealed to you from the Book of your Râbb recite it (without
any change), no one is authorized to change HIS Commandments, (and if you
Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)
will make any change for anyone then) will not find any place of refuge from
HIM.
وَاصْبِرْ
نَفْسَكَ
مَعَ
الَّذِينَ
يَدْعُونَ
رَبَّهُم
بِالْغَدَاةِ
وَالْعَشِيِّ
يُرِيدُونَ
وَجْهَهُ
وَلَا تَعْدُ عَيْنَاكَ
عَنْهُمْ
تُرِيدُ
زِينَةَ الْحَيَاةِ
الدُّنْيَا
وَلَا تُطِعْ
مَنْ أَغْفَلْنَا
قَلْبَهُ عَن
ذِكْرِنَا
وَاتَّبَعَ
هَوَاهُ
وَكَانَ
أَمْرُهُ
فُرُطًا
28. Waisbir nafsaka
maAAa allatheena yadAAoona rabbahum bialghadati waalAAashiyyi yureedoona
wajhahu wala taAAdu AAaynaka AAanhum tureedu zeenata alhayati alddunya wala
tutiAA man aghfalna qalbahu AAan thikrina waittabaAAa hawahu wakana amruhu
furutan
And satisfy your heart in the companionship of those
people who call HIM day and night becoming the seekers of the pleasure of their
Râbb, and never turn away (your) sight from them. Do you like the beauty of the world? Do not obey any such person; whose heart WE
have made forgetful of OUR Remembrance and who has adopted the pursuit of
his/her own lust and whose methodology depends on affluence and deficiency.
وَقُلِ
الْحَقُّ مِن
رَّبِّكُمْ
فَمَن شَاء
فَلْيُؤْمِن
وَمَن شَاء
فَلْيَكْفُرْ
إِنَّا
أَعْتَدْنَا
لِلظَّالِمِينَ
نَارًا أَحَاطَ
بِهِمْ
سُرَادِقُهَا
وَإِن
يَسْتَغِيثُوا
يُغَاثُوا
بِمَاء
كَالْمُهْلِ
يَشْوِي
الْوُجُوهَ
بِئْسَ
الشَّرَابُ
وَسَاءتْ
مُرْتَفَقًا
29. Waquli alhaqqu
min rabbikum faman shaa falyumin waman shaa falyakfur inna aAAtadna
lilththalimeena naran ahata bihim suradiquha wain yastagheethoo yughathoo
bimain kaalmuhli yashwee alwujooha bisa alshsharabu wasaat murtafaqan
Say it clearly that this is the Truth from your Râbb, now whosoever wants
should accept it and whosoever wants can deny it. WE have prepared fire for the crueler (Zâlimûn)
whose flames have surrounded them. There
if they will ask for the water then such water will be served to them, which
will be like waste of oil and will burn their mouths, the worst thing to drink
-- and the worst place to stay (Murtafaqâ)!
إِنَّ
الَّذِينَ
آمَنُوا
وَعَمِلُوا
الصَّالِحَاتِ
إِنَّا لَا
نُضِيعُ
أَجْرَ مَنْ
أَحْسَنَ
عَمَلًا
30. Inna allatheena
amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati inna la nudeeAAu ajra man ahsana AAamalan
As for those people who accept it and do righteous deeds, then certainly WE do
not waste the reward of the righteous people.
أُوْلَئِكَ
لَهُمْ
جَنَّاتُ
عَدْنٍ تَجْرِي
مِن
تَحْتِهِمُ
الْأَنْهَارُ
يُحَلَّوْنَ
فِيهَا مِنْ
أَسَاوِرَ
مِن ذَهَبٍ وَيَلْبَسُونَ
ثِيَابًا
خُضْرًا مِّن
سُندُسٍ
وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ
مُّتَّكِئِينَ
فِيهَا عَلَى
الْأَرَائِكِ
نِعْمَ
الثَّوَابُ
وَحَسُنَتْ
مُرْتَفَقًا
31. Olaika lahum
jannatu AAadnin tajree min tahtihimu alanharu yuhallawna feeha min asawira min
thahabin wayalbasoona thiyaban khudran min sundusin waistabraqin muttakieena
feeha AAala alaraiki niAAma alththawabu wahasunat murtafaqan
There are everlasting gardens ('Adn, Eden) for them underneath which canals
will be flowing, there they will be decorated with golden bracelets, (they)
will wear green garments of fine silk and beautiful brocade, and (they) will
sit on the raised thrones resting on cushions.
The excellent reward and exceptional place to stay (Murtafaqâ)! (R) 16
وَاضْرِبْ
لَهُم
مَّثَلًا
رَّجُلَيْنِ
جَعَلْنَا
لِأَحَدِهِمَا
جَنَّتَيْنِ
مِنْ أَعْنَابٍ
وَحَفَفْنَاهُمَا
بِنَخْلٍ وَجَعَلْنَا
بَيْنَهُمَا
زَرْعًا
32. Waidrib lahum
mathalan rajulayni jaAAalna liahadihima jannatayni min aAAnabin wahafafnahuma
binakhlin wajaAAalna baynahuma zarAAan
O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi
wa sallam), present an example before them.
There were two people. To one of
them WE gave two gardens of grapes and WE put a fence of date-palm trees around
those and between them left land for cultivation.
كِلْتَا
الْجَنَّتَيْنِ
آتَتْ
أُكُلَهَا وَلَمْ
تَظْلِمْ
مِنْهُ
شَيْئًا وَفَجَّرْنَا
خِلَالَهُمَا
نَهَرًا
33. Kilta
aljannatayni atat okulaha walam tathlim minhu shayan wafajjarna khilalahuma
naharan
Both the gardens flourished well (yielded ample fruits) and did not fail to
yield its best. WE caused a canal to
flow in the midst of those gardens
وَكَانَ
لَهُ ثَمَرٌ
فَقَالَ
لِصَاحِبِهِ وَهُوَ
يُحَاوِرُهُ
أَنَا
أَكْثَرُ
مِنكَ مَالًا
وَأَعَزُّ
نَفَرًا
34. Wakana lahu
thamarun faqala lisahibihi wahuwa yuhawiruhu ana aktharu minka malan waaAAazzu
nafaran
And he got lots of profit. Gaining all
that one-day while talking to his neighbor he said: "I am wealthier than
you and have more powerful men than you."
وَدَخَلَ
جَنَّتَهُ
وَهُوَ
ظَالِمٌ
لِّنَفْسِهِ
قَالَ مَا
أَظُنُّ أَن
تَبِيدَ هَذِهِ
أَبَدًا
35. Wadakhala
jannatahu wahuwa thalimun linafsihi qala ma athunnu an tabeeda hathihi abadan
Then he entered into his paradise and becoming cruel about his own soul started
saying. "I do not think that this wealth will ever vanish.
وَمَا
أَظُنُّ
السَّاعَةَ قَائِمَةً
وَلَئِن
رُّدِدتُّ
إِلَى رَبِّي
لَأَجِدَنَّ
خَيْرًا
مِّنْهَا
مُنقَلَبًا
36. Wama athunnu
alssaAAata qaimatan walain rudidtu ila rabbee laajidanna khayran minha
munqalaban
And I do not expect that the Hour of Judgment will ever come. However if I will be ever brought back to my
Râbb then I shall certainly get better place than this."
قَالَ
لَهُ
صَاحِبُهُ
وَهُوَ
يُحَاوِرُهُ أَكَفَرْتَ
بِالَّذِي
خَلَقَكَ مِن
تُرَابٍ
ثُمَّ مِن
نُّطْفَةٍ
ثُمَّ
سَوَّاكَ رَجُلًا
37. Qala lahu sahibuhu
wahuwa yuhawiruhu akafarta biallathee khalaqaka min turabin thumma min nutfatin
thumma sawwaka rajulan
While talking; his neighbor said to him: "Do you commit infidelity (Kufr)
with the One WHO has created you from mud and then from sperm drop (Nutfah) and
formed you into a complete man?
لَّكِنَّا
هُوَ اللَّهُ
رَبِّي وَلَا
أُشْرِكُ
بِرَبِّي
أَحَدًا
38. Lakinna huwa Allahu rabbee
wala oshriku birabbee ahadan
As for me, my Râbb is Allâh Alone and I do not
associate anyone with HIM.
وَلَوْلَا
إِذْ
دَخَلْتَ
جَنَّتَكَ
قُلْتَ مَا شَاء
اللَّهُ لَا
قُوَّةَ
إِلَّا
بِاللَّهِ إِن
تُرَنِ أَنَا
أَقَلَّ
مِنكَ مَالًا
وَوَلَدًا
39. Walawla ith dakhalta
jannataka qulta ma shaa Allahu la quwwata illa biAllahi in tarani ana aqalla
minka malan wawaladan
And when you were entering into your paradise then at that time why it did not
come out from your mouth that 'Only that will happen what Allâh wills (Mâshâ
Allâh), no one has any power except Allâh?
If you are appraising me inferior than yourself in wealth and children
فَعَسَى
رَبِّي أَن
يُؤْتِيَنِ
خَيْرًا مِّن
جَنَّتِكَ
وَيُرْسِلَ
عَلَيْهَا
حُسْبَانًا
مِّنَ
السَّمَاء
فَتُصْبِحَ صَعِيدًا
زَلَقًا
40. FaAAasa rabbee an yutiyani
khayran min jannatika wayursila AAalayha husbanan mina alssamai fatusbiha
saAAeedan zalaqan
Then it is quite possible that my Râbb may give me better than your garden and
send catastrophe (Husbân) on your paradise from the sky, which turns it into
barren (plain) land,
أَوْ
يُصْبِحَ
مَاؤُهَا
غَوْرًا
فَلَن تَسْتَطِيعَ
لَهُ طَلَبًا
41. Aw yusbiha maoha ghawran
falan tastateeAAa lahu talaban
Or its water may go down in the earth and then you
could not regain it in anyway."
وَأُحِيطَ
بِثَمَرِهِ
فَأَصْبَحَ
يُقَلِّبُ
كَفَّيْهِ
عَلَى مَا
أَنفَقَ
فِيهَا وَهِيَ
خَاوِيَةٌ
عَلَى
عُرُوشِهَا وَيَقُولُ
يَا
لَيْتَنِي
لَمْ
أُشْرِكْ بِرَبِّي
أَحَدًا
42. Waoheeta bithamarihi
faasbaha yuqallibu kaffayhi AAala ma anfaqa feeha wahiya khawiyatun AAala AAurooshiha
wayaqoolu ya laytanee lam oshrik birabbee ahadan
Finally it happened so; that all his fruits were destroyed and the garden of
grapes were over turned on the trellises and he remained squeezing his hands
with sorrow at the loss of what he had spent on it and started saying: Would
that! I had not associated anyone with my Râbb." --
وَلَمْ
تَكُن لَّهُ
فِئَةٌ
يَنصُرُونَهُ
مِن دُونِ
اللَّهِ
وَمَا كَانَ
مُنتَصِرًا
43. Walam takun lahu fiatun
yansuroonahu min dooni Allahi wama kana muntasiran
Except Allâh he could not have any group which could help him, and nor he
himself could fight against this destruction --
هُنَالِكَ
الْوَلَايَةُ
لِلَّهِ
الْحَقِّ
هُوَ خَيْرٌ
ثَوَابًا
وَخَيْرٌ
عُقْبًا
44. Hunalika
alwalayatu lillahi alhaqqi huwa khayrun thawaban wakhayrun AAuqban
At that time he came to know that all the divine power (Al-Walâyah) is for
Allâh the Trustworthy that reward is the best, which HE gives, and that end is
the best, which HE shows. (R) 17
وَاضْرِبْ
لَهُم
مَّثَلَ الْحَيَاةِ
الدُّنْيَا
كَمَاء
أَنزَلْنَاهُ
مِنَ
السَّمَاء
فَاخْتَلَطَ
بِهِ نَبَاتُ
الْأَرْضِ فَأَصْبَحَ
هَشِيمًا
تَذْرُوهُ
الرِّيَاحُ
وَكَانَ
اللَّهُ
عَلَى كُلِّ
شَيْءٍ مُّقْتَدِرًا
45. Waidrib lahum
mathala alhayati alddunya kamain anzalnahu mina alssamai faikhtalata bihi
nabatu alardi faasbaha hasheeman tathroohu alrriyahu wakana Allahu AAala kulli
shayin muqtadiran
And O Prophet (Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), make
them to understand the reality of this worldly life with this example that (as
if) today WE sent down water from the sky and the vegetation of the earth
flourished to its best (with it), and tomorrow the same vegetation was turned
into waste which is carried by the winds.
Allâh has power over everything.
الْمَالُ
وَالْبَنُونَ
زِينَةُ
الْحَيَاةِ
الدُّنْيَا
وَالْبَاقِيَاتُ
الصَّالِحَاتُ
خَيْرٌ عِندَ
رَبِّكَ
ثَوَابًا
وَخَيْرٌ
أَمَلًا
46. Almalu
waalbanoona zeenatu alhayati alddunya waalbaqiyatu alssalihatu khayrun AAinda
rabbika thawaban wakhayrun amalan
This wealth and the children are just the immediate beauty of this worldly
life. In reality only the resulting
lasting-good deeds are best in the sight of your Râbb and best hopes can only
be related to them.
وَيَوْمَ
نُسَيِّرُ
الْجِبَالَ
وَتَرَى الْأَرْضَ
بَارِزَةً
وَحَشَرْنَاهُمْ
فَلَمْ
نُغَادِرْ
مِنْهُمْ
أَحَدًا
47. Wayawma nusayyiru aljibala
watara alarda barizatan wahasharnahum falam nughadir minhum ahadan
Worry should be about that Day when WE shall cause the mountains to move, and you
will find the earth naked, and WE shall gather the entire mankind together in
such a way that (among the previous and succeeding) none will be left behind,
وَعُرِضُوا
عَلَى
رَبِّكَ
صَفًّا
لَّقَدْ جِئْتُمُونَا
كَمَا
خَلَقْنَاكُمْ
أَوَّلَ
مَرَّةٍ بَلْ
زَعَمْتُمْ
أَلَّن نَّجْعَلَ
لَكُم
مَّوْعِدًا
48. WaAAuridoo AAala rabbika
saffan laqad jitumoona kama khalaqnakum awwala marratin
bal zaAAamtum allan najAAala lakum mawAAidan
And they all will be brought before your Râbb in rows--well now see! "You have
come to US the same way as WE had created you the first time". You had thought that WE have not set any
appointed time for you (of OUR Promise) --
وَوُضِعَ
الْكِتَابُ
فَتَرَى
الْمُجْرِمِينَ
مُشْفِقِينَ
مِمَّا فِيهِ
وَيَقُولُونَ
يَا
وَيْلَتَنَا مَالِ
هَذَا الْكِتَابِ
لَا
يُغَادِرُ
صَغِيرَةً
وَلَا
كَبِيرَةً
إِلَّا
أَحْصَاهَا
وَوَجَدُوا
مَا عَمِلُوا
حَاضِرًا
وَلَا
يَظْلِمُ رَبُّكَ
أَحَدًا
49. WawudiAAa alkitabu fatara
almujrimeena mushfiqeena mimma feehi wayaqooloona ya waylatana ma lihatha
alkitabi la yughadiru sagheeratan wala kabeeratan illa ahsaha wawajadoo ma
AAamiloo hadiran wala yathlimu rabbuka ahadan
And the record of the deeds will be placed before them. At that time you will see that the criminals
(Mujrimûn) will be fearful from the record of their book of life and will be
saying: "O our bad luck, what type of a Book is this that none of our
deeds are left unrecorded either small or big." Whatever they had done they will find all
that in front of them and your Râbb will not do any injustice to anyone. (R) 18
وَإِذْ
قُلْنَا
لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ
اسْجُدُوا
لِآدَمَ
فَسَجَدُوا
إِلَّا
إِبْلِيسَ كَانَ
مِنَ
الْجِنِّ
فَفَسَقَ
عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِ
أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُ
وَذُرِّيَّتَهُ
أَوْلِيَاء
مِن دُونِي
وَهُمْ
لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ
بِئْسَ
لِلظَّالِمِينَ
بَدَلًا
50. Waith qulna lilmalaikati
osjudoo liadama fasajadoo illa ibleesa kana mina aljinni fafasaqa AAan amri
rabbihi afatattakhithoonahu wathurriyyatahu awliyaa min doonee wahum lakum
AAaduwwun bisa lilththalimeena badalan
Recall, when WE said to the angels: "Bow down in prostration before
Adam", they all prostrated but Iblîs (Satan) did not. He was one of the jinns this is why he
disobeyed the Command of his Râbb. Now
do you take him (Iblîs) and his offspring as your guardian except ME whereas
they are your enemies? It is a worse
exchange, which these cruel people (Zâlimûn) are adopting (getting).
مَا
أَشْهَدتُّهُمْ
خَلْقَ
السَّمَاوَاتِ
وَالْأَرْضِ
وَلَا خَلْقَ
أَنفُسِهِمْ
وَمَا كُنتُ
مُتَّخِذَ
الْمُضِلِّينَ
عَضُدًا
51. Ma ashhadtuhum khalqa
alssamawati waalardi wala khalqa anfusihim wama kuntu muttakhitha almudilleena
AAadudan
I did not call them (for help) while creating the skies and the earth and nor I
had involved them in their own creation.
It is not for ME to take the misleaders as MY helpers.
وَيَوْمَ
يَقُولُ
نَادُوا
شُرَكَائِيَ
الَّذِينَ
زَعَمْتُمْ
فَدَعَوْهُمْ
فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا
لَهُمْ
وَجَعَلْنَا
بَيْنَهُم
مَّوْبِقًا
52. Wayawma yaqoolu nadoo
shurakaiya allatheena zaAAamtum fadaAAawhum falam yastajeeboo lahum wajaAAalna
baynahum mawbiqan
Then what these people will do on that Day when their Râbb will say to them
that now call those deities whom you thought to be MY partners. They will call them, but they will not come
to help them and WE shall make one common ditch of destruction (Maubiqa)
between them.
وَرَأَى
الْمُجْرِمُونَ
النَّارَ
فَظَنُّوا
أَنَّهُم
مُّوَاقِعُوهَا
وَلَمْ يَجِدُوا
عَنْهَا
مَصْرِفًا
53. Waraa
almujrimoona alnnara fathannoo annahum muwaqiAAooha walam yajidoo AAanha
masrifan
All
the criminals (Mujrimûn) will see fire on that day and will understand that now
they have to fall in it and they will not find any place of refuge from it. (R)

وَلَقَدْ
صَرَّفْنَا
فِي هَذَا
الْقُرْآنِ
لِلنَّاسِ
مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٍ
وَكَانَ
الْإِنسَانُ
أَكْثَرَ شَيْءٍ
جَدَلًا
54. Walaqad sarrafna
fee hatha alqurani lilnnasi min kulli mathalin wakana alinsanu akthara shayin
jadalan
In this Al-Qur'ân WE explained to the people in
different ways but mankind happened to be very argumentative.
وَمَا
مَنَعَ
النَّاسَ أَن
يُؤْمِنُوا
إِذْ
جَاءهُمُ
الْهُدَى
وَيَسْتَغْفِرُوا
رَبَّهُمْ
إِلَّا أَن
تَأْتِيَهُمْ
سُنَّةُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
أَوْ
يَأْتِيَهُمُ
الْعَذَابُ
قُبُلًا
55. Wama manaAAa alnnasa an
yuminoo ith jaahumu alhuda wayastaghfiroo rabbahum illa an tatiyahum sunnatu
alawwaleena aw yatiyahumu alAAathabu qubulan
When guidance came to them then what stopped them from accepting it and asking
Forgiveness of their Râbb? Nothing
except this that they are waiting for the same thing to happen to them, which
has happened to the former people or that they see the torment coming ahead!
وَمَا
نُرْسِلُ
الْمُرْسَلِينَ
إِلَّا مُبَشِّرِينَ
وَمُنذِرِينَ
وَيُجَادِلُ
الَّذِينَ
كَفَرُوا بِالْبَاطِلِ
لِيُدْحِضُوا
بِهِ
الْحَقَّ
وَاتَّخَذُوا
آيَاتِي
وَمَا
أُنذِرُوا
هُزُوًا
56. Wama nursilu almursaleena
illa mubashshireena wamunthireena wayujadilu allatheena kafaroo bialbatili
liyudhidoo bihi alhaqqa waittakhathoo ayatee wama onthiroo huzuwan
WE do not send Rasools except this that they perform the duty to convey the
good news and the warnings. But this is
the condition of the infidels (Kafir) that with their false arguments they try
to defeat the Truth and they have made fun of MY Revelation and those warnings
that were sent to them.
وَمَنْ
أَظْلَمُ
مِمَّن
ذُكِّرَ
بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِ
فَأَعْرَضَ
عَنْهَا
وَنَسِيَ مَا قَدَّمَتْ
يَدَاهُ
إِنَّا
جَعَلْنَا
عَلَى
قُلُوبِهِمْ
أَكِنَّةً أَن
يَفْقَهُوهُ
وَفِي
آذَانِهِمْ
وَقْرًا
وَإِن
تَدْعُهُمْ إِلَى
الْهُدَى
فَلَن
يَهْتَدُوا
إِذًا أَبَدًا
57. Waman athlamu
mimman thukkira biayati rabbihi faaAArada AAanha wanasiya ma qaddamat yadahu
inna jaAAalna AAala quloobihim akinnatan an yafqahoohu wafee athanihim waqran
wain tadAAuhum ila alhuda falan yahtadoo ithan abadan
And who else is crueler than the one to whom the advice is given by reciting
the Revelation (Ayât) of his/her Râbb and he/she turns away from it and forgets
the bad end of that what he/she has done with his/her own hands for himself/herself? (Those people who have adopted this attitude) WE
have put covering on their hearts, which do not let them to understand the
message of Al-Qur'ân and WE have created deafness in their ears. You may call them toward guidance; they will
never receive guidance in this condition.
وَرَبُّكَ
الْغَفُورُ
ذُو
الرَّحْمَةِ
لَوْ
يُؤَاخِذُهُم
بِمَا
كَسَبُوا
لَعَجَّلَ
لَهُمُ
الْعَذَابَ
بَل لَّهُم
مَّوْعِدٌ لَّن
يَجِدُوا مِن
دُونِهِ
مَوْئِلًا
58. Warabbuka alghafooru thoo
alrrahmati law yuakhithuhum bima kasaboo laAAajjala lahumu alAAathaba bal lahum
mawAAidun lan yajidoo min doonihi mawilan
Your Râbb is Most Forgiving and Merciful.
If HE wanted to seize them on their sins then HE would have sent
punishment immediately. But an appointed
term has been fixed for them and they will not find any way out from it.
وَتِلْكَ
الْقُرَى
أَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ
لَمَّا
ظَلَمُوا
وَجَعَلْنَا
لِمَهْلِكِهِم
مَّوْعِدًا
59. Watilka alqura ahlaknahum
lamma thalamoo wajaAAalna limahlikihim mawAAidan
The towns ('Ad, Thamûd) which received (OUR) torment are present before you.
When they committed cruelty WE destroyed them, and WE had appointed a term for
the destruction of everyone among them. (R) 20
وَإِذْ
قَالَ مُوسَى
لِفَتَاهُ
لَا أَبْرَحُ
حَتَّى
أَبْلُغَ
مَجْمَعَ
الْبَحْرَيْنِ
أَوْ
أَمْضِيَ حُقُبًا
60. Waith qala moosa lifatahu la
abrahu hatta ablugha majmaAAa albahrayni aw amdiya huquban
(Just tell them about the incident, which happened with Mûsa) When Mûsa had
said to his servant: "I will not finish my journey until I reach the
junction of the two rivers; otherwise I will continue my journey for
years."
فَلَمَّا
بَلَغَا
مَجْمَعَ
بَيْنِهِمَا
نَسِيَا
حُوتَهُمَا
فَاتَّخَذَ
سَبِيلَهُ فِي
الْبَحْرِ
سَرَبًا
61. Falamma balagha majmaAAa
baynihima nasiya hootahuma faittakhatha sabeelahu fee albahri saraban
So when they reached at the junction, they became
neglectful about the fish and it made its way into the river as if there was
some tunnel.
فَلَمَّا
جَاوَزَا
قَالَ
لِفَتَاهُ
آتِنَا
غَدَاءنَا
لَقَدْ
لَقِينَا مِن
سَفَرِنَا هَذَا
نَصَبًا
62. Falamma jawaza qala lifatahu
atina ghadaana laqad laqeena min safarina hatha nasaban
After going further Mûsa asked his servant:
"Bring our breakfast; we got very tired in our today’s journey."
قَالَ
أَرَأَيْتَ
إِذْ
أَوَيْنَا
إِلَى الصَّخْرَةِ
فَإِنِّي
نَسِيتُ
الْحُوتَ وَمَا
أَنسَانِيهُ
إِلَّا
الشَّيْطَانُ
أَنْ أَذْكُرَهُ
وَاتَّخَذَ
سَبِيلَهُ
فِي الْبَحْرِ
عَجَبًا
63. Qala araayta ith awayna ila
alssakhrati fainnee naseetu alhoota wama ansaneehu illa alshshaytanu an
athkurahu waittakhatha sabeelahu fee albahri AAajaban
Servant replied: "You know! What happened?
When we were staying near that rock at that time I forgot about the fish
and Shaitân made me so negligent that I forgot (to mention to you) about
it. The fish went into the river in a
strange way."
قَالَ
ذَلِكَ مَا
كُنَّا
نَبْغِ
فَارْتَدَّا
عَلَى
آثَارِهِمَا
قَصَصًا
64. Qala thalika ma kunna nabghi
fairtadda AAala atharihima qasasan
Mûsa responded: "That is what we were looking for." Therefore they both went back retracing their
footsteps.
فَوَجَدَا
عَبْدًا
مِّنْ
عِبَادِنَا
آتَيْنَاهُ
رَحْمَةً
مِنْ
عِندِنَا
وَعَلَّمْنَاهُ
مِن
لَّدُنَّا
عِلْمًا
65. Fawajada AAabdan min AAibadina
ataynahu rahmatan min AAindina waAAallamnahu min ladunna AAilman
And there they found one servant (Khidr) from among
OUR servants whom WE had blessed with OUR favor and had given a special
knowledge (to him) from OURSELF.
قَالَ
لَهُ مُوسَى
هَلْ
أَتَّبِعُكَ
عَلَى أَن
تُعَلِّمَنِ
مِمَّا
عُلِّمْتَ
رُشْدًا
66. Qala lahu moosa
hal attabiAAuka AAala an tuAAallimani mimma AAullimta
rushdan
Mûsa said to him: "May I stay with you so that you may teach me the
wisdom, which has been taught (by Allâh,
subhaana wa ta’aala) to you"?
قَالَ
إِنَّكَ لَن
تَسْتَطِيعَ
مَعِيَ صَبْرًا
67. Qala innaka lan tastateeAAa maAAiya sabran
He (Khidr) replied: "You cannot observe patience with me,
وَكَيْفَ
تَصْبِرُ
عَلَى مَا
لَمْ تُحِطْ بِهِ
خُبْرًا
68. Wakayfa tasbiru
AAala ma lam tuhit bihi khubran
And about which you do not have any knowledge after
all how can you observe patience about it?"
قَالَ
سَتَجِدُنِي
إِن شَاء
اللَّهُ
صَابِرًا
وَلَا
أَعْصِي لَكَ
أَمْرًا
69. Qala satajidunee in shaa
Allahu sabiran wala aAAsee laka amran
Mûsa said: "If Allâh wills (Insha-Allâh) you will find me patient and I
shall not disobey you in anything."
قَالَ
فَإِنِ
اتَّبَعْتَنِي
فَلَا تَسْأَلْنِي
عَن شَيْءٍ
حَتَّى
أُحْدِثَ
لَكَ مِنْهُ
ذِكْرًا
70. Qala faini ittabaAAtanee
fala tasalnee AAan shayin hatta ohditha laka minhu thikran
He (Khidr) said: "Well, if you accompany me then do not ask anything from
me until I myself tell you about it." (R) 21
فَانطَلَقَا
حَتَّى إِذَا
رَكِبَا فِي
السَّفِينَةِ
خَرَقَهَا
قَالَ
أَخَرَقْتَهَا
لِتُغْرِقَ
أَهْلَهَا
لَقَدْ جِئْتَ
شَيْئًا
إِمْرًا
71. Faintalaqa hatta itha rakiba
fee alssafeenati kharaqaha qala akharaqtaha litughriqa ahlaha laqad jita shayan
imran
Now they both departed until they embarked the boat then that person (Khidr)
made a hole in the boat. Mûsa said:
"You made a hole in it to drown all its passengers! You have done very
fearsome thing (Imra)."
قَالَ
أَلَمْ
أَقُلْ
إِنَّكَ لَن
تَسْتَطِيعَ
مَعِيَ
صَبْرًا
72. Qala alam aqul innaka lan tastateeAAa maAAiya sabran
He (Khidr) said: "Did I not tell you that you cannot observe patience with
me"?
قَالَ لَا
تُؤَاخِذْنِي
بِمَا
نَسِيتُ وَلَا
تُرْهِقْنِي
مِنْ أَمْرِي
عُسْرًا
73. Qala la tuakhithnee bima naseetu
wala turhiqnee min amree AAusran
Mûsa said: "Do not hold me accountable for my forgetfulness. Do not be hard on me for my conduct."
فَانطَلَقَا
حَتَّى إِذَا
لَقِيَا
غُلَامًا
فَقَتَلَهُ
قَالَ
أَقَتَلْتَ
نَفْسًا زَكِيَّةً
بِغَيْرِ
نَفْسٍ
لَّقَدْ جِئْتَ
شَيْئًا
نُّكْرًا
74. Faintalaqa hatta itha laqiya
ghulaman faqatalahu qala aqatalta nafsan zakiyyatan bighayri nafsin laqad jita
shayan nukran
Then again they both advanced, until they met a boy and that person (Khidr)
killed him. Mûsa said: "You killed an innocent person though he had not
killed anyone? You have done a thing of great sin (Nukra)."
